Chapter 28: The Maid Outfit (Triple Update)

The Alphas huddled together, carefully crunching the numbers for their upcoming expenses and planning their debt repayment through part-time work.

Jobs like dishwashing were immediately ruled out. With a huge debt and each person having fixed daily costs, they needed to make every second count and maximize their earnings.

Fortunately, room occupancy was calculated on a 24-hour basis, and they could renew it day by day. Unlike regular hotels where you have to check out by noon even if you check in late at night.

Yuan Shiyuan asked, "How much are the suite and standard double rooms, each?"

The attendant replied, "The suite you're currently staying in costs 800 starcoins per night, while a standard double room is 300 starcoins per night."

With six people, they would need three rooms.

Yuan Shiyuan eyed the size of the suite carefully, then leaned over and whispered, "Is the double room you stayed in big?"

Bao Jin answered, "Including the bathroom, the space is smaller than the living room of your suite."

The standard double room was quite small, but at least it had two single beds. The previous night, Bao Jin felt grossed out at the thought of sharing a room with another Alpha.

Luckily, Jiang Hang never returned, so he had the double room all to himself. He couldn’t care less whether Jiang Hang was in danger.

Bao Jin had a very comfortable night.

Little did he know, Jiang Hang had it better. No wonder Jiang Hang didn’t return to the room—he had already made plans. Right after the room assignments were finalized, he hurried over to Yuan Shiyuan’s suite, afraid he might miss out on a good spot.

It wasn’t surprising that Ying Mingche had Ying Mingxi to back him up. But Pei Yanbing also tagging along…

Bao Jin glanced at them with a thoughtful look.

    He had been too naive.

Ying Mingxi asked, "Shi Yuan, are you suggesting we squeeze into one double room?"

"Yes, we’ll have to make do and squeeze in to save on daily room expenses," Yuan Shiyuan said worriedly. "But the standard double room is too small."

Based on Bao Jin’s description, the standard double room had limited space, barely enough for two people. If they tried to fit more than two, they’d have to pile up like sardines.

But the suite was too expensive… Even if all six stayed in the suite, it would still be pricey.

"Let’s just stay in the suite," Bao Jin suggested. "The living room alone can fit two single beds. Didn’t they mention there are fold-out beds? Then two others can sleep on the floor, and two can get the beds."

"That way, we can all fit."

"The suite price is also cheaper than three standard double rooms." Even if it was only 100 starcoins cheaper.

The other Alphas agreed it was doable.

Then came the question. Yuan Shiyuan asked, "Which two get to sleep on the beds?"

All eyes turned to Yuan Shiyuan simultaneously. The Alphas looked toward him. He looked back, confused. "Me again?"

"Then who’s the other one? Who gets to sleep with me?"

Even with this arrangement, only two could sleep on the beds, which wasn’t fair to the others.

Yuan Shiyuan understood why they wanted him on the bed. Alpha pheromones often clashed, but his were milder and more acceptable to the others. Plus, as the youngest in the group, they felt obliged to show some care for him.

This worked in his favor, securing him a spot on the bed. As for who would share it with him? He was fine with it.

The usually assertive Alphas suddenly became hesitant, and no one spoke up.

    Yuan Shiyuan understood.

Many Alphas hate sharing living or sleeping spaces with others of the same gender, let alone sharing a bed. If they were forced to sleep next to him, their pheromones might end up starting a fight.

But Yuan Shiyuan had no such worries. His pheromones were well-behaved and obedient. Without his permission, they wouldn’t start a fight with other Alphas.

"Since no one’s speaking up, it must mean they don’t want to. I’m different—I’d love to sleep with you." Ying Mingche jumped at the chance. "Then I’ll gladly take it."

Yuan Shiyuan couldn’t make a snap decision. He asked, "Do any of you want to sleep with me?"

That sounded a bit odd, so he rephrased, "Do you want to sleep on the bed?"

    This time, they responded: "Yes."

It made sense. The bed was soft and comfortable, unlike the hard floor.

Yuan Shiyuan suggested, "Then let’s take turns. Each of you can take a turn."

The question then became: who goes first?

They decided by rolling the dice.

Whoever rolled the highest number would go first.

The Alphas with lower numbers would willingly settle for the floor later.

Yuan Shiyuan glanced at their results, surprised. "Captain, you’re so lucky? A 6…"

Then came Bao Jin, Ying Mingxi, Jiang Hang, and Ying Mingche. This also determined the order of who would share the bed with him.

Bao Jin wasn’t first, which bugged him, but being second was still better than last.

After missing out yesterday, he finally managed to get ahead today. Maybe this was the universe making it up to him?

"So our fixed daily expenses include 800 for the room, plus 100 starcoins each for tips and cleaning fees… With six of us, that’s 2,000 starcoins total per day." Yuan Shiyuan’s head was spinning. Waking up each day meant owing 2,000 starcoins.

Jiang Hang reminded him, "We also have to factor in bathroom usage fees."

The bathroom wasn’t just for grooming—it was also for showering and using the toilet. This was an expense they couldn’t avoid or reduce.

Although 100 starcoins gets you an hour of usage, who could guarantee that everyone would need to use the toilet within that hour?

They couldn’t possibly coordinate everyone’s toilet breaks to fit into a single hour.

What if someone couldn’t hold it?

"Why that expression? You don’t need to use the toilet right now, do you?" Ying Mingche glanced at the bathroom timer. "The countdown’s over."

"If you need to go, we can go wash some dishes first so you can use the bathroom."

Yuan Shiyuan said, "No, I don’t feel the urge right now."

The thought of even having to pay to use the toilet filled him with despair. "I’m scared to drink too much water now, afraid I’ll have to spend money."

A soft chuckle came from beside him.

Ying Mingxi said with a smile, "It’s not that bad. With the five of us working together, our income won’t be too shabby. We won’t let you go broke just using the toilet."

Yuan Shiyuan: "Gotta save where we can."

    "I actually have a money-saving idea."

Ying Mingche hooked an arm around Yuan Shiyuan's shoulder, pulling him close. With his other hand, he lifted Yuan Shiyuan's chin, turning his face toward him. "Just pee on my clothes. Later when I shower, I’ll wash them too."

"...No need to be that frugal." Yuan Shiyuan couldn’t help but frown at the mental image.

Jiang Hang curled his lip: "Why don’t you just drink it instead?"

Ying Mingche shrugged indifferently: "I wouldn’t mind, but our Princess Yuanyuan isn’t willing—thinks I’m dirty."

Yuan Shiyuan had enough of this: "Can we please change the subject? I just finished breakfast; I don’t want to puke this early."

    —Laughing till I collapse.

—The look on Yuan Shiyuan’s face is hilarious—shock, disgust, disbelief, questioning life, plus full-on disdain for Ying Mingche.

—Wtf, can this really be aired? And why does Ying Mingche look so disappointed? Don’t tell me you actually wanted to drink it..

—I know Yuan Shiyuan is beautiful, but Ying Mingche, you’re way too thirsty.. I can’t take it. [facepalm]

—I’m really afraid Xiao Yuan is going to develop homophobia..

Aside from bathroom fees, there was another key area where they needed to spend money: they had no change of clothes.

Last night, Bao Jin and the others had bought pajamas and other items directly from the ship’s store. Back then, they could still use electronic payment, but now they could only use star coins. Clothes could be washed at night and dried by the next day, but what about underwear?

Wear them during the day, wash them at night, then sleep commando? Keep wearing the same pair over and over?

Buying disposable underwear and toiletries would cost more money...

The more Yuan Shiyuan calculated, the more his head hurt, as if everything required money. After putting down his pen, he felt dizzy.

"Really got on a pirate ship..." he muttered to himself.

Yuan Shiyuan rummaged through his small backpack: "I have some sample-sized items in here, but not many... We don’t need to spend money on toiletries. We can dilute them with water and use them sparingly—should last us a while."

The more he talked, the more pathetic it sounded.

Yuan Shiyuan dug out a few individually wrapped disposable underwear. "There are still a few pairs of disposable underwear left. Let’s split them."

Bao Jin glanced at them: "They won’t fit me."

Jiang Hang checked the size: "Yeah, they’re a bit too small."

Ying Mingche slammed the table laughing.

The other three Alphas didn’t even get a chance to speak before Yuan Shiyuan coldly shoved the disposable underwear back into his backpack: "Forget it, don’t wear them."

    "Sleep commando tonight."

Were they making fun of him in a roundabout way?!

Yuan Shiyuan rarely showed a cold expression, but now his face beneath his pink hair was tense, his lips pressed together. Silently, he packed everything back into his backpack and zipped it up with a sharp sound.

    He looked pretty fierce.

"That’s not what we meant," Bao Jin explained. "Your size is just a bit too small."

    "We really can’t fit."

    "Oh," Yuan Shiyuan said coldly.

"Really, that’s not what we meant..."

Yuan Shiyuan deliberately kept a stern face, pretending to be busy as he unzipped and rezipped his backpack.

The S-class Alphas knew they had upset Yuan Shiyuan. They felt at a loss, afraid that saying more would only make it worse.

"Shi Yuan, what they mean is that your size is too narrow at the waist; we can’t wear them," Ying Mingxi spoke up first. He came to Yuan Shiyuan’s side, placed his hand on Yuan Shiyuan’s abdomen, then moved his palm to his waist, giving it a light squeeze.

The Alpha’s gaze unconsciously drifted from the slender, narrow waist under his large hand to Yuan Shiyuan’s face.

    Yuan Shiyuan’s eyelashes trembled slightly.

Ying Mingxi withdrew his hand, speaking gently, "Your waist is just this slim."

They all had fitness routines, with superior body proportions—broad shoulders and narrow waists, natural-born models. But none had a waist as slender as Yuan Shiyuan’s.

Lean, delicate, yet resilient, as if it could be held in one hand.

    Yuan Shiyuan still didn’t speak.

The S-class Alphas were at a loss, wanting to say more but afraid of making him angrier. Despite their astonishing talents in many areas, not one of them knew how to comfort people.

After a long moment, Yuan Shiyuan couldn’t hold it in anymore—he suddenly laughed.

"Alright, I’m not that easy to anger," he said. "I was just teasing you."

    "Really?"

"Really, really." Yuan Shiyuan’s temper was always quite good. He stood up and said, "Let’s go find jobs."

"Once I’m sure you’ve all found work, I’ll go back to the room and enjoy the air conditioning."

    The Alphas finally looked relieved.

Yuan Shiyuan was puzzled—why were they so insistent on him resting? Working was his strong suit.

Most jobs were concentrated on the top floor, though there were also shops offering positions on lower levels, but they were relatively fewer and paid less than those upstairs.

Yuan Shiyuan accompanied them to several interviews.

    In the end, Pei Yanbing went to a high-end restaurant to play the piano; if customers requested violin, he could also earn extra commission;

    Ying Mingxi and Ying Mingche wore mascot costumes to hand out flyers;

Bao Jin went to a music store to offer trial lessons to customers.

Jiang Hang interviewed for a mechanic position at the racetrack.

At first, the boss took it as a joke, thinking it was for a show—how could these idols really know how to repair cars? But after the interview, his attitude grew serious.

    "You really know how?"

    "Yeah, I’ve done it before."

Although cars and race cars aren’t exactly the same, the boss affirmed: "Pretty professional."

Everyone had found work without a hitch, except for Yuan Shiyuan, who was the only one still unemployed. He asked in surprise, "You can fix cars too?"

Jiang Hang replied, "The bar for entry is low. You can learn it if you have a mentor."

    Yuan Shiyuan was pretty surprised.

He had assumed all the group members were high-society types, but it turned out there was a regular person like him too.

After the interviews, it was lunchtime.

    Yuan Shiyuan was hungry again.

But since no one else mentioned being hungry, Yuan Shiyuan felt awkward bringing it up. Out of the blue, Jiang Hang just glanced at him and said, "The buffet only costs 50 star coins. Go eat."

Jiang Hang pressed 50 star coins into Yuan Shiyuan's hand.

"How did you know I was hungry?" Yuan Shiyuan wondered, his stomach hadn't even growled.

    Jiang Hang said, "Lucky guess."

Feeling bad about eating by himself, Yuan Shiyuan said, "I still have some snacks in my bag. Let's just make do with those."

Ying Mingche snatched the 50 star coins, folded them neatly, and tucked them into Yuan Shiyuan's pocket, giving it a light pat.

"What, feeling sorry for Jiang Hang's money?" he snorted. "Why worry about him? Just go eat. They're as strong as oxen; they won't starve to death."

Yuan Shiyuan had no choice but to head to the buffet.

The buffet wasn't crowded at that hour, and Yuan Shiyuan brought his small backpack along.

After filling his stomach, he grabbed a tissue and, while wiping his mouth, scoped out the place.

Keeping a straight face, Yuan Shiyuan stuffed the napkins into his backpack.

Then, acting perfectly normal, he walked to the bakery section and quietly slipped bread and other food into his backpack, along with essentials—water.

Soon, a staff member noticed Yuan Shiyuan stockpiling food and immediately stepped in to stop him. "Hey—!"

    This wasn't allowed!

    It violated the show's rules.

The staff member was about to say so, but when he saw the pink-haired Alpha ahead, one hand gripping the backpack strap with slender, pale fingers, and above it, a pleading look on his face.

Yuan Shiyuan looked up at him with glistening, bright eyes.

The staff member's heart skipped a beat.

His face flushed rapidly. Though he was a beta, he felt as if he were being swayed by pheromones, and he mumbled dizzily, "O-okay, I didn't see anything."

The staff member quickly left but returned shortly with a bag. "Your backpack is too small. Use this bag... it's black, so it won't be easily noticed."

"Are you sure it's okay?" Yuan Shiyuan flashed a surprised smile, taking the bag, and his smile widened. "Thank you so much!"

"O-of course!" The staff member's voice trembled. "Do you need more bags? I can get you a few more..."

The production team watching the monitors: ??

Had their own staff member already switched sides?!

—Well, well! Smart Xiao Yuan, Mom gives you a thumbs-up!

—Good thing my baby isn't starving. I almost thought Xiao Yuan would go hungry.

—Yuan Shiyuan is quite clever and has a great sense for variety shows. He even thought to bring out a lot of food, probably for his teammates, right? This way, with just one payment, everyone can have lunch.

—This staff member is hilarious. He was so stern at first, but one look from Xiao Yuan and he was won over.

—Xiao Yuan is just that charming. [Smug]

Yuan Shiyuan returned, laden with two large bags of snacks.

The Alphas waiting for him at the door instinctively stepped forward to help carry the items.

Bao Jin asked curiously, "Did you steal everything inside?"

Yuan Shiyuan shot him a glare. "What do you mean 'steal'? I took it out in the open, and I paid for it, thank you."

"There's a lot of food here. The bread and such should keep us going for a few days. I couldn't bring hot food easily, so I just asked the staff for some takeout containers and packed a portion. The taste might not be great, though."

"Let's make do with this for now."

Jiang Hang was stunned. "You brought food for us too?"

"Of course. How could I eat alone?" Yuan Shiyuan said. "You have no idea how nervous I was inside, afraid of getting caught."

"But how could I let you go hungry?" he added. "You've already worked so hard."

    "..."

The Alphas felt a strange tug at their hearts, followed by an odd, electric sensation.

Yuan Shiyuan only needed to feed himself, yet he constantly remembered them. After filling his stomach at the buffet, he started gathering food for them like a little hamster.

It felt wonderful to be so constantly thought of and cared for.

Most of the hot food he brought out had already cooled, but they all agreed it was the most delicious meal in the world.

Yuan Shiyuan, already full, took the time to observe the surroundings. His sense of direction was poor, and he was somewhat directionally challenged, so he needed to memorize some landmarks.

He looked around for a while but felt that many places looked the same, with no distinct differences.

    This wasn't good.

Suddenly, Yuan Shiyuan noticed someone taking photos up ahead.

"Are there any modeling gigs or part-time jobs like that here?" he had a sudden idea. "Actually, Brother Mingxi, you could work as models. Isn't handing out flyers in mascot costumes too hot?"

"After all, Ying Mingche is 192.5 cm tall—he's definitely tall enough." Since they were twins, their heights should be similar.

Handing out flyers outdoors at noon by the sea, while wearing heavy mascot costumes—wouldn't that cause heatstroke?

Bao Jin became alert. "You remember Ying Mingche's height so clearly? Even down to the decimal point?"

"He just told me yesterday. I'm not senile yet," Yuan Shiyuan said. "My memory's just fine."

"Oh," Bao Jin said. "I'm 194.82 cm."

Even while sitting, Yuan Shiyuan had to look up at Bao Jin.

    He withdrew his gaze: "Oh."

"Height without shoes," Bao Jin said. "Ying Mingche's height includes his shoes."

    Yuan Shiyuan replied dismissively, "Mm-hmm."

*Is being so much taller than me in actual height something to boast about? :)*

With lunch settled, the Alphas officially began their part-time gigs.

On his way back, Yuan Shiyuan accidentally found the maid café he had been searching for!

The maid café he had been longing for and couldn’t find for so long was right in front of him!

Yuan Shiyuan glanced over for a better look.

Bao Jin turned his head forward again. "Still thinking about wearing a skirt?"

"What do you mean, *I* want to wear a skirt?" Why did that sound so weird?

Ying Mingche, who was ahead, turned around. "What skirt?"

The other Alphas, as if catching a keyword, quickly turned to look as well.

"You misheard," Yuan Shiyuan changed the subject.

Ying Mingche also noticed the maid café ahead. He pinched Yuan Shiyuan’s cheek. "You wouldn’t actually want to wear a skirt, would you?"

    "Little maid Yuan?"

"Be careful of running into perverts," Ying Mingche looked at him and laughed under his breath. "But with someone like you, it’s hard not to attract creeps."

    Yuan Shiyuan: "…Cut it out."

It was a perfectly legitimate job, but in their mouths, it sounded twisted. He said helplessly, "Even if I worked there, I’d just be wearing a skirt and selling coffee. Why does it sound like I’m filming adult videos?"

Ying Mingche: "I’d rather film adult videos than work there."

Yuan Shiyuan: "If you want to film, just say so."

"Who would film with me?" Ying Mingche glanced at him. "With you?"

Yuan Shiyuan: "Sure. If the money’s right, I’d film with you—or even with a few more people."

    "…?"

For once, the sharp-tongued Ying Mingche was at a loss for words.

After dropping off Yuan Shiyuan back at the suite, the group of Alphas got to work. Not long after lying down, Yuan Shiyuan felt bored and wide awake.

    He was itching to work.

Staying alone in the room was boring—his phone wasn’t entertaining, and he couldn’t nap. With all this free time, he might as well go to the maid café and sell some coffee.

Hold on, why did Bao Jin and the others insist he stay in the suite? Why couldn’t he work too?

Even if he wasn’t selling coffee in a skirt, there were plenty of side jobs he could do.

Yuan Shiyuan found it strangely reminiscent of alpha males with old-school attitudes who didn’t want their wives to work outside.

But the problem was, he wasn’t their wife, was he?

As an Alpha himself, how could he be a wife to so many people? There wouldn’t be enough to go around.

Yuan Shiyuan hadn’t been lying in bed for long and was about to sneak out to work when Bao Jin sent him a video call.

    *He’s checking in on me!*

Yuan Shiyuan quickly lay back down, pulled the blanket up to his chest, and answered the call.

The screen showed a face with disheveled pink hair and slightly flushed cheeks.

Bao Jin seemed momentarily stunned, then spoke with a hint of unease: "Were you sleeping?"

Yuan Shiyuan immediately played along, shooting him an annoyed look. "You knew and still asked?"

"Just checking if you’re following the rules."

Bao Jin said, "What if you’re still obsessed with wearing a skirt to film adult videos—or even group scenes? And if you leave me out again, not telling me, I wouldn’t know how to stop you. What then?"

"Can we drop the adult video joke already?" Yuan Shiyuan propped his head up. "And I’m not leaving you out—what happened at breakfast was an accident..."

Bao Jin didn’t believe him. "Accidents don’t happen that often."

"Fine, if I ever film adult videos, I’ll make sure to call you. Happy?"

    Bao Jin went quiet.

After the call ended, Bao Jin remained deep in thought.

Although their group wasn’t particularly famous, they were still far from having to resort to adult videos. Yuan Shiyuan’s earlier words, though meant as a joke, made him overthink it...

He also couldn’t help but recall the fanfiction about Yuan Shiyuan.

Admittedly, Yuan Shiyuan’s fans were bold and straightforward in their writing, portraying him like a little doll that could be manipulated at will.

Lately, Bao Jin had occasionally searched for fanfiction about himself and Yuan Shiyuan.

Unfortunately, their CP had few fans and even fewer fanworks. This was something he couldn’t understand or make sense of.

Why did fans always ship Yuan Shiyuan with other Alphas?

He was Yuan Shiyuan’s roommate—why couldn’t everyone see that he was the one closest to Yuan Shiyuan?

Yuan Shiyuan never expected Bao Jin to be so overly suspicious.

Perhaps the "exclusion" from the previous night and morning had put Bao Jin on high alert, making him extremely suspicious—even to the point of keeping tabs on him.

He was afraid Yuan Shiyuan would do something without his knowledge.

Yuan Shiyuan, on the other hand, complained that Bao Jin was overly possessive.

But he was naturally restless and disliked being controlled. Pretending to sleep, he had already sneaked out to work.

Yuan Shiyuan had a poor sense of direction and got lost, unable to find the maid café.

He had to ask someone on the street for directions.

The passerby pointed him in a direction, but instead of finding the maid café, he ended up at where Jiang Hang was working.

Since he was already here, Yuan Shiyuan decided to go in.

Jiang Hang was working. He had taken off his jacket, and his black tank top was soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to his body and outlining his broad shoulders and narrow waist. His shoulders were wide, his chest muscles full, looking very powerful.

Seeing Yuan Shiyuan approach, he was momentarily stunned, then immediately wiped the engine oil off his hands.

    "How did you get here?"

"I'm bored, so I came to find you." Actually, he had gotten lost and ended up here by chance.

Yuan Shiyuan said, "Do you need any help here? Let me help, so we can both earn double pay."

The top floor had a racetrack, and many customers came here to race. Any Alpha would be unable to resist such an intense, thrilling sport—unfortunately, he didn't even have a driver's license.

As much as he craved excitement, he still valued his life.

"No," Jiang Hang said. "This work is tiring and dirty."

He reeked of engine oil, which was unpleasant, especially on his hands. So even when speaking, he kept a certain distance from Yuan Shiyuan, afraid the smell would bother him.

"Go back and take a nap," Jiang Hang said. "I'll finish up soon and come play with you."

"Come on," Yuan Shiyuan didn’t want to go back so early. "How about you take me to the maid café? I’m going there for an interview."

Jiang Hang seemed easy to talk to. If he could cover for him in the future, that would be great. Yuan Shiyuan didn’t want to be nagged by Bao Jin again—if he could hide it from Bao Jin, he would.

As for the others... they didn't have Bao Jin's 'dad vibe,' so they should be easier to handle.

"Just sitting around doing nothing is really boring. I want something to do."

    "Brother Hang, take me there."

Yuan Shiyuan stepped forward, hooking his fingers into Jiang Hang’s pants pocket and gently tugging. He looked up and whispered, "Please."

    "..."

"You really want to interview at a maid café?"

The boss glanced at Yuan Shiyuan and smiled. "Our job requires wearing a uniform. Do you know what that means? Maid outfits, sailor uniforms... all skirts."

    "You're an Alpha."

Yuan Shiyuan: "What’s wrong with being an Alpha? Boss, you can’t discriminate against Alphas."

Boss: "If you're capable, we can hire you. But we’ll need to do a simple test. If you pass, you can start right away."

They walked over to the coffee machine. "Do you know how to use this?"

    "Yes."

Yuan Shiyuan certainly did—it was his forte. He added, "I can even do latte art."

    Yuan Shiyuan quickly demonstrated.

His hands were steady, and a layered heart pattern floated on the coffee. He said, "I can do other shapes too."

The frothy milk foam, under Yuan Shiyuan’s skilled hands, formed various patterns—a small swan, a tulip, a kitten...

A nearby employee exclaimed in surprise, "Your hands are so steady!"

Yuan Shiyuan curled his lips smugly.

"I know lots of patterns," he said. "If a customer requests a specific design, as long as it’s not too complicated, I can do it."

    Boss: "You’ve passed the interview."

Latte art was a piece of cake for Yuan Shiyuan.

Choosing what to wear, however, left him conflicted.

The dressing room had a whole wall of outfits—all kinds of skirts. In another cabinet were white stockings, black stockings, garter belts, and small accessories like cat ears and leg garters.

To Yuan Shiyuan, the skirts didn’t look all that different.

Too lazy to mix and match, he randomly picked a matching set.

When Yuan Shiyuan looked in the mirror again, he was wearing a classic black-and-white maid dress. A red bow tie, like a gift ribbon, adorned his neck, and a small cut-out heart below the collarbone revealed a glimpse of pale skin. On his head were black-and-pink cat ears, and soft lace with bells wrapped around his wrists jingled with every slight movement.

When he turned his head, he could see a fluffy tail dangling behind him.

Yuan Shiyuan shook his hips, and the tail swayed along, emitting a subtle, bell-like chime.

He had thought an Alpha wearing these things would look strange...

But it didn’t seem as weird as he’d imagined?

With the outfit settled, it was time for the stockings.

Yuan Shiyuan casually opened a package of black garter stockings. His reason for choosing them was simple—the color matched the maid dress. But when he pulled the stockings all the way up, the lace connecting to his thighs pressed tightly against his skin, rubbing with every step and movement.

At first, it was tolerable, but after just a few steps, Yuan Shiyuan’s knees went weak uncontrollably. He leaned against the wall, palms braced on the cabinet, breathing slowly.

    Forget it...

Maybe garter stockings just weren’t for him.

When he’d worn leg garters before, he hadn’t been this sensitive or uncomfortable.

Yuan Shiyuan quickly took off the garter stockings. But since he’d already worn them, he couldn’t exactly put them back. He told the boss and stuffed the stockings into his pocket.

Then, he changed into white stockings and officially started working.

Yuan Shiyuan held a menu in his arms and warmly greeted customers as they entered: "Hello, would you like to order a drink?"

"Yes! Yes!" A slender Omega answered excitedly.

Yuan Shiyuan recognized him—it was Song Mian, the assistant he’d met during the magazine shoot.

"What a coincidence, running into you again," he said, guessing the other was probably an NPC arranged by the production team. He bent down to pull out a chair, placed the menu on the table, and kindly explained, "What would you like to drink? The items marked with an asterisk are our specialties... If you order coffee, you can customize the latte art."

"I’ll take the most expensive one!"

Song Mian didn’t even glance at the menu. As he looked up, his eyes landed on the bow tie around Yuan Shiyuan’s neck. Flustered, he averted his gaze, only to see the lace bells on Yuan Shiyuan’s wrists...

He swallowed hard, then looked down further, his eyes instantly glazing over.

    White... white stockings...

Such long, pale legs... dazzlingly white legs.

Song Mian felt dizzy, his breathing growing increasingly rapid. He sneakily glanced at Yuan Shiyuan's face—Yuan Shiyuan was still wearing a friendly, enthusiastic smile.

Ashamed, he lowered his head. He was the worst... Yuan Shiyuan was smiling so brightly at him, yet he was having all sorts of inappropriate thoughts.

Sorry, Yuan Shiyuan, for thinking such improper things about you.

"I want to order this, ten cups!" Song Mian pointed at the most expensive drink, priced at 800 Star Coins.

The more expensive the drink, the higher the commission—which would clearly benefit Yuan Shiyuan—but he still shook his head and said, "Let’s start with one cup, okay? If you still want more after finishing, we can order new ones, and maybe try different flavors."

"Drinking too much coffee in one day isn't good for you," he added softly. "Besides, you might not be able to finish it all."

As Yuan Shiyuan spoke, he leaned forward slightly. The heart-shaped cutout beneath his red bowtie shifted downward. Though it didn't reveal much more skin, the teasing glimpse held an indescribable allure.

Song Mian couldn’t take it all in. He felt dizzy from looking, hardly hearing what Yuan Shiyuan said, his face flushed as he nodded eagerly.

"Alright, one hot latte then," Yuan Shiyuan said. "Any specific pattern you'd like? If not, I'll go with something random."

Song Mian looked surprised. "You can do latte art too?"

"Yes, as long as it's not too complicated, I can manage."

    "Anything is fine!"

After speaking, Song Mian realized his voice had been too loud, so he lowered it to a whisper. "I’ll love anything you make..."

"Then I'll go with a random design," Yuan Shiyuan smiled at Song Mian and was about to leave when the omega tugged his sleeve.

Yuan Shiyuan turned his head, and the omega quickly let go, his face burning red. He seemed to struggle to find the words but gathered his courage to speak.

    "Can I... touch your tail?"

Yuan Shiyuan was taken aback but then generously pulled the tail around to the front and offered it to Song Mian. "Of course."

"You can touch it however you like, sir."

Yuan Shiyuan could guess that Song Mian was a fan of his.

Even though Song Mian never said it outright, often just watching from a distance, every time he looked at Yuan Shiyuan, his eyes lit up with joy and admiration.

That kind of adoration was impossible to hide.

Touching his tail wasn’t too much to ask, especially not for a fan who supported him.

But for some reason, after touching the tail, Song Mian looked flushed and dazed, like he’d had too much to drink.

Yuan Shiyuan tugged at his tail curiously—it wasn’t like he’d drugged it or anything, right?

"Please wait a moment, I’ll bring your coffee right away," he said. "If you’d like, you can also watch me make the latte art."

Without hesitation, Song Mian hurried over to Yuan Shiyuan’s side.

He kept praising him the entire time: "Yuan Shiyuan, you’re so amazing!"

Compliments like this really got to Yuan Shiyuan—he loved being praised. "I’ve practiced for a long time. I’ll make you a marshmallow puppy pattern... it’s cute, you’ll definitely like it."

The look in Song Mian’s eyes when he gazed at Yuan Shiyuan was beyond just admiration.

Meanwhile, Pei Yanbing had made a good amount of money. Thanks to his handsome looks and beautiful violin music, many customers requested violin solos.

Occasionally, he ran into fans of his own or Yuan Shiyuan’s fans.

Many excited fans would pull him aside and ask, "Where’s Yuan Yuan? Is he nearby?"

Pei Yanbing: "He’s sleeping in his room."

Seeing that they wouldn’t get more information, the fans left disappointed.

After finishing a violin piece, Pei Yanbing approached the supervisor. "I need a ten-minute break."

Pei Yanbing stepped outside for some fresh air.

The café was relatively quiet, but outside, the crowd was bustling and noisy. He wasn’t used to such clamorous environments—he preferred to stay in the background, like a ghost.

Walking down a long corridor, Pei Yanbing reached a shaded spot under a pavilion and stared out at the ocean in the distance. After about five or six minutes, he withdrew his gaze and was about to go back to the restaurant when—

Through the glass wall to the side, a pink-haired alpha wearing a dress walked toward a table, setting down coffee from his tray.

Inside the café, Yuan Shiyuan had just served a customer coffee. The customer insisted on tipping him. He gave a warm smile, and though it was unclear what the customer said, he nodded happily.

Then, he offered up the cat ears on his head for the customer to touch, even tilting his head to rub against the customer’s palm.

Pei Yanbing watched as Yuan Shiyuan, with his back turned, bent over. As he lowered his head, the back of his dress naturally lifted, exposing his long legs fully—a risky angle.

Those slender, pale legs were covered in soft, sheer white stockings. Under the glass’s reflective light, the pink hue at the back of his knees was strikingly visible. If one were to get any closer, even areas that shouldn’t be seen would become perfectly clear.

    Pei Yanbing’s eyes widened suddenly.
