Chapter 109: Comfortable, Zhi Zhi?
by 梅川裤子Chapter 109: Comfortable, Zhi Zhi?
Shen Zhixue glanced outside the long-distance car, where people were constantly passing by.
If Jiang Huizhou really carried him out of the car, considering Jiang Huizhou's attire, he would probably make the federal headlines by tomorrow morning.
"Put me down," Shen Zhixue said. "I just need to rest a bit. You're not at the point of breaking up with Xisi yet."
Jiang Huizhou firmly slid his arm under Shen Zhixue's knees. "I said if you came to the Federation with me, I'd take care of all your troubles. I always keep my word."
Shen Zhixue frowned as Jiang Huizhou lifted him up easily and walked confidently into the restaurant next to them.
Jiang Huizhou was impersonating the young Duke Fiedler, but his behavior was completely different from the real Young Duke Fiedler's. He acted like he wasn't afraid of being recognized at all, with an arrogant attitude.
But then again, if Duke Fiedler hadn't personally come forward to say Jiang Huizhou wasn't the real young Duke, who would dare to be the first to suspect him?
With high spirits, Jiang Huizhou carried Shen Zhixue inside a private room and gently placed him on a chair adorned with red velvet. "Is this posture comfortable?"
Shen Zhixue smirked, pushed Jiang Huizhou lightly, and sat properly on the chair. "You're overestimating yourself. It doesn't hurt as much, really."
Jiang Huizhou smiled. "Okay, I'm relieved to see you're comfortable."
"Comfortable? Me? Only you are comfortable, okay? All you ever think about is nonsense..."
"Yeah, yeah, I'm comfortable," Jiang Huizhou pressed the service button, sat next to Shen Zhixue, and whispered, "So comfortable I could die, Zhi Zhi."
Shen Zhixue's ear tips turned red and he decided to stop talking to Jiang Huizhou. If he responded, Jiang Huizhou would only get more brazen!
So, he picked up the cup next to him and pretended to drink, his eyes lowered to the surface of the water, unable to say a word.
"Does Zhi Zhi like this cup?" Jiang Huizhou reached out, took the cup from Shen Zhixue's hand, and examined it. "If you like it, I can have someone custom-make one exactly like it."
"No, no need," Shen Zhixue chuckled dryly. "It's too extravagant."
"What's there to fear?" Jiang Huizhou sat lazily in his seat with the demeanor of a spoiled heir, raised his hand, and casually said, "It's not our money anyway."
Shen Zhixue choked up.
Duke Fiedler truly loved his wife so much that he was willing to cooperate with someone like Jiang Huizhou!
The waiter soon brought the dishes. This was one of the most expensive restaurants in the capital star of the Federation, where a single dish cost a fortune. Jiang Huizhou, however, ordered a large table full as if money wasn't an issue.
Looking at the nearly eight-meter-long table filled with food, Shen Zhixue finally pressed his lips together and said, "We can't finish all this, can we?"
Jiang Huizhou pinched Shen Zhixue's cheek. "My Zhi Zhi is so thin, so what's wrong with eating more?"
Shen Zhixue slapped his hand away. "Even if I were a pig, I couldn't eat this much in one sitting. We should pack it up and take it back; otherwise, it's too wasteful."
Jiang Huizhou propped his chin on his hand and watched Shen Zhixue peel shrimp. Shen Zhixue's fair, delicate hands were stained with bright red juice as he carefully removed the hard shell from the large shrimp, revealing the tender white flesh. He turned it around in his fingertips before tossing it into his bowl.
Jiang Huizhou raised his eyebrows slightly.
Shen Zhixue seemed unaware of anything unusual. After peeling the shrimp for Jiang Huizhou, he peeled one for himself, commenting, "The chef here is really good. The shrimp is firm and fresh, and the ingredients must be top-notch."
As he reached for a napkin to wipe the juice off his hands, his body trembled when Jiang Huizhou suddenly spoke. "Dirty."
"What kind of cleaning method is that?!" Shen Zhixue gritted his teeth. "Eat your food!"
Jiang Huizhou grunted, "Zhi Zhi, feed me."
"You're even more difficult to please than Jiang Xingliu," Shen Zhixue remarked, but still thoughtfully picked some dishes for Jiang Huizhou according to his own preferences.
It was kind of ridiculous that, despite being married in name for three years, Jiang Huizhou had rarely eaten at home, so as a result, Shen Zhixue was unsure of Jiang Huizhou's food preferences.
Jiang Huizhou looked at the pile of chilies in his bowl, paused for a moment, then picked up his chopsticks and silently and quietly ate all the food Shen Zhixue had placed in his bowl.
Shen Zhixue ate happily, serving and eating without missing a beat.
When the meal was finished, Shen Zhixue suddenly realized that Jiang Huizhou hadn't spoken in a while.
He turned his head to see Jiang Huizhou guzzling iced water frantically.
"You..." Shen Zhixue's eyes widened.
At that moment, Jiang Huizhou's entire face was red, all the way from his ears down to his neck, his forehead covered in fine sweat, tears welling up in his eyes from the spiciness, his nose red, and especially his lips.
Normally, Jiang Huizhou's lips were usually a light pink, even when he kissed fiercely, the color would only deepen slightly. But now, his lips were an inflamed, bright red, and slightly swollen.
In the past, only Shen Zhixue would end up looking this way, and he had never seen such a... nearly vulnerable side of Jiang Huizhou before.
Jiang Huizhou licked his lips, "Hmm?"
Shen Zhixue stifled his laughter, "Why did you secretly eat sausage behind my back?"
It took Jiang Huizhou a moment to realize that Shen Zhixue was mocking him for the swollen, red lips.
He smirked shamelessly, going along with Shen Zhixue's joke, "Of course it's delicious. But still, not as tasty as the big sausages Zhi Zhi usually eats."
Shen Zhixue rolled his eyes, "Sausages? Those were bean sprouts!"
Jiang Huizhou grinned menacingly, leaning in, his nose almost touching Shen Zhixue's, and narrowed his eyes, "Looks like Zhi Zhi's memory is failing. I don't mind helping you remember what it really was."
Shen Zhixue coughed twice and said seriously, "Alright, enough fooling around. Why didn't you say you can't handle spicy food?"
"Because Zhi Zhi picked the food for me," Jiang Huizhou said lightly, "If Zhi Zhi likes it, I like it."
"Your stomach won't be able to handle this," Shen Zhixue sighed, "You should go buy some stomach medicine, just in case."
Jiang Huizhou looked at Shen Zhixue, nodded, and continued picking up his chopsticks, preparing to finish the last half of his bowl.
"Don't eat that anymore, have something light instead..." Shen Zhixue tried to stop him.
"No," Jiang Huizhou placed the small bowl in front of him, "I'll finish it."
And then Shen Zhixue watched him alternate between bites of food and gulps of iced water, finishing everything Shen Zhixue had served him.
Not knowing what Jiang Huizhou was stubbornly insisting on, Shen Zhixue could only say, "You're going to be in so much pain tonight."
"Pain is fine," Jiang Huizhou said slowly, "If I'm in a lot of pain, Zhi Zhi will soften up and won't leave me to sleep alone in a separate room."
Shen Zhixue raised an eyebrow, "You're doing this just for that?"
Jiang Huizhou grabbed his wrist, "You're the one who picked the food for me. If my stomach hurts, Zhi Zhi has to take responsibility."
Shen Zhixue: "..."
Of course, he had an agenda!
"There's no need to hurt yourself this way." Shen Zhixue turned his head away. "You could've just told me."
Jiang Huizhou said pitifully, "But Zhi Zhi, you wouldn't let me in before."
"And I told you not to come in, and you didn’t?" Shen Zhixue snorted. "But when I tell you to slow down, you never listen."
"Says who?" Shen Zhixue choked on his words.
"I do what I'm told. If you want it light, I go light. If you want it harder, I go harder. Every time, you say it feels really good."
Shen Zhixue blushed.
Because if I didn’t say it felt good, Jiang Huizhou would just keep going!
Before Jiang Huizhou could say more, Shen Zhixue, blushing from embarrassment, stood up quickly and said, "I'll go get a waiter to pack the food."
Without another word, he rushed out of the private room.
Soon, a waiter dressed in a tailcoat walked in. "What can I help you with?"
Shen Zhixue pointed at the mostly untouched dishes on the table and said, "Could you pack the leftovers for me? Thanks."
The waiter glanced at the food and said, "Sorry, we don’t do takeout boxes here."
"Why not?" Shen Zhixue paused. "You’re such a big place, and you don’t have takeout boxes?!"
"The food here is made from the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, prepared by chefs personally certified by the royal family of our federation. It absolutely cannot be placed in a takeout box." The waiter smiled proudly, clearly arrogant. "Customers here never take food to go."
Shen Zhixue blinked. "I understand the reasoning, but the problem is, I can’t finish all this food by myself."
The waiter said, "Don’t worry about it. We take care of it. The food is always disposed of by a designated person."
"Oh." Shen Zhixue nodded. "If you don’t have takeout boxes, fine. I’ll just order some online, and they can be delivered here in twenty minutes..."
The waiter could no longer keep up the polite act and shouted, "Sir, in all the time I’ve worked here, I’ve never seen anyone ask to take food away!"
His voice was so loud that nearby dining customers turned their heads, their eyes filled with undisguised contempt and disdain for Shen Zhixue.
"The people who dine here are nobility. It’s just a meal, but taking it to go really looks tacky." The waiter smiled smugly. "Or perhaps this meal was too expensive for your budget?"
The surrounding customers began to whisper among themselves.
"Exactly, who goes to such a high-class restaurant and asks for takeout?"
"Maybe this person pooled money together just to enjoy a meal here, haha."
The waiter, seeing that everyone was on his side, felt a sense of smug satisfaction.
It was well-known that the food at this restaurant was both delicious and expensive. He had used many connections just to become an ordinary waiter here. Previously, when guests left food behind, if it was untouched, he would list it online for sale. The price for one dish was almost half his yearly salary!
He had rushed into Shen Zhixue's room because he saw that many dishes were left completely untouched, thinking he could make a big profit.
But now, Shen Zhixue actually wanted him to pack these dishes to take away?! These were his profits! How could he let Shen Zhixue take them away?!
