    Chapter 003: Taking the Plane

Ye Sui didn't sleep a wink all night. After Li Pushu fell asleep, he stared at her sleeping face, holding her tightly.

The word "breakup" had struck a nerve in Ye Sui, and he understood that he had been more intense than ever.

Last night, he had initially planned to stop; he made her a meal and fed her until she was full, but once she regained her energy, she bit him on the arm and insisted on leaving and breaking up.

Ye Sui couldn't help himself. He kept going until the early hours of the morning. This time, she finally begged for mercy, crying that she wouldn't leave him. Only then did he feel satisfied, stopping to carry her to wash up, apply medicine, and coax her back to sleep. She was so furious she cursed him in her sleep, grinding her teeth and scratching at him.

Ye Sui knew in his heart that her promise not to break up was just lip service, insincere. But it didn't matter—they would be together forever.

"Shushu, since we started, there's no chance to end it." Ye Sui touched her face, leaned down to kiss her slightly swollen lips, his eyes filled with obsession. Sleep overcame him, and he fell asleep holding Li Pushu.

In his dream, Ye Sui returned to the beginning of their freshman year.

He had arrived at school a few days early and quickly found a part-time job at a milk tea shop. He wore a mask and hat while working. Li Pushu came in as a customer to buy milk tea.

She was so beautiful that she immediately caused a stir in the shop. Standing before him, she was more stunning than a rose. Ordinary people dared not approach her, feeling intimidated.

Ye Sui heard his own heartbeat—as if his sealed heart suddenly came alive with fresh blood, healthy and joyful.

This was their first meeting—or rather, his first time seeing Li Pushu. She didn't notice him at all, frantically looking at a map. Ye Sui realized she was a freshman at Jiangdong University, the same school as him. This discovery made him very happy.

Later, he heard many people at school mention this new student who looked unrealistically beautiful. He learned her name: Li Pushu, majoring in English Translation.

The second one-sided meeting was outside the campus. It was drizzling that day, and Li Pushu hadn't brought an umbrella. She got wet in the rain, running with her bag over her head. But she stumbled upon a stray puppy abandoned by its mother, lying in the rain, whining weakly. Luckily, she stepped back quickly, or she would have stepped on it.

Her temper wasn't good, as prickly as her overly gorgeous appearance. Li Pushu grumbled, "Why don't you know how to take shelter from the rain? And your mother is so irresponsible, just leaving you here! Seriously, you've run into me—a beauty with a kind heart. Remember to burn incense and thank me in the future. Anyone else would have kicked you away!"

The puppy was only half a month old and hadn't opened its eyes yet. So even though she complained, she didn't mind its wet, dirty condition. She picked up the puppy, wrapped it in her favorite clothes to keep it warm, and braved the rain to take it to a nearby animal rescue station. She reluctantly paid some money for its care.

As for taking it home to raise, that was impossible. How could a student living in a dormitory raise a puppy? And she didn't have the money either!

Saving its life, hoping it would find a good owner in the future, or at least being well cared for at the shelter—that was already a huge act of kindness from her.

Ye Sui wanted to go out to help her, but he knew they didn't know each other. Li Pushu would definitely ignore him.

So he returned to the school gate first. This was his carefully planned first formal introduction. He held an umbrella and walked in the rain. Seeing Li Pushu rushing in, drenched, he nervously said, "Hey, want to share my umbrella? I'll walk you back to the dorm." He tilted the umbrella toward her, shielding her, while his own shoulder and hair got wet.

Li Pushu stopped and studied him for a long moment. They stood in the rain, the mist making her look even more ethereal. While waiting for her answer, Ye Sui was nervous, his palms sweaty, his heart pounding like a drum.

"Sure, thank you. My name is Li Pushu. What's yours?" She nodded, walking beside him, and even offered her name first. Ye Sui caught a whiff of her scent, his face flushed, and a wave of happiness washed over him.

"Ye Sui, my name is Ye Sui." Ye Sui noticed her wet clothes clinging to her figure, revealing a breathtaking silhouette. He took off his plaid jacket and handed it to her. "It's cold in the rain. You can put this on if you need."

He didn't dare say it directly. Li Pushu looked down, understood, thanked him, and put on the jacket without hesitation. Ye Sui's face reddened, feeling as if he had wrapped her in his jacket.

With the jacket, they managed to exchange contact information. Li Pushu said she would wash it and return it to him. Ye Sui didn't refuse, because this was his only chance to see her again.

At the entrance to the girls' dormitory, Ye Sui felt a pang of disappointment. The walk had been too short; he wished they could walk together forever. But he couldn't show his reluctance.

"I'll head back. Talk to you later." Li Pushu ran into the dormitory, glancing back with a smile that outshone everything around her—no scenery could compare to her beauty.

That image was etched into Ye Sui's heart, leaving an indelible mark. He thought he would never forget it, and every time he recalled it, he felt joy.

From then on, their contact gradually increased. The chemistry between them grew more apparent. Ye Sui chose to confess on Li Pushu's birthday, October 12th.

Before leaving, Ye Sui spruced himself up and bought the freshest flowers, still covered in dew. He had secretly rehearsed his confession many times, but at that moment, he was so nervous he could barely get the words out.

"Shushu, I like you. Will you be my girlfriend? I promise to treat you like a queen." With everything he had, including his own life.

He wanted to say, "I love you," but those three words felt too heavy. He worried they might weigh on Li Pushu, so he said "I like you" instead. His love would be shown through his actions.

"Sure, I agree." Surprisingly, Li Pushu didn't hesitate long. She took the flowers.

Ye Sui understood in his heart that she agreed not because she liked him that much, but just wanted to date someone. Still, it didn't matter—so many people wanted to date her, yet she chose him. That was a stroke of luck he could only dream of.

During their relationship, Ye Sui experienced Li Pushu's temper and her knack for teasing. She always demanded the best, and if she didn't get it, she'd throw a tantrum. Ye Sui didn't mind; in fact, he spoiled her rotten, loving her to no end.

She was perfect in a thousand ways, and having such demands was only natural. He would strive to meet her expectations. Only a man without ability who only wanted to take advantage without giving would think Shushu was only after money.

Four years passed in a flash, and now she was giving him a wake-up call. He had worked countless days and nights for their future, yet she wanted to give up and leave him.

Ye Sui wouldn't allow it. He would never allow it. They would be together forever, and not even he or Shushu could change that outcome.

    *

Li Pushu's body recovered quickly. When she woke up in the afternoon, the soreness and swelling were gone.

But she was still very angry. Though she had enjoyed it and benefited from the nourishment—her complexion looked even better, her skin fair and rosy, her eyes bright—it didn't mean she could forgive Ye Sui's embarrassing habits. How had she never noticed this before?

They had their first time last summer vacation. Both were orphans. She went with Ye Sui to his hometown house to hang out. With the two of them alone at that age... things happened naturally. It was a perfect fit.

They were very compatible. She demanded a lot, and Ye Sui always delivered. In short, it was blissful. Having such a powerful beauty booster elevated her looks to another level, making her glow. This led Ye Sui to stick to her like glue, watching her closely to prevent anyone else from stealing her away.

Ye Sui was perfect in every way—good-looking, with a great body, endurance, and natural stamina...

"Ahhh! So annoying! I need to think of his flaws!" Li Pushu, thinking of these things, almost didn't want to break up. Having such qualities was rare.

She was very satisfied. With his stamina, he could keep going for decades. But Ye Sui was poor. Li Pushu shook her head, burying her face in the pillow to find his flaws.

Besides being too poor, she found another one: he was too clingy, and when he went wild, like last night, she couldn't handle it! Yes, that was it—too much of a good thing is bad!

"Shushu, don't bury yourself like that. I made your favorite dishes. Come eat." Ye Sui came in and found Li Pushu trying to roll herself into a cocoon, rolling around but unable to escape, panting. He found it hilarious, went over to help her out, held her in his arms, and carried her to the bathroom to freshen up.

"Hmph, I'm not eating!" Li Pushu crossed her arms and turned her head away. But Ye Sui pinched her chin, and she had to open her mouth to let him brush her teeth and wash her face.

Seeing the lavish meal, she temporarily forgot about refusing to eat. After eating her fill, Li Pushu brought up the old topic again: "Let's call last night a breakup sex. Don't come looking for me anymore, or Guo Shao will get angry. But when I need you, I'll call you, and you can't refuse!" She added the last part as if it were only natural.

"Guo Shao isn't short of money. When I have money, I'll use a third of it to keep you as my boy toy. You're pretty useful, after all."

Li Pushu felt proud of her brilliant plan, casting a sidelong glance at Ye Sui that seemed to say, "You should thank me."

    "..."

Ye Sui pressed his throbbing temples, torn between amusement and exasperation by her words. She was quite the entrepreneur. He wanted to crack open her head and see what wild ideas were swirling around in there.

"Shushu, let's talk properly." Ye Sui was used to his girlfriend's whims and fancies.

He pulled Li Pushu to sit beside him. "Why do you have to break up with me? Is there something I did that you're not satisfied with?"

Li Pushu snorted. "Ye Sui, do you even need to ask? Are you stupid? No matter what you do, it's useless if you don't have money. Being poor is the biggest crime!"

"Yes, I have no money. All I can afford now is a spacious penthouse with a river view and a five-hundred-thousand-yuan car..."

    "Wait!"

Ye Sui was interrupted. Li Pushu furrowed her brows. "I haven't even asked you yet. Where did you get the money to buy a house? This apartment, not even counting the renovation, must cost at least twenty million to buy. Don't tell me you're being kept by a rich woman!"

"Ye Sui, sharing a toothbrush and a man would make me sick to the point of vomiting! What did I do to deserve this hurt? I can't go on! Boohoo..."

Li Pushu was so angry she cried—her favorite "stick" had been used by someone else, not hers alone and clean. It's no different from eating a fly! Disgusting! Disgusting! Disgusting! She couldn't go on!

"..." The corner of Ye Sui's mouth twitched. He pulled her into his arms and coaxed her softly, "The stick has always been yours exclusively, only you can use it. When was it ever shared? You're dragging my name through the mud."

He explained, "The money for the house came from a mini-program game I developed. Remember? Two years ago, I was very busy, even our date time decreased—I was working on this back then."

"How come I didn't know?" Li Pushu looked at him suspiciously.

"I told you, but you weren't listening." Ye Sui sighed helplessly. He had mentioned it, but Shushu couldn't be bothered to keep those things in her head; as long as he was at her beck and call, that was enough.

Afraid that if he didn't explain clearly, she'd spout something that left him torn between exasperation and amusement, Ye Sui continued, "That game became a massive hit as soon as it launched. Later, I sold the software to a game company and asked for and got 35 million yuan for it. That money was used to buy a car and a house—both under your name, all for you." In other words, he wasn't that poor; he just kept a low profile. Otherwise, how could he always buy whatever Li Pushu wanted?

If the game was promoted well, making over a hundred million in a short time wasn't impossible, but his foundation was too weak to compete with big companies at the moment. If he hadn't sold it, he worried it might affect Li Pushu, so he sold it decisively after getting a satisfactory price.

The way to make money was in his mind. Even after selling this one, he could develop other software; he just needed to keep a low profile first, or as he called it, "play it cool and build up."

"R-really?" Li Pushu was shocked. She had just graduated and suddenly became the owner of an apartment with a river view?

"Of course." Ye Sui gently pinched her nose, amused. "You see my every move on your phone. I report everything I do, and I hand over all my money—not a cent left. Could it be false?"

Li Pushu rolled her eyes, turning red for once. "You dirty-minded guy, I wasn't talking about that!"

"The house and car are real too." Even her eye-roll was adorable. Ye Sui kissed her forehead. "Now I'm not that poor anymore. I'll give you everything you want, one step at a time. Give me some time, and don't ever mention breaking up again." He would go crazy.

"Just a flat? I want a big villa." Li Pushu suppressed her excitement, pushed his face away, and remained calm. "And this is the classic 'big promises, no follow-through' trick of a jerk—luring a silly woman into a lifetime commitment with just the two words 'wait for me.' Who knows if there will be anything later? By the time you have it, it'll be for someone else to enjoy, and I'll be old and worn out, just an ex-girlfriend in the way!"

She spoke confidently, "Hmph! Someone as clever and beautiful as me—I'm not stupid. You can sweet-talk all you want, but I won't fall for a man's lies!"

"...Am I really so unworthy of your trust?" Ye Sui asked with a smile.

Li Pushu snorted. "Men all belong in one folder; none of them gets a separate file."

"So, Shushu still wants to break up with me?" Ye Sui wasn't angry; his tone was meaningful.

"Of course! I'm going to live in a big villa with Master Guo, go on a yacht, and fly in a private jet. Who cares about a flat?" Li Pushu stood up and was about to walk out.

The next second, she was lifted into the air, carried back into the room, and the door was closed. Li Pushu kicked off her shoes, but it was useless.

"Shushu wants to take a private plane, huh? Here's a real one—your exclusive one. You can board right now."

    "Ahhh! Ye Sui, you bastard!"

"Like it, Shushu? Do you want to take off or land?"

    .

"L-land... no, no, take off! Ye Sui is teasing me!"

"Shushu wrongs me. It's you who's piloting the plane..."
