Chapter 302: The Tenth Day in the ABO World
by 三根木Chapter 302: The Tenth Day in the ABO World
Wei Yang's expression turned cold, his brows furrowed tightly, and his fists clenched silently at his sides, the veins on the back of his hands faintly visible.
He scoffed, his voice laced with undisguised anger: "Ha! What I do is none of your business! Who I like, who I pursue—what's it got to do with you? You don't get to stand here and talk smack!"
"Ooh, getting all worked up?" The pudgy guy seemed provoked by Wei Yang's attitude, his voice rising, a mix of embarrassment and irritation: "We're just trying to help you face reality, you know? So you don't keep living in your fantasy and end up embarrassed when it all falls apart, making a fool of yourself..."
Wei Yang gave them a contemptuous look: "What, you two ugly mugs jealous of my good looks?"
The two of them: "Why, you—!"
Just then, footsteps drew near.
An Yi had already gotten out of the car at some point and walked up to them.
He was wearing a casual suit today, no tie, collarbones faintly showing, carrying the calm, commanding air of someone used to being in charge.
So there were people gossiping after all—maybe the original novel just didn't bother to mention it.
The moment he appeared, everyone went silent.
The two pudgy guys clearly recognized An Yi, their angry expressions froze, then shifted to mockery and disdain.
They didn't think Wei Yang could possibly know An Yi, figuring An Yi was just passing by and wouldn't give them the time of day.
Even if he did respond, it'd only be to shut down that delusional idiot Wei Yang!!
Wei Yang was startled too. At the sight of An Yi, the fury in his eyes instantly gave way to surprise and a barely noticeable hint of hurt. He opened his mouth, but before he could make a sound, An Yi's gaze had already swept calmly over the two pudgy guys.
"What are you all talking about?" An Yi spoke, his tone gentle as always, yet carrying a strange pressure that made people's hearts clench: "Sounds like it's about me?"
Cold sweat instantly drenched the backs of the two pudgy guys. Afraid An Yi might think they were talking trash about him behind his back, they stammered, trying to explain: "N-no! Mr. An... we were just, just messing with Wei Yang... yeah, messing around!"
They exchanged a glance, malice flashing in their eyes: "Wei Yang here's been chasing after you, right? He thinks just because he's good-looking, he can definitely win you over..."
"Haha, win you over—we were just telling him not to bother you, and he called us ugly. But we're all classmates, so he probably didn't mean anything by it."
Wei Yang's eyes went wide: "That's bull! I—"
"Oh, really?" An Yi tilted his head slightly, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips as he raised a hand to cut Wei Yang off: "That's right."
He looked the two pudgy guys up and down, nodded, and repeated: "Yeah, you two really are ugly. Wei Yang's right."
The two pudgy guys' faces turned bright red, but they didn't dare say a word.
Wei Yang's eyes went wide, sparkling as he looked at An Yi, and he couldn't help but laugh.
An Yi turned to look at him and gestured: "Come here."
Wei Yang immediately hurried over to his side: "Mr. An."
An Yi's gaze lingered on his sparkling eyes and barely contained excitement for a moment, then his eyes curved, and he smoothly changed the subject as if something had just occurred to him: "It's about this time—have you eaten dinner yet?"
Wei Yang shook his head on instinct: "Not yet..."
"Perfect, me neither." An Yi said casually: "There's a decent place nearby. Let's go grab a bite."
Wei Yang's head snapped up, eyes wide as saucers, hardly able to believe his ears.
Mr. An... was asking him to dinner?
He'd just gotten him out of a jam, and now he was offering to buy him dinner?
"Really?" His cheeks turned red.
An Yi had already turned and was heading to the driver's seat. At the question, he glanced back: "Get in."
"Yes!" Wei Yang immediately scurried after him.
The two pudgy guys left behind exchanged a look, their faces sour. Damn, could Wei Yang actually pull this off...
If he did, would he come back to get them?
A few minutes later, An Xuan hurried down from the dorm building. But when he got to where An Yi had parked earlier, all he found was an empty spot.
"Huh? Where is he?" An Xuan looked around, pulled out his phone, and sure enough, saw a message An Yi had sent a few minutes ago, short and sweet: [Left.]
Left?! He hadn't even gotten in the car!
An Xuan froze, then a wave of being left out and wronged surged up. He threw a mini tantrum and typed furiously:
[Second Brother!!! Why'd you leave?! Didn't we agree to eat together?! You stood me up! (Furious.jpg)]
Not long after the message was sent, An Yi's reply came, just as brief: [Mm.]
Then, right after, a screenshot followed—a restaurant reservation confirmation, table for two.
An Xuan stared at the screenshot, blinking. What did this mean?
Booked a restaurant but not taking him, eating alone?
His phone buzzed again—another screenshot.
(*Yi*Xuan transfer: ¥×××××.)
An Xuan: "!!!"
He stared in shock at the long string of zeros, his mind going blank.
Then, another message from An Yi arrived:
[Taking a fresh-faced college kid out to dinner.]
[Taking the special route—the money's on its way. Go buy that car you were looking at.]
All the hurt and anger vanished in an instant, replaced by the dizzying, ecstatic rush of being hit by a massive sugar bomb.
An Xuan's expression flipped from gloomy to radiant in a split second, his grin nearly splitting his face in two. His fingers flew across the screen, his tone doing a complete 180:
[Thanks, Second Brother!!!]
[Thanks, dear brother~~~ (Heart launch.jpg)]
[You're the best! Enjoy your meal with the fresh-faced kid! Take your time! (Obedient.jpg)]
He even sent a gushing voice message: "Bro! Bro! Thanks, dear bro!"
An Xuan's laughter trailed off, and his smile slowly faded—wait a minute!
Could that little water sprite really be about to become his sister-in-law?!

At the restaurant.
Wei Yang sat across from An Yi, his heart thumping like a caged rabbit. He straightened his back, his eyes shining as he fixed them on An Yi, making no effort to hide his joy.
"Mr. An, this place has such a great vibe!" His voice was clear and energetic, his smile radiant, as if it could brighten the somewhat cool surroundings.
An Yi nodded slightly, also smiling, and handed him the menu: "Take a look at what you'd like to eat."
Wei Yang took the menu and flipped it open, finding mostly foreign dish names with small Chinese annotations beneath them.
The menu made his eyes glaze over, but he didn't let it faze him. Instead, he looked up, gazing at An Yi with complete frankness, his eyes full of trust: "Mr. An, I can't read this. You must know what's good! Could you order for me? I'm not picky—I'll eat anything!"
