Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Dad the Movie Star Is Back~
byChapter 4: The Award-Winning Actor Dad Is Back!
Many employees in his company were fans of Lu Tingan. Every time they saw him, their expressions would freeze—not only did they have to call their romantic rival "boss," but they also had to work for him.
Later, as they noticed the couple’s relationship was quite harmonious and Song Qinian fulfilled his role well—handling all household chores, carrying bags outdoors, and frequently visiting Lu Tingan at his film sets—paparazzi photos always showed Song Qinian holding a bouquet, with a food box or gift box in hand. Lu Tingan genuinely appreciated these gestures, so the fans gradually accepted Song Qinian.
...Actually, the main reason was that Song Qinian was incredibly generous to Lu Tingan’s fans. After all, it’s hard to stay mad at someone who treats you well.
After so many years of marriage, their feelings for one another hadn’t changed.
"Dad!" Lu Zhiyu could barely wait. As Lu Tingan approached, he excitedly ran over with his bouquet.
Lu Tingan bent down and scooped him up, gently kissed his forehead, and carried him as he walked toward Song Qinian.
Song Qinian watched him approach without blinking, a smile tugging at his lips. "Guess what I have behind my back?"
Lu Tingan chuckled softly, his phoenix eyes curved with a faint smile, softening his usually cool demeanor.
Handing over the bouquet he was holding, he said, "I guess it’s the same as mine—black tea roses."
Song Qinian’s smile deepened. Although Lu Zhiyu had already ruined the surprise, it couldn’t diminish his affection for Lu Tingan.
He brought his hands from behind his back, holding out a vibrant bouquet of black tea roses to Lu Tingan. "You guessed right, *gege*."
Lu Zhiyu’s bouquet was already in Lu Tingan’s hands. Hearing their conversation, Lu Zhishi got a little anxious since no one seemed to pay him any attention. "Ah! Ah ah!" Dad, look at me!
His clear, tender baby voice startled the couple, who’d been engrossed in their intimate conversation.
Seeing his pleading, wriggling expression, Lu Tingan smiled, bent down to take the bouquet he was waving, and kissed his forehead. "Thank you, baby. Dad is very happy."
The little one smiled, scrunching his eyes, leaning against Song Qinian while keeping his gaze fixed on Lu Tingan, whose heart melted at the sight.
He asked Song Qinian to undo the baby carrier so he could hold the child.
Due to the demands of acting, Lu Tingan maintained a consistent fitness regimen, with well-defined muscles and ample stamina. Carrying both children was no problem for him.
Like his brother, Lu Zhishi obediently rested on Lu Tingan’s shoulder, staying quiet and still, breathing in the familiar scent.
He felt a natural closeness and dependence on Lu Tingan, perhaps because Lu Tingan had carried him.
After sending a red envelope to Lu Tingan’s assistant, Little Tao, Song Qinian told him to pick a car from the airport garage and drive back to rest.
The young man with a crew cut shyly scratched the back of his head. "Well, Brother Lu, Brother Song, I’ll head back to the company first. Call me if you need anything."
Lu Tingan nodded. "Drive safely. Take care."
Little Tao headed toward the garage in the opposite direction. Song Qinian, carrying two large and four small bouquets, pulled the luggage and followed Lu Tingan. They drove back to the villa with their family.
After Lu Tingan returned, the atmosphere at home became even warmer and livelier.
"Dad, dad~" Lu Zhiyu trailed behind Lu Tingan like a little tail, while Lu Zhishi tugged at his clothes, wanting to snuggle. "Ah wuwu..."
Two little clingy ones, just like Song Qinian.
Lu Tingan had no choice but to carry one in each arm as he stood at the kitchen door, talking to Song Qinian inside.
After dinner, Lu Tingan prepared to bathe the two children. Having been away for so long, he missed them like crazy.
Lu Zhiyu shook his head, a bit shy as he hugged Lu Tingan’s leg and buried his face against it, mumbling, "I’m a big kid now. I can bathe myself. Chi Chen bathes by himself too."
Lu Tingan ruffled his hair, his cool voice filled with tenderness. "We respect your choice, but Dad wants you to know that if you ever want help, you can always ask us to bathe you or help you with anything. Don’t be afraid to seek our help. You’ll always be our baby, and home will always be your support, no matter how old you are."
Lu Zhiyu didn’t look up, his ears turning red as he hugged Lu Tingan’s leg and swayed playfully. "I will, Dad."
Lu Zhishi was once again surprised by words he had never heard before. He looked up at Lu Tingan’s face, then turned to glance at Song Qinian, who was packing the suitcase not far away, and Lu Zhiyu, who was out of sight. He thought to himself:
How lucky he was to have such a gentle, loving, and principled person as his dad and brother.
Noticing the little one in his arms staring at him, Lu Tingan kissed his chubby cheek. "You too. Your dads and your brother love you, and home will always be your support."
Even though he knew a child of this age might not understand, he still said it earnestly... Lu Zhishi smiled, his little hand patting Lu Tingan’s wrist.
After bathing himself, Lu Zhiyu grabbed a towel to cover his head and went to Lu Tingan to have his hair dried.
While the bathtub and shower temperatures could be adjusted automatically, he couldn’t use the hairdryer himself because he never managed to dry his hair properly, often leading to colds.
When he arrived, Lu Zhishi was floating in the water with a swim ring, while Lu Tingan sat nearby watching him bob around.
"Dad, dry my hair."
"Okay, Dad will dry it for you." Lu Tingan stood up, dried his wet hands, took the hairdryer, and gently tousled Lu Zhiyu’s curly hair. After drying it, he even combed it neatly.
"Thanks, Dad~" Lu Zhiyu turned around to hug Lu Tingan and nuzzle him, then walked over to Lu Zhishi, who was babbling at him. He reached into his pajama pocket, dropped a few rubber ducks into the water, and kissed his round head. "Brother’s leaving now. See you later~"
The rubber ducks were incredibly captivating to Lu Zhishi—once he laid eyes on them, he couldn’t look away.
It couldn’t be helped. He was still so small, unable to move freely, with very few toys to play with. He was a bit bored.
Besides, who could resist rubber ducks during bath time? Lu Zhishi certainly couldn’t!
Lu Tingan smiled faintly, ruffling his hair. "If I’d known you liked them, I would’ve bought more when I came back. There are many styles—pink ducks, even Peppa Pig ones."
Lu Zhiyu hadn’t taken to rubber ducks until he was six or seven months old. Lu Tingan hadn’t expected Tubby to like them so early. "We’ll have Dad buy some more tomorrow."
"Ah dah dah... en ah..."
No matter how much he liked them, he couldn’t play for too long. After half an hour in the water, Lu Tingan collected the rubber ducks and gave the soft, chubby Tubby a bath.
Lu Tingan’s skill in caring for the two little ones was no less than Song Qinian’s—surprising for someone who spent most of his time filming and rarely stayed home.
In reality, whenever Lu Tingan was home, he took full charge of the children without letting Song Qinian help. He was proficient in every aspect of their care, striving to spend as much time with them as possible.
Gently supporting Tubby, he used a small towel to scrub his plump arms and legs. Lu Zhishi couldn’t help but let out soft, contented gurgles.
Half-closing his eyes in comfort, he heard Lu Tingan chuckle.
His movie star dad wasn’t as aloof as others claimed, Lu Zhishi thought. His dad was actually very gentle.
After the bath, Lu Tingan wrapped him snugly in a towel, applied some baby powder and lotion, and turned him back into a fragrant little Tubby.
Once diapered and dressed, Lu Tingan nuzzled the baby’s chest, eliciting a giggle. "Ha..."
Lu Tingan kissed his cheek, turned off the nursery light, and walked back to the master bedroom.
Song Qinian sat cross-legged on the rug, sorting through the contents of his suitcase. Across from him, Lu Zhiyu sat on the rug, curiously peering into the luggage.
Seeing him enter, Song Qinian shifted aside. Lu Tingan sat down next to him, leaning against his arm.
Song Qinian pointed to a pile of gifts, cookies, and local specialties beside him and asked Lu Tingan, "Gege, are all these from Aunt Rong?"
Lu Tingan glanced sideways: "Auntie Rong packed the gifts and local specialties, and she also baked the rose cakes. She said to bring them back for my mom to try and asked me to ask my mom if it tastes the same."
He motioned for Song Qinian to hand him the biscuits, hesitated for a moment, then opened the package of jasmine cakes, handed one to Lu Zhiyu, stuffed one into Song Qinian’s mouth, and ate one himself, leaving only little Lu Zhishi—a chubby little tank—watching longingly, drooling.
"The jasmine cakes were made by Uncle Xiao Xi. He finished making them last night, and my brother brought them over right after, telling me to bring them home for the kids to try."
"Did your brother-in-law only say to let the kids try?"
Lu Tingan didn’t even look up: "No, he also said to let that little tagalong try."
Song Qinian: "..."
Lu Zhiyu took a couple of bites, his cheeks puffed up like a little squirrel: "Uncle Xiao Xi’s jasmine cakes are delicious."
The scent of jasmine filled the air, making Lu Zhishi's mouth water.
After finishing one, Song Qinian grabbed a few tissues to wipe his hands, then also wiped Lu Tingan’s and Lu Zhiyu’s fingers.
He tossed the tissues away, made sure the others were done eating, then rewrapped the jasmine cakes and set them aside. As he went back to organizing things, he chatted casually with Lu Tingan.
"Brother, when will Auntie Rong and the others arrive?"
There were eight days left until Lu Zhishi’s hundred-day celebration, and Auntie Rong and the others would all be coming.
"I asked. Auntie Rong and Uncle Huo will arrive in a few days. My brother and Uncle Xiao Xi, along with the two little ones, might be a bit later."
Lu Tingan lowered his eyes to wipe the drool from Lu Zhishi’s mouth, gently laid the chubby baby on Song Qinian’s lap, then got up to prepare the bottle.
"Alright, I’ll go pick them up when the time comes." Song Qinian adjusted Lu Zhishi’s clothes and shifted his position to make him more comfortable lying down: "The items for Shishi’s hundred-day celebration have been sent to Mom and Dad’s place, and some other things will be delivered here."
"I’ll pick you up from work tomorrow, and we’ll go to Mom and Dad’s for dinner to check on the preparations for the hundred-day celebration." Lu Tingan handed a cup of milk to Lu Zhiyu to drink while he held the bottle to feed Lu Zhishi.
Song Qinian looked up, "Brother..."
Lu Tingan quickly glanced at the two children, his cool demeanor tinged with a blush, his ears burning.
He covered Song Qinian’s mouth and pushed his shaggy head away: "The kids are watching!"
Lu Zhiyu held back a laugh, raising his milk cup to hide his smiling lips.
Lu Zhishi grinned. Since becoming a child, he tended to be more emotional like a real baby, unable to control his emotions as well as an adult.
So he couldn’t hold back, his big dark eyes curving into smiles, his chubby hands holding the bottle unfocused, his little chubby foot resting on Lu Tingan’s arm bouncing up and down. He grinned, revealing pink gums, his small voice clear and tender: "Haha..."
Song Qinian: "...?"
Ohhhh, essa é a história mais fofa que já li. Me pergunto quanto tempo vai durar essa fase terna do protagonista bebê. Muito fofo~
