Chapter 68
byChapter 68
“What time did you get up?” Su Qingrong yawned, her mind still hazy from sleep.
“Just seven,” Shang Xueyan replied. “Mom, I’m going back to get ready. I still have to be on set later.”
Su Qingrong and Shang Mingde had spent four days at Fengyun Bay. Shang Xueyan and Shang Xianwang were both very busy during that time. As parents who didn't constantly need their children's company, they planned to start a small business after returning to China. But first, they intended to do some traveling.
A millennium ago, Su Qingrong and Shang Mingde loved to travel. When Shang Xueyan was very young, they had already explored all the scenic spots within three hundred *li* of Shangjing.
However, due to the transportation and their status at the time, they didn't have the means to visit many places.
Often, Father and Mother Shang would go out without Shang Xueyan or Shang Xianwang, just the two of them.
“Mom, Dad, this time when you two go traveling, wait a couple of months. Once I finish filming this drama, I’ll have time to go with you,” Shang Xueyan enthusiastically planned.
Shang Mingde scoffed, “Who needs you to accompany your mother and me? Go find yourself a partner and travel with her instead.”
Shang Xueyan’s conscience pricked him, and he shot a glance at his elder brother. He snorted and told his father, “If you don’t want me to go with you, then Big Brother and I will go. Don’t come asking us to take you along later.”
Shang Mingde chuckled, “Once your brother finds a wife, who do you think you’ll cling to then?”
*I am my brother’s wife,* Shang Xueyan thought to himself. *Sooner or later, I’ll say it out loud and really surprise you all.*
It was early June, and the early summer weather wasn't too hot. After Shang Mingde and Su Qingrong finalized their travel plans, they flew out the next day. Once again, only Shang Xueyan and Shang Xianwang were left at home.
However, both Shang Xueyan and Shang Xianwang had been extremely busy lately. Shang Xianwang was occupied with company matters, while Shang Xueyan was the lead in the recent episodes, filming from dawn till dusk without breaks.
After a week of intense work, Shang Xueyan finally finished at 1 p.m. one afternoon. Instead of going home, he drove to Shang Xianwang’s company.
Shang Xianwang was working in his office, while Shang Xueyan took a two-hour nap in the lounge. When he woke up, he felt refreshed. Creeping to the lounge door, he peered out to confirm that only Shang Xianwang was in the office before confidently striding out.
The dark office chair swiveled slightly as Shang Xianwang turned from his desk. “Awake, A Yan?” he asked.
“How much longer until you finish work, Big Brother?”
Shang Xianwang didn’t reply, just gazed at Shang Xueyan. After his nap, Shang Xueyan’s hair was tousled, his cheeks rosy, and his lips a vibrant red.
Shang Xianwang said, “A Yan, come here.”
Still not fully awake, Shang Xueyan instinctively walked over. As soon as he reached the large desk, his hips were firmly grasped, and the next moment, his feet left the ground. He found himself sitting on the heavy desk, facing Shang Xianwang.
His still-groggy mind instantly reeled with dizziness. Shang Xianwang’s gaze was dark and intense. Shang Xueyan’s throat felt dry, and he gulped, the distinct sound echoing between them.
Shang Xianwang leaned down.
Shang Xueyan quickly covered his mouth with his hand.
“This isn’t proper,” he said, though his tone wasn't exactly one of refusal. His eyelids were flushed red, his eyelashes trembling slightly, and his voice held a hint of amusement.
Shang Xianwang gently removed the hand covering his mouth, thought for a moment, then smiled and nodded. “You’re right, it’s not appropriate.”
Shang Xueyan’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Shang Xianwang.
Seeing Shang Xueyan’s stunned expression, Shang Xianwang couldn’t help but smile. His tailored black suit accentuated his tall, slender frame. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling glass wall, casting bright spots of light.
In the early evening, as dusk began to fall, he leaned down without restraint and kissed the young man in the T-shirt and shorts.
Shang Xueyan tilted his head back, obediently returning the kiss. He thought it would just be a simple kiss, until...
He panicked, “Big Brother, th-this is your office...”
“I’m more aware of that than you are, baby.”
“There’s no condom, right... ah...”
“Who said there isn’t?”
Shang Xianwang finished work at four, but by the time he and Shang Xueyan left the company, it was almost seven.
It was rare for both of them to be free that evening. They went to a restaurant for dinner, then spent two hours at a nearby arcade before driving home.
On the way home, Shang Xueyan received a message from his parents with photos from their trip to Yunnan that day.
Shang Xueyan enthusiastically replied in the family group chat, praising the beautiful scenery, his father’s handsomeness, and his mother’s beauty.
He was full of emotional support.
Dad: “A Yan, are you and your brother home yet?”
Shang Xueyan: “On the way home. Big Brother and I ate out today and then went to the arcade.”
After a brief exchange, his parents stopped messaging. Shang Xueyan opened the cake they had bought that evening, took a bite with a spoon, and his eyes lit up. “Big Brother, this is delicious. Beg me, and I’ll let you try some.”
“Please, baby,” Shang Xianwang chuckled, playing along.
The security gate in front of the villa automatically opened as it recognized the authorized vehicle. The Maybach drove into the familiar garden. Shang Xueyan scooped a full spoonful of cake and fed it to Shang Xianwang.
“Is it good, Big Brother?” Shang Xueyan asked.
Shang Xianwang glanced at him, and somehow, Shang Xueyan seemed to understand the unspoken meaning.
*Not as good as you.*
Damn!
Shang Xueyan blushed from his neck to his ears. Shang Xianwang stepped on the brake, and they shared a kiss tasting of mango pomelo sago. The center console prevented them from getting any closer.
Shang Xianwang’s hand rested on Shang Xueyan’s neck. “A Yan, let’s go home.”
His voice was hoarse, and his gaze held a familiar, burning desire.
*Was two hours in the office not enough?* The thought flashed through Shang Xueyan’s mind, but after locking eyes with Shang Xianwang for a moment longer, his body began to heat up, and a strong sense of emptiness surged from deep within.
He licked his dry lips. With a click, both of them simultaneously opened the car doors and walked into the dark villa, one after the other.
Aunt Wang was off duty, and their parents were traveling, so once again, only the two of them were left in the villa.
The main door of the villa slowly swung open, and the sensor light in the entryway lit up. Shang Xueyan pushed Shang Xianwang forcefully, tilting his head up to kiss him roughly.
Shang Xianwang’s hand pressed against the back of Shang Xueyan’s neck as he lowered his head to return the kiss.
A cup fell to the floor with a sharp clatter.
The motion sensor light in the living room instantly turned on.
Shang Xueyan and Shang Xianwang both turned to look toward the center of the living room. Under the bright white light, Su Qingrong and Shang Mingde stood frozen, staring at them in shock.
Eight eyes met, and a deathly silence fell. Even the usually lively Dajin was quietly curled up in a corner, not making a sound.
After a deafening moment of shock, Shang Mingde turned to his wife and forced an awkward smile. “Qingrong, I think I just saw Dabao and Xiaobao kissing.”
Su Qingrong, equally stunned and embarrassed, replied, “We must be seeing things. Let’s go upstairs and sleep. It’ll be fine when we wake up.”
Ewooooo! Weren’t they out travelling? 🫣
