Chapter 78: A Good Teammate at Swindling

Under Jia Zhao's operation of swindling his own school, Kelo Academy reluctantly bought the Revive Potion at double the market price, weeping as they did so.

When they walked out of the office, the vice principal and principal were sobbing in each other's arms, and their helpless sobs could still be heard from far away.

Jia Zhao was in high spirits. "See? As soon as I step in, the price doubles."

Meng Shu was speechless, just shaking his head with a helpless smile.

"Alright, cheer up. Let's go pick three treasures from the vault."

Jia Zhao rubbed his hands together excitedly. "We hit the jackpot! I'm rich! Hey, giving me one of the treasures isn't too much, is it?"

"You were after the treasures all along!"

Jia Zhao didn't hide it and admitted openly, "That's right. There's one treasure I really want, but I never had the chance."

    "What do you want?"

"The Celestial Book," Jia Zhao said with a smile. "A treasure that records whatever the user wants and lets them revisit memories anytime."

Meng Shu was puzzled. "I can give you one, since you asked for it yourself."

The two entered the vault, where thousands of treasures were stored in a dimensional space. Jia Zhao quickly found the Celestial Book through the search system and pocketed it with satisfaction. "Have you picked yours?"

Meng Shu didn't recognize any of these treasures at all. He looked for a long time, not knowing what they were used for, so he casually picked two beautiful gems, planning to take them home as gifts for Ling Qingjue.

"Done." Meng Shu nodded. "Let's head back."

"Why did you pick two stones?"

"They look cute. Don't you think this gem looks like a crouching kitten?"

"You're giving them to Ling Qingjue again?"

"Who else would I give them to?" Meng Shu asked matter-of-factly. "I'm pursuing him."

The two emerged from the vault to find the principal and vice principal already waiting for them.

"Have you chosen?" the principal asked with a smile. "What did you pick?"

Jia Zhao presented the Celestial Book and the two gems. "These three."

The principal glanced at them, her nails digging into her palms. They had taken her treasured Mermaid's Tears and Cat's Heart Diamond!

    Unbelievable!

The vice principal quickly patted her on the back, squinting. "Take it easy."

The principal calmed down a little. Right, no need to rush. Once these two handed over the potion, she would naturally have ways to deal with them.

"Heh, good taste. They're yours then." Her smile contorted, every word squeezed through gritted teeth.

Meng Shu felt an inexplicable chill down his back, as if he'd taken something really special.

The vice principal smiled warmly, like an elder. "Thank you both for cooperating with us. The three billion has been converted into gold coins and stored in this storage pouch."

He handed over a small storage pouch. Jia Zhao checked the piled-up gold coins inside; the system showed a total of one million gold coins in the pouch.

He put the pouch away and smiled. "Good doing business with you."

The vice principal's smile remained unchanged. "Since you've got your gold and treasures, would you hand over the potion?"

    Jia Zhao smirked. "Of course."

He clapped Meng Shu on the shoulder. "Good buddy, give it to them."

But Meng Shu felt something was off. The principal could barely hide her murderous look. Once the potion was handed over, they probably wouldn't make it out of the academy alive.

    He hesitated. "I…"

Jia Zhao lowered his voice. "Don't worry, just give it to them."

"Are you sure?" Meng Shu's eye twitched, almost whispering. "If we hand it over and they go back on their word?"

"Relax, our school is very trustworthy," he said, his fox-like eyes curving. "Right, Principal? Kelo Academy means what it says. How could we go back on our word?"

The principal, eavesdropping the whole time, changed expression and forced a smile. "Heh, o-of course!"

Once she got the potion, she'd immediately chop down these reckless swindlers!

Meng Shu pulled himself together. He'd sold three hundred and forty bottles, but he still had five left, enough to escape.

He brought out the potions. "Please give me a storage pouch."

The vice principal handed him a storage pouch, staring fixedly at his hand, his stare becoming more brazen. "Heh, so many potions must be a hassle for you to carry!"

Jia Zhao remained unfazed. "It's our honor to trade with the academy."

Meng Shu took out three hundred and forty bottles and placed them all into the storage pouch, his heart pounding uncontrollably. "Three hundred and forty bottles. Want to check?"

The vice principal took it, counted, and nodded.

He put the storage pouch away slowly. "No problem. You two can go now."

As the academy's leaders, they weren't about to start a fight on school grounds. They would deliberately let these two leave, and if they died outside, blame it on magical beasts—how would that be the school's fault?

Jia Zhao saw right through them. "Then we'll take our leave."

With that, he swaggered into the teleportation array with Meng Shu.

The principal's face darkened. "I'll stake out the magic array and get the gold and treasures back!"

The vice principal nodded. "I'll buff you up."

As they were discussing, a magic array suddenly appeared before them, and a tall, slender figure stepped out of it.

The young man crossed his arms, his brows cold and sharp, blocking their path. "How about taking me on first?"

    Inside the transit station.

Jia Zhao's face changed in an instant, all his calm gone. He shook Meng Shu's shoulders frantically. "Quick! The blue buff potion! Use the dash spell and get us out of here!"

Meng Shu wanted to kill him. "I knew you were putting on an act!"

"Quit cussing and let's go! We'll be hunted as soon as we step out of that array!"

No wonder people say it's better to have a god-like enemy than a pig of a teammate.

The two quickly downed the potion, and the second they left the magic array, they activated their dash spell and bolted.
