Chapter 393: Crossdressing Expert
by 枕星鱼Chapter 393: He Is a Crossdresser
Hua Feixue's slender fingers pinched the blade, twirling it into an elegant flourish.
"Tell me, how do you want to die?"
Ji Yuntang cursed inwardly, "What a pretentious poser," but kept a smile on her face. "But... I don't want to die just yet!"
"You don't get a say in that!"
Hua Feixue's eyes turned cold, silver light flashing in his hand as the curved blade in his fingertips slashed at Ji Yuntang's neck.
Just then, a knock came at the door, and Qiu Zhu's voice floated in from the room next door.
"Miss Hua, I got those glutinous rice cakes you wanted. Could you open the door?"
Hearing this, Hua Feixue quickly tucked away his blade and schooled his features.
He gave Ji Yuntang a warning look, cleared his throat, and said, "Got it. Put the rice cakes in the carriage for now. Go buy me some brown sugar pastries as well—I'm craving those too."
Since the rooms were next to each other and he was speaking right by the door, Qiu Zhu naturally assumed Hua Feixue was inside.
She said "Yes" again and headed downstairs with the rice cakes.
A wicked smile tugged at the corner of Hua Feixue's lips. As he lightly lifted the hem of his robe, the curved blade at his waist came into view once more.
He stared at Ji Yuntang for two seconds, then, with a flick of his palm, grabbed the blade and lunged at her again.
Ji Yuntang quickly retreated, shouting, "If you take one more step, I swear I'll call her back right now and tell her you're a guy!"
At that, Hua Feixue actually stopped.
A mocking smile curled on his red lips. "Little Bastard, you dare threaten me? Do you think this Sect Master is scared?"
Ji Yuntang kept circling him, racking her brain for a way out.
She felt she really should have checked the almanac before leaving today—she'd run into two mad dogs who both wanted her dead.
Luo Feizhou wasn't nearly as dangerous as the man in front of her.
She hadn't forgotten how twisted Blood Flower, that bastard, had been back at the Blood Rain Sect.
More importantly, he seemed to have gunpowder in his possession—how could an ordinary assassin organization have something like that?
This alone was enough to prove that this bastard was far more complicated than she had imagined.
"Little Bastard, you've got a decent-looking face. How about this—if this Sect Master peeled it off and embroidered a peony on it, wouldn't that be pretty?"
Ji Yuntang cursed inwardly: "Pretty my ass! Your own face peeled off would be the prettiest sight!"
Hua Feixue closed in step by step. Ji Yuntang gritted her teeth, grabbed a handful of poison powder, and threw it at his face.
"Pervert, go to hell!"
But to her surprise, Hua Feixue's Internal Energy blocked the powder before it could reach him.
With a wave of his sleeve, the powder vanished into thin air.
"That useless man fell for your poison—do you think this Sect Master would fall for the same trick?"
The "useless man" he meant was, of course, Luo Feizhou.
Ji Yuntang rolled her eyes. Who was it that fell for her poison back at the Blood Rain Sect?
He'd passed out and gotten slapped by her a few times—how did he have the nerve to say that now?
Sure enough, the prettier the man, the more poisonous.
Suddenly, Ji Yuntang frowned, sensing that something was off.
Why would the Blood Rain Sect Master ditch his position to come to the capital dressed as a woman, going by the name Miss Hua?
"Miss Hua..." Ji Yuntang repeated the name to herself, and strangely, it sounded familiar.
Then, a lightbulb went off in her head. She stared at Blood Flower in disbelief.
"Miss Hua—could you be that woman named Hua Feixue that Ji Qingfeng brought back, vowing to marry her?"
This realization almost made Ji Yuntang's jaw drop.
She felt like she'd stumbled onto yet another earth-shattering secret.
Before, she might have even had to call Hua Feixue "sister-in-law."
But now, the more she thought about it, the weirder—and kind of hilarious—it got.
Ji Yuntang could tell from the livid look on Hua Feixue's face that she'd guessed right!
She raised an eyebrow and teased, "Ji Qingfeng isn't into guys either—does he know the person he's going to marry is a man?"
"Or is it that you're the one into men, willingly dressing up in women's clothes to move into the Marquis's mansion, just to be by his side?"
"Tsk tsk, this damn love—why am I getting a little emotional?"
Ji Yuntang's guesses got more and more ridiculous, and Hua Feixue's face got darker and darker.
What the hell was going on in this woman's head?
Unable to hold back, he slammed his palm on the table. A surge of powerful internal energy burst out, and the table shattered into pieces.
"Shut up! Say one more word, and this Sect Master will kill you on the spot!"
Ji Yuntang actually shut her mouth.
This lunatic—she couldn't afford to piss him off.
Seeing her so obedient, Hua Feixue was a bit taken aback. He sneered, "Don't think this Sect Master doesn't know—you just poisoned Prince Qi and conned him out of three hundred thousand taels of silver."
"What do you think—if I spread that news, do you think your head would stay on your shoulders?"
Ji Yuntang felt this bastard was just relentless. Did he get physically uncomfortable if he didn't kill someone?
He was seriously messed up!
She cleared her throat and proposed to Hua Feixue, "Blood Master, for love... no, you've graciously lowered yourself to fancy Ji Qingfeng and willingly move into Marquis Yongning's mansion—surely you wouldn't want anyone to know your real identity."
"How about we make a deal? This Princess will pretend I never saw you today, and I don't know you're a guy. You never saw me either, and you didn't hear anything about me poisoning Prince Qi. We keep each other's secrets and get along peacefully—how about that?"
Hua Feixue furrowed his brow, seemingly pondering her proposal. Ji Yuntang quickly added another line.
"Think about it, if I were to die in this room, wouldn't everyone outside immediately suspect you first?"
"And then, wouldn't your identity and your secrets all be exposed?"
Hearing her say this, Hua Feixue found it somewhat reasonable. Killing her to expose her own identity would indeed be a loss that outweighs any gain.
After a moment of thought, she said, "Fine, I, as the Sect Master, agree to your terms."
Ji Yuntang gave her a thumbs up. "Blood Master—oh wait, Miss Hua, you're really straightforward."
"Then it's settled between us—you won't reveal my secret, and I won't reveal yours. You continue being Miss Hua, and I'll continue being Princess Ye. We'll pretend we never met."
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now. See you never."
With that, Ji Yuntang flashed her a smile, waved, and turned to walk away. She moved cautiously, wary of Hua Feixue attacking her from behind.
Seeing this, Hua Feixue let out a cold scoff. "Hmph, since this Sect Master has given her word, I won't go back on it. Sneak attacks and murder aren't my style. So walk out with confidence."
At her words, Ji Yuntang immediately straightened her back and strode out with brisk, confident steps.
