Chapter 164: Not convinced? Come hit me
byChapter 164: Not Convinced? Come at Me
A new day arrived as Fu Siyuan carried his little sister and reappeared at the school gate of No. 1 High School.
Early in the morning, unlike other students who looked numb and burdened by their studies, Fu Siyuan was beaming with joy, radiating vitality.
"Third Brother, will Second Brother really not be angry?"
Zhi Zhi sat in her third brother's arms, holding a bottle of milk and sipping it slowly, her small face scrunched in doubt.
Having slept a lot the previous night, she had woken up early that morning.
It had been agreed that she would continue going to school with Second Brother today, but the first one downstairs, Third Brother, told her that Second Brother had agreed to let her go with him instead.
Still groggy from sleep, with a rebellious tuft of hair sticking up on her head, the little dumpling believed him without question. It wasn’t until she was already in Third Brother’s "deceptive car" that she sensed something was off.
Second Brother hadn’t come downstairs yet, nor had he told her about this arrangement.
From the moment he picked up his sister and got into the car, Fu Siyuan hadn’t stopped smiling.
He reached out and pressed down the little tuft of hair on her head, only for it to spring back up the moment he let go—adorably.
He grinned, eyes crinkling, as he said, "Of course it's true. Third Brother wouldn’t lie to Zhi Zhi."
"If Zhi Zhi doesn’t believe me, why don’t we call Second Brother right now?"
When it came to her brothers’ credibility, Zhi Zhi always trusted them.
She shook her head and shifted her attention elsewhere. "Third Brother, why are all the older brothers and sisters looking at us?"
To be precise, it wasn’t "us" they were staring at—it was Fu Siyuan.
The transfer student who had only arrived at Elite No. 1 High School at the start of the semester was already world-famous at the age of 14.
Parents of the school’s students assumed that his enrollment had something to do with both his connection to the Fu family and the international awards he had won.
A student with such accolades was bound to become a legend in the school’s history.
But what they hadn’t expected was that Fu Siyuan wasn’t just some one-trick pony who could only sketch designs.
Elite No. 1 High School was no stranger to high-achievers. Every year, it sent all kinds of exceptional students across the nation and even the world, boasting top-tier faculty and abundant educational resources—which was why parents scrambled to get their children in.
Here, merely passing college entrance exams was just the starting point. High pressure often unlocked hidden potential, and every exam, big or small, saw unexpected top scorers emerge.
In such an environment, ranking first in the entire grade was a huge challenge.
Fu Siyuan had only been enrolled for a month, attending classes and leaving on time without even attending extra study sessions.
Yet despite that, he had still secured the top spot in the grade—beating the second-place student by over ten points.
"Isn’t that Fu Siyuan, the one who got first place in the grade? I heard his score was just one point shy of full marks. With results like that, if he joined the gifted class..."
"Some people are born in Rome—he’s got every advantage. With all the educational resources he has, it’d be weird if he didn’t do well, don’t you think?"
"Quit whining! Have you seen those slackers in the international class, like Zheng Yi and his crew? They’re rich too—are their grades any good? If you’ve got the nerve, go say that to his face."
"I heard the other Fu sons are also incredible, just more low-key. Wasn’t there news a while back about the CEO of Fu Group being in a coma after a car accident? Maybe they came back to fight over the inheritance? Rich families have endless scandals—just one random story could leave us speechless for ages."
"Fu Siyuan brought his little sister to school again? I bet he’s doing it to distract his classmates. Otherwise, why would he always be toting his sister around?"
Fame is as dangerous for men as fattening is for pigs.
Fu Siyuan kept to himself. Apart from that one fight with Zheng Yi, he never provoked others in any matter.
He completed his homework diligently and aced every pop quiz.
Yet even so, there were still those who couldn't stand his success, spreading nasty rumors in private.
Carrying his sister through one of the school buildings, Fu Siyuan suddenly stopped when onlookers expected him to head toward the senior high building as usual.
Zhi Zhi, gripping her brother's uniform at the shoulders, peeked out, frowning. "Don't speak ill of Third Brother! He's the best brother in the world!"
Fu Siyuan hadn't even spoken yet, but his little sister had already stood up for him.
Lowering his eyelids slightly to conceal his amusement, he patted her back reassuringly. As he slowly turned around, the warmth in his eyes had vanished, replaced by a cold glare. "Anyone got a problem or opinion about my academic performance?"
Dead silence.
In the distance, the sound of recitation echoed from senior classrooms.
But within a five-meter radius of Fu Siyuan, not a soul dared utter a word.
A scornful smile flickered in his eyes as he locked onto the student who had spoken ill of his sister. "Mind your words, unless you want trouble."
"If any of you have a problem with me—if you think I cheated or simply dislike me..."
"Then come at me."
His grin widened as he tilted his head, his neck cracking loudly.
Tall and seemingly slender, only those who had crossed him knew the explosive strength hidden beneath that lean frame—enough to rival any adult.
Just days prior, Zheng Yi from the international class had picked a fight with him. Rumor had it that several couldn't take him down alone, and Zheng Yi ended up hospitalized with disciplinary action, still bedridden.
At this recollection, the loudmouths who had been trash-talking earlier immediately lowered their heads and retreated two steps.
Fu Siyuan snorted.
Glancing down at his sister, who'd pulled back but was staring wide-eyed at him, he hastily softened his expression, replacing the coldness with a bright smile.
Pinching her cheek gently, he murmured, "Let's go. Class time."
As he strode away with his sister, everyone sighed in relief—only to tense again at the sound of a childish voice piping up:
"They were mean to Third Brother. They're bad. Why didn't you hit them, Third Brother?"
The bullies froze, disbelief flashing in their eyes.
Wasn't the Fu family's Fourth Miss supposed to be quiet and well-behaved?
This child openly advocating violence—could she be an imposter?
Unbeknownst to them, the Fu family trait was fierce protectiveness. Even the docile Zhi Zhi would bare her claws when her father or brothers were slighted.
Fu Siyuan's long strides carried them swiftly away, his response lost to the distance before anyone could catch it.
When Fu Siyuan carried his little sister back to the classroom, the students in the experimental class, who had no intention of a morning study session to begin with, immediately burst into chatter upon spotting the little one in his arms.
"Zhi Zhi! Fu Siyuan said you wouldn't be coming to school for a while, and I was heartbroken. I didn't expect you to come back so soon!"
"Zhi Zhi, Zhi Zhi! Did you watch the meteor shower yesterday? Was it beautiful? Was it awesome?"
"Zhi Zhi, I missed you so much! I even baked cookies for you over the weekend, but you didn't come to school, so they all got eaten by others..."
Unlike the chanting lessons from other classes, the experimental class was unusually lively.
Zhi Zhi had just been set down by her big brother when her arms were immediately stuffed full of snacks by her classmates.
After sweetly thanking them and answering their questions, she was finally given some space.
The class monitor stood at the back of the crowd and congratulated Fu Siyuan as he walked to his seat.
"Congratulations, Classmate Fu. Your results in this monthly exam were outstanding. How did you achieve such good grades? Do you have any study tips?"
Fu Siyuan tossed his backpack into the desk compartment and glanced up. "Thanks. No secret. Pro tip: Just leave out a period in your Chinese essay, and you'll do as well as me."
