Chapter 1 He Can Make Your Wishes Come True
byChapter 1: He Can Make Your Wish Come True
This was the sixth time Lin Juangui had involuntarily signed the contract.
He held a pen, facing a man in a sharp suit. Beside the man stood an eager-looking couple, and leaning against the cabinet opposite was a black-haired boy, appearing almost translucent, as if a 70% opacity layer had been applied to him.
The boy winked and grinned impishly at Lin Juangui: "What did I tell you? Your soul is bound to this world now. You can't leave until my wish is fulfilled."
"..."
The boy looked exactly as Lin Juangui had during his university days: a slender neck, straight shoulders, and skin so fair and lustrous it was almost ethereal, beautiful to an uncanny degree, yet with a hint of youthful naiveté.
However, his expression was utterly malicious, seemingly relishing Lin Juangui's torment.
The first time Lin Juangui crossed over, the boy before him had raised a hand in greeting, appearing quite friendly.
"Hello, me from another world. I am [Lin Juangui]. You are currently in a novel set in an interstellar ABO universe. The protagonists are two shameless Alphas. As for me—that is, the current you—I'm a cannon-fodder Omega supporting character, serving as a stand-in."
Three months prior, the Lin family had faced a crisis due to a failed investment.
As the Lin family's only child and currently the most prized Omega in the Federation, [Lin Juangui] was pressured by his parents into a marriage alliance with a family capable of injecting capital into the Lin enterprise.
In essence, they were trading their son for survival.
Such arrangements were commonplace among affluent families. Even [Lin Juangui]'s unwillingness offered no recourse. He threw a tantrum at home, only to be confined to the top-floor attic, forbidden from even stepping outside.
By then, [Lin Juangui] had already been sold for a substantial sum. The other party dispatched an assistant to finalize the contract and instructed [Lin Juangui] to pack his belongings promptly and depart with him.
Lin Juangui, having just transmigrated, found the entire situation utterly absurd.
His boyfriend had died three months ago. Though the culprit had been apprehended, his remains were still missing.
After settling affairs in his original world, Lin Juangui intended to continue his search for his boyfriend's remains, but the plane he was on met with an accident.
Yet, Lin Juangui's life did not end. Instead, he found himself in a world entirely unknown to him.
Lin Juangui dismissed it as a bizarre dream. After signing the contract and returning to the attic, he spotted a fruit knife and decisively ended his life.
He expected the dream to conclude.
But it didn't.
Initially, Lin Juangui wasn't entirely distraught. His life experiences had instilled enough resilience to withstand minor setbacks. However, the boy who looked exactly like him declared that no matter what he tried, it was futile—unless the wish was fulfilled, Lin Juangui would repeatedly return to the moment immediately after signing the contract.
Only a fool would believe such nonsense.
By the third time Lin Juangui watched himself sign the contract, his expression had become distorted.
He rushed to the kitchen, seized a knife, flailed it wildly, and once again ended his life.
Upon reopening his eyes, he was back in the state immediately following the contract signing.
There was no escape. Nothing worked.
He cycled through, again and again.
From initial extreme self-destruction to eventual complete acceptance, Lin Juangui grew progressively calmer.
His dense, raven-black eyelashes drooped slightly, obscuring his dark, night-like eyes.
He gazed at the person seated opposite him, a subtly eerie smile gracing his lips. "Mr. Ge, regarding this contract, I still have a few questions."
Ge Miao suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. He reached out to retrieve the contract from Lin Juangui's hand: "The specific terms have been reviewed by professional lawyers; there shouldn't be any issues. Please rest—"
Before he could utter "assured," Ge Miao watched in disbelief as Lin Juangui tore the contract to shreds.
The contract was utterly annihilated into fragments. Ge Miao's eyes widened, unable to comprehend how events had escalated to this point.
The Lin parents, standing nearby, gasped in alarm, demanding to know what madness had possessed Lin Juangui!
Lin Juangui tossed the shredded contract to the floor and offered Ge Miao a polite smile. "After all, I am the one who must fulfill these duties. I would prefer to sit down with your boss and discuss the details thoroughly. That would be more responsible for both parties, rather than rushing through it so carelessly."
Lin Juangui had meticulously reviewed the terms of this contract after the fourth loop.
"First, Party B must release pheromones to soothe Party A during Party A's rut."
"Second, Party A has no obligation to assist Party B through their heat."
"Third..."
Lin Juangui read each clause aloud, and when he reached the part stating that Party B would receive Party A's investment in the Lin family business, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
It was utterly preposterous.
So unfair.
[Lin Juangui] stated matter-of-factly, "For Mu Zhang, there's no such thing as fair or unfair. If he wants something, he gets it."
As one of the main male leads, Mu Zhang had been born into privilege. Although he later faced family turmoil and a bitter falling out with his grandfather, his abilities were more than sufficient for him to navigate the cosmos. Organizing a vast fleet as a space pirate was child's play for him.
Currently, Mu Zhang was a renowned arms dealer in the Federation. His business spanned the universe, and even the military had to collaborate with him, purchasing supplies from his enterprise.
As a male lead, Mu Zhang possessed far more than just this. He operated outside military and political spheres, establishing his own faction. Everyone treated him with deference—such was the prerogative of a protagonist.
However, as an Alpha, he could never escape the torment of his rut.
Even in university, Mu Zhang had been drawn to Mu Yuanqing, who was also an Alpha.
Mu Zhang believed Omegas were delicate and useless, incapable of enduring hardship. Alphas were more to his liking.
This mindset persisted until powerful inhibitors proved ineffective for Mu Zhang, at which point he decided to keep an Omega at home as his personal human inhibitor.
[Lin Juangui] didn't present as an Omega until he was seventeen. During a medical examination, the doctor informed him that his pheromones were unique—everyone could detect their most desired scent on him.
In other words, [Lin Juangui] possessed an extraordinary allure for everyone.
[Lin Juangui]'s profile was noticed by one of Mu Zhang's subordinates and subsequently placed on Mu Zhang's desk.
Mu Zhang found it intriguing and even orchestrated a memorable encounter to leave a lasting impression on [Lin Juangui].
After detecting [Lin Juangui]'s pheromone scent, Mu Zhang was quite pleased and selected [Lin Juangui] to become the stand-in for his white moonlight.
But for [Lin Juangui], it was a complete and utter calamity.
"Mu Zhang signed a three-year contract with me."
"I was supported by Mu Zhang at home, free from schooling, with all my needs met, and any treasure I desired at my disposal."
"I lived like a ghost in Luochen Manor."
"I severed all ties with my past."
"The only person I could see was Mu Zhang, and the only thing I anticipated were the days during his rut when he needed me."
It sounded utterly despairing just to hear it.
In high school, [Lin Juangui] was the dazzling campus heartthrob—handsome, with unique pheromones, and surrounded by many friends.
He had originally planned to attend university on Cloud Harbor Star with his friends, but his parents believed an Omega shouldn't venture too far and unilaterally enrolled him in an art school near home.
For this, [Lin Juangui] argued with his parents all summer. Refusing to eat or drink proved futile; all he received was endless criticism, with his parents accusing him of being ungrateful for their upbringing.
It wasn’t until he saw Mu Zhang that he realized this was the Alpha he had fallen for at first sight during a banquet.
What a coincidence, [Lin Juangui] consoled himself, thinking there was no point in resisting since nothing could be changed anyway.
He pinned his hopes for survival on Mu Zhang.
Mu Zhang was sometimes kind to [Lin Juangui], but at other times, he treated [Lin Juangui] as if he were invisible.
[Lin Juangui] didn’t mind this. He even felt sympathy for Mu Zhang when the latter suffered through his rut.
However, [Lin Juangui] forgot that he was merely a stand-in.
When the three-year contract concluded, Mu Zhang was already with his white moonlight. [Lin Juangui]'s existence became an indelible thorn in the side of the two protagonists, yet Mu Zhang insisted on pretending his past actions had never occurred.
[Lin Juangui] was cast out of Luochen Manor, becoming a complete laughingstock.
Those three blank years were a disgrace to [Lin Juangui]. How could he possibly accept it? After profound heartbreak, he completely transformed into the villain the plot demanded—the once kind and gentle Omega eventually morphed into this ruthless and malicious figure.
He tried every means to appear before Mu Yuanqing, recounting everything Mu Zhang had done over the years.
But the response [Lin Juangui] received was: "Mu Zhang has already told me about these things. I understand your resentment, but didn’t you sign a contract? You’ve gotten what you wanted, so why are you trying to drive a wedge between Mu Zhang and me?"
Those shameless Alphas deserved to die!
How could [Lin Juangui] possibly let it go? Just as he was formulating a plan to break up Mu Zhang and Mu Yuanqing, he received a strange warning.
His vision filled with red exclamation marks, and a mechanical voice echoed in [Lin Juangui]'s mind.
It turned out [Lin Juangui] was a cannon-fodder substitute in a typical ABO interstellar novel. His purpose was to make Mu Zhang constantly yearn for his white moonlight, Mu Yuanqing, during those three years, thereby enabling Mu Yuanqing to effortlessly gain moral leverage and control over Mu Zhang.
As a cannon-fodder character, [Lin Juangui] had no further role after being expelled from Luochen Manor. His attempts to cause trouble exceeded the plot’s scope and were not permitted. The system advised him against futile resistance.
But how could [Lin Juangui] accept this?
"Why?! Why can’t I seek revenge? Am I just some plaything to be summoned and dismissed at will? Even if Mu Zhang exhausts all his means, he can’t completely erase me! So what if they kill me?! If Mu Yuanqing can turn a blind eye to Mu Zhang’s past with me, it only proves he doesn’t truly love Mu Zhang! The logic of this novel is utter nonsense! I can’t believe people read it! Bah!"
Perhaps [Lin Juangui]'s resentment was too intense, as the system unexpectedly offered him a chance to be reborn to a certain plot point.
Given the opportunity, [Lin Juangui] naturally wouldn’t let it slip.
But [Lin Juangui]'s troublemaking only provoked ruthless retaliation from Mu Zhang.
[Lin Juangui] was reborn three times, but each time, he failed to survive until Mu Zhang and Mu Yuanqing got together.
The novel also inexplicably lost its intended ending.
In simpler terms—
It was left unfinished.
Through his defiance, [Lin Juangui] earned the role of the novel’s antagonist, not only deviating from the original plot but nearly causing the entire dimension to collapse.
The system was utterly exhausted.
Its attempts to fix the logic failed, and instead, [Lin Juangui] gradually became the central character of the book.
Unless [Lin Juangui] achieved his wish once, he would never give up.
But [Lin Juangui] was too low-level to outsmart the two Alphas. How could he possibly succeed in his revenge and achieve a grand finale?
While being pursued by Mu Yuanqing’s forces, [Lin Juangui] seemed to have a moment of clarity and played an intense, explosive rock song on the starship.
"If you’re so capable, find someone who can help me outsmart Mu Zhang and Mu Yuanqing! I just want revenge on Mu Zhang. Someone like him doesn’t deserve a happy ending! Why should he end up happily with Mu Yuanqing? Is he even worthy?"
Indeed, as the main protagonist, Mu Zhang’s way of loving Mu Yuanqing in this novel was to find a substitute. Substitutes aren’t worthless—why should they be mere stepping stones in someone else’s love story?
And Mu Yuanqing could so easily disregard [Lin Juangui]’s existence, even overlooking past misunderstandings and Mu Zhang’s manipulation, choosing to stay with Mu Zhang anyway!
Was the happy ending just forced because the plot couldn't be resolved? [Lin Juangui] seethed.
After [Lin Juangui]’s relentless pestering, the system searched across multiple dimensions and found Lin Juangui, whose soul had left his body after a plane crash.
"You can think of him as an upgraded version of yourself. He can make your wish come true."
And so, Lin Juangui opened his eyes.
