Shen Zhiyue vaguely heard someone whispering softly in his ear. His head hurt terribly. He only remembered that he seemed to have collapsed right after getting off the stage from a concert.

He watched himself extend his hand and wrap it around the neck of the man in front of him. "You promised me, today we're going to do it for real. The man smiled, a vulgar expression on his rather ordinary face.

Shen Zhiyue mentally ridiculed him.

The man didn't expect Shen Zhiyue to deliberately push him and fell to the ground with a loud yell. "Ouch! That hurts! Shen Zhiyue, what the hell?!"

Shen Zhiyue was also desperate to understand what was going on. His head felt like it was splitting, and he almost lost his balance, grabbing the nearby table for support. Memories that didn't belong to him flashed through his mind.

The scene in front of him seemed to match a scene from his memory, and he suddenly realized—this was the scene from the script he had read the previous day!

When the production team approached him to act, they offered him the role of the male lead.

He had skimmed through the script and then read the original novel the script was adapted from. He had been deeply attracted to the villain in the novel.

Compared to the male lead's naive and saintly nature, the author had depicted the villain in a far more nuanced manner.

The villain had a miserable childhood. The evil stepmother not only abused the young villain, denied him food, made him live in a doghouse, and forced him to stand outside in the cold winter rain, but she even conspired with her lover to sell the young villain. But after the little villain grew up and became the emperor who dominated the entire empire, the two psychopathic and insane father-son duo joined forces. The male lead's intelligence was no match for them, and he was frequently outsmarted at every turn.

In the end, it was because the little villain fell in love with the gentle and kind-hearted female lead that he ultimately betrayed the main villain, entrusting their lives to the female lead, which led to the story's happy ending.

Shen Zhiyue clicked his tongue in amazement.

But that's not the issue here; the problem is that the evil stepmother had already kicked the bucket in the first half of the story!
