Chapter 3: Into Long Aotian’s World, Day 3
byChapter 3: Day Three of Transmigrating into a Long Aotian Story
“Hiss—” An Yi sucked in a sharp breath, doing his bit for global warming.
“Hey~”
“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking? And with that look on your face.”
Huang Chan reached over and lightly nudged An Yi’s arm, snapping him out of it.
“Ahem!”
An Yi coughed, slung an arm around Huang Chan, and hauled him into a dark corner.
“What’s up??” Huang Chan’s face was full of confusion. “What’s with all the secrecy today?”
An Yi led Huang Chan to the corner and said, “Nothing. Just tired from work today, that’s all.”
Huang Chan sympathized deeply: “I hear you, I hear you... That gig of yours... tch.” He patted An Yi’s arm. “When this wraps up, I’ll grab a few drinks with you, bro!”
“Booze cures everything!!”
“Got no sorrows, thanks.” An Yi ruthlessly called him out. “And you just want to drink, don’t you?”
Huang Chan’s face flushed red: “How dare you slander me like that!!”
“What did you mean by ‘good show’ earlier? Dugu Yuan and Yang Sisi often show up at the same banquets, what made it not interesting before?” An Yi cut off his rambling and asked.
Huang Chan’s face immediately took on a sly, creepy grin, his eyes squinting with glee: “Today, hey~”
“Today they’re not just showing up at the same banquet; Yang Sisi’s got a big surprise in store!!!”
An Yi looked at Huang Chan’s lecherous expression with suspicion: “A big move? She’s not gonna call off the engagement, is she?”
“Whoa~” Huang Chan’s eyes widened with excitement. “I got it from one of Yang Sisi’s friends. Where did you get your info??”
Huang Chan’s eyes were as round as saucers. “Nice, Chairman An, you’re in the know!”
An Yi was shocked, like a bolt out of the blue: “Damn!! The breaking-off-the-engagement trope!!!”
Huang Chan’s expression grew even more excited: “What does that even mean? What trope? Do you know any inside scoop? Spill it to your buddy!”
An Yi pushed him away: “Back off, you nosy bastard!!”
“Heyyy, come on, spill it! Don’t be cheap!”
Just as Huang Chan was pestering An Yi, the banquet hall doors burst open.
A tall, lean figure stepped into the light. He had a strikingly handsome face, almost sharp, with a… “mysterious and cocky” smile on his lips. His steps were steady, oozing a carefully crafted, room-dominating vibe.
The moment An Yi saw him, he shuddered, and a flood of information rushed into his mind!
So he hadn’t just transmigrated—he’d fucking transmigrated into a novel!!
Into a cheesy, illogical, old-school dumb male lead novel packed with engagement breaks, harems, business wars, gangsters, and rich families—a hot mess of clichés!
The title was *The Dragon King Returns: Domination in the Business Underworld*!
In short, the protagonist, Dugu Yuan, was originally a neglected young master of a big family. He had an older brother and a younger brother. Despite being born into wealth, he was oddly unloved—a discarded son of the elite, bullied and humiliated, even publicly shamed by his fiancée when she broke off their engagement!
But no one knew that he was hiding extraordinary talent! Since middle school, he had been secretly building his power, slowly developing his own business empire!
During this time, hot secretaries, sweet newbies, gorgeous female CEOs, and pretty teachers… all fell head over heels for him!
In the end, he returns like a king, crushes everyone who ever messed with him, reaches the pinnacle of the business world, gets endless romantic luck and lives a life of luxury!
And An Yi’s role? He’s the rival CEO who fights him over all those beauties!!
The dumbass second male lead who keeps acting stupid, keeps trying to outdo him, and keeps getting humiliated by the MC!
Through a series of stupid moves and back-and-forth schemes, not only does An Yi end up in a psych ward, but his parents and relatives fall one after another like lemmings under Dugu Yuan’s hands, until the An family is ruined, with some dead and some insane!!!
And now…
An Yi’s eyes locked onto the “charismatic” figure slowly walking to the center of the banquet.
Right now!
The engagement-breaking moment!
At this, a twisted, choked curse exploded from An Yi’s throat: “Fuck!!”
Huang Chan stumbled back, startled, his blond head nearly crashing into the champagne tower.
“Holy shit! B-bro?” Huang Chan, still shaken, stared at An Yi’s almost twisted face. “Are you possessed or something?!”
An Yi abruptly turned his head to look at him, making Huang Chan instinctively step back: “Bro, are you okay??”
An Yi gritted his teeth: “I’m. Fucking. Fine.”
In the plot, Huang Chan ends up just as badly as An Yi, with his entire family suffering the same fate.
But in the story, Huang Chan was literally out of his mind, egging An Yi on to snatch all the protagonist’s beauties.
And honestly, he was a big reason they ended up so badly.
Huang Chan, his spine tingling under An Yi’s stare, tremblingly reached out a finger, cautiously poking An Yi’s arm like he was about to touch a live bomb: “G-good… good that you’re fine! Easy there, boss man…”
At this moment, in the center of the banquet, Dugu Yuan was standing before Dugu Ting.
He looked totally arrogant, oozing badass energy!!
His whole body exuded an aura of “I’m awesome.”
How could anyone think this guy was a poor little thing?!
Is the world’s filter made of frosted glass and cataracts?!
An Yi was confused, utterly baffled!!
Something was seriously wrong with this world.
Seeing An Yi seemed to have “calmed down,” Huang Chan’s nosy heart flared up again. He leaned in with his usual contemptuous tone and sneered: “Tsk, look at that poor lost cause, Dugu Yuan… What a poor little thing!”
An Yi: “…”
His silence spoke volumes about his shock!
He held back, but finally couldn’t help it, staring at Huang Chan as if looking at an idiot: “Did some clam meat glue your eyes shut or what?”
"How is he a poor little thing?"
Huang Chan: "..."
"Are you trying to say 'shit'!"
An Yi: "..."
"?????"
"Is that the damn point?!"
An Yi shuts up, speechless.
Huang Chan, bewildered by his reaction, mutters and re-examines Du Guyuan: "How's he not a poor little thing… Huh?"
As he speaks, Huang Chan's voice falters, a hesitant expression on his face, his eyes showing rare confusion and puzzlement: "Well… he doesn't seem like such a poor little thing. It's strange… the way he looks… kinda creepy?"
"Weird, why did I ever think he was such a poor little thing?"
