    Chapter 63

Shang Xianwang drove Shang Xueyan to the set. The Rolls-Royce pulled into the familiar parking lot. Shang Xueyan picked up his canvas bag, turned, and asked, "I'm heading to set?"

Having said that, he turned again to open the car door.

    His movements abruptly paused.

Shang Xueyan twisted around, leaning quickly over the center console, his cheeks flushed warmly as he pressed a kiss onto Shang Xianwang's dry lips.

With a soft smack, the moist kiss landed.

Shang Xueyan pulled back, his face red, his eyelashes fluttering slightly. "I need to get to set."

"A Yan," Shang Xianwang said, grabbing his fingers, interlacing them tightly, their hands clasped together.

"Can I have you in the car from now on?" Shang Xianwang asked.

His mind went completely blank again.

He stared, stunned and disbelieving, at Shang Xianwang.

A gulp echoed—the sound of his Adam’s apple moving.

It wasn’t an illusion. Da-ge had really just asked another crude question.

"Is it okay? Can I take you in the car?" Shang Xianwang asked patiently.

"Brother, you..." His neck and collarbone flushed deeply, as if painted with rouge. His eyelids burned as Shang Xueyan stammered, "You... you’re not quite yourself today."

Taking a deep breath, his head clearing a little, Shang Xueyan asked, his face flushed, "Are you really that happy?"

So happy that he’s become downright dirty!

And not just a little—completely and utterly so.

Shang Xianwang smiled. He admitted that his nerve cells were unusually keyed up.

But in truth, this was also the most genuine part of him—an intense, powerful desire for the person he loved.

It was just that, since childhood, he had been taught lessons about propriety and restraint, to be upright and modest, to restrain his desires and curb his impulses.

"I need to get to set. If I don’t go, I’ll be late." Shang Xueyan’s Adam’s apple bobbed twice. He turned, quickly opened the car door, and bolted out.

He hurried off from the parking lot. The early summer morning breeze brushed against his hair and the corners of his eyes, but his slightly elevated body temperature didn't cool down.

Shang Xueyan gradually slowed his pace.

He coughed, turned the corner, and looked back. The Rolls-Royce had already vanished from sight.

His spirits didn't fall. Instead, a slight smile touched his lips.

Hey, starting today, things with his brother had entered a new phase.

    An unprecedented new phase.

His good mood lasted for about four hours. Shang Xueyan had an action scene today.

    An actual action scene.

Fu Jingning, who played Hu Jiaojiao, lay unconscious by the door. Shang Xueyan had to carry her inside to her room.

As he bent down to pick her up, the movement pulled at his rear. Although he had ointment applied carefully the night before and that morning, and it didn’t hurt without vigorous movement, there was a strong foreign sensation.

Last night had really been too much.

But with the sudden movement, not only did it hurt a little, but the foreign feeling became overwhelming.

Images from the previous night flashed through his mind. Shang Xueyan’s limbs went weak, and he almost dropped Fu Jingning to the ground.

They wobbled but caught their balance. Fu Jingning said, amazed, "Shang Xueyan, I don't weigh more than Song Zikang, do I?" Song Zikang was another male lead in the series. A few days earlier, Shang Xueyan had filmed a scene where he carried Song Zikang to the hospital.

He'd done it easily, without any problem.

Shang Xueyan coughed, embarrassed. "I’m not quite myself. Let's take it again."

He focused during filming, but since running required using his backside for thrust, after the scene, the part that hadn't been noticeable before now made itself keenly felt.

After the scene wrapped up, it was lunchtime, and the crew began handing out box lunches.

The crew’s meals were quite good for carnivores—rich and oily, with heavy sauces.

Shang Xueyan remembered Shang Xianwang’s instructions from the morning and planned to order a light delivery.

Fei Yu walked over carrying a large plastic bag, smiling. "Bro Yan, lunch is here."

"When did you order this?" Shang Xueyan asked, surprised.

There was no fixed dining area for lunch on set, so the two found a secluded corner and pulled over a small table.

Fei Yu placed a container of soup and congee in front of Shang Xueyan and handed him chopsticks. "President Shang ordered it."

After a pause, he added, "President Shang also told me to make sure you eat light these next couple of days and to keep an eye on you."

Shang Xueyan’s hand trembled as he took the chopsticks.

Fei Yu teased in a playful tone, "Bro Yan, is that chair a bit too hard for you? Should I get you one with a cushion?"

Shang Xueyan glared sharply. "Fei Yu, your bonus for this month is gone."

Fei Yu let out a cry, pretending to sob. "Bro Yan, I was wrong, okay? I admit it!"

Shang Xueyan raised an eyebrow. He had long known that Fei Yu was aware of his relationship with his brother. After all, once those hand-holding photos surfaced, those close to him could easily guess the nature of their relationship.

Besides, Fei Yu followed him around every day and was quite sharp.

Shang Xueyan said fiercely, "Too late."

Fei Yu dropped his pleading act. "It’s fine. I’m sure President Shang will make it up to me."

"He wouldn’t dare," Shang Xueyan sneered.

President Shang, loving the house and its crow, treated those around Shang Xueyan kindly. Although the meal was mainly for Shang Xueyan, he had ordered a portion for Fei Yu as well.

Today’s delivery was a gourmet meal from a five-star hotel. Though it was light congee, Fei Yu skipped the crew’s box lunch.

He opened another container of rich chicken congee, held the bowl, and asked seriously, "Bro Yan, allow me to ask—are you scolding your brother, or are you scolding your husband?"

    Husband?

Hearing this, Shang Xueyan's brain short-circuited.

This was the first time someone had used such a term to describe his relationship with Shang Xianwang.

Shang Xueyan's ears burned, and he turned his face away, snorting dismissively, "She's my wife to manage."

Fei Yu sighed and said, "Alright, you're my boss. If you say it's your wife, then it's your wife."

    Shang Xueyan: "..."

Could you be any more perfunctory for me?

After finishing lunch, Shang Xueyan opened his phone and indeed saw a message from Shang Xianwang asking if he had eaten lunch.

    Shang Xueyan: "Yes."

    Shang Xianwang: "Miss you."

Shang Xueyan glanced around and, seeing no one looking his way, coughed softly and deliberately typed, "Don't miss you."

    Shang Xianwang: "Still miss you."

    Shang Xueyan: "[kiss emoji]"

Shang Xianwang: "You want me to come now?"

Shang Xueyan: "No, don't come. I still have four scenes to shoot this afternoon."

    Shang Xianwang: "I'm coming."

Shang Xueyan: "No. If you come, it'll throw off my performance."

    Shang Xianwang: "Don't understand."

Shang Xueyan rubbed at his cheeks and typed, "If you come and stand nearby, all I'll be able to think about is you. How can I focus on acting?"

Shang Xianwang: "Baby, you miss me that much?"

Shang Xianwang: "Baby, I miss you too."

Ugh, the topic circled back again.

Shang Xueyan's cheeks felt hot and flushed, and he rubbed them vigorously.

At six in the evening, Shang Xueyan had just finished shooting one scene for the day when he turned around and saw Fei Yu making faces at him from not far away.

His heart leapt, and when he looked in the direction Fei Yu hinted, Shang Xueyan indeed saw Shang Xianwang standing nearby.

Their eyes met, and Shang Xueyan's ears warmed slightly as he turned his head away.

For the next scene, he kept losing focus, and it wasn't until the director criticized him a couple of times that Shang Xueyan gradually calmed down.

After finishing that scene, Shang Xueyan finished work for the day.

He went to the dressing room to change clothes and followed Shang Xianwang to the parking lot.

Sitting in the passenger seat of the Rolls-Royce, with no one else around, Shang Xueyan shot him a look and said, "I told you not to come while I was filming."

"But I couldn't help it," Shang Xianwang said calmly.

    Shang Xueyan: "..."

Well, if you put it that way, he'd generously forgive him.

The engine roared to life as Shang Xianwang started the car. After driving along a familiar street, instead of heading in the direction Shang Xueyan knew, he turned into another place.

"Big brother, this isn't the way home, is it?" Shang Xueyan instinctively reminded him.

Shang Xianwang turned his face, and his gaze met Shang Xueyan's perfectly.

As the last bit of distance between them vanished, Shang Xueyan seemed to read Shang Xianwang's eyes more clearly. In an instant, he understood the overwhelming desire in Shang Xianwang's gaze.

His eyelashes trembled slightly, and his heartbeat grew pounding, almost drowning out the engine's roar.

But at the same time, an inexpressible excitement rose, spreading from his tailbone to his nerve endings.

The Rolls-Royce stopped in an abandoned parking lot. The surroundings were dimly lit, and in the dim interior, Shang Xueyan tilted his head up to share a long-awaited kiss with Shang Xianwang. The sound of their sloppy, wet kisses echoed in the quiet night.

Even though they had left work just after six and there was no traffic on the road, it was already past nine by the time they got home.

Aunt Wang, following Shang Xianwang's instructions, had prepared a light millet porridge. After the two finished dinner, Shang Xueyan went upstairs to shower.

After his shower, Shang Xianwang checked him over and applied some ointment. Then they kissed again, unwilling to be apart, like they were joined at the hip.

Forehead, eyes, nose, lips—every part of him was being kissed, and his skin grew damp and hot.

Shang Xueyan knelt on the bed, his arms wrapped around Shang Xianwang's shoulders.

Their faces nuzzled and their tongues intertwined. Shang Xueyan opened his damp, reddened eyelids slightly, and Shang Xianwang's gaze was tender and affectionate. Under that gaze, Shang Xueyan felt as if he were walking on air.

He even felt a pang of regret—it was too late. Perhaps if he had known his big brother's feelings earlier, he could have enjoyed this happiness sooner.

Perhaps it was the wonderful feelings before falling asleep, but that night, Shang Xueyan had a beautiful dream.

He dreamed that he and his big brother were wearing bright red wedding robes, exchanging vows. Their father and mother sat at the head, watching them with kind and gentle expressions.

"A Yan?" Shang Xianwang propped his head up and called Shang Xueyan's name softly.

Shang Xueyan chuckled twice before slowly waking up. He opened his eyes, in good spirits, and said, "Big brother?"

"What did you dream about? You were smiling in your sleep."

Shang Xueyan was always willing to share anything and everything with Shang Xianwang. At these words, he immediately brightened and said excitedly, "I dreamed we got married. Father and Mother were sitting at the head, watching us with kind expressions."

Reliving that dream, Shang Xueyan wished it hadn't ended and even wanted to fall back asleep to continue it. So he missed the briefly complicated expression on Shang Xianwang's face.
