Chapter 78: The Quarrel

Lu Yun and Zhou Yanze got into a fight. The fight started because Lu Yun was mad. After it rained, Zhou Yanze came home without an umbrella and got soaked. Instead of showering or drinking ginger soup right away, he went straight to show Lu Yun what he'd bought her.

Lu Yun's face was set in a frown, and Zhou Yanze didn't know what he'd done wrong. His cluelessness only made her angrier!

Lu Yun: "It was raining—why didn't you take shelter? You could've called me and I'd have come to get you!"

Zhou Yanze smiled. "Sorry!"

Lu Yun: "What are you apologizing for? Go shower!"

While he showered, Lu Yun made him ginger soup. Zhou Yanze downed it without batting an eye. Seeing she was still mad, he helped himself to another bowl. Lu Yun got even angrier, especially watching that sweet look on his face. She was tempted to joke about divorce, but she'd promised him she'd never say that word, even in a fight, so she held back. But she stopped talking to him altogether.

Zhou Yanze was easy to win over, but Lu Yun wasn't. The next day, she ignored him and refused to let him drive her to work.

When Chen Qiao saw Lu Yun show up alone, she asked if Zhou Yanze was away on a business trip. When she found out he wasn't, she asked in disbelief, "You two didn't fight, did you?"

Lu Yun: "We did."

Chen Qiao was even more shocked. "You two fought?"

Lu Yun and Zhou Yanze didn't even know what they'd fight about, so Chen Qiao sure didn't. Chen Qiao asked, and Lu Yun told her about Zhou Yanze not taking shelter from the rain.

Chen Qiao: "Next time, don't call it a fight. Just say you were showing off your love!"

That wasn't a fight—even their fights were this sweet!

When Lu Yun got off work, Zhou Yanze was waiting outside. Without a word, she got into the passenger seat. Zhou Yanze handed her a written promise. Lu Yun couldn't keep up the act after reading it.

Zhou Yanze: "I promise it won't happen again. Honey, please don't be mad anymore, okay?"

Lu Yun: "I'm mad, and you're still doing this?"

Zhou Yanze wasn't really trying to make up—he was just enjoying himself!

Zhou Yanze: "I was wrong, honey, I was really wrong!"

His act wasn't convincing at all!

Lu Yun snorted. She wasn't that easy to win over!

Lu Yun finally gave in on the fourth day when it rained again. This time, Zhou Yanze deliberately went out and came back with an umbrella. He even made ginger soup and invited Lu Yun to have some with him. Lu Yun refused—she hadn't gone out, and she didn't like ginger soup anyway.

Lu Yun: "You drink all of it."

Zhou Yanze drank three bowls. Following her orders, he finished every drop and even ate the ginger. Then he came to Lu Yun to show off. Lu Yun just couldn't stay mad, and just like that, they made up!

Han Gang's wife still wanted to ask Lu Yun for a favor. When she ran into Lu Yun, she greeted her with a big smile. Even when Lu Yun turned her down, Han Gang's wife didn't get upset.

Han Gang said, "They can't help you anyway, so why be so polite to them?"

Han Gang's wife: "The Han family doesn't want to pick a fight with them, does it? Who is Zhou Yanze? If you dare to mess with the Lu family, he'll definitely come after me! You'd better make that clear to your family!"

Han Gang: "How could that happen!"

Lu Yun was too lazy to move and simply stayed at the Lu family home with Zhou Yanze. In the evening, just as Lu Yun was about to fall asleep, she was disturbed by noise outside. Zhou Yanze was woken up too.

Lu Yun: "It must be some family causing a scene again."

Lu Yun really wanted to go out and watch the drama, but she needed to rest, and so did Zhou Yanze. Lu Yun simply lay back down on Zhou Yanze's shoulder. "Let's keep sleeping."

The next day, Lu Yun found out which family had been causing the scene—it was Aunt Jiang's family. Aunt Jiang had bought a siheyuan, and the house in the compound was now vacant. Aunt Jiang's children had started scheming over it. Seeing them fighting over the house in the compound, Aunt Jiang was furious and told them the house belonged to no one but herself.

Aunt Jiang's husband truly loved her and listened to her completely. He even scolded the children along with her, and they immediately settled down.

Apart from not marrying Father Sun and having some conflicts among her children, Aunt Jiang could be considered a winner in life! Her husband now worked in transportation with others, and Aunt Jiang's life was getting better and better. Lu Yun: "How did the commotion start yesterday?"

Lu's father: "Aunt Jiang's son came to ask her for the house. Her two daughters overheard. Aunt Jiang was so angry she scolded them, and Uncle Li directly kicked them all out! His two daughters are still acceptable."

Lu Yun only wanted one child in the future—not because of Aunt Jiang's situation, but because Lu Yun was also a bit afraid of having children. Being willing to have one child was already her summoning up courage. After returning home, Lu Yun asked Zhou Yanze about children. If he wanted two, she definitely wouldn't agree.

Lu Yun: "I only want one child!"

Zhou Yanze: "Alright, we'll only have one child."

Lu Yun was curious. "Did you originally only want one child, or are you saying that because I said I only want one?"

Zhou Yanze said: "You're already willing to have a child for me—how could I dare to want two? Even if you didn't want children at all, I wouldn't have the right to any opinion. You're the one having the child for me!"

Speaking of this, Zhou Yanze persuaded again: "We could also not have children. Think about it—if we don't have children, you won't have to go through childbirth. Childbirth is painful, and you'd have to take care of the child. The child might not even be obedient in the future."

At this point, Zhou Yanze even started having opinions about their unborn child. If their child dared to act like the children of Aunt Jiang's family in the compound, Zhou Yanze would definitely give them a beating and refuse to acknowledge them as his child! The child was important, but Lu Yun was more important.

Zhou Yanze didn't want Lu Yun to suffer. He thought maybe they should just not have children. He tried to persuade Lu Yun for several days, and Lu Yun was speechless—she did want a child!

Lu Yun complained to Chen Qiao, and Chen Qiao was even more envious. This wasn't a complaint—this was showing off their love!

Chen Qiao: "He can consider things for your sake. What a great man!"

Lu Yun: "We definitely have to have one child. A child of his and mine—just thinking about it, I'm really looking forward to it! If my marriage partner weren't Zhou Yanze, maybe I'd still be hesitating about having children. Or rather, if it weren't Zhou Yanze, I wouldn't have gotten married at all."

The two treated each other with sincerity—a relationship like that really made Chen Qiao yearn for it!

After returning home, Lu Yun proactively talked with Zhou Yanze about children—a child of theirs, perhaps resembling Lu Yun, perhaps resembling Zhou Yanze. She said firmly: "It's not that I like children. It's that I want our child."

Zhou Yanze was so moved he almost cried. He held Lu Yun and said: "To be able to marry you—what great fortune!"

They reached an agreement on the matter of children, though Zhou Yanze hoped for a child who looked like Lu Yun, while Lu Yun hoped for a child who looked like Zhou Yanze.

Lu Yun's new store opened with great business. The first store was very meaningful to Lu Yun, and the second store's property was owned by Lu Yun herself, which was also very meaningful. On opening day, Zhou Yanze could finally come openly. Last time at the first store's opening, Zhou Yanze didn't dare to face Lu's father and mother, worried about causing trouble for Lu Yun. Lu Yun: "Pregnant?"

Lu Yun was pregnant, over two months along. Counting back, she must have conceived on their wedding day—their child, his and hers!
