    Chapter 32 I Don’t Like You

The moment he saw the person outside the door, Yu Wei felt his blood run cold, his body stiffened, his hands trembling uncontrollably at his sides.

How did he find him? How did he know his address?

Yu Wei’s face was pale, his lips barely moving as he tried to speak but couldn’t get a word out.

“Brother Yuwei, aren’t you going to invite me in to sit for a bit?” Shi Ciyan’s lips curled into a faint, ambiguous smile, scanning the living room behind Yu Wei, then shifting his gaze back to Yu Wei who blocked the doorway. “I came all this way. Brother Yuwei, you wouldn’t even give me a glass of water, would you?”

Shi Ciyan took a step forward, closing in, startling him back to his senses. Yu Wei quickly blocked the door, saying, “There’s a café nearby. Let me buy you a coffee.”

At home, Yu An’s toys had mostly been put away in the bedroom, but there was still a chance some baby stuff might be in some corner he hadn’t noticed—something Shi Ciyan could spot and figure out.

Shi Ciyan’s eyes dropped, taking him in, clad in his loose bathrobe, raising an eyebrow. “You’re planning to go out dressed like that?”

Only then did Yu Wei realize he was still in his bathrobe. “I’ll change. Wait outside.”

Just as Yu Wei was about to close the door, Shi Ciyan raised his hand to stop it, holding it in place. He stared down at Yu Wei, his smile fading slightly. “What if I insist on you pouring me a glass of water yourself?”

Shi Ciyan pushed his way inside, leaving Yu Wei no chance to stop him.

Yu Wei had gone to great lengths to hide Yu An’s birth from everyone, all to prevent Shi Ciyan from knowing about Yu An’s existence.

Yu An was not yet a year old, with a weak immune system, so Yu Wei rarely took him out. Even when he did, it was fully covered and far from crowds. Apart from Ling Heyu and the nanny abroad, no one knew about Yu An. He couldn’t guess whether Shi Ciyan, when tracking down his address, had also discovered Yu An’s existence.

“Brother Yuwei, you’re so nervous as soon as I walk in. Have you hidden something or someone you don’t want me to see?”

Shi Ciyan had already walked to the living room, settling onto the sofa with a brief scan of the surroundings. He confirmed no suspicious person was present and no traces of another Alpha living there, and the knot in his stomach finally loosened.

He had searched for Yu Wei for a year and a half, finally finding him here, thanks to a remark Chen Lv made about Ling Heyu. After locating Yu Wei’s place, he didn’t dare dig any deeper, afraid of learning something he couldn’t bear.

As long as he found the person, he didn’t want to know who Yu Wei had been with during that year and a half. If he didn’t know, then nothing had happened—Yu Wei hadn’t been with anyone else.

Now, Yu Wei couldn’t kick him out, so he steeled himself and walked over to sit beside him. Knowing full well Shi Ciyan wasn’t really there for water, Yu Wei still asked, “There’s only me at home. What do you want to drink?”

“Ice water.” Shi Ciyan picked up the glass on the coffee table—half full, with a few ice cubes not yet melted—and took a sip. He set the glass down and looked up at Yu Wei. “Aren’t you gonna sit?”

Yu Wei was still standing in front of him. Seeing him drink that water, his expression turned awkward. “You’ve had your drink, so please go now... Ah—”

Shi Ciyan’s palm, still cold from holding the glass, suddenly grabbed Yu Wei’s wrist and pulled him into his arms. The cold sent an involuntary shiver through Yu Wei.

“Brother Yuwei, you’re sending me away as soon as I arrive. It really hurts my feelings.” Shi Ciyan gently stroked Yu Wei’s face, then lowered his head, his nose nuzzling affectionately against Yu Wei’s cheek. His mournful voice whispered in Yu Wei’s ear, “Brother Yuwei, I missed you so much. Don’t you miss me?”

“Don’t do this.” They were too close. Yu Wei, not having smelled the faint green apple pheromones in so long, felt his waist go weak and couldn’t break loose.

After giving birth to Yu An, Yu Wei had been on suppressants for so long. Now, suddenly smelling his pheromones, his body reacted instinctively, making him want to crawl into a hole in shame.

Suddenly, the phone on the coffee table rang. Yu Wei regained some clarity, glancing at the screen. His already limp body froze.

Ling Heyu was calling him on video.

Shi Ciyan heard it too and looked up. The name “Ling Heyu” on the screen sent a sour pang through his chest, but he quickly composed himself. He reached for the phone, playing with it in his hand, then looked down at the person in his arms. “Brother Yuwei, you want me to answer?”

Yu Wei tried to snatch it, but Shi Ciyan moved it farther away. “Let me answer for you.”

“Hang up. I don’t want to answer.”

Ling Heyu’s video call was most likely to show him the baby and reassure him.

    This call couldn’t be answered.

Shi Ciyan squinted. “He might have something important to tell you, brother. Go ahead and answer. Just pretend I’m not here.”

As Shi Ciyan’s finger moved toward the green answer button, he said, “Brother Yuwei, I’ll answer... Mm—”

Suddenly, Yu Wei wrapped his arms around Shi Ciyan’s neck, leaned in, and kissed him. Yu Wei had no experience—his clumsy lips pressed against Shi Ciyan’s, a sloppy kiss where their teeth occasionally knocked against Shi Ciyan’s lip.

Shi Ciyan froze, looking down at Yu Wei’s tightly closed eyes. Bitterness flooded his heart, his chest aching dully.

Yu Wei was afraid that if the call connected, Ling Heyu would see them together and misunderstand.

To protect Ling Heyu, he had taken the initiative and kissed him.

Shi Ciyan didn’t respond. He stared blankly at Yu Wei until, after a few minutes, Yu Wei realized there was no reciprocation. He slowly pulled away, meeting Shi Ciyan’s overly calm eyes. The flush that had spread across his cheeks drained instantly, his face turning pale to the point of transparency.

Yu Wei bit his lower lip nervously, hurriedly bent down to pick up the phone that had fallen at his feet, clutching it so hard his fingers turned white.

    The first time...

The first time in his right mind that he had ever taken the initiative to kiss him.

And Shi Ciyan just stood by indifferently, a cold observer.

A wave of inexplicable grievance surged within him, hard to accept.

Yu Wei didn’t want to stay here. Clutching the phone, he stood up, his lips trembling. “I’ll go change.”

As he turned to leave, his wrist was grabbed again. He looked back. Shi Ciyan drew closer, cupping his face with both hands and kissed him slowly.

It wasn’t rushed—a slow, deliberate kiss. The tip of Shi Ciyan’s tongue gently traced Yu Wei’s closed lips. Startled, Yu Wei closed his eyes, feeling the soft warmth on his lips and Shi Ciyan’s warm breath. He tentatively started to respond.

He didn’t dislike Shi Ciyan’s kisses, nor his touch.

But he was supposed to be the main character. Today, he would let that go.

When the kiss ended, Yu Wei was lying on the sofa, lips moist, a faint blush spreading over his cheeks. Shi Ciyan hovered above him, propping himself up a little. “Come back with me. Let’s be together for real, okay?”

Instead of answering directly, Yu Wei brushed the hair off Shi Ciyan’s forehead. “Shi Ciyan, how are things between you and Lin Yuchi?”

Shi Ciyan was taken aback. “Lin Yuchi? Who’s that?”

Yu Wei was speechless. “...Your roommate. Don’t you know him?”

Shi Ciyan shrugged, indifferent. “Oh, a roommate. Never kept in touch. Don’t know him.”

Yu Wei stopped smiling. “You moved out?”

Shi Ciyan nodded. He’d moved out after the first semester, and then spent his time looking for Yu Wei. He really couldn’t remember that guy.

Still, the fact that Yu Wei remembered him so clearly after all this time...

“So, will you come back with me?” Shi Ciyan didn’t want to keep talking about some other Alpha. He steered the conversation back to the main topic. “Brother Yuwei, you like me too, don’t you?”

Shi Ciyan leaned in to kiss the corner of Yu Wei’s mouth, but Yu Wei turned his head away, dodging. A moment earlier, things had been fine; now, suddenly refusing his kiss, his tone turned cold.

    “Shi Ciyan, get up.”

Shi Ciyan didn’t dare defy him. He quickly got up, then pulled Yu Wei up so he was sitting, looking at him with a pleading expression.

    "Yuwei, are you angry?"

Yu Wei stood up, smoothing his disheveled bathrobe, and said coldly, "I'm not going back with you, Shi Ciyan. There's no future for us."

Right now, he looked like a cold-hearted jerk who gets up and acts like nothing happened after getting what he wants.

Shi Ciyan's face went blank. "Why?"

Yu Wei had been fine just a moment ago… how could he…

"No reason. There's no future for us. Not before, and not now." Yu Wei kept his back to him, not daring to meet his eyes.

Half an hour ago, he had been blinded by lust and completely lost his head.

Now that he was sober, there was no way he was going back with him.

    Heh.

Shi Ciyan let out a bitter laugh. If Yu Wei hadn't brought up the past, it wouldn't have reminded him of the fact that Yu Wei had run so far away.

He got up, wrapped his arms around Yu Wei from behind, rested his chin on his shoulder, and whispered in his ear, "Brother Yu Wei, did I ever tell you before to stay put at the Yu family home and wait for me to come find you? But you... you secretly ran abroad, making me search for you for a full year and a half. Brother Yu Wei, I said that if you ran again, I would never let you off."

He had sworn that once he found Yu Wei, he'd forget everything and they'd start over, be together properly.

He never expected Yu Wei had absolutely no intention of going back with him.

Yu Wei had been so passionate just now, and with his help, he'd climaxed who knows how many times. Did he treat him like a male prostitute?

A sex worker who only gave without getting anything in return.

He couldn't stand to let Yu Wei get tired, and he hadn't even gotten a single reward in return.

Now Yu Wei was turning his back on him, refusing to acknowledge what had happened.

"If I don't leave, am I supposed to wait for you to force me to have the child?" Yu Wei's tone was flat, completely emotionless. "Shi Ciyan, you'll find someone more suitable for you in the future. Just let me go."

"I never intended to force you to have the baby." Shi Ciyan hurriedly explained upon hearing this. "I never thought about forcing you to do anything. The day you ran out of the hospital, I went to ask the doctor about getting an abortion. The doctor said you were three months pregnant, and an abortion would need surgery, not just pills. I was ready to schedule the surgery as soon as your fever broke."

"I really never meant to force you to carry the baby. If you don't want it, we won't have it. I don't like kids either. I don't want children—I only want you." Shi Ciyan explained urgently. "If you don't believe me, ask Chen Lv. If you don't trust him, I can take you to the OB-GYN I talked to. Just don't misunderstand me."

Yu Wei opened his mouth, but no sound came out.

After a long pause, he finally spoke. "You mean it?"

Shi Ciyan nodded repeatedly. "I never thought of forcing you to do anything. I really don't like kids. I only like you."

Yu Wei closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his gaze was clear.

"But I don't like you. I won't go back with you. We can never be together."

Shi Ciyan looked confused. "Yu Wei, why are you so cruel to me?"

What had he done wrong? Yu Wei gave him hope again and again, willingly getting close to him, but then rejected him time and time again.

    Why…?
