    Chapter 70 - An Accident!

The chandelier hanging from the ceiling swayed slightly, as if moved by the wind from the opened door.

Inside the door, warm yellow light illuminated the room, while outside, the blue was blinding. The guests turned in unison. In the passage leading to the entrance, Guan Yin's leather shoes stepped on the red carpet, his tall figure advancing towards them, becoming clearer with each step.

A reporter from the Sun Daily squinted. He noticed two burly security guards following behind Guan Yin.

"Mr. Guan, of course your words count as evidence."

"I'd like to clarify to everyone that Miss Tang did not seduce me; we were mere strangers who happened to cross paths." Guan Yin approached slowly, his towering presence adding to the journalist's unease.

"You've disrupted the hotel's event and spread false rumors about my personal life. As the venue provider, I ask you to leave, both professionally and personally," Guan Yin said, reaching the journalist, with the guards watching closely behind him.

"I'm not spreading rumors. This photo is real, I'm just seeking the truth," the reporter looked anxiously at Shen Fan.

Shen Fan turned away, pretending not to notice.

"A photo? Did the photographer not tell you that Miss Tang and I ended up in that position due to a fall, captured unintentionally?" Guan Yin looked at Tang Fei.

Tang Fei maintained a composed, aloof expression, though her heart pounded wildly. Why are you looking at me? What secret signal are you trying to send?

    We're not that close.

There's no rapport between us; I don't understand.

"No one mentioned it," the reporter's gaze pierced through Shen Fan. "It was clearly stated as true... How could it be, it's impossible."

"Didn't you see the photo online? Who provided you with the photo?" Guan Yin coaxed gently, like a patient father guiding his son through homework.

"No, I saw it online. I have no idea," the journalist realized they had let something slip. Shen Fan's temples throbbed, and her secretary promptly approached with medication. "CEO Shen, please take your medicine."

"I'm not sick," Shen Fan's face twisted. "Don't bring medicine again in the future."

The people around exchanged glances, while Yao Hui still harbored ambitions to suppress Tang Fei.

It was probably them causing trouble, they reckoned. Nine times out of ten.

"Oh, you're unsure? So what you just said was based on your interpretation of the photo then."

    "I..."

"Are you aware now? Know how to make amends? Apologize to Miss Tang."

"You... You might be hiding something too! I'm not in the wrong." The journalist's mind was like a meteorite collision, jumbled and chaotic, with no coherent train of thought remaining.

His every move was laid bare before the live-streaming audience. By choosing to broadcast, he had intended to put pressure on Tang Fei, but it was a double-edged sword that could wound himself if it didn't succeed in harming her.

Now, he had to regain control!

Absolutely not admitting fault was his only option.

"Chairman Guan, I protest. Your words hold no evidence!"

"The photograph was taken in Yao Hui's parking lot. The security footage is stored monthly. You can verify this with President Shen, Mr. Shen Fan." Guan Yin looked at Shen Fan, whose stiff face barely twitched, only quivering slightly. He managed to force a crooked smile, "Ah, yes, there was indeed something going on. There's footage of it."

The secretary discreetly dialed the company line, arranging for an ambulance to stand by at the hospital, as Shen Fan's condition seemed to be deteriorating; he might pass out again.

Anger had left him short of breath, exacerbating his hypertension. If this happened a few more times, a stroke could become a serious concern.

The children in the live stream channel shifted their gazes from puzzled dots to wide-eyed zeros.

"I'm no longer sleepy after watching this!"

"Our Prince Charming has arrived to save the day! This clarification is both masculine and impactful; I'm totally shipping them."

"Their relationship began with a misunderstanding and is now clarified – my imagination is overflowing with excitement!"

"The journalist's ill-intended live stream backfired; I'm laughing so hard, it's like a piglet's oinking."

"It's prime time live! The screen is flooded with pink hues, and hearts abound."

"Scatter petals for Fei Yun, farewell and all the best. Invest heavily in Sugar Print, it's a sure bet!"

    "Sugar Print sounds delightfully sweet."

"Lying down and winning already! A worthy purchase."

"Previous statements aside, I firmly believe that Fei Yun's Love is genuine, it was Little Yun who sought help from her big brother. Their love is true!"

Guan Yin glanced at the journalist. "Are you convinced now? Apologize and leave, so we can all save face."

The security guard stepped forward in synchronization.

The journalist looked up at the slightly swaying chandelier, lowered his head as if contemplating whether he should apologize or not.

Having dealt with the journalist, Guan Yin walked over to Tang Fei and whispered, "Do you remember now?"

Tang Fei felt that Guan Yin had completely blocked her view.

    Was Guan Yin this tall?

    Almost two meters?

Half a head taller than her, Tang Fei sensed a threat – she couldn't be outdone in a frame together!

Tang Fei straightened her back, radiating confidence. A gentle breeze seemed to stir around her, creating an aura that pushed Guan Yin away, making him feel that their distance was growing beyond his control. But when he focused, he realized the distance hadn't changed; instead, his head had lifted unconsciously, turning his downward gaze into a level one.

The wind around them seemed to materialize out of nowhere, its breeze evoking a sense of oppression upon him.

Such sensations were rare for him.

"Tang Fei took a step forward. Guan Yin actually subconsciously stepped back," Tang Fei asked.

Screams erupted in the live stream.

"Woof! Chairman Guan is indeed the one being dominated!"

"Fei has got the vibe completely under control."

"Hmm, those weighing less than two hundred pounds just can't cut it."

"Go all in on Sugar Print! Sugar Sugar leads the way!"

"Will this give me cavities? I need a blood glucose meter, I'm afraid the sugar level might be too high."

The crowd on-site was in disarray. It was only a three-hour contract signing, yet they had already staged several dramatic acts.

They must have mistaken the invitation? Weren't they supposed to attend the signing ceremony? Could it be an invitation for a cutting-edge experimental play?

4D mode, performing right next to you on stage.

Upon seeing Guan Yin approach, and Tang Fei taking that step forward, Zhou Weichuan felt as if a chunk had been carved out of his heart, leaving him empty inside. His body reacted before his mind, rushing over to pull Tang Fei behind him, creating a barrier between her and Guan Yin.

The awkwardness in the venue surpassed all boundaries.

Ah, there's still more to this scene.

Zhou Weichuan quickly composed himself, wearing a smile as he extended his hand to Guan Yin. "Thank you, Director Guan, for standing up for my artist with your clarification."

Guan Yin took his hand firmly. "My pleasure."

Their hands gripped tightly, pressing until their skin turned white at the point of contact and red where they were not. Neither seemed willing to let go, their hands shaking persistently.

Their eyes met, sparks flying like lightning.

Tang Fei's eyes widened slightly. With her knowledge of auras, she could barely sense the intensifying energy between Zhou Weichuan and Guan Yin. Zhou Weichuan, who had always appeared weaker, was now matching Guan Yin's aura in this moment.

"It seems like Boss Zhou has a strong side that's not usually visible. He seems quite gentle normally."

The romantic atmosphere in the live stream vanished.

But the scent of vinegar began to linger.

The audience understood and smiled wryly.

    "Aheh heh, (??_??)"

"Rubbing hands together, both these sons-in-law are acceptable."

"The stubborn Feiyun girl won't give up! It's all just an illusion, we can't take what happens on live stream too seriously!"

He Zhou bared his teeth. Both these cunning foxes were eyeing his cousin, and they were even doing it on a live stream! They weren't being mindful at all; how was his sister supposed to find a boyfriend in the future?

They clearly had ulterior motives. He quickly stepped in to separate Tang Fei and Zhou Weichuan.

    The live stream viewers: "..."

"What about Tang Fei? Why is she pushed out of the frame?"

"Who's this person in the back?"

"Well, who should we buy? Can we get an economic expert to analyze it?"

"Expert: The stock chart is as chaotic as an ECG. The expert has given up; you're on your own with the buying decision."

The journalist, who had been hesitating about apologizing, perked up his ears at the sound of clicking. He looked up and saw the chandelier swaying dangerously. Without hesitation, he rushed towards Tang Fei. "Teacher Tang, I apologize to you!"

He intended to push Tang Fei under the chandelier. In a blink of an eye, the enormous lamp towered over them, and the room plunged into darkness!

A blinding flash of lightning illuminated the window, followed by a thunderous roar. The fine rain transformed abruptly into heavy drops, pounding against the windows with a clatter.

Amidst the chaotic screams, Zhou Weichuan, Guan Yin, and He Zhou all dove for Tang Fei in the flickering light of the thunderstorm. Behind the journalist, a slightly plump woman appeared - it was Mother Zhong. With a powerful elbow, she shoved the journalist towards the dangling chandelier.

    Bang!

A loud crash echoed, accompanied by the flickering of backup lights. In an instant, the room was illuminated once more.
