Chapter 25: Knowingly Being the Third

"It's not like I'm stalking you or anything, I just want to know what you're up to all the time." Shi Ciyan affectionately brushed aside his tangled hair. "Why? Because I want to marry you, obviously."

Yu Wei was speechless. "Are you sick?"

As the main character who's supposed to be all righteous and kind, can't he have some awareness of his role? Ignoring his would-be partner Lin Yuchi, he drags an NPC like me to this godforsaken place and says with a straight face that he wants to marry me.

This is completely OOC. Doesn't the author care at all?

But Shi Ciyan said it so seriously that it didn't seem like he was teasing him. If his coworkers found out he wrecked the ship they were shipping, they'd kill him.

Yu Wei's head throbbed. He pleaded with him earnestly, "I have a fiancé. You're knowingly being the third wheel—that's so wrong. If you send me back to the Yu family now, I'll let these past two days slide." He had to get back as soon as possible to get rid of the baby. The later he waited, the more dangerous it would be, and Yu Wei didn't want to delay any longer.

Shi Ciyan seemed to read his mind, staring intently at him. "If I send you back, you're gonna get an abortion, right?"

"What does it have to do with you? It's my baby. I'll do whatever I want with it."

Shi Ciyan picked him up and walked toward the bedroom. "That won't do. You yourself said you'd give birth for me. Babe, you can't go back on your word."

Shi Ciyan held him with one arm. Fearing he might fall, Yu Wei didn't dare struggle; instead, he hugged Shi Ciyan's neck tightly and glared at him. "When did I ever say that? Don't talk crap." Suddenly Yu Wei realized something. "Didn't you say you were wasted and didn't remember anything?"

How could he remember what he said in bed?

Shi Ciyan didn't even flinch at being caught in his lie. His tone was calm. "If I'd told you I remembered, you'd've been avoiding me the whole time, right?"

"So you remembered everything from the start?"

No wonder Shi Ciyan was so certain that the child in his belly was his. So he was the one who'd been kept in the dark the whole time. He remembered everything from that day and also knew he might get pregnant. Then in the following months when his morning sickness was so bad, had Shi Ciyan figured out he was pregnant early on?

If Shi Ciyan knew he was pregnant, why didn't he say anything? If he'd known earlier, he could've gotten an abortion sooner and avoided all this suffering. He couldn't eat, couldn't sleep for nights on end, was restless and anxious, depressed, and losing weight visibly. Yet Shi Ciyan turned a blind eye to his suffering and never mentioned a word.

Yu Wei closed his eyes, forcing back his anger. "Shi Ciyan, when did you know I was pregnant?"

"Two months ago, at the coffee shop."

Yu Wei's head exploded like he'd been hit by a bomb, almost knocking him unconscious.

Shi Ciyan had hidden it from him for so long, making him suffer for two months. Yu Wei's eyes welled up, everything blurring. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Shi Ciyan didn't notice his emotions. He pushed open the bedroom door and gently placed him on the bed. "I told you many times to go see a doctor..."

Slap—

This time Yu Wei put all his strength into it. Even though he'd transmigrated into a delicate Omega, he was still a guy. This slap sent Shi Ciyan's head turning to the side.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier!"

Yu Wei's face was drenched in tears, sobbing his heart out, and the hand that had just slapped him trembled uncontrollably.

Yu Wei lashed out at Shi Ciyan with punches and kicks, showing no mercy, as if he wanted to vent all the emotions he had accumulated over the past three months.

Shi Ciyan didn't dodge, taking several punches without caring, while coaxing him and wiping away his tears.

But the more he wiped, the more tears flowed.

Shi Ciyan's heart felt as if it were gripped by an invisible hand, making it hard for him to breathe. But facing Yu Wei, he could do nothing except offer feeble verbal comfort. He didn't even know why Yu Wei was in so much pain.

Yu Wei cried for two hours until his eyes were swollen and red, and finally, unable to hold on, he cried himself unconscious in Shi Ciyan's arms.

Shi Ciyan gently placed him on the bed, removed the bandage from his hand, and used hot water to wash away the tear stains on Yu Wei's face.

This afternoon, when Yu Wei woke up and called his name for the first time, he had already woken up, but he didn't make a sound. He originally wanted to see what Yu Wei would do, and as expected, Yu Wei ran out.

He watched Yu Wei on the monitor for over three hours. He was prepared to go catch him at any moment, but Yu Wei stupidly walked halfway, then turned back on his own, went the wrong way, and then came back looking pitiful.

So foolish and yet so adorable.
