Chapter 19: A New God Is Born—The God of the Broomstick Star!

"What?" Yu Xing was stunned. From Yun Dai's tone, it seemed there were many gods?

Before she could ask further, a loud shout suddenly came from outside: "What are you all gathered here for?!"

Then, with a "click," a stocky teacher pushed the door open and immediately spotted Yu Xing and Yun Dai standing frozen facing each other.

The teacher was furious. "How dare you just barge into the teachers' office?!"

Yu Xing ducked her head and rushed out of the office, only to be startled—a large group of students had gathered outside.

Horrified, she turned back to look at Yun Dai, wondering if their conversation in the office had been overheard.

But Yun Dai strutted out nonchalantly, completely unbothered. Noticing Yu Xing's gaze, she even winked at her.

Panicked, Yu Xing leaned in and whispered, "They didn’t hear what we said in there, did they?"

Yun Dai tossed her red hair and replied with a smile, "Relax, the office has great soundproofing. There’s no way they heard anything."

"...That’s a relief." Yu Xing placed a hand over her heart and followed Yun Dai back to their classroom.

The students who had secretly followed, hoping to eavesdrop, now exchanged knowing glances. Clearly, those two had been discussing something scandalous in the office.

Their relationship was definitely not simple!

Soon, someone posted on the forum about Yun Dai and Yu Xing spending five minutes alone in the teachers' office. Fans of their complicated love square immediately went wild, spamming the thread with replies until it hit 99+ in seconds.

Back in the classroom, Yu Xing noticed Mei Hexuan was still absent. She sighed—she had hoped to have lunch with him.

Since she didn’t have his contact info, she debated whether to message Gu Ya instead, inviting him to lunch before breaking it to him that she had decided to be with Mei Hexuan.

Just then, a familiar figure appeared at the classroom door. "Yu Xing, the principal wants to see you."

It was none other than Li Mao, Seventh Middle School’s robot.

Yu Xing hesitated before standing up. Why would the principal want to see her? Was he about to play the bad guy and break them up?

"Don’t worry," Yun Dai gave her a reassuring look. "If anything happens, just tell me. I’ll help."

That eased Yu Xing’s mind. Following Li Mao, her thoughts raced through every teen drama trope. The worst-case scenario? Walking into the principal’s office to find Gu Ya or Mei Hexuan’s parents waiting.

They’d probably force her to break up with their sons, revoke her scholarship, and even expel her...

"We’re here." Li Mao stopped at an office door, knocked, and pushed it open. Turning to Yu Xing, he gestured politely. "Yu Xing, you may enter."

Yu Xing glanced at him, then peered inside.

The principal’s office was spacious, but from the doorway, she couldn’t see much.

Swallowing hard, she steeled herself. *Don’t be scared, Yu Xing. You have the Broomstick Star Skill and a magic wand. If they try to break you up, just fight back.*

Feeling slightly more confident, she took a deep breath and stepped inside.

The office had a retro, minimalist decor. As she entered, she spotted a small round table by the window, where two men and a woman sat.

The oldest, a portly man, was the principal—Yu Xing recognized him from the photo at the school gate.

The other two looked young, though appearances were deceiving these days. The man, in his twenties, wore a white tracksuit and had an aloof demeanor.

The woman, also appearing to be in her twenties, sported dreadlocks and smoky eye makeup, looking punk-rock cool.

As Yu Xing wondered if they were Gu Ya’s or Mei Hexuan’s parents, the principal stood up. "This is her. I’ll leave you to it."

With a cheerful smile, he patted Yu Xing’s shoulder on his way out.

"Level 216/250 of the Broomstick Star."

"Yu Xing," the principal said kindly, "no matter where you go, this school will always welcome you."

    Yu Xing: "..."

Baffled, she watched him leave. What did that even mean?

Moments later, a loud *thud* echoed outside, followed by the principal’s yelp of pain: "Ah!!"

Li Mao’s concerned voice followed. "Principal, you’re hurt. Let me take you to the infirmary."

    Yu Xing: "..."

"Yu Xing." The woman with dreadlocks beckoned her over. "Come sit."

Confused and nervous, Yu Xing obeyed, sitting stiffly under their scrutiny.

The man in white was scrolling through his device, while the woman slid a drink toward Yu Xing. "Don’t be nervous. We’re not that scary, are we?"

Yu Xing managed a timid smile. Who were they? Why were they here?

She hadn’t been in this world long and hadn’t met many people. The only ones who’d seek her out at school had to be connected to Gu Ya or Mei Hexuan.

"Do you know who we are?" The woman’s brown eyes bore into hers.

    The pressure was intense.

Yu Xing gulped and nodded hesitantly.

The woman’s blackish-purple lips curled. "Then do you know why we’re here?"

"Probably... yes." Yu Xing’s voice was tiny—first-time meeting the parents was nerve-wracking.

"Good." The woman leaned back, arms crossed, looking smug. "Then walk us through what happened."

"Huh?" Yu Xing jerked her head up.

Assuming they were Gu Ya’s family, she hesitated. She and Mei Hexuan had just gotten together—there wasn’t much to say.

But she decided honesty was best.

"It wasn’t my idea," Yu Xing mumbled, her face burning.

The woman raised an eyebrow, sharing a confused look with the man.

"He insisted, and I... couldn’t refuse." Yu Xing’s face burned hotter. "He took me to a derelict warehouse, got on his knees and begged me to tie him up, make him undress, and whip him. I didn’t want to, but he was so persistent... I like him so much, so I agreed. But that wasn’t enough—he wanted everyone involved. Whipping eleven people alone was really tiring..."

As Yu Xing recounted, the two people before her, their expressions abruptly shifted.

The woman with dreadlocks abruptly raised her hand, "Wait!"

"Huh?" Yu Xing looked up in confusion.

"What are you talking about?" The woman with dreadlocks' face contorted as she gasped, "I asked you to describe what happened last night. What on earth are you saying?"

    "..."

Yu Xing met the woman's gaze, her expression slowly went blank. She realized something—she must have genuinely mistaken their identities.

"Aren't you... Gu Ya's parents?" Yu Xing asked.

Hearing this, the white track jacket man's mouth twitched and he turned his face away. The woman with dreadlocks finally understood the misunderstanding—this Yu Xing had no idea who they were.

"Jesus." The woman with dreadlocks covered her face with her hand.

Two seconds later, she lowered her hand, her expression turning serious again. "We're here to investigate last night's bus incident. Don't tell me you don't know about it."

"..." Yu Xing's expression shifted unpredictably before she snapped, "So that's what this is about? Why didn't you say so earlier? Is this some kind of joke, deceiving a minor into revealing private details?"

    "..."

Another silence fell. The woman with dreadlocks and the white track jacket man felt extremely conflicted.

The woman with dreadlocks was speechless, thinking, *Who deceived you? You volunteered that information yourself...*

But since she was here on official business, she struggled to keep a composed expression. "I... I didn't make it clear. My mistake. Now that you know, please give us a detailed account."

Yu Xing didn't stay angry for long. Once she realized these people had no connection to either of her boyfriends, she relaxed considerably.

Her previously prim sitting position vanished, replaced by her crossing her legs and absentmindedly jiggling one foot.

"How did you know I was on the bus last night?" Yu Xing remembered there were no surveillance cameras where they got off.

The woman with dreadlocks, still feeling complicated, didn't elaborate. Instead, she opened her terminal and played a video for Yu Xing.

The footage showed Yu Xing boarding the bus the previous day, chatting with several girls in the same school uniform. Everyone was focused on each other, oblivious to the grisly transformation happening inside the driver's compartment.

"This is the bus surveillance," the woman with dreadlocks said, pausing the video right as a girl was impaled through the chest. "Originally, the footage was corrupted along with the bus, but we managed to restore it. So, please tell us truthfully what happened last night. No bullshit."

As she spoke, her eyes turned cold, as if she had done this countless times before.

But Yu Xing didn't understand. "If you already have the footage, why not just watch it? Why do you need to ask me?"

*Because the surveillance broke after the crash. There's no record of how the threat was eliminated...*

The woman with dreadlocks opened her mouth, then glanced at the white track jacket man. As the unit commander, wasn't it inappropriate for him to stay silent?

Feeling her gaze, the white track jacket man looked at Yu Xing. This student was still a minor, with the appearance of a well-behaved girl—if not for her earlier shocking confession...

"Well." He cleared his throat, not following the woman with dreadlocks' line of questioning. Instead, he asked Yu Xing, "When did you become a Divine Chosen?"

"Uh." Yu Xing felt a spike of panic. She was acutely aware she wasn't a Divine Chosen—her ability to defeat the monster was entirely due to her Broomstick Star Skill. But she couldn't admit that, so she repeated what she had told Yun Dai earlier, mumbled, "A few days ago."

The white track jacket man nodded while checking his terminal. "Mm. Which deity do you follow?"

    Yu Xing: "Um..."

A good question—one that left Yu Xing scrambling for an answer.

Seeing her hesitate, the dreadlocked woman eyed her skeptically. "What's so hard to say about this?"

Yu Xing parted her lips slightly. Just as she was debating whether to tell the truth or suddenly make a break for it from Seventh Middle School, the man gave her a strange look for a moment.

Then he stood up and said, "No need to complicate things. Today happens to be Friday—let’s take her to the church first."

A few minutes later, Yu Xing was bundled into an ordinary-looking car. They were headed to the church.

The church wasn’t actually far from Seventh Middle School, separated only by a park. However, the body’s original owner had never wandered around District B, so she had no idea there was a church on the other side of the park.

From a distance, Yu Xing spotted a stretch of white buildings, their shape somewhat resembling certain religious structures from Earth.

The car stopped in a dedicated parking lot outside the church. After getting out, they still had to climb a long flight of stairs before truly reaching the church.

Since arriving in this world, this was the first time Yu Xing had encountered a situation requiring her to climb stairs. It grated on her—she hated stairs, especially long climbs like this. She turned to ask about an elevator, but noticed the two looked solemn, almost reverent, as if something sacred awaited them ahead.

Yu Xing clamped her mouth shut, quietly following them up the stairs. Ten minutes later, they arrived at the plaza outside the church’s main hall.

At the entrance, two long flower beds lined the path, filled with small purple flowers.

They weren’t the only ones preparing to enter the church. Ahead of them, a few others were also heading inside. Yu Xing observed that each of them was accompanied by one or several teenagers, all around her age.

Yu Xing’s eyes widened slightly. Just as she was about to speak, the woman with dreadlocks whispered in her ear, "Don’t speak. Hold your questions."

Yu Xing had no choice but to bite back her words.

The church looked like it was made of marble, though Yu Xing couldn’t identify it precisely. The entire structure was snow-white, with intricate relief carvings on the walls depicting unfamiliar symbols.

The two led Yu Xing in last. As soon as she entered, her gaze was drawn to the enormous statue at the far end. It was a massive, perfectly round sculpture—was it even a statue or just a giant ball?

Kneeling by the statue was a figure clad in a long red robe. Barefoot, pale, with golden curls spilling over their shoulders, Yu Xing couldn’t see the person’s face but sensed they weren’t very old.

Dozens of candles flickered on either side of the circular statue—some burning with flames, others unlit.

The air hummed with strangeness. Yu Xing instinctively looked up and was startled to find the temple’s ceiling partially open, exposing the sky above.

The others had split up—adults on the sides, teens in the center.

Before Yu Xing could figure out what was happening, the woman with dreadlocks nudged her forward and murmured, "Go. Stand over there."

What the hell was going on?

Yu Xing felt uneasy but complied, taking the leftmost position.

She glanced around. There were seven teenagers in total—four girls and three boys—plus her, making eight. Each stood stiffly, barely hiding their excitement.

Just as Yu Xing was utterly baffled, the red-robed man kneeling beneath the circular statue finally moved—he stood up.

Only then did Yu Xing realize just how tall he was—nearly two meters, perhaps?

The red-robed man rose and turned his gaze toward them. Caught off guard, Yu Xing met his golden gaze.

Her heart pounded uncontrollably, and she quickly lowered her head. Was this... a crush? No way.

"All the children for today have arrived," someone nearby announced. "Thank you for your efforts, Bishop of Reims."

Is this red-robed man a bishop? He looks strangely young, nothing like the old men Yu Xing had imagined.

She didn’t hear the Bishop of Reims speak, but she saw the trailing red robe moving toward them. As he walked, glimpses of his alabaster bare feet appeared and disappeared beneath the robe, soundless as they stepped across the church floor.

Finally, the Bishop of Reims stopped in front of the girl standing at the far right.

"Kneel," a gentle voice spoke. Yu Xing’s ears twitched slightly, feeling a faint itch.

    "What is your name?"

    "Zhao Lan."

"Close your eyes," the voice continued. "Recite the name of the Lord devoutly in your heart."

Yu Xing sneaked a glance and saw the Bishop of Reims holding a bottle in his left hand, his right hand dipping into the water inside. With a flick of his slender fingers, droplets struck the face of the kneeling girl before him.

Suddenly, Yu Xing sensed something. She turned her head and saw one of the many burning candles flanking the circular statue flare violently.

"So, you are a believer of the God of Frost," the Bishop of Reims nodded, extending his right hand. "Rise."

The girl named Zhao Lan opened her eyes. Instead of taking his hand, she pushed herself up.

The Bishop of Reims said nothing and moved to the next boy. "Kneel."

The boy dropped to his knees instantly. "What is your name?" Reims asked.

    "Fei Mingming."

    "Close your eyes…"

The ritual repeated as before. When the Bishop of Reims flicked water onto Fei Mingming’s face, another candle flame flickered ahead.

"You are a believer of the Plant God," Reims pronounced. "Rise."

Fei Mingming stood respectfully, head lowered silently.

Yu Xing watched in shock. Could they really determine someone’s faith this easily? Does that mean I can’t even lie?

What if they find out I’m not a Divine Chosen? Will they kill me?

Dread coiled in her chest. She had just crossed over here, scarcely started her new life—she even had two boyfriends! To die now would be such a waste!

Just as she was scrambling for a way out, a hushed gasp rippled through the crowd.

Yu Xing looked up and saw the great circular idol radiating light.

She heard the Bishop of Reims’ voice tinged with excitement. "To think another Moon God’s Beloved has appeared in the Seven Cities."

    Moon God?

Yu Xing turned and saw a black-haired girl kneeling on the ground. Unlike the others, she was looking up at the Bishop of Reims with pride.

While the others had only made candle flames flicker, this girl had made the statue glow. Was the Moon God different from the others?

    "Rise," Reims said.

The girl stood, chin lifted defiantly, her smugness dripping from her.

Despite her arrogance, the Bishop of Reims paid her no extra attention and moved to the next person.

Four more followed, none of them another Moon God’s Beloved, until finally, it was Yu Xing’s turn.

The Bishop of Reims’ bare, delicate feet stopped before her. Yu Xing met his gaze, her eyes clouded with dread.

I don’t worship any god. What am I supposed to do?

"Kneel," the Bishop of Reims said tonelessly.

Yu Xing reluctantly knelt, plotting her escape with her staff if things turned deadly.

"What is your name?" Reims asked.

    "Yu Xing," she murmured weakly.

"Close your eyes," Reims looked down at the girl at his feet. "Recite the name of the Lord devoutly in your heart."

"..." Yu Xing closed her eyes and thought bitterly, As a believer in communism, we are all our own masters. We don’t have any "Lord"—

Mid-protest, she felt a cool splash on her face.

She jerked her eyes open, first landing on a pale, elegant hand that looked like carved jade.

Then she looked ahead—no flickering flames, no glowing statue.

I’m finished. They’ll see through me now.

Just as her fingers fidgeted with the storage ring on her finger, a sudden *fwoosh* erupted. A previously unlit candle burst into flames, the fire leaping unnaturally high.

    "..."

Yu Xing was stunned. What just happened?

    The crowd gasped around her.

    "By the gods—"

    "A new god—"

Yu Xing turned and saw the onlookers gaping at her.

    What just happened?

Her heart hammered. She looked up and locked eyes with the Bishop of Reims’ gilded gaze.

They held each other’s gaze for a moment before Reims suddenly smiled. He gently placed a hand on her head and said softly, "Fear not, child. A new deity is born."

    A new god?

Yu Xing’s thoughts reeled even faster than her racing heart. Nothing made sense.

"It has been ten years since a new god last appeared," Reims said reverently. "This is a blessed event—proof that our Lord’s power grows ever stronger."

The onlookers erupted. "Praise the Moon God!"

    "All praise to the Lord!"

"Good child." Bishop Lans looked at Yu Xing with affection, "Quickly tell me, the name of that new god."

    Yu Xing: "..."

Yu Xing stared at him stiffly, thinking to herself, *How should I know? I’m even more clueless than you.*

But under Bishop Lans’s intense gaze, Yu Xing had no choice but to give a name. Her lips trembled, "Mis..."

No! *God of Misfortune* sounds way too cheap!

"Hmm..." Yu Xing hesitated nervously, then suddenly remembered the two words beside the magic circle in the previous host’s journal.

"God of... Misfortune," Yu Xing said slowly.

"The new god’s name is Misfortune!" Bishop Lans declared loudly.

The onlookers immediately erupted in excitement, shouting, "Our pantheon has gained a new god!"

    "Praise the Moon God!"

    "Praise the God of Misfortune!"

"Good child, rise quickly." Lans smiled as he pulled Yu Xing up from the ground. His golden eyes were filled with warmth as he held her hand affectionately and said, "Now tell me, what is your *Divine Skill*?"

Divine Skill? So, like an ability?

Yu Xing already understood. She glanced at Lans’s hand holding hers and whispered, "My Divine Skill is... whoever touches me gets cursed with misfortune."

The moment these words left her mouth, a hush fell over the crowd, then they immediately took an unison retreat—even the dude at her right flank.

Only Bishop Lans remained unmoved, his kindly smile not faltering in the slightest.

Yu Xing stared at him silently before finally asking, "Aren’t you afraid?"

Bishop Lans’s youthfully handsome face deepened into a smile. "Child, your understanding of Divine Skills is still too shallow. You’ll need time to learn. You’ve only just become a Divine Chosen—your Divine Skill can’t touch me."

    Is that so?

Yu Xing wasn’t entirely convinced. She had seen the pink system alert and thought the attack had already succeeded.

Only then did Lans release her hand. He took a few steps back, looking at the eight initiates before him with satisfaction. "From today onward, you are the honored Divine Chosen of all humanity. Return and prepare yourselves. Afterward, you must remain in the church for a period of study..."

Stepping out of the church and feeling the warm sunlight outside, Yu Xing frowned. "Do I really have to come to the church to study?"

"Of course," the woman with dreadlocks said. "All Divine Chosen who’ve undergone the baptism must study at the church for a while."

    "Study what?" Yu Xing asked.

"Mostly knowledge about gods and Divine Skills, but mainly to teach you kids how to use your Divine Skills." The woman with dreadlocks instinctively raised her hand to throw an arm around Yu Xing but suddenly remembered something and quickly lowered it.

"God of Misfortune," the woman with dreadlocks mused, clicking her tongue. "Sounds pretty impressive."

This was Yu Xing’s first real encounter with this world’s supernatural side. Curious, she asked the woman with dreadlocks, "Which god do you worship?"

The woman swelled with pride. "I worship the God of Steel."

"And you?" Yu Xing turned to the man in the white athletic jacket.

Before he could answer, the woman with dreadlocks interjected even more proudly, "Our squad leader is the Moon God Chosen."

"Like that girl?" Yu Xing was intrigued. "What’s the Moon God Chosen’s Divine Skill?"

The woman with dreadlocks opened her mouth but suddenly grew impatient. "Why the third degree? You’ll find out when you study at the church."

Yu Xing wasn’t offended. "Don’t think I don’t know—you’re just putting on this act to reel me in."

"What?" The woman with dreadlocks was confused.

Yu Xing didn’t want to play these guessing games, especially since she wasn’t into girls. So she changed the subject. "Do I really have to study at the church?"

She didn’t want to be away from her grandmother for too long. "If it’s just about learning how to use Divine Skills, I don’t think I need lessons."

"Pfft." The woman with dreadlocks rolled her eyes. "You think it’s just about Divine Skills? After graduating from the church, you’ll have to make a choice—whether to join the Divine Chosen Team or the military."

Divine Chosen Team? Yu Xing had heard Yun Dai mention it and knew this white-clad man was the dreadlocked woman’s captain.

"So you’re part of the Divine Chosen Team?" Yu Xing asked.

"Damn straight." The woman with dreadlocks suddenly got in her space. "Interested in joining us later?"

    Yu Xing: "..."

After a moment’s thought, Yu Xing shook her head. "Can I choose not to join anything?"

"You can," the woman with dreadlocks said, baffled. "But if you don’t want to join anything, what do you plan to do?"

"I want to keep studying and stack paper." Yu Xing tilted her head slightly, her eyes filled with longing. "I have too much keeping me grounded here."

Hearing this, even the white-clad man couldn’t help but look at her. "You’re so young—where do all these ties come from?"

Yu Xing shot him a glance, as if to say *you guys wouldn’t get it*. "I have family here."

The white-clad man said, "If you join the Divine Chosen Team, your relatives will receive perks. They’ll get full medical coverage and even be able to relocate to the B District."

Yu Xing wet her lips. "Here’s the thing about my two boyfriends? If I join the Divine Chosen Team, can I still see them whenever I damn well please?"

    "..."

    "..."

The woman with dreadlocks and the white-clad man’s faces went through five kinds of wtf simultaneously. They stared at Yu Xing in a beat of stunned silence for a long moment before the man finally asked the question eating at him: "Your two boyfriends... do they know about each other?"

"Of course," Yu Xing said matter-of-factly. "I’m not the kind of person who would two-time them."

    "..."

The woman with dreadlocks’s face made a face like she’d bitten a lemon. "They... actually agreed? I mean, they’re cool with an open relationship?"

"Hey, don’t blame me." Yu Xing smiled sweetly. "They’re just crazy about me."

    "..."

Yu Xing: "So I don’t want to leave them. I really want to be with them 24/7."

    "..."

By now, they had made their way down the chapel stairs and arrived at the parking lot.

The guy in white took a deep breath and opened the car door, saying, "Get in. We still have real work to do."

Once seated in the car, the guy in white rubbed his temples. He had once been a student at Seventh Middle School himself, and after so many years away, he suddenly realized he couldn’t wrap his head around what current students were thinking.

"By the way," the guy in white said after getting in the car, "My name is Bai Qinghe, captain of the Second Divine Chosen Team in Seven Cities."

"It's been so long, and we forgot to introduce ourselves," the woman with the dreads said from the driver's seat, turning to Yu Xing with a smile. "I'm Su Wenmo, a member of the Second Team."

Yu Xing looked at her dreadlocks and lips painted plum-black, thinking the name "Wenmo" seemed way too prim for her.

As Su Wenmo drove, Bai Qinghe asked Yu Xing questions while browsing the Seventh Middle School forum, wanting to understand what the school was like now.

"Now, can you tell us what exactly happened on the bus last night?" Bai Qinghe asked, clicking on the forum.

The first post that caught his eye was:

    "Unpacking Yu Xing's Love Square."

    Bai Qinghe: "?"

He couldn't help but glance back at Yu Xing. Didn't she say she had two boyfriends? Why was it a love square?

Meanwhile, Yu Xing looked all wide-eyed innocence, seriously pondering how to describe last night's events to them. After the church's baptism, she had a basic understanding of the Divine and Divine Skills, so she no longer had to worry about revealing anything.

"Ahem," Yu Xing cleared her throat. "Where should I start?"

"From the beginning," Su Wenmo said while driving. "Start from when you boarded that bus."

Yu Xing thought for a moment. "Alright. Yesterday after school, I waited for the bus as usual, but this time was different—someone was waiting for me on it. Yun Dai... ahem, my classmate, was there with a few others."

"What were they waiting for?" Su Wenmo asked reflexively.

"Well..." Yu Xing said, "Nothing much, just some hanging out between close classmates."

"Really?" Su Wenmo didn't believe her. "But from the security cam, it looked like you were fighting."

Yu Xing got caught. Was she supposed to admit the messy will-they-won't-they between her and Yun Dai?

"Ahem—" Suddenly, Bai Qinghe in the passenger seat started coughing violently, his face turning red.

Su Wenmo grew concerned. "Captain, are you sick?"

Bai Qinghe wasn't sick. He had just finished reading a post on the Seventh Middle School forum about Yu Xing's messy drama involving two men and a woman.

After finally stopping his hacking cough, he looked at Yu Xing again, his expression a look that said everything and nothing.

Yu Xing met his gaze and thought, *Oh great, another one.*

She squeezed her eyes shut in exasperation, feeling like the most done with this shit person in the world.

*Whatever. If he doesn't confess, I’ll pretend not to notice.*

"Keep going," Su Wenmo urged. "Why were you fighting?"

Yu Xing paused just a beat. "It's not important. Messing around between classmates is normal. Anyway, everything was fine until suddenly, one of them got impaled through the chest. Then we realized the driver had turned into a monster at some point..."

As Yu Xing laid out the events, Bai Qinghe opened another post.

"Yun Dai Rejected by a Commoner! Goddess Breaks Down in Tears!"

Inside was a video—simple footage of Yu Xing kissing another girl who had also been on the bus yesterday.

    Bai Qinghe: "..."

He tried to recall his own time at Seventh Middle School. Back then, it had been all about the books where students focused on studying—just your average school for education.

He took a deep breath and exited the post, only for his eyes to go wide at the next one:

"He Yan Uses His Position to Push Yu Xing, Who Jumps Off a Building in Anger!"

He Yan? The name sounded vaguely familiar. After a moment, he remembered—a teacher. Back when he was about to leave Seventh Middle School to join the Divine Chosen Team, a new teacher named He Yan had arrived.

He Yan pressured Yu Xing into jumping off a building? What was going on?

Bai Qinghe clicked in immediately, and what he saw hit him like a truck. How could something like this happen at Seventh Middle School?

He couldn’t help but look at Yu Xing. Despite her bright personality, she had been through that kind of hell.

But why jump? With Divine Skills, dealing with an ordinary person shouldn’t have been an issue.

Unless she hadn’t become a Divine Chosen yet?

Yu Xing felt Bai Qinghe’s intense gaze but tried to ignore it, simplifying the explanation. "Because my Divine Skill requires direct physical contact with the monster to work, I had to keep touching it. I stopped counting how many times I did, but suddenly the bus hit something, and everything went spinning..."

Bai Qinghe looked away, only to spot another weird-ass post.

"Yu Xing & Gu Ya Resources. If you know, you know. Hurry In!"

    What did that mean?

He clicked in. The content was just a file pack, with replies uniformly expressing gratitude.

    [Thanks, OP! Bless you, OP!]

    [Grateful!]

    [On my knees thanking you!]

    [Absolute legend...]

Bai Qinghe frowned deeply. What was this?

To figure it out, he downloaded the file pack. The moment the download finished, the post was deleted.

He remembered the Seventh Middle School forum never used to delete student posts. What changed?

Not thinking too hard, he unpacked the resource with the default media player.

As the video played, the first thing he saw was a patch of green grass—the Old Era Park in Seven Cities.

Then came two men, both naked, lying on the grass. One was a young man with a line of glinting collarbone studs.

The other, to his absolute horror, was someone he recognized—a Divine Chosen from Seven Cities named Han Jian.

    What the hell was this?

Bai Qinghe's eyes widened in disbelief, unable to comprehend why Han Jian would appear in a video on Seventh Middle School's forum, and looking like that.

Then he saw a hand—a hand gripping a whip—begin to lash the two men lying on the ground.

    "......"

Bai Qinghe suddenly threw his terminal aside and shut his eyes tightly, feeling like his eyes were violated!

    What the hell was that?!

Why would something like this be on the school forum?!

Yu Xing and Su Wenmo were startled by Bai Qinghe's abrupt reaction. Su Wenmo looked at her captain in confusion. "Captain, what's wrong? You okay? Your face is burning up!"
