Chapter 304 The Background Fiancée in Campus Novel (7)
by 毛毛崽崽Chapter 304: The Background Fiancée in the Campus Story (7)
After leaving Song Yijin's school infirmary, the system was still in shock.
Song Yijin had actually agreed to Tang Qing’s secrecy request just like that!
And then there was the sudden increase in affection points...
"How did those affection points come about?" The system had been lowkey watching their exchange the whole time.
When Tang Qing mentioned that she was also a girl, the system got a kick out of Song Yijin’s shocked face...
But where did those 2 affection points even come from? Tang Qing had merely shaken his hand!
"He’s a germaphobe," Tang Qing thought for a moment, then explained the origin of the 2 affection points. "Guess he appreciated how thorough I was with the sanitizer."
Perhaps because she wiped them so thoroughly, the doctor was quite satisfied.
"Huh? How did you know?"
Tang Qing: "Seriously? You missed that?"
"When changing Xin Ke’s clothes, Dr. Song’s disgust… he looked like he’d just stepped in something gross."
The system short-circuited. "Was it?"
"I didn’t notice."
Mid existential crisis, the system heard Tang Qing’s light, mocking remark: "Maybe because you’re clueless..."
System: *error noises*.
"Still, this time you saved Xin Ke and threw the original plot into chaos. Now Song Yijin’s laser-focused on you..."
Originally, this near-drowning incident was supposed to be the first meeting between Song Yijin and the female lead, Xin Ke. The usually icy Dr. Song would discover Xin Ke’s cross-dressing secret and, moved by her pleas, reluctantly cave and help her cover it up...
But now, the person Song Yijin was far more curious about was clearly Tang Qing.
...
The dorm reeked of ginger the second Cen Yinghuai walked in.
As soon as he entered, he saw Tang Qing, now dressed in cozy plaid PJs that softened her vibe, setting up a takeout delivery.
"This is for you," Tang Qing said softly, smiling as she handed the ginger soup to Xin Ke.
"Thank god delivery’s still open. Drink it to ward off the chill."
Her soft voice and smile made Xin Ke’s heart feel warm all over!
This absolute angel!
Not only had she saved her, but she’d even prepared ginger soup!
Who even *is* this sweetheart?
Clutching the soup like a lifeline, Xin Ke was filled with gratitude, her big, doe eyes brimming with sincerity.
"Thank you, Tang Qing."
"Thank goodness you were there today..." Xin Ke said, still shaken up.
She had truly thought she was done for!
At the last second before passing out, thankfully Tang Qing had arrived...
Since starting school, this was the third time her guardian angel had helped her.
Thinking of this, Xin Ke snuck another look in Tang Qing's direction.
The way her little angel smiled was truly captivating... like a natural-born spotlight, making it impossible not to want to get closer.
"Hey, what are you sneaking peeks at?" Sensing Xin Ke's gaze, Cen Yinghuai shuddered and spoke up, "You're both guys, Xin Ke. Your look is kinda creepy."
Too lovey-dovey!
Startled by Cen Yinghuai's sudden interruption, Xin Ke hurriedly averted her eyes!
Her face flushed slightly as she shot back awkwardly, "What nonsense are you spouting!"
"I wasn't..."
Cen Yinghuai: "Then why are you blushing..."
Now it's even weirder!
"If you were looking, why get so nervous?"
Cen Yinghuai was totally clueless about Xin Ke's increasingly flustered expression and continued, "Good thing you're a guy, or I'd think you had a crush on Tang Qing."
Xin Ke: ...
*Shit!*
*Busted!*
Suddenly falling silent, Xin Ke clutched her ginger tea and edged closer to Tang Qing like a scared rabbit.
Cen Yinghuai narrowed his eyes, watching Xin Ke's actions, and muttered, "The hell... this just keeps getting weirder..."
Just as he was about to say more, Tang Qing suddenly handed him a cup of ginger tea.
"For me?"
"I didn't go in the water."
He'd heard about the incident—Cao Zhong really was a real piece of work... who knew where all that hate toward Xin Ke came from.
Facing Cen Yinghuai, Tang Qing flashed her signature smile again. "A thank-you gift."
"I heard... you were the one who kicked Cao Zhong in?"
That happened afterward.
After rescuing Xin Ke, Tang Qing had stopped paying attention to the poolside.
Never expected that in the end, it was Cen Yinghuai who helped get payback!
With a casual kick, Young Master Cen effortlessly sent Cao Zhong flying into the water too!
"Cen Yinghuai, you're quite a stand-up guy."
Faced with Tang Qing's praise, the young master awkwardly rubbed his nose. "He was asking for it, running his mouth like that."
It wasn’t his place to butt in... but when he heard Cao Zhong badmouthing Tang Qing for having too much free time, he inexplicably found the guy irritating.
Cen Yinghuai was tall and imposing, and with the Cen family’s high status, Cao Zhong didn’t dare kick up a fuss even if he got the short end of the stick.
Tang Qing had been offering that cup of ginger tea for a while, but Cen Yinghuai still didn’t want to take it. "I never drink this stuff..."
A real man doesn’t need this kinda stuff!
Just then.
Shen Shu, who was nearby, suddenly spoke up. "He really doesn’t need it."
"Built like a tank since he was a kid..."
The brainiac said flatly, throwing in, "You should’ve gotten him something for his brain cells instead."
"Shen Shu!"
Out of the blue, Shen Shu had to run his damn mouth again!
Damn it, rooming with Shen Shu was nothing but trouble!
Thankfully, Tang Qing stopped him in time—otherwise, that cup of ginger tea in Cen Yinghuai’s hand would’ve ended up splashed across Shen Shu’s face...
Later that night.
Perhaps because he drank Tang Qing’s ginger tea, Cen Yinghuai stumbled to the bathroom, grumbling, in the middle of the night.
The dorms at St. John’s were a dump. The one upside? Each room had its own bathroom.
Completely oblivious to the fact that the bathroom light was on, Cen Yinghuai wrenched the door open without a second thought!
"Wait, you here too?"
The moment the door opened, he saw Tang Qing sitting on the toilet.
They stared at each other for a few seconds before Tang Qing spoke first. "Pretty sure I locked the door."
Cen Yinghuai: "No wonder it put up a fight..."
Tang Qing glanced at the lock, which was now slightly busted from Cen Yinghuai’s gorilla strength.
Shen Shu wasn’t wrong—Cen Yinghuai really was as strong as an ox... with endless brute strength.
"You pee sitting down?" The young master’s focus shifted to Tang Qing’s current posture. "Dropping a deuce?"
Tang Qing: ...
In the awkward silence, Cen Yinghuai had already started undoing his belt, trying to negotiate. "If you’re not dropping a deuce, mind getting up... so I can go?"
"I’m kinda desperate here."
Holy crap.
Out of all the worlds she’d been through, this took the cake for awkwardness!
Just as Cen Yinghuai was about to whip that thing out right in front of her... Tang Qing finally stopped him, "Get out first."
Cen Yinghuai: "Why the fuss? Just get up..."
"Same parts here, nothing to hide."
The atmosphere fell into silence once again.
Looming in the doorway, Cen Yinghuai stared for a while. Seeing that Tang Qing still had no intention of standing up, he reluctantly closed the rattly bathroom door...
From behind the door, Cen Yinghuai kept muttering, "It can't be that small..."
"Feeling inadequate?"
Hearing this, Tang Qing, who was still pulling up her pants, paused for a moment, expressionless.
