Chapter 184: A family of six (Grand finale)
byChapter 184: A Family of Six (Grand Finale)
"What a perfect picture! I have to post this online. How can one family of six be so incredibly good-looking and talented? Are they leaving any room for the rest of us to live?"
"Send me a copy of that photo! I’m putting it in my family group chat to constantly remind my parents. Hopefully, they’ll put in more effort. Good looks might be out of reach, but improving our living standards is certainly an option."
"Hilarious! Other families hope their children become dragons and phoenixes, but you’re over here hoping your parents do!"
"Zhi Zhi, look at your sister! My little girl is so adorable, clinging to her brother’s clothes. Mom, why haven’t you given me a sister yet?!"
"Exactly! Look how well-behaved, sweet, and cute their sister is—she even gets to accompany her brother to school. Dad, I want a sister too!"
Most children nowadays are only children, showered with all the love from their families, which inevitably leads to them being a bit spoiled.
But ever since they saw Fu Siyuan bringing his little sister to school every day—a tiny figure cradled in his arms, eating obediently in the cafeteria without being picky—it sparked a wave of affection among the students.
They all wanted a sister that adorable too.
Parents sitting in the stands, watching the family of six below, were left speechless.
They had all been pressured before—parents and relatives urging them to have another child for companionship, friends asking why they didn’t expand their family.
But they needed to have the means!
Not every child was as well-behaved and easy to raise as the Fu siblings!
Just raising one was enough to exhaust them.
The parents being pestered for a sister by their kids smiled faintly, though a closer look revealed a hint of mischief in their eyes.
"Wanting a sister isn’t the issue. But can you promise to take her to school like Classmate Fu, feed her meals and milk, all while maintaining straight A's and winning international awards?"
"I heard Zhi Zhi’s eldest brother is already the CEO of Fu Group, and her second brother just published a paper in an international academic journal. Son, I’m not asking you to match their achievements, but at least bring home a top ranking in your grade. That’s not too much to ask, is it?"
"Fine, you want a sister? Get into the top five in your grade next midterms, and your mom and I will consider it."
"What nonsense are you spouting? At our age, who’s going to raise another kid? Baby formula and diapers cost money! One is already a handful, and how can you guarantee the next one will be a daughter? What if it’s another ‘good-for-nothing’ son?"
The high schoolers clamoring for a sister instantly fell silent under their parents’ sharp retorts.
Especially the one branded a "good-for-nothing son"—he slumped in his seat, drawing laughter from his classmates.
Fu Siyuan had expected his family’s presence at the sports meet to cause a stir.
But he didn’t expect their arrival would distract even the competitors from their events.
The girls’ 800-meter race was underway when the leading runner, hearing the commotion, instinctively glanced toward the field entrance.
Spotting the little dumpling nestled in Fu Siyuan’s arms, she leaped with excitement. "Zhi Zhi!"
Zhi Zhi, who had been giggling as her brother held her, looked up at the familiar voice.
Her eyes lit up when she saw the girl on the track.
"Go, sis! You can do it!"
With Zhi Zhi’s cheers, the petite runner, who had only been slightly ahead, suddenly took off like a shot, crossing the finish line a full half-lap ahead of the others.
Beaming with pride, the girl returned to her class’s section with her medal and, seeing Zhi Zhi sipping water in Fu Siyuan’s lap, dashed over to hang her hard-earned prize around the little girl’s neck.
"I knew you wouldn’t break your promise, Zhi Zhi. Thanks for cheering me on!"
The weighty medal hung around her neck.
Zhi Zhi looked down at it before grinning up, her smile so big her eyes disappeared. "Sis, you’re amazing! You ran so fast! When I grow up, I wanna be just like you!"
The hearty praise made the girl’s blush deepen.
Shyly, she glanced at the family of six before fixing her gaze on Qing Zhi.
"Ma’am, can I give Zhi Zhi a kiss?"
Qing Zhi’s arms were already full of snacks gifted by the honors class students.
Chewing on a gummy candy, she barely had time to react before the girl gave a quick kiss on Zhi Zhi’s cheek and ran off, embarrassed.
Pausing mid-chew, Qing Zhi blinked at her husband, then her sons, mumbling through the candy, "Why kiss Zhi Zhi and not any of you?"
Fu Cheng smothered a laugh, taking the candy from her mouth and offering her water instead, all while ribbing his sons.
"What else? Aside from Jing Yi’s easygoing nature, Yu Chen’s always glaring like the world wronged him."
"And Siyuan? Impulsive and hot-tempered, fists first, questions later. Sure, his grades are decent, but since when do grades pay bills?"
Nearby parents, pretending to watch the events but secretly eavesdropping, shared weary glances.
They’d kill to have sons like his—international award-winners, published scholars!
President Fu, you’re lucky and don’t realize it.
Qing Zhi tilted her head. "Really? But Ah Cheng, you solve things with your fists too."
She’d seen him fight—terrifying, epic fights.
No wonder even immortals tread carefully around him.
Fu Cheng hadn’t expected his words to backfire.
His smile froze, eye twitching as his sons chuckled. He clenched the bottle so hard—
"Ah Cheng, you’re spilling it!"
Born of water, Qing Zhi couldn’t stand waste.
Seeing him crush the bottle, she chided him.
Chastened, Fu Cheng hastily apologized and downed the remaining water.
Fu Siyuan’s sprint was scheduled for the third morning event. Though young, his long limbs and rigorous training under his father and brothers made the short dash—a mere burst of speed—effortless.
With Zhi Zhi’s support, many honors class students podiumed, each insisting their medals belonged around her neck, as if her approval outweighed any official accolade.
By day’s end, Zhi Zhi’s small shoulders bore an improbable weight of medals, and the senior division buzzed with unprecedented energy.
Only when the exhausted toddler dozed off in her second brother’s arms did the family of six finally head home, ending their exhilarating, whirlwind day.
And as expected, the morning’s family portrait once again dominated the forum’s trending page.
