Chapter 127: You Come Over or I Go Over

The days of abstinence were actually not easy to endure, because the decision rested with Shen Shiyan, who controlled the duration and intervals, which often led Shen Ci to throw tantrums or act pouty with him.

Aside from this aspect, Shen Ci's anxiety had eased significantly. Maybe one or two days a month he felt down, but Shen Shiyan always coaxed him through it.

When it came to coaxing Shen Ci, Shen Shiyan took great pleasure in it. He was more than happy for Shen Ci to fuss a little.

The early spring weather was warming up, yet there was still a lingering chill.

Shen Ci followed Shen Shiyan to the company. Because they had been a bit too frequent last week, it had been three days without anything, and his mood wasn't great.

This was the first time Shen Ci met Chen Qing.

He had known long ago that Shen Shiyan had hired a new special assistant, but since returning to the country, Shen Ci hadn't been interested in experiencing the bustling corporate culture at Chonghe. On top of that, he was busy with livestreaming and cosplaying, so he never had the time.

He didn't have a good impression of this man, who looked very capable and had decent looks.

Especially when Chen Qing was discussing work with Shen Shiyan, Shen Ci found him particularly irritating.

Under the scrutinizing gaze from the sofa in the reception area, Chen Qing discussed the previous quarter's financial report with Shen Shiyan without any pressure. He even stepped closer to Shen Shiyan, with a hint of provocation.

"Brother," Shen Ci, sitting on the sofa, changed his position and asked him during a lull in their conversation, "How much longer will you be busy?"

Shen Shiyan looked up, revealing a smile that Chen Qing had almost never seen—very gentle.

"Bored? I'll try to hurry." He shook the document in his hand, like coaxing a child. "Play by yourself for a bit first."

"Mm, I want to eat sweet and sour ribs." He said, lowering his head to play a puzzle game on his phone.

"Okay, I'll make it for you when we get back." Shen Shiyan's gaze dropped, his expression returning to its usual indifference.

Neither of them intended to hide their relationship in front of Chen Qing, just as Shen Shiyan never openly concealed the hickeys left on his neck—hickeys deliberately left to declare ownership—being open and unashamed.

Chen Qing felt uncomfortable, because he had come here for Shen Shiyan.

For so many years, aside from the early-career rumors of a secret affair with Song Xianghan of Starway, Shen Shiyan had no other entertainment gossip.

Perhaps it was because Shen Shiyan had protected the person too well, so Chen Qing had never once heard the name Shen Ci in any report.

Unexpectedly, not long after he had arrived, before he could even get close to this aloof President Shen, Shen Shiyan officially announced his relationship.

Chen Qing was upset for days, resentful that he had arrived first but was beaten to the punch.

Both of them had their own thoughts during the work exchange. Shen Shiyan spoke faster while outlining the next quarter's work arrangements, clearly signaling he wanted to finish up and leave quickly.

Chen Qing intentionally stalled a bit, but he was worried that Shen Shiyan would question his work ability because of it. After all, Chonghe never kept useless people, and his abilities weren't yet on par with those of Miss Qi, who had already been promoted.

Fifteen minutes later, Chen Qing left the office. Shen Ci paused his puzzle game, turned off his phone, stood up, lowered the blinds on the glass door, locked it, and then approached Shen Shiyan.

"President Shen," Shen Ci said with a slightly sarcastic tone.

Shen Shiyan didn't look up. His hand nearest Shen Ci reached out and pulled him by the waist, and with a bit of force, he pulled him over and sat him on his lap.

"Don't want to be Song Qiuchi's secretary anymore?" Shen Shiyan turned the file to the next page.

"If I come be your secretary, will you fire that guy?" Shen Ci pressed his lips against Shen Shiyan's Adam's apple. "Husband."

"You don't like Chen Qing?" Shen Shiyan frowned slightly and pinched Shen Ci's waist. "Tuck your tongue back in."

"It's not that I don't like him." Shen Ci bit him discontentedly. "I locked the door."

"It's not time until evening." Shen Shiyan closed the folder and lightly patted Shen Ci on the back. "Let's go home, baby."

Shen Ci stopped clinging. Before getting off, he kissed Shen Shiyan's cheek. "Let's pick up Tuanzi and go to the villa."

Shen Shiyan took his coat from the rack and put it on while saying, "The pool table was just cleaned."

"Then we'll clean it again." Shen Ci unlocked the door.

As they went downstairs, they passed by Chen Qing.

"Goodbye, President Shen," Chen Qing said habitually.

"Mm." Shen Shiyan glanced at Shen Ci beside him without much reaction.

Shen Ci simply didn't like how Chen Qing purposely got too close to Shen Shiyan, but he wasn't jealous enough to feel inexplicable animosity toward an assistant.

They strolled around the supermarket for a while, buying some snacks Shen Ci liked and fresh ingredients. It was just three in the afternoon when they arrived at Yunjing Mansion.

On the living room coffee table, the tissues had been shredded by Tuanzi. As soon as they entered, Shen Ci thought it had snowed indoors.

"...Tuanzi must have a black strand of fur." Shen Ci laughed and leaned against Shen Shiyan.

Shen Shiyan tossed the keys onto the entryway cabinet and said with a faint smile. "Go see where it's hiding. I'll clean up."

    Shen Ci said okay.

Two or three minutes later, Shen Ci came out of the master bedroom and helped Shen Shiyan tidy up the slightly messy living room.

"Tuanzi's not coming. It's tired and sleeping." Shen Ci picked up a small cushion from the floor. "I called it several times, but it ignored me."

"How many days of freeze-dried treats are you punishing it with this time?" Shen Shiyan put the cleaning tools back in place.

"Two days," Shen Ci thought for a moment. "Last time I said three, but it kept rubbing against my legs and acting cute, so I couldn't resist."

    Shen Shiyan smiled meaningfully.

    "I'm like that too."

Shen Ci looked at him, slightly confused. "After we got together, I always feed it treats. What can't you resist?"

"Not Tuanzi. You." Shen Shiyan walked over to Shen Ci and tousled his hair. "You're like a little cat, always acting cute before the time is up."

"Shen Shiyan!" Shen Ci looked up and glared at him.

"Alright, alright." Shen Shiyan pinched his cheek. "Time to go to the villa. I'll make you sweet and sour ribs."

On the way, Shen Ci thought more and more about it. He felt it wasn't entirely his fault. He was already feeling uncomfortable, and Shen Shiyan kept saying things like that to tease him. He even suspected Shen Shiyan was getting back at him for those times he used to tease him into arousal without being able to relieve it.

Once they entered the suburbs, there were hardly any cars on the road. They had eaten some of the desserts Shen Ci bought in the office, so Shen Shiyan wasn't in a hurry to get back. He drove slowly.

The passenger seat was set up like a cozy bedroom nook. Since the seat heating was on, Shen Ci didn't wear shoes and wrapped himself in a blanket.

He sat slightly sideways, stretched his legs across the center console, and rubbed his feet on Shen Shiyan's thigh a couple of times.

Shen Shiyan grabbed his ankle and slowed down even more. "Don't move."

Shen Ci gave him a sweet smile. "I'm imitating Tuanzi."

Shen Shiyan was rendered helpless by his smile, rubbing his thumb over the mole on Shen Ci’s ankle.

The car pulled into the villa and came to a stop. Shen Shiyan unfastened his seatbelt but didn’t get out.

Shen Ci tried to pull his ankle back but couldn’t move it, then heard the doors lock.

    “…Brother.”

Shen Shiyan looked at him with a half-smile and adjusted the seat further back.

“You coming here, or am I coming over?”

    ...

The blanket, still warm from Shen Ci, was draped over the steering wheel, and pressed against it from behind was Shen Ci himself.

“Brother likes it when you act up, but next time, don’t tease me while I’m driving, baby.”

Shen Ci’s consciousness slowly dissolved into the intermittent honks that rang out whenever something brushed against the horn.

In the end, Shen Ci was carried back inside; he himself lost count of how many times it happened.

That evening, he got to eat the sweet and sour ribs he’d been craving.

The next day, Tuanzi was already back to tearing things apart, but Shen Ci was truly exhausted. Early the next morning, Shen Shiyan had a meeting at the company, and Shen Ci clung to him, insisting on coming along—only to fall asleep in the passenger seat for the entire drive.

When he was woken up, Shen Ci realized that Shen Shiyan hadn’t parked in the underground garage today.

Dazed and stumbling out of the car, Shen Ci was led by the hand by Shen Shiyan. A glimpse from the corner of his eye made him stop in his tracks.

“Shen Shiyan!” All drowsiness vanished in an instant. Shen Ci’s voice was deliberately low but a bit irritated. “You did that on purpose!!”

Shen Shiyan’s shoulders shook with suppressed laughter.

On the front windshield, on the driver’s side, were two clear handprints left by Shen Ci, their outlines stark under the sunlight.

Shen Ci gave him a light punch on the waist.

“You’re still laughing!! Go park it in the garage!” Shen Ci snapped, staring at Shen Shiyan, who had turned around. “Get the car washed right after the meeting!”

“Got it.” Shen Shiyan pulled open the driver’s door, squeezing Shen Ci’s hand before letting go. “You’re so cute.”
