Chapter 55: Fu Siyuan! Get down from the wall!
byChapter 55: Fu Siyuan! Get Off That Wall Right Now!
The villa where Fu Siyuan currently lives with his mentor is nestled in the heart of the bustling city center.
This tranquil oasis amidst urban chaos is highly coveted by wealthy families.
The entire villa complex was reserved even before it was officially listed for sale.
Fu Cheng initially planned to sell all the villas.
But on an inexplicable impulse, he kept one for himself.
The two cars stopped at the villa entrance. After alighting with his daughter in his arms, Fu Cheng settled into his wheelchair.
Noticing his second son behind him, he wheeled himself forward and said, "When I bought this villa, I intended to give it to you as your coming-of-age gift."
"I wanted to surprise you, but after all this back-and-forth, you’ve already been here."
Fu Cheng wasn’t lying.
Although keeping this villa was a spur-of-the-moment decision at the time, he later decided to put his second son’s name on the deed and gift it to him as his coming-of-age present.
As the middle child, Fu Yuchen’s position in the family had always been awkward—caught in the middle.
Coupled with the fact that he wasn’t as boisterous as Fu Siyuan, he rarely garnered much attention in daily life.
Being overlooked had long become a habit for him. Now, his father was telling him that this villa had been reserved as a gift for him all along.
His heart swirled with mixed emotions, gradually melting into warmth that spread through his chest.
Fu Yuchen curled his lips into a smile, his eyes shining with happiness. "Thanks, Dad."
Today, Fu Cheng had seen more smiles from his second son than in all the years before combined.
Pleased with his past decision, Fu Cheng was feeling smug when his little daughter suddenly spoke up from his arms.
"Not for Second Brother! There’s a bad thing inside!"
Unaware of what had happened the day before, Fu Cheng immediately thought of his youngest son when Zhi Zhi mentioned a "bad thing."
He smirked as he chuckled, "That’s right. Your Third Brother is the troublemaker—he’s the bad one."
"Third Brother not bad! Daddy no say bad things about Third Brother!"
When he realized she wasn't talking about his youngest son, Fu Cheng raised an eyebrow. "Then what’s the bad thing? Is there someone Zhi Zhi dislikes inside?"
Zhi Zhi shook her head and pointed at a large rock by the roadside. "Bad thing!"
Fu Yuchen added, "Yesterday, Zhi Zhi suddenly pointed at a rock in the yard and called it a 'bad thing,' demanding we get rid of it."
"That same night, you woke up, Dad."
"Ever since Zhi Zhi came back, the entire Fu family has undergone drastic changes. Don’t you think all of this was meant to be?"
Explaining what happened the previous day, Fu Yuchen took his sister’s small hand and added, "Your older brothers all say Zhi Zhi is the Fu family’s Little Lucky Star. Even Mu Lan, the CEO of Mu Group, adores her to bits."
"Dad, are you absolutely sure you don't remember Zhi Zhi’s mother at all?"
Such a sweet and well-behaved little sister must have a kind mother.
Fu Yuchen had once thought that if his father really brought a woman home, the best he could do was probably leave the family.
But if it were Zhi Zhi's mother, he would welcome her warmly and thank her for bringing Zhi Zhi into the world.
Holding his sister’s chubby little hand in his, Fu Yuchen watched as his father frowned in deep thought and said, "Dad, don’t strain yourself trying to remember if you can’t. It’s too hot—let’s get Zhi Zhi inside where it’s cooler."
Summer in the capital was sweltering and dry.
Even though they had bundled the little dumpling up against the sun before heading out, by the time the father and son brought her indoors and removed the fisherman’s hat covering her small head, her cheeks were all flushed. Both couldn’t help grinning at the sight.
"Zhi Zhi, are you hot? Do you want some milk?"
The formula needed to be drunk while still warm, and Fu Yuchen kept that in mind.
When he took the bottle out of the baby bag, the milk was just the right temperature.
"Here, take it slow—don’t choke."
He unscrewed the cap and handed the bottle to his sister, but instead, she pushed it right back at him.
"Big Bro drink! Big Bro hot?"
Little dumpling was still learning to talk. While basic daily vocabulary had been taught by her mother, the rest she picked up bit by bit from those around her.
In her tiny, baby voice asking if Big Bro was hot, she then offered her favorite bottle to him.
Her big, round almond eyes—utterly lacking in intimidation—blinked up at him, melting his heart.
Smiling, Fu Yuchen gently pushed the bottle back toward her. "Second Brother doesn’t drink milk. I’ll grab some water later."
As he spoke, he lifted his gaze, his hazel eyes locking onto his father’s jealous glare.
"Dad, I’ll get you some water too."
Not wasting a second, Fu Yuchen wheeled away at a speedy 5 km/h toward the inner room, afraid that if he lingered any longer, his father might launch into another over-the-top tantrum.
Little dumpling didn’t understand why Second Brother had left so fast.
She looked down at the bottle in her arms, then turned and offered it to her father behind her.
"Daddy’s hot! Daddy drink!"
Fu Cheng was seething with jealousy toward his second son.
But unlike with his sons, he couldn’t bring himself to act the same way toward his daughter.
His smile a little forced, he took the bottle from her and said, "Then Daddy will really drink it, okay?"
Zhi Zhi blinked, her large eyes filled with sincerity.
Then she nodded firmly. "Mm! Daddy drink!"
Fu Cheng had only been teasing her.
But seeing her not only miss his joke but also stare up at him with those big, earnest eyes—
Covering his eyes with his palm, Fu Cheng looked completely defeated as he pushed the milk bottle back into his daughter's arms.
"Never mind, Daddy's not that thirsty. Zhi Zhi drinks it. Drinking milk will help Zhi Zhi grow big and tall!"
Zhi Zhi clutched the milk bottle that had circled around and returned to her arms, and lisped in her tiny voice, "Zhi Zhi drinks milk, grows tall, and takes care of Daddy and brothers!"
Fu Cheng let go, wrapping one arm around his daughter as he steered the wheelchair toward the inner rooms. "Yes, when Zhi Zhi finishes the milk, she’ll grow tall and take care of Daddy and brothers."
"Zhi Zhi must also eat properly. Eating all her food helps her grow too!"
Little dumpling sat in her father’s arms, nodding her tiny head with every word he said, looking utterly adorable.
The warm moment between father and daughter had nearly reached the villa’s living room when a sudden, unfamiliar shout abruptly shattered the moment.
"Fu Siyuan! Get down from that wall right now! If you dare climb over today, I’ll call your brother immediately!"
"I’ll give you five seconds. If you don’t come down, I’ll take action!"
"Five......"
Fu Yuchen, who had just come out of the kitchen after pouring water, clearly heard the angry shout as well.
As if on cue, the three men headed toward the source of the noise, only to find themselves furious at the scene unfolding in the villa’s inner courtyard.
