    Chapter 56: The Dating Show’s Least-Liked Heiress (5)

LOL, Su Chengwen’s face is so red! Did you see that look Tang Qing gave him? Anyone would fall for her!

Am I the only one who finds this weird? Asking such a question out of nowhere… What’s Tang Qing up to?

Heiress going straight for the man, hahaha.

For the rest of their time together, Tang Qing didn’t bother Su Chengwen anymore. Wrapped in her cozy blanket, she stayed quietly to the side.

Now that Tang Qing had settled down, Su Chengwen was the one who felt uneasy. From the corner of his eye, he glanced at her—her slightly curled hair resting on her shoulders, her head tilted as she stared unblinkingly at the screen.

Su Chengwen noticed how beautiful Tang Qing’s eyes were. Her pupils were remarkably clear, like those of an innocent girl, bright and untroubled, as if nothing in the world weighed on her mind.

The two coexisted peacefully until the movie ended, when the heiress stirred up trouble again.

There was still some distance from the open-air cinema to the parking lot, and Tang Qing refused to walk...

She whined, "I can’t walk anymore. Bring the car here to pick me up."

Su Chengwen sighed helplessly, "Missy, it’s only 800 meters from the parking lot. A few steps and we’ll be there."

Tang Qing still wouldn’t budge, pointing at her high heels. "They’re brand new. My feet hurt."

The woman in the green dress now pouted openly, throwing a tantrum at Su Chengwen. "Su Chengwen, my feet are already rubbed raw. I can’t walk."

Following her finger, Su Chengwen did see some redness and swelling on her heels. His expression grew even more resigned. "But this is a one-way street. I can’t drive the car here."

    "Then carry me."

"What?" Su Chengwen nearly thought he misheard, staring at her in disbelief. "Carry you? Isn’t that a bit..."

    Too intimate?

Tang Qing didn’t care about Su Chengwen’s hesitation at all. Crossing her arms, she looked like a child denied candy—both spoiled and a little adorable. "Either carry me or hold me. Pick one. I’m not moving."

"You said it yourself—800 meters, just a few minutes. Can’t you manage that?"

"Besides, I dressed up this nicely and wore these shoes just for our date. You owe me."

Su Chengwen felt unfairly blamed. The invitation had clearly come from Tang Qing, who even forced him to accept it. Now she was making it sound like it was his duty to take care of her.

They stood there in a stalemate for a full minute, the heiress not budging an inch, just staring defiantly at Su Chengwen.

The summer night breeze carried a slight chill, brushing against Tang Qing’s slender arms. She shivered and sneezed but still refused to move.

"Not even a single step?" Su Chengwen tried negotiating again.

"Nope. Su Chengwen, are you going to carry me or not?" The breeze must have gotten to her—her voice carried a hint of a sniffle, less spoiled now and a little pitiful.

Finally, Su Chengwen sighed and crouched before her. "Alright, Missy. Come on."

With her demand met, Tang Qing immediately clung to Su Chengwen’s back.

Tilting her head smugly, she broke into a grin, looking every bit like a little fox who’d gotten her way. "You volunteered. I didn’t force you."

    How was this voluntary?

Su Chengwen, carrying Tang Qing, could only wryly laugh to himself. Today, he’d truly met his match—there was just no beating her!

Tang Qing was much lighter than expected, her arms wrapped around Su Chengwen’s neck. It was then that he noticed just how pale her skin was—pale enough to be dazzling.

*I bless the day I found you

    I wanna stay around you

    Now and forever

    Let it be me…*

Suddenly, Su Chengwen heard Tang Qing humming the song right by his ear. Amid her soft, shallow breaths, he caught the lyrics clearly—it was the theme song from tonight’s movie.

Tang Qing sang beautifully, her voice lacking its usual arrogance. Whispered close to his ear, it sounded like the murmurs of an intimate lover, low and sultry.

The production team seized the moment, extending the shot of the two while overlaying the scene with the movie’s end-credits BGM. The atmosphere instantly turned intimate, their silhouettes unexpectedly harmonious:

*Hahaha, this is hilarious. The diva’s a total handful.*

*No one rooting for them? Su Chengwen keeps saying he likes An Shenshen, but he’s completely helpless around the diva, lmao.*

*Wow, total movie romance vibes! Tang Qing can sing too!*

*Somehow, the diva’s fiery temper seems kinda cute today. What’s going on?*

    ...

They returned to the cottage last, drawing everyone’s attention. As soon as Wen Yixuan saw Tang Qing, she stood up first to exclaim, “Wow, Tang Qing, you look stunning tonight!”

“That dress is so pretty—it really suits you.”

Wen Yixuan truly meant it. At first glance, Tang Qing looked like a movie star—she was glowing.

Sun Ziang chimed in, “Lucky night, ‘genius’?” His eyes shamelessly swept over Tang Qing, greed flashing in his gaze before he added, “Tang Qing, you’re drop-dead gorgeous tonight.”

Knowing exactly what kind of guy he was, Tang Qing ignored him completely. With a feline sway, she glided gracefully toward the sofa, locking eyes with An Shenshen’s scrutinizing stare.

“Tang Qing, you look beautiful tonight,” An Shenshen said, maintaining her Miss Innocence act. But Tang Qing could see through it—her smile was forced.

“Oh? Thanks for the compliment,” Tang Qing replied, fake smile firmly in place, before casually taking a seat, bending her legs as strands of hair fell down. Paired with the vintage green dress, she looked like a Renaissance painting.

“Hmph, some people have no shame. They know full well who someone else likes yet still butt in.” Unlike An Shenshen, whose hostility was subtle, Shi Jia was a powder keg ready to blow, aiming her words straight at Tang Qing.

“Wishy-washy—crushing on one person today and switching tomorrow. Like this is some dating sim game!”

Shi Jia’s sharp tone made it clear to everyone that she was targeting Tang Qing.

Su Chengwen wanted to step in and defend Tang Qing, but when he met An Shenshen’s gaze, he hesitated. Before he could speak, Tang Qing cut in, “Are you a rooster or what?”

“You cluck every time you see me.”

“Sun Ziang, did you hear that? Shi Jia’s talking about *you!* You went on a date with her today, yet you couldn’t stop staring at me with those clingy eyes. She says you’re two-faced, flirty, and no good.”

Drawing out her words, Tang Qing dropped the mic, not even glancing at Shi Jia’s apoplectic glare. She redirected the topic straight to Sun Ziang. “Better go comfort your drama hen before she flies into a clucking fit tonight.”

Shi Jia: “You—! How dare you!”
