    ### Chapter 13 An Unremarkable Special Admit

Pu Yu's body under his school uniform was completely different from his usual quiet and studious image.

He was stunned by the sight.

Pu Yu turned to look at him, then at the old man's shirt in his hand, and said, "Forget it."

Ning Song said, "Won't you be cold like this?"

    "It's okay," Pu Yu whispered.

Ning Song finally handed him a towel of his own. "Here, my mom washed it and put it away for me. You can use it later."

This time, Pu Yu didn't refuse. He took it and said, "Thank you."

He felt that Pu Yu must be uncomfortable now, probably regretting coming up with him, getting soaked and smelling bad, and having to stay in such a cramped room. He also regretted not insisting on letting Pu Yu go back to the car earlier.

He wondered if, as a side character or supporting actor, staying in the same room with the protagonist and even taking off clothes was too much.

Fortunately, he was so skinny that he couldn't possibly be interesting.

Pu Yu had to wait for his clothes to dry before showering, so Ning Song went first. After finishing, he came out wearing a shirt and long pants, fully covered.

Pu Yu sat on a small stool, playing a game, wrapped in a towel.

The stool was a bit too low for him, making it hard for him to stretch his legs. However, Ning Song didn't know whether he chose not to sit on the sofa because he was afraid of wetting it or because he thought it was unclean.

Their sofa was quite old, and Ning's mother had made a cushion for it, which had turned yellow over time.

He felt like a servant pitying her well-fed master... thinking that this might be the hardest moment in Pu Yu's life.

It reminded him of the little boy he saw sitting in a Rolls Royce when he was young.

Actually, Pu Yu was quite kind-hearted; the "keep your distance" demeanor was just an act. He was just a bit reserved.

It would take about forty minutes for the clothes to dry. Ning Song went to pour Pu Yu a cup of hot water, then returned to his room to pack the things he needed to take with him.

After packing, he heard the dryer beep a few times and hurried out of his bedroom. He saw Pu Yu had already taken out his clothes.

The ceiling light shone down, and Ning Song couldn't help but glance at Pu Yu's dreamy legs, only to see him turn sideways.

This turn revealed not just a prominent shape but a downward arc.

Heavy and out of place with his delicate face and slender figure.

... Let's just wish Pu Yu's future boyfriend all the best.

They lived on the second floor, and outside their balcony stood a sturdy tree, its pale gray trunk motionless in the rain.

Ning Song had never noticed how thick this tree was, standing silently in the dilapidated slum like a silent giant.

Pu Yu entered the bathroom with his clothes, and Ning Song told him how to use it.

"Turn left for hot water," he said, then realized how cramped their bathroom was.

Their house was small, and the bathroom was even smaller. A tall guy like Pu Yu would need to duck his head inside.

"This is the shower gel, and this is the shampoo," Ning Song quickly explained, feeling a bit apologetic towards the young master. His voice was gentle. The bathroom was tiny, and as he leaned close, his warm breath brushed against Pu Yu's arm. Pu Yu smelled the jasmine scent on him.

It must have been the shampoo. Both the shower gel and shampoo bottles had jasmine patterns.

Pu Yu felt oddly cared for.

Clearly, Ning Song looked thin and fragile, the one who needed care the most.

For the first time, he felt that Ning Song was actually his age.

Ning Song wasn't that small; he was just too thin.

Tall and slender, with thick hair and a sharp chin, making his eyes appear larger.

The bathroom was filled with a damp fragrance, and perhaps due to the cramped space, Pu Yu felt a bit short of breath. He said, "I got it."

Ning Song closed the door for him and came out. "Oh, the door is a bit loose. Pull it slowly."

He returned to the living room and heard faint water sounds from inside.

Pu Yu probably only rinsed off briefly, coming out after four or five minutes, fully dressed.

After Pu Yu finished drying his hair, they left together.

The water Ning Song poured for Pu Yu remained untouched, the heat long gone.

Outside, Ning Song still felt guilty, apologizing as they walked. "I'm really sorry for causing you so much trouble."

Pu Yu didn't say anything, but his scent had changed to the familiar jasmine smell.

This time, both were cautious, taking each step carefully. When they reached the streetlight, Ning Song saw their careful shadows and suddenly laughed.

Pu Yu turned to look at him.

Ning Song suppressed his smile, but his eyes still held amusement. Pu Yu pursed his lips, no longer as cautious.

As if he knew why Ning Song had laughed, he seemed sensitive.

    The young master had pride.

Ning Song regretted laughing, but he was also worried Pu Yu might slip, so he grabbed his arm.

As a result, he clearly felt the resistance from the young master.

He quickly released his hand and lowered his head to sneeze.

Pu Yu looked down at him, only seeing a thin, pale nape of his neck, with damp hair ends slightly curled.

He looked very much like a figurine doll.

His neck was really quite slender.

Pu Yu no longer looked at him but gazed into the dark rain curtain.

Due to the rain, everyone arrived at school earlier than usual this week. At this time, there were almost no cars left at the school gate.

Zheng Xiaobo came in Qiao Qiao's family car to deliver a phone to Li You.

Xiaobo wasn't a student at Upper East School; usually, he would jump over the wall to get into their school. Today, with heavy rain, Li You didn't return to the dormitory and waited directly at the school gate.

After standing at the gate for just ten minutes, several juniors gathered around him.

Several people were smoking at the gate when they saw Qiao Qiao and Zheng Xiaobo get out of the car together.

Li You smiled and asked, "Where's that bean sprout who's always glued to you?"

When Qiao Qiao heard him call Ning Song that, he rolled his eyes, "Who are you talking about? I don't know any bean sprout."

Zheng Xiaobo didn't know who they were referring to and looked at Qiao Qiao, "Which bean sprout?"

"There's a new special admission student," someone explained, "Qiao Qiao is in the same class as him, and they're inseparable. Brother Yu also looks out for him."

"Really?" Qiao Qiao snorted, "It's enough if he doesn't bully him."

"Indeed, otherwise, how could he have had it so easy last week? Zhang Guangwei and the others went to the public baths to corner him. If it weren't for Brother You, he would have been done for on the first day."

"So, did you go to the welcome night for Aning?" Qiao Qiao asked Li You in surprise.

He, like others, found it strange that Li You suddenly attended the welcome meeting. But saying he did it for Ning Song didn't make sense.

Li You held the cigarette between his lips, "You sure have an imagination."

"Tch." Qiao Qiao pouted, "I knew it!"

Li You laughed, then glanced at a black Rolls-Royce pulling up.

The license plate A6666 shone brightly, piercing through the rainy night. The heavy rain seemed like fireworks surrounding the car.

This kind of grandeur was only fitting for Pu Yu, the top student of the Upper East School.

The car stopped at the gate, and the driver ran to open the door. A long leg emerged, followed by a large black umbrella opening up. Pu Yu, with a backpack slung over one shoulder, got out, drawing the attention of several students at the gate.

Li You bit on the cigarette, then saw the driver step aside. Pu Yu stood at the car door under the umbrella, seemingly waiting for something.

Then another person came out of the car.

This figure was too distinctive; there was no one thinner or weaker in the entire high school section of Upper East School.

It was Ning Song, carrying a backpack in one hand and a seemingly high-end paper bag in the other. After Pu Yu told him something, he put his umbrella in the paper bag and then retrieved a plastic bag full of clothes from the car before stepping out and standing next to Pu Yu under his umbrella.

Pu Yu reached out to help him carry something, but Ning Song quickly said, "Just hold the umbrella well; I can manage."

He hugged all the clothes and supplements, thanked the driver, and walked towards the school gate with Pu Yu. After taking two steps, he heard Qiao Qiao calling him, "Aning!"

He turned to look and saw Li You and the others standing under a tree outside the school gate, looking at them.

He spotted Qiao Qiao last, who was hardly noticeable among the tall boys.

    He waved at Qiao Qiao.

Seeing that Ning Song came from Pu Yu's car, Qiao Qiao didn't dare approach until they got closer, then asked, "Have you eaten dinner?"

    "I ate before coming."

Ning Song didn't ignore Li You and called out softly, "Brother You."

Dealing with troublemakers like him was easier than dealing with Young Master Pu; he knew to be sweet, as people respond better to kindness than toughness.

    **Author's Note**

Easter Egg: Pu Yu, with his good student face, looked out the classroom window. Ning Song was doing homework, while Li You, with his wheat-colored skin, leaned against the window, placing a box of milk on Ning Song's desk.
