Chapter 62: The Hated Miss of the Dating Show (11)
by 毛毛崽崽Chapter 62: The Dating Show’s Least-Liked Heiress (11)
The next day, the dating villa announced a new romantic challenge.
The event was called “Splash Wars,” where contestants would be randomly paired into male-female teams to complete two tasks. The first task, water basketball, required male contestants to shoot into moving hoops floating in the pool, with points awarded based on successful baskets.
The second task was a survival challenge. All female contestants stood on floating mats and engaged in a pushing match, with the last woman standing declared the winner.
The winning pair would receive a luxury suite at a hot spring hotel and enjoy an exclusive romantic candlelit dinner.
“Pushing… won’t that be dangerous?” An Shenshen frowned slightly after reading the rules. “And if we fall from the mats, won’t it hurt?”
The delicate, innocent-looking girl bit her lip, her eyes full of worry and fear.
Shi Jia quickly comforted her close friend, “Shenshen, don’t worry, I’ll protect you.”
“Really? Thank you, Jiajia.” With her usual sweet smile and gratitude, the two appeared perfectly harmonious.
Watching this fake sisterly bond unfold, the system tsked in disbelief. “An Shenshen is totally faking this to manipulate Shi Jia’s sympathy—playing up that innocent act again.”
Tang Qing didn’t respond. She had seen people like An Shenshen before—those who looked harmless but could hit harder than anyone else.
Especially since An Shenshen kept glancing at her intentionally. Chances were she was plotting something.
Following the show’s random pairing rules, the teams were quickly revealed:
An Shenshen * Sun Ziang
Tang Qing * Mi Yang
Su Chengwen * Shi Jia
Xiang Xiuran * Wen Yixuan
Out of the four pairs, Tang Qing and Mi Yang showed the most obvious disgust. Viewers caught on right away—their expressions darkened as soon as the results came out:
“Hahaha! The producers are really stirring the pot! They actually paired these two together!”
“The heiress and the hotheaded prince—I bet they’ll end up fighting!”
“Look, Mi Yang stormed off to complain to the crew already—he’s definitely trying to switch partners!”
They weren’t wrong. As soon as he found out his partner was Tang Qing, Mi Yang immediately demanded to speak to the production team.
“I’m not happy with this pairing. I want to switch partners,” he said firmly.
The staff, clearly prepared for his reaction, calmly replied, “We’re sorry, Mr. Mi, but the pairings were computer-generated at random. We can’t change the rules.”
Mi Yang wasn’t having it. “What computer? What algorithm? Run it again now!”
It had to be intentional! So far, Mi Yang wanted nothing to do with Tang Qing. First, she’d been shamelessly chasing him, and lately, she’d been acting completely crazy every single day.
Watching her from afar was one thing—but being paired with her? Mi Yang could already picture how unbearable her sharp tongue would make things.
He wasn’t about to deal with that nonsense.
Unfortunately, the show refused to budge. Seething with frustration, Mi Yang reluctantly approached Tang Qing.
Before he could even open his mouth, she cut him off sharply. “What’s with that face? You think I want to be stuck with you either?” “Save your thoughts—we’re winning this,” Tang Qing crossed her arms defiantly. “I’m getting that spa getaway.”
Mi Yang scoffed, his tone equally sharp. "Everyone wants to go to the hot spring hotel. The problem is, some people just don’t have what it takes—they might get pushed right off the mat."
"No way," Tang Qing shot back, turning her head and locking eyes with Mi Yang. "I will win."
"If we miss out on the hot spring hotel because of you, just wait—I’ll make you pay for it later!" Pouting and throwing down a fierce threat, she looked like a feisty little kitten, all claws out, growling at Mi Yang in that adorably fierce way.
Looking at Tang Qing, Mi Yang suddenly froze for a moment before snapping back to reality. "Tch, just don’t hold me back."
After team assignments, each guest had to change into swimwear—a major draw for the show, since who doesn’t love seeing handsome guys and beautiful girls?
Tang Qing picked a black one-piece swimsuit. From the front, it was simple and unassuming, but the real highlight was the open-back design. Paired with her porcelain skin, it created a striking effect.
Her hair was tied up in a bun, mostly to prevent An Shenshen from pulling it during the second round.
The system still had doubts and hesitantly asked, "Tang Qing, after the way you talked to Mi Yang earlier, do you really think he’ll take this seriously?"
"From the looks of it, Mi Yang didn’t seem thrilled about being your teammate either."
Fixing her hair in the mirror, Tang Qing smirked. "Oh, he will. You wouldn’t get it—reverse psychology works like a charm."
"It looks like I’ll be soaking in the hot springs with the male lead tonight," she said, admiring her outfit and recalling Mi Yang’s brief daze. She flashed a dazzling smile.
As soon as Tang Qing appeared on screen, the chat blew up, comments tripling instantly:
"She’s here! We knew the young miss wouldn’t disappoint. How is she so pale and flawless?"
"Gotta wipe my nosebleed—the young miss is too gorgeous!"
Not only were the viewers stunned, but the four male guests on set were also clearly stunned. Tang Qing had amazing proportions, radiant skin, and striking features—she was a total knockout.
"Hmph, what’s the point of being pretty if you’ve got such a terrible temper? Who’d ever want her?" Shi Jia sniped bitterly, though her eyes kept sneaking glances at Tang Qing’s long legs.
Talk about unfair—she was just too perfect. Let’s be real, Tang Qing was hands-down the most beautiful among the four female guests.
"Shenshen, don’t mind her. You’ve got such a sweet personality—if I were a guy, I’d definitely pick you." Shi Jia’s words practically admitted that Tang Qing was prettier than An Shenshen.
An Shenshen’s expression darkened immediately. Out of camera view, she dug her nails into her palm and pasted on a smile. "Jiajia, you’re always so good to me."
"Tang Qing’s so much taller than me. I can barely lift a bottle of water normally. For the second round, I’ll need your help, Jiajia." Her helpless whine worked perfectly, earning instant support from Shi Jia. "Of course! I don’t want *her* to win anyway!"
The whistle blew, and the first round began!
The four female contestants stood together, eagerly watching their partners’ performances.
The most driven among them were Sun Ziang and Mi Yang. Sun Ziang had already done the math—while An Shenshen couldn’t compare to Tang Qing in any way, she was still a sweet, innocent beauty. Spending a night alone with her wasn’t bad. And if something happened… even better.
With that thought, his eyes lit up with determination.
Mi Yang, on the other hand, simply didn’t want to be mocked by Tang Qing. He could practically hear her taunts already if he messed up.
Their vibes couldn’t have been more different.
Wen Yixuan was the first to speak up. "Tang Qing, Mi Yang seems pretty serious. Does he actually want to stay at the hotel with you?" She glanced over, knowing they didn’t get along, and puzzled by his sudden fire.
"He doesn’t," the young miss replied coolly, sunglasses hiding half her face—but not the smirk in her voice. "I’m the one who wants to soak in the hot springs tonight."
"If he loses, I’ll never let him live it down."
"Probably doesn’t want me calling him weak," she added with her trademark sass. Wen Yixuan burst into giggles, immediately getting it. Now she got why Mi Yang was so fired up.
"So that's how it is."
These two were too amusing—Wen Yixuan had figured it out during the last incident with the noodles. They were like oil and water, neither willing to back down or lose face in front of the other.
"Ours is just a business arrangement, not like them." Tang Qing pointed toward An Shenshen, who was cheering enthusiastically for Sun Ziang. Her tone carried an undertone as she spoke slowly, "Look at them—they’re so happy together. A perfect match, talent and beauty, made for each other."
Wen Yixuan looked over just in time to see Sun Ziang’s wide, toothy grin. A muscular hunk paired with a delicate wallflower—it actually seemed weirdly perfect?
The system muttered under its breath, "Ugh, trash belongs with trash~"
