Chapter 95
by 廿乱Chapter 95
Jiang Yicen and Nan Shuyi wanted to secure funding from Nan Anru, so naturally they had to show some filial piety.
So, over the next few days, Nan Shuyi showed up at Nan Anru's office every single day.
Nan Anru was starting to get sick of the sight of Nan Shuyi.
Before, when Nan Shuyi didn't come home, he would often check his social media updates. He had even added several of his friends on WeChat, using their Moments to keep an eye on what his son was up to—what dangerous sports he was getting into, what remote corner of the world he was hiking in, and what new reckless stunt he was up to.
Now, watching Nan Shuyi lounging on the sofa sending messages, he couldn't help getting annoyed.
Nan Anru: "What are you doing coming to my office every day?"
Nan Shuyi said lazily, "Showing filial piety, of course. I'm just here to have a couple more lunches with you."
Nan Anru shot him a big eye roll. "Can't you talk right? Do I look like I need your filial piety? Yeah, you're a real filial son, aren't you?"
The more he looked at Nan Shuyi, the more he got on his nerves.
Nan Shuyi rolled over and sat up on the sofa, looking way more awake than when he was lying down.
"Fine, if you don't want me being filial, forget it."
Nan Anru grabbed a throw pillow and tossed it at him. Nan Shuyi caught it effortlessly.
"Get out of here. Don't come showing filial piety for the next couple of days. I'd rather have Yicen come have lunch with me. You live with him every day and haven't picked up a single bit of his gentleness or thoughtfulness. Yicen's words are a hundred times nicer to hear than yours."
Nan Shuyi: "If his words are nice to hear, they're for me to hear. You're an old man—go back and listen to your wife's sweet talk."
Nan Anru: "You little brat, still daring to make fun of your old man."
As Nan Anru grabbed the mouse to throw at him, Nan Shuyi quickly ducked out of Nan Anru's office, and before closing the door, he reminded him about the money.
"Don't forget to send me the money!"
Bang!
He quickly shut the door, missing his dad's booming shout of "Not lending!"
Whatever. He didn't want to hear it.
After heading downstairs, he didn't find Jiang Yicen in the office, so he asked Jiajia, who was passing by: "Jiajia, where's President Jiang?"
Jiajia shook her head. "He was in the break room just a second ago."
Nan Shuyi nodded and headed back to his own office.
Once he was inside, Jiajia said to Dabing, "Have you noticed President Nan's been looking for Yicen a lot lately?"
Dabing: "Aren't they always close?"
Jiajia: "That's true, but President Nan keeps his partner so under wraps. Why hasn't he ever brought him around the company?"
Dabing: "President Nan is a celebrity. He's probably trying to protect his family. You know how crazy the media can be."
Jiajia: "Makes sense."
Hu Miao, who was walking over to find Jiajia for something, overheard their conversation and couldn't help thinking back to the little gestures between the two bosses at their last meeting. He cleared his throat.
Maybe President Nan and his partner at home were playing around on the side?
"Jiajia, I need to talk to you about the Mid-Autumn Festival candy thing..."
Dabing glanced at the group chat. "Oh my god, Wang Yujian is at the company today? Miao-ge, why aren't you going to greet him?"
Hu Miao: "Not my job. The branding team invited him. They're doing a one-hour livestream today. Didn't President Jiang head over?"
Jiajia was super curious. "Ge, can you take us to check it out? We've never seen Wang Yujian in person."
Dabing: "Yeah, we want to go too. Just one peek and we'll come back."
Hu Miao: "It's probably packed. We might not even be able to get in right now."
Jiajia: "But you must know the schedule. Please, please!"
Dabing: "Please, please!"
Hu Miao gave in. "Fine, let's go. We can wait in the livestream room first. The floor tour is too crowded to get into right now."
Jiajia and Dabing: "Let's go, go, go!"
Meanwhile, back in his office, Nan Shuyi texted Jiang Yicen. When he didn't get a reply, he came back out of his office.
He wanted to talk to Jiang Yicen about the Yongjiang Hotel.
Even though they planned to buy the Yongjiang Hotel, there hadn't been any movement yet, mainly because Nan Anru still needed to have people look into the hotel's current situation. It wasn't just the two of them involved anymore. But Nan Anru's investigation was just to make sure they didn't get ripped off—in the future, the hotel would still belong to him and Jiang Yicen.
As soon as Nan Shuyi stepped out, he saw Jiajia and Dabing excitedly dragging Hu Miao toward the elevator.
"You three are so hyped—where are you headed?"
The three of them froze—that was the terror of getting caught slacking off by the boss.
Hu Miao, being the oldest and more level-headed, said, "Wang Yujian is at the company today for a livestream promo. We wanted to go check out the livestream room."
The moment Nan Shuyi heard Wang Yujian's name, his rival radar started blaring. "Did Jiang Yicen head over there too?"
Why's he here again!
Hu Miao nodded. "Yeah, he should be in the livestream room. He said he wanted to go check it out."
Nan Shuyi nodded, looking calm on the surface, but his feet were already heading for the elevator.
The four of them got into the elevator. Jiajia and Dabing barely dared to breathe, while Hu Miao quietly texted Jiang Yicen, telling him Nan Shuyi was heading to the livestream room.
He knew about Wang Yujian's sexuality—it wasn't a secret in the industry. Wang Yujian clearly had a thing for Jiang Yicen. President Jiang was gay, and President Nan was too. What a messy gay scene!
·
When they got to the fifteenth floor, it was packed. Employees who'd heard the news had all come up to watch, which showed just how popular Wang Yujian was.
Security had already come up to keep order. If it weren't for Nan Shuyi's face, Hu Miao and the other three wouldn't have gotten into the livestream room.
They arrived just in time—because of the crowd, the floor tour had ended early, and Wang Yujian had gone straight to the livestream room.
When Nan Shuyi walked in, everyone who'd been focused on Wang Yujian turned to look at him.
The staff were testing Wang Yujian's mic, and next to him, a host was going over the rundown.
However, Wang Yujian seized the chance to chat with Jiang Yicen, who was standing off to the side watching the setup.
Wang Yujian clearly hadn't given up on Jiang Yicen: "Don't take off right away. I grabbed a little something for you while I was in France for the film festival."
Jiang Yicen, however, only wanted to maintain a casual friendship with him: "Thanks, but I didn't do anything to earn that."
Wang Yujian was no fool—he knew Jiang Yicen had turned him down before: "I got something for all my friends; can't leave you out."
That put Jiang Yicen at ease: "Well, thanks in advance then."
Wang Yujian caught Nan Shuyi approaching out of the corner of his eye and suddenly smiled at Jiang Yicen: "Then you'll wait for me a bit, okay?"
Jiang Yicen: "Sure."
Nan Shuyi had just gotten close enough to overhear the last part and cursed inwardly: *What a snake.*
He asked with a fake smile: "Wait for what?"
Jiang Yicen answered honestly: "Mr. Wang said he brought gifts for friends from France, and I've got one too."
Nan Shuyi: "Then I should get one too."
Jiang Yicen guessed Wang Yujian hadn't prepared anything for Nan Shuyi, so he said: "You can have mine."
Nan Shuyi: "Thanks, Mr. Wang."
Wang Yujian: "..."
The person running today's livestream saw Nan Shuyi arrive and immediately came over to greet him.
"Mr. Nan, what are you here for?"
"Just checking things out. Go about your business; don't worry about us."
Since Wang Yujian and Nan Shuyi had been snapped together at the movies before and it had blown up online, everyone figured they were friends. Seeing the three of them chatting so amiably, everyone assumed they were old friends.
A few clueless employees were quietly shipping them, but the more they watched, the more they felt President Jiang had better chemistry with Nan Shuyi. Before long, Mr. Nan pulled over a chair for him, and when President Jiang refused, Nan Shuyi leaned in to whisper to him, the two of them whispering, and the vibe between them made it clear no one else could get in.
Since everyone else was standing, Jiang Yicen felt weird about sitting.
Jiang Yicen whispered: "Cut it out. Everyone's working; me sitting here looks weird."
Nan Shuyi leaned close to his ear: "Can't have our young master getting tired."
Jiang Yicen curled his lips slightly: "Stop teasing me."
Nan Shuyi: "Yes, young master."
Jiang Yicen nudged him with his elbow: "Nan Shuyi, I'm gonna get mad if you keep this up."
Nan Shuyi put a hand on his shoulder and eased him down into the chair: "Then sit."
He grabbed another chair and sat down next to Jiang Yicen, so it didn't look weird after all.
Wang Yujian kept stealing glances at them, feeling worse the longer he watched, wondering if he even still had a shot. No one else seemed able to get between those two.
He'd finally found someone who made his heart race, only to miss out because he was a step too late.
Wang Yujian felt a pang of regret again, and when the host asked him a question, he spaced out and almost forgot to give the answer they'd rehearsed.
The livestream had multiple cameras set up. A staffer, probably new, slipped while adjusting a camera and accidentally panned it toward Nan Shuyi. Another staffer happened to switch to that feed at the same moment, and so Nan Shuyi and Jiang Yicen ended up right on camera. Even though it only lasted a second or two, millions of viewers online saw it.
-Isn't that Master Nan?
-Who's the hot guy next to Nan Shuyi?
-Did my ship actually sail? Are Master Nan and Old Wang really together?
-Get Master Nan on camera; I wanna hear him talk.
-I wanna see Master Nan and Old Wang do a stream together.
-Host, host, can you get Master Nan on screen? We wanna hear him talk to us.
The host was losing control of the chat, but the audience was their bread and butter—he couldn't just ignore the flood of comments.
He looked over at Nan Shuyi and said, half-joking: "Mr. Nan, the viewers want to hear a few words from you."
Nan Shuyi shook his head, declining. Even though Wang Yujian had a thing for Jiang Yicen, today was Wang Yujian's event, and there was no reason for him to steal the spotlight.
The studio had a big screen, and he and Jiang Yicen had definitely been on camera for a second—anyone paying attention would've caught it.
He turned to a staff member and asked: "Can you cut that one second out of the replay later?"
The staffer replied: "Yes, Mr. Nan."
Nan Shuyi patted Jiang Yicen's hand: "Let's go back."
Jiang Yicen nodded: "Okay."
Nan Shuyi and Jiang Yicen left before it was over. Wang Yujian couldn't be bothered with the rest of the livestream, but he was still just an employee—those two were the real bosses—so he had to stick around and interact with his fans. If the products sold well, maybe he could find an excuse to ask Jiang Yicen out to dinner again?
·
After Nan Shuyi led Jiang Yicen out of the livestream room and away from the crowd, the jealousy hit him immediately.
Nan Shuyi snorted: "He's the one who asked you to come?"
Jiang Yicen, seeing no one around, linked his finger with Nan Shuyi's: "Not really. I just came to check out the livestream setup—I'd never seen one before. And since we already knew each other, it would've been rude not to say hi."
Nan Shuyi knew that Sixth Master Jiang was perfect in every way except for being too polite to everyone.
Jiang Yicen could tell he was even more jealous this time and added: "Isn't it better if I stay friendly with Wang Yujian so he'll work harder selling our stuff? We're really strapped for cash right now."
Nan Shuyi couldn't help getting a little pissed at that: "You know exactly what he's after with you."
Jiang Yicen realized he was always way too worried about him: "He and I are just talking normally."
Nan Shuyi: "Anyway, no more talking to him so much. And no smiling at him."
Jiang Yicen could only belong to him.
The two went back to Nan Shuyi's office, and Jiang Yicen closed the door and locked it.
He'd never met anyone this possessive before—he had nothing to compare it to. Nan Shuyi's jealousy didn't make him mad, but he knew the guy was extremely insecure.
Jiang Yicen watched him plop down on the couch in a huff, then sidled over: "Shuyi? Are you really mad?"
Nan Shuyi was mad, sure, but partly at himself for not working hard enough. He didn't want to see Jiang Yicen grovel or bow down to anyone. Of course, he hadn't actually done that with Wang Yujian—that was an exaggeration—but he just couldn't stand seeing even a hint of him begging anyone. If anyone was going to do that, it would be him.
Nan Shuyi: "He sent you flowers and gifts back when I was out of Lincheng, and you accepted them."
Jiang Yicen: "But it's not like he knew, right? And that bouquet he sent just got thrown out in the end. Besides, I rejected him, and he knows you and I are married."
Nan Shuyi: "I can tell he's not gonna let it go."
Jiang Yicen smiled: "I won't have many chances to interact with him in the future. Bro, no need to keep dwelling on this."
"I'm just petty. What about it?"
Nan Shuyi pulled him into his arms, insisting Jiang Yicen sit on his lap, wrapping both arms around his waist.
Jiang Yicen could only sit sideways on his thigh, looping his arms around his neck.
"Our petty President Nan."
Nan Shuyi: "Give me a kiss, President Jiang, and I'll stop being mad."
Jiang Yicen dutifully gave his lips a quick peck.
Nan Shuyi was clearly unsatisfied: "That's nowhere near enough."
Jiang Yicen: "We're in the office."
Nan Shuyi unbuttoned the top buttons of Jiang Yicen's shirt, gave his collarbone a bite, and let out a low chuckle: "I know you locked the door just now."
Jiang Yicen leaned his head back a little: "But..."
Nan Shuyi held his waist, gently lowering him onto the sofa, and leaned down to kiss him fiercely, full of possessiveness, claiming every inch of Jiang Yicen's mouth. The two already knew each other's bodies well, and Jiang Yicen naturally responded, tangling with him without even thinking.
The kiss wasn't just about possessiveness—it was pure, deep love.
When the kiss ended, Nan Shuyi's breathing grew heavier, and Jiang Yicen beneath him could clearly feel his hardness.
Jiang Yicen: "Brother, do you want me to help you?"
Ever since his identity was exposed to Nan Shuyi, the latter had developed an excessive protective instinct toward him, treating him like a fragile vase, afraid that one careless move might shatter him. Jiang Yicen didn't want that—they were husbands, not master and bodyguard.
Nan Shuyi's suppressed desire made his eyes redden. He grabbed Jiang Yicen's fair hand and pressed it against his abdomen.
His eyes full of affection, he lowered his head again and bit into Jiang Yicen's alluring dark lips.
"Cencen, I want you. I want you so badly."
His chaotic mind 😂
