Chapter 311: The Nineteenth Day in the ABO World
by 三根木Chapter 311: The Nineteenth Day of Transmigrating into the ABO World
An Yi watched him working so eagerly, the corner of his lips curved almost imperceptibly.
He didn't call out to him, just quietly watching Wei Yang go back and forth a few times, hauling the drinks with his teammates until they were all moved, then standing at the door to chat for a bit before returning to play basketball.
It wasn't until their next break, when training looked like it was wrapping up, that An Yi pulled out his phone and sent a message to that lively profile pic: [Done with training?]
Wei Yang was sitting on a chair in the front row when he felt his phone vibrate. Seeing it was An Yi, he replied almost immediately: [Just finished! How'd you know, bro? (surprised.jpg)]
An Yi: [Nice work out there. (Wei Yang looking down at his phone.jpg)]
Wei Yang: [??! Bro, you came to see me?! (shocked to blur.jpg)]
He shot up and scanned the gym.
An Yi added, smiling: [You played ball really well. Bonus point.]
Wei Yang spotted An Yi sitting in the back row and rushed straight over.
A teammate who'd just walked over to say something called out, "Hey? Wei Yang?"
And then he watched in disbelief as Wei Yang sprinted at an Alpha with a sharp, handsome face and a gentle look, even going for a hug.
But he got pushed off, and he heard the Alpha say, "You're all sweaty!"
Wait... that Alpha... isn't that President An, who came to the school for a talk last time?
He remembered the campus rumors that Wei Yang from their department was chasing after the second young master of the An Group!
So it was real?!
And he actually landed him!
An Yi noticed him staring, turned his head, and smiled at him.
The teammate's face went red instantly.
Wei Yang... your boyfriend's really good-looking.
His pheromones... smell like roses, so good.
After hanging out with Wei Yang and having dinner together, An Yi left with Wei Yang watching him reluctantly, politely turning down his offer to come back with him.
----------
That night, after showering, An Yi was leaning against the headboard reading when his phone screen lit up with a video call from Wei Yang.
Just then, An Yi heard the comments start buzzing:
"Did Xiaoyu get marked today?"
"Holy crap! Their pheromone compatibility is literally 100%!"
"Why're you shocked? Isn't this just standard?"
"Ahhh I'm dead! An Da's pheromones are cold cedar, and Xiaoyu's are sweet candy! Cedar wrapping candy! That combo's perfect!"
"Holy shit! Xiaoyu's in heat!"
"Damn! An Qing's going for it!"
"The way Xiaoyu's whole body goes pink... my nose is getting hot... An Da, you lucky bastard!"
"..."
An Yi recalled the original novel—this was the moment An Qing and Bei Yuke confessed their feelings.
But as long as An Qing didn't pawn his work off on him, An Yi wouldn't care even if he went and got a marriage license tomorrow.
He even thought cheerfully that maybe he could prep a wedding gift in advance?
An Yi snapped out of it and answered Wei Yang's call.
The screen lit up, instantly filled with Wei Yang's face, all up in the camera.
He'd just showered, his hair still wet and dripping, a few stray strands stuck to his forehead. He was wearing a plain white tee, showing off the smooth lines of his neck and solid arms.
The background was his dorm desk, kinda messy.
"Bro!" Wei Yang started to smile when he saw An Yi answer, but then his eyes went wide!
Bro's robe is hanging open!
His collarbone's showing!
On the screen, An Yi was in a dark silk robe, collar slightly loose, showing off delicate collarbones and a sliver of fair skin.
So... so hot.
An Yi hummed in acknowledgment, squinting at Wei Yang. "What're you thinking about, Wei Yang?"
Wei Yang quickly slapped a hand over his nose. "Nothing about wanting to kiss bro's collarbone..."
An Yi: ...
Didn't you just say that out loud yourself?!
He cleared his throat, pulled his robe shut and tied it properly, ignoring Wei Yang's disappointed expression. His gaze swept over Wei Yang's dripping hair. "Not gonna dry it?"
"Huh? Oh!" Wei Yang snapped back to reality, grabbing for the towel beside him and rubbing it messily over his head a few times.
As he dried his hair, he stared at An Yi on the screen, looking dazed. "Bro, did you just shower? You look so good..."
An Yi was half-reclining against the headboard, the warm yellow lamplight casting a soft glow on him.
His soft black hair lay against his forehead, making his skin look even more flawless, and his eyes seemed even deeper in the light.
Wei Yang kept staring, feeling his heart race again, betraying him, his mouth going dry.
An Yi didn't acknowledge the blunt compliment, just smiling as he reminded him, "Dry your hair."
"Oh, okay!" Wei Yang quickly rubbed it a few more times, then tossed the towel aside, his hair a total mess, and looked at An Yi with puppy-dog eyes. "Bro, you free tomorrow? I miss you so much..."
An Yi curled his lips into a smile. "Didn't we just see each other today?"
Wei Yang blinked. "But I miss you anyway."
An Yi smiled, his voice gentle. "I'm free tomorrow."
Wei Yang beamed. "That's great!"
After a few more exchanges, An Yi said, "It's getting late. Time to sleep."
Even though he didn't want to hang up, Wei Yang nodded obediently. "Okay! Goodnight, brother!"
He blew a quick kiss at the screen.
Once the video ended, Wei Yang jumped up—only to find his roommates staring at him with mixed expressions.
Even though they already knew he was dating CEO An, they still couldn't get used to it!
Why were they so clingy in their relationship?
Even CEO An turned out like this?
They had assumed he was a cold, hardcore alpha type!
After all, in An Xuan's words, An Yi was a straight-up cold-blooded monster.
An Xuan: ...
Really? Was his second brother really like that?
----------
The next day was the weekend, and Wei Yang showed up bright and early at An Yi's building.
Sometimes, when he didn't go home, An Yi stayed here.
Wei Yang looked fresh and put-together, his hair perfectly styled, holding a bouquet of flowers.
An Yi buzzed him into the building, and Wei Yang took the elevator straight to the floor, punched in the code An Yi had told him, and pushed the door open with an indescribable thrill and the excitement of finally being in his space.
"Brother!" Wei Yang slipped into the prepared slippers, his eyes sparkling as he looked at An Yi emerging from inside.
An Yi was in comfy loungewear today, the soft fabric clinging to his tall, lean frame. He glanced at what Wei Yang was holding and raised an eyebrow. "This for me?"
"Yes! This is for you, brother!" Wei Yang handed the bouquet to An Yi, then said, sounding a bit disappointed, "I asked An Xuan—your pheromones smell like roses, but I can't smell it, unfortunately."
An Yi nodded and gave his head a gentle pat. "It's okay. We don't need pheromones between us."
