Shen Zhiyue furrowed his brow and calmly said, "Hello, this is Shen Zhiyue."
"Of course I know who you are. Did I interrupt Mrs. Jiang's refined interests?"
A lecherous laugh came from the other end of the line.
Shen Zhiyue glanced at the name of the contact and paused for a moment before saying, "Jiang Huizhou?"
The man next to him nudged Jiang Huizhou and said, "Hey, looks like your wife actually remembers your name. I thought you weren't even worthy of a name in her eyes, haha."
The man sat on a wheelchair to the side of the sofa, one hand propping up his head, his eyes slightly squinting, saying nothing.
His face was strikingly handsome, and under the colorful lights of the bar, he looked stunning. His bangs were slightly damp, clinging to his fair skin, exuding an aura reminiscent of a classical Chinese landscape painting.
The man's demeanor was dignified and austere, starkly contrasting the sultry and passionate surroundings. He wore a black turtleneck shirt, and his other hand, resting on the wheelchair, hung loosely, with his fingers hooked around a string of pricey-looking Buddhist prayer beads.
The bar was dimly lit, and men and women noticed Jiang Huizhou and sashayed over.
Only when they got closer could they see that Jiang Huizhou was sitting in a wheelchair, with a thick blanket covering his legs. Some would roll their eyes and mutter, "What's a disabled person doing in a bar, really..." before walking away.
Shen Zhiyue wasn’t sure why Jiang Huizhou had dialed him, but from the sounds on the other side, he could guess that Jiang Huizhou was at a nightclub.
He quickly stood up, tiptoeing to the wardrobe where he hesitated at the sight of the price tags.
If he ever needed to sell these clothes later, wearing them less would make them worth more.
He turned around and went to the closet in the bedroom, where he had seen plenty of clothes earlier.
He picked two pieces to wear and glanced back at Jiang Xingliu, who was fast asleep on the bed.
Jiang Xingliu had already fallen asleep, hugging the blanket, but his hands were outside, his brows deeply furrowed, looking very uncomfortable.
Shen Zhiyue knew that Jiang Xingliu's hands were frostbitten, and now that they were warming up, they must be aching and itching, which would be unbearable.
Sympathetically, Shen Zhiyue gently blew on Jiang Xingliu’s hands.
The voices from the communicator continued, and a group of people said something unpleasant, which Shen Zhiyue no longer wanted to hear. As he walked toward the entrance to put on his shoes, he asked the communicator, "Have you been drinking?"
The laughter on the other side abruptly stopped, seemingly caught off guard by Shen Zhiyue's concerned tone.
After a moment, a light male voice came through the communicator, "Yes."
