Chapter 133: Transmigrated into a Vintage CEO Novel, Day Twenty-Four (End)

    Comments section:

    “????????”

    “???????????????”

    “What did I just see?”

“Isn’t this a CEO romance novel? Where did this superpower come from?”

    “Is the author crazy?!”

“Is the author going to write about spiritual energy revival later? Don’t do it!”

“How the fuck is this any different from an ancient political intrigue story suddenly turning into fighting aliens?”

“So An Yi isn’t calm by nature—he’s actually badass and fearless!”

“Turns out An Yi isn’t the dumbass—the author is!”

“‘Will you leave?’ — Boohoo, he’s scared! He’s really scared of losing An Yi!”

    “‘Not in this lifetime.’ — Ahhh, that’s a promise! That’s a promise!”

“But ‘this lifetime’... that’s a freaky thought! Has An Yi lived many lifetimes?!”

“Why are this novel’s elements so chaotic?!”

“It’s fine, the appearance of superpowers is good for the world, because you can literally step on your own feet to fly.”

“The guy above is crazy too? (Eye roll)”

“The author’s brain is like Kennedy in a convertible—blown wide open, total brain hole!”

    “...”

    An Yi: ...

He laughed for no apparent reason. Perhaps the author would find it strange too.

Outside the tent, the rainstorm still poured tirelessly, as if to wash away all dust from the world.

Inside the tent, Gu Mingzhi held An Yi tightly. And An Yi quietly stayed in his arms, his gaze distant, no one could see the boundless ocean of time in his heart.

“This lifetime,” to him, might be nothing more than a fleeting moment of time.

But to Gu Mingzhi, it was everything.

    ----------

Inside the tent, the air still carried the aftermath of the earth-shattering events, along with the damp cold from the rain.

Gu Mingzhi continued to hold An Yi tightly, as if letting go would cause the person in his arms to dissipate like mist.

Through the soaked clothes, An Yi could clearly feel Gu Mingzhi’s slight trembling and lower-than-normal body temperature.

He moved slightly, and Gu Mingzhi immediately tightened his arms.

“Don’t be afraid.” An Yi’s voice was low and steady, carrying a strange, soothing power. “Let’s dry off first, or you’ll get sick.”

Without further explanation, he gently raised one hand, his palm hovering over Gu Mingzhi’s drenched back.

Gu Mingzhi felt an indescribable, gentle yet vast power instantly enveloped his entire body.

Wherever that power passed, the cold, sticky dampness vanished like morning dew evaporated by sunlight. In a blink, his clothes—once soaked with mud—became completely dry, warm, and comfortable, as if they had been carefully ironed and dried. Even the mud stains from climbing earlier disappeared without a trace.

Gu Mingzhi froze again, looking down at his now dry sleeves, the shock in his eyes was beyond measure.

An Yi withdrew his hand and said casually, “All set.”

Gu Mingzhi stared at him blankly, opened his mouth, but found his throat too parched to make a sound.

He had so many questions, so many doubts that needed answers, but under An Yi’s calm, unfathomable gaze—one that seemed to hold the stars and oceans—all his questions felt so pointless.

What was the point of asking? Could he even understand? Could he accept it?

In the end, he just swallowed hard, forcing all the churning turmoil back into the depths of his heart.

Whatever An Yi was—god, demon, monster, or immortal—right now, he was in his arms, promising not to leave “in this lifetime.” That was enough.

He couldn’t ask for anything more.

Watching him struggle to digest this and force calmness, An Yi’s eyes flickered.

He didn’t say anything more. With a mere thought, the next moment, Gu Mingzhi saw a flash before his eyes. A neatly folded set of soft, comfortable clean clothes, a fluffy towel, some warm water of the right temperature, and a portable wash kit suddenly appeared on the small empty space in the tent.

    Gu Mingzhi: “!!!”

Space storage? Or creating something from nothing?!

“Go to the back, wash up quickly, and change out of your wet clothes, so you don’t get sick.” An Yi pointed to the relatively spacious area at the rear of the tent. “The water temperature is just right.”

Gu Mingzhi mechanically took the towel and clothes. The solid feel of the fabric brought him back to reality.

He moved to the back of the tent as instructed, using the camp lantern light, used the warm water An Yi provided to wash up quickly, and changed into the clean clothes.

The clothes were a bit too small, but the fabric felt soft against his skin, carrying a clean, sun-dried scent—very much like the smell on An Yi.

This calmed his racing heart a little, as if gently wrapped in that scent.

When he was done and moved back to An Yi’s side, though still in a daze, he at least no longer looked like a total mess.

An Yi was sipping hot water from a thermos cup. Seeing him approach, he naturally handed the cup over. “Have some hot water. It’ll chase away the cold.”

Gu Mingzhi took the cup, his fingertips brushing An Yi’s cool fingers, and his heart trembled again.

Holding the warm cup, he took a few sips as told. The warm liquid slid down his throat, into his stomach, bringing a real warmth that seemed to pull him back slightly from the surreal shock.

Outside the tent, the savage storm had, at some point, gradually subsided.

It was still raining, but no longer with the overwhelming force that had made his heart pound. Now it became a fine, gentle drizzle, softly pattering on the tent with a rustling sound, like a lover’s whisper.

The distant thunder had long died away, leaving only the serene sound of rain washing over the mountain forest.

The two sat side by side at the tent opening. An Yi pulled the flap open a little, and a rush of humid air carrying the scent of earth and grass surged in, refreshing the spirit.

They gazed at the dark, silent wilderness shrouded in rain outside the tent. Though the clouds still blocked the sky and the anticipated meteor shower wasn't going to happen, who cared about that now?

Having just experienced such heart-stopping thrills and their understanding turned upside down, to be able to sit safely in the dry, warm tent, listening to the gentle rain, breathing the fresh air, with someone beside them so incredible and yet real—this was already the greatest blessing.

Gu Mingzhi quietly turned his head to look at An Yi's profile, softly lit by the camp light.

His eyelashes were long, his nose bridge straight, his lips rosy from the hot drink. He gazed peacefully at the rain outside, his expression calm, as if the miracle of controlling the rain and summoning objects from thin air had been nothing but a dream Gu Mingzhi had.

But the dry and comfortable clothes on his body, the warmth in his stomach—all silently proved it was real.

A complex, indescribable emotion—a mix of awe, infatuation, unease, and immense happiness—filled Gu Mingzhi's chest. He stealthily and extremely slowly reached out, gently hooking his pinky around An Yi's pinky that rested by his side.

An Yi's finger twitched slightly, but he didn't pull away.

Gu Mingzhi's heart instantly settled back into place, and a great surge of warmth and courage flooded through him. He took advantage of the moment, covering An Yi's entire hand with his own, interlacing their fingers and holding tight.

Finally, An Yi turned his head to look at him.

Their eyes met in the warm light.

Their fingers interlaced, their body heat mingled.

On this nameless mountain peak after the sudden downpour had just ended, in this small, warmly lit tent, there were only the two of them.

As if the entire world had shrunk to just the hands clasped together and the soft, murmuring sound of rain outside the tent.

The universe was vast, and though the meteor shower had not appeared, the warmth in his palm right now was more real and lasting than the fleeting starlight.

Without anyone noticing, the rain had completely stopped.

Only the occasional drop of water falling from the edge of the tent made a crisp sound.

The dark clouds gradually dispersed, and in the deep blue sky, a few exceptionally bright stars unexpectedly appeared, like diamonds washed clean by the rain, glittering softly.

Gu Mingzhi held An Yi's hand tightly, looked at the sparse stars on the horizon, then turned to gaze at the peaceful and beautiful profile of the person beside him. His heart was filled with a huge, swelling happiness and a pang of melancholy.

He knew that the secrets within An Yi were as vast as the universe itself, and he might spend a lifetime without ever fully understanding them.

    But it didn't matter.

In this lifetime, he had grasped hold.

    He would never let go.
