Chapter 107: Second Young Master Fu, Give Up Your University Enrollment for My Friend

Last time, Fu Jingyi and his siblings decided to post their sister’s photo on the Fu Group’s official account. Subsequently, Fu Cheng held a press conference upon waking, which already constituted a semi-public revelation.

If a banquet were to be held, it would be tantamount to Fu Cheng announcing his young heir in front of numerous dignitaries.

Although Fu Cheng had stated long ago that after his retirement, he wouldn’t interfere with how the Fu Group was divided among the three brothers,

times have changed. Now that his own flesh and blood has appeared, and he has so lavishly invited so many people to witness the father-daughter recognition ceremony, it’s different.

In their circle, there’s an unwritten rule:

Adopted children rank below illegitimate ones.

Illegitimate children rank below biological ones.

Only when there are neither biological nor illegitimate children do they choose to adopt the most outstanding child from the extended family to become their heir.

Fu Cheng has no collateral relatives. He came from a small mountain village and built the Fu Group empire with his ruthless tactics.

Over the years, countless people have tried to send women to Fu Cheng. Even the previously reported triple-threat award-winning actress wanted to get into his bed, hoping to bear him a child or two.

Unfortunately, Fu Cheng has remained completely impervious all these years, never giving a second glance to the opposite sex, let alone making any advances.

The moment the invitations were sent out, all three realms were utterly shocked.

The Fu Group maintains a low profile personally, but their actions are anything but.

Acquisitions, sales—anything related to money, excluding the untouchable black-market industries—even gray-market operations, Fu Cheng briefly involved himself in.

Later, Fu Cheng resolved to conduct legitimate business, transitioning from gray to white. While his business practices changed, as a person, Fu Cheng remained as unapproachable as ever.

With such a personality, Fu Cheng’s relationships became polarized. Those who liked him admired his authenticity, while those who despised him constantly opposed him.

Now, the infamous Fu Cheng announcing to reporters that he has a daughter was one thing.

But to actually invite them to share in this joy?

Some were genuinely happy for Fu Cheng, finally having an heir and no longer being alone.

Others, upon seeing the invitation, treated it like a hot potato, wanting to discard it before even touching it.

No matter how shocked the outside world was, many still showed up in their finest and attended the banquet that night.

In the children’s room on the second floor of the Fu residence, the little dumpling, wearing a floral dress with a Peter Pan collar, leaned over the balcony, her lively black eyes watching the crowd milling about below.

Gripping the railing with both hands, the little dumpling had never seen so many people at home before.

Her brothers told her that after tonight, Zhizhi would be a junior debutante and could make many good friends.

The little dumpling didn’t understand what a junior debutante meant. She had sneaked a peek from upstairs earlier—there were so many people downstairs, and she didn’t want to go down...

“Zhizhi? Why are you hiding on the balcony alone?”

Having just handed off the guest reception duties to his third brother and come upstairs to take a breather with his sister, Fu Jingyi entered the room only to find her missing. Frantically scanning the entire children’s room, he finally spotted her petite figure on the balcony and quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Walking slowly to the balcony, Fu Jingyi followed her gaze downward. “Zhizhi doesn’t want to go downstairs?”

They never forced their sister to do anything.

But she was the guest of honor today. Seeing his sister give a little nod, Fu Jingyi smiled. “Then let’s wait for Father to come back before going down, okay?”

    “When will Daddy be back?”

The little dumpling hadn’t seen her father all day, and even after just one day, she already missed him.

Fu Jingyi instinctively reached out to ruffle her hair but stopped when he saw the delicate braids atop her head. Withdrawing his hand, he looked toward the entrance. “Should be soon.”

Though he said so, Fu Jingyi wasn’t entirely sure.

His father’s word held little credibility with him.

In the past, their father rarely attended their birthday parties, always claiming work commitments and having his assistant deliver gifts instead.

Over time, they had grown accustomed to it.

But today was all about their sister. Surely, their father wouldn’t go back on his word this time.

As the siblings gazed outward, lost in thought, a harsh voice cut through the air nearby.

“Never thought your dad actually had an illegitimate daughter out there. We used to worry you’d get lucky—maybe your eldest brother would die early, and you’d become the Fu family’s second heir. Didn’t dare mess with you.”

“But now, your dad’s love child is back, and your position just got pushed down another notch. Fu Yuchen, looks like you’ll never get to be the Fu Group’s heir in this lifetime, huh?”

“Or is your fate really that hard? First, you killed your birth parents, and now you’re gonna kill your adoptive father’s daughter and that goody-two-shoes eldest brother of yours?”

“Honestly, you should just join us. I’m an illegitimate son, you’re adopted—if you team up with us, we might even find a way to get you the Fu Group’s inheritance. Since none of us have respectable backgrounds anyway, why not band together and take out all those people who look down on us?”

    “Right, guys? Hahahaha!”

The boy’s words were met with raucous laughter and agreement.

Hearing this, Fu Jingyi’s eyes widened as he snapped his head toward the source of the voice.

Because the nursery’s main light wasn’t on—only the starry night light he’d prepared was lit—the balcony where the siblings stood was poorly lit.

The group of boys was on a balcony separated from theirs by another one: the balcony of Fu Yuchen’s room.

The Fu residence’s rooms were spacious, and the balconies were spaced far apart, so the boys hadn’t noticed Fu Jingyi’s tall figure.

Precisely because they didn’t see him, they dared to speak so boldly.

From Fu Jingyi’s angle, he could clearly see Fu Yuchen surrounded by boys around his age.

Apparently dissatisfied with Fu Yuchen’s continued silence, the leader reached out and gave his cheek two condescending pats.

Amid the buzz of conversation below, those two pats rang out sharply.

“What’s wrong, Second Young Master Fu? Nothing to say? Heard you went on a trip with your dad. Such a perfect opportunity—why didn’t you finish him off?”

“What a shame. How the hell is Fu Cheng so lucky? I saw the crash footage—the car's front end was totaled. How’s he still alive?”

“Oh, right, almost forgot why we came up here today. Second Young Master Fu, need to ask you a favor.”

The young man casually slung an arm around the shoulders of a boy beside him and drawled, "You must’ve met this buddy of mine—the Zhang family's only son. He just failed the college entrance exam this year, and his parents are planning to send him abroad to buff up his credentials."

"If it weren’t for your family’s invitation, I’d almost forgotten that Second Young Master Fu is quite the scholar. What was your major again?"

    "Nuclear Variability Studies?"

Fu Yuchen’s field of study was so obscure that few could even pronounce it correctly.

He had always known these rich kids from the capital were troublemakers, full of rotten ideas, but he never expected they’d set their sights on him.

The boy lifted his gaze. His demeanor had always been icy, though his sister had managed to thaw some of that coldness in his veins. Yet now, he clamped that old armor back into place.

With a shadowed expression fixed on the speaker, Fu Yuchen huffed a frosty laugh through his nose just as the young man spoke again.

"I heard your big brother transferred your university enrollment back from abroad—to Jing University, right?"

"Here’s the deal: just name your price and we'll take that university slot off your hands. From then on, you’ll be one of the crew."

With that, the young man immediately turned to his lackeys behind him and snapped, "What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and thank Second Young Master Fu on Brother Zhang's behalf!"

At his command, the group of boys bowed in unison, loudly expressing their gratitude to Fu Yuchen.
