Chapter 5: The Spiritual Spring Space
byChapter 5: The Spiritual Spring Space
The next day, Li Pushu unsurprisingly woke up in Ye Sui's arms. His arms were strong, encircling her so tightly she couldn't pull away. As she moved, she saw an exquisite gold ring on the ring finger of her right hand, and Ye Sui had a matching one on his left.
Li Pushu held up her hand, letting the midday sunlight filter through the curtains to see the ring sparkled, its design unique.
Her mood lifted a lot. She loved shiny gold, and of course, she also liked other things like jade, diamonds, and emeralds, but gold was always first!
Every year on her birthday, Ye Sui would give her two pure gold bars from the bank—fifty grams each, so a total of one hundred grams.
As for other holidays, he'd also give her beautiful jewelry, flowers, handbags, and so on. Of course, he'd definitely transfer money, and when they had time, they would travel.
Thinking this way, Li Pushu couldn't find a reason to break up anymore. This made her a bit troubled. Well, she just didn't have that big river-view villa—she loved big villas with a river view! River-view condos were nice, but you were still stuck looking from inside a building!
"Shushu, let's sleep a little longer." Ye Sui had woken up too, but he didn't open his eyes; he buried his face in her shoulder and neck, savoring the intimacy. It was truly blissful to wake up with his beloved every day.
Li Pushu pushed him away and said crossly, even kicking him under the covers, "What sleep? Don't you have any idea how long you messed around last night? Go make breakfast!"
You could say they were perfectly matched. Her personality was exactly what Ye Sui loved to death, and Li Pushu was very fond of Ye Sui in that area too. Damn it, thinking about it would only hinder their breakup.
Ye Sui chuckled softly. His broad, warm hand pressed against Li Pushu's flat belly. "Now you know you're hungry? Who was it that said last night they were about to burst?"
"Ye Sui!" Li Pushu blushed furiously, grabbed a pillow, and threw it at him. Ye Sui caught it, bent down to kiss her cheek, then got out of bed, completely naked, and went to find clothes. His back was covered in overlapping old and new scratch marks, creating an air of intimacy as he moved.
Ye Sui was very satisfied with this; he even hated to see the marks fade. He said they were proof of their love.
"Shushu, what do you want to wear today? Let me help you change." Ye Sui was very enthusiastic about this perk.
"Scram!" Li Pushu rolled her eyes, giving him only one word.
"Alright, call me if you need help." Ye Sui sounded a bit regretful, but he didn't dare provoke her further.
Once Ye Sui was in the kitchen, Li Pushu got up to wash up. After the long battle, she was really hungry.
While waiting to be fed, she put on a face mask, sat cross-legged on the living room sofa, scrolled through her phone, and secretly bought a ticket. When she heard footsteps, she guiltily looked up, but seeing that he wasn't coming, she breathed a sigh of relief.
After lunch, Li Pushu was still thinking of ways to get him out of the house when Ye Sui spoke first. "Shushu, I have something to do this afternoon. You take a nap first. Let me know what you want to eat, and I'll bring it back. Since we slept late last night, you'll be tired if you don't catch up on sleep."
"Of course I need to catch up on sleep, and it's all your fault." Li Pushu rubbed her sore waist. She had been eating too well lately, and with all the extra energy, she felt like she was getting kidney deficiency and needed rest.
She crossed her arms and gave him a sharp look, interrogating, "What are you going to do? You're being so vague—could it be some secret you don't want me to know?"
"I have a new idea for making money, but to put it into practice, I need a helper. I'm discussing it with my roommate; you've met him. And I guarantee there are no girls involved." Ye Sui wasn't satisfied with the status quo either. He wanted to create better conditions to ensure their future happiness and keep Shushu's quality of life from declining.
"Alright, go ahead." Li Pushu secretly rejoiced inside. If he was going to have a meeting, it would take a long time, and he probably wouldn't check his phone during it. Perfect.
Ye Sui didn't understand what she was planning. He bent down to kiss her forehead gently and said tenderly, "Shushu, be good. I'll go now. If you're bored, go shopping or watch TV."
"I know, I'm not a three-year-old! Just go already!" Li Pushu couldn't wait for him to leave.
Ye Sui smiled, too absorbed in the fact that Shushu had taken the initiative to ask about his plans to notice her eagerness. Checking the agreed time, he reluctantly left, knowing that being late wasn't a good habit.
As soon as he was gone, Li Pushu immediately changed her ticket, let out an excited yell, and scurried back to the room to pack her luggage.
Before leaving, she first confirmed that Ye Sui had already met up with his roommate. Li Pushu cheered inwardly, cheerfully pulled her suitcase out, called a cab, and headed straight for the airport.
As the saying goes, hesitation leads to defeat. Since she said she wanted to break up, she had to act immediately!
.
At 5:30 PM, Ye Sui returned home. He scrolled through his phone; it had been three hours without any message from Li Pushu. Maybe she was sleeping? Still, he should ask.
Just as he was about to send a message, the last new message popped up: "We're broken up." Ye Sui's heart sank. When he tried to reply, he only saw an exclamation mark!
Ye Sui rushed home as fast as he could. The apartment was empty. Many of her clothes were missing from the wardrobe, and her favorite jewelry was gone too, except for the diamond shell necklace she had left for him.
He picked it up; it felt cold to the touch, but not as cold as the pain in his heart. Ye Sui clutched the necklace tightly, his eyes red with anger, his face dark and menacing. "Shushu, Li Pushu! Fine, just fine! You fooled me and ran away!"
The tip of the necklace accidentally cut Ye Sui's palm, and blood dripped onto the diamond, which flashed with a red light, turning the crystal diamond red.
Ye Sui took a step to go after her, but suddenly his vision went black, and he collapsed, disappearing from the spot.
When he woke up, he was in a strange and magical place. Ye Sui looked around warily as a flood of memories poured into his mind, giving him an understanding of this space.
It turned out that this was a small relic left over from ancient times, surviving for countless billions of years, and was later excavated and mistaken for a diamond, made into a necklace.
Although there were no cultivation techniques left, he could learn some ancient martial arts, making him invincible in the modern ordinary world. There was also the spiritual spring water that could cleanse the marrow and purify the body, curing illnesses and prolonging life. It was very flexible, and the mountains were covered with medicinal herbs and spiritual objects.
Moreover, the flow of time here was different from the outside. One hour outside was one day here.
The spiritual spring space had recognized him as its master. If he perished, the space would disappear, and it was entirely under his control.
Ye Sui was shocked for the first time. He never thought such mystical things existed in the world, and that it had happened to him. But after a few seconds of surprise, he fully accepted it. This was a good thing, wasn't it? It would make his efforts twice as effective and help him find his Shushu.
For his first time bonding with the spiritual spring space, Ye Sui explored it thoroughly and learned how to control it. Almost at his will—for example, if he wanted a spiritual peach from the mountain, it would appear in his hand with a thought.
Ye Sui looked through the ancient texts on the shelf and learned how to use the spiritual spring water most effectively. He didn't hesitate to drink it. The process was painful, but the result was gratifying.
He expelled a lot of black impurities, his body felt much lighter, and it was filled with surging power.
Ye Sui stayed in the space for two days, which was only two hours outside. He had already learned how to control the spiritual objects and trained them skillfully to serve him.
When he came out, he brought with him a spiritual bird that could fly tens of thousands of miles. Its eyes were very human-like.
"This is your mistress's scent. Remember it and find her." Ye Sui let it sniff the clothes Li Pushu had worn. The wardrobe was huge, and the suitcase was small; even if she wanted to take everything, she couldn't.
The bird nodded its head, spread its wings, and flew out from the balcony, moving so fast it was like a leaf blown by the wind, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Ye Sui looked into the distance of the sky, his eyes dark and devoid of light, as if muttering like a demon.
"Shushu, when I find you, you won't be able to go anywhere. You'll have to stay by my side, forever."
When the plane landed, Li Pushu felt a chill run down her spine, as if something terrible was watching her. But when she turned around and looked left and right, there was no suspicious person. It must be because she was in a new place.
.
She had come to a coastal city. She had already booked a hotel. After sleeping, she opened the curtains at night and looked out at the sea view. She stretched comfortably.
Except for the fact that she was a bit unaccustomed to not having someone beside her when she slept, and no one to take photos, and no one to arrange her entire itinerary... Well, Li Pushu admitted that there were many things she wasn't used to. Her happy mood dampened a bit. Gazing at the sunset over the sea, she propped her chin on her hand, lost in thought.
At first, she didn't think much of it, but when she was alone and quiet, images of Ye Sui and all their moments together flooded her mind.
Just then, a foreigner approached with clumsy Chinese: "Hello, can I buy you a coffee?"
Li Pushu turned to look. The man was tall and handsome, dressed casually but with mature charm. He had golden hair and deep, sparkling green eyes, smiling as he tried to strike up a conversation.
She knew a thing or two about these things. She could tell that this foreigner was wealthy, at least a successful businessman, with the gentlemanly demeanor of a well-educated person.
"Sure," Li Pushu didn't refuse. Since arriving, she had been approached by groups of men every day trying to chat her up, but this guy's looks, physique, and manner of speaking were quite appealing. The ones who looked good often spoke in a sleazy way.
However, when alone outside, Li Pushu wouldn't relax like she did in front of Ye Sui. She wouldn't lose her temper at them; she just stayed cold and aloof, keeping her distance.
Life is stressful nowadays, and people's mental health is all kinds of unstable. If she accidentally hits a nerve, they might pull a knife and stab her in a fit of rage—Li Pushu really values her own skin. When you're out solo, better to keep your head down.
He was thrilled she agreed. "My name is Anders. What's the name of a beautiful lady like you?"
"Li Pushu."
The two chatted pleasantly. Li Pushu was solid at foreign languages, and she'd read tons of English books to get better, so their conversation covered a wide range of topics, and they had no trouble keeping the conversation going.
But it was getting late. Li Pushu didn't exchange contact information and returned to her hotel, leaving Anders a bit bummed but still happy to have made the acquaintance of an Eastern angel.
He had arrived yesterday and immediately noticed the beautiful Li Pushu. Seeing that she was traveling alone, sometimes looking spaced out, but wearing a ring on her finger, Anders guessed that she might be having trouble in love or marriage, torn over whether to call it quits.
Anders knew this feeling well. He'd had a few flings back in the day, and an arranged marriage that was going sour and about to end. Divorce was already in the works, though the business entanglements were troublesome, but it didn't matter—he was practically single now.
Dwelling on the past sucks. He was willing to pull this beautiful Eastern angel out of her unhappy relationship. He promised he would take good care of her.
Yes, it was love at first sight. Cupid's arrow had finally struck him, and the long-lost butterflies in his stomach made him look like a young man pursuing his sweetheart.
But by the next day, when Anders wanted to meet the Eastern angel again, he couldn't find her. When he asked at the hotel, she had checked out early in the morning and left.
Anders was stunned. A mature man of thirty, he felt like he'd lost a treasure—totally crushed. He thought that this infatuation would become a beautiful memory for him.
.
Li Pushu had no idea she'd become some foreigner's crush. Not to mention whether she was interested, but a married foreigner daring to hit on her? What a joke, a frog trying to eat a swan!
Anders was long forgotten. Li Pushu's flight this time was to visit the orphanage where she grew up.
A five-hour flight isn't a long journey, but she had gotten up too early this morning, and she dozed off, leaning against her seat.
However, when Li Pushu opened her eyes, she found herself in a place with picturesque scenery and fresh air—breathing it in felt like inhaling immortal vapor, so comfortable. Wait, why did this breath feel just like real life?
She was shocked. Had the plane crashed while she was asleep? But how could she not have felt anything at all!
"Shushu... Shushu!" First confusion, then certainty—a tone of joyful surprise.
Hearing the familiar voice, Li Pushu turned around and saw Ye Sui standing behind her, a sinister smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
Li Pushu was baffled. "Ye Sui, aren't you in Jiangdong? How did you get here? And what the hell is this place? Have we been kidnapped?"
"Shushu, welcome to my world."
Ye Sui spread his arms and smiled. The next second, Li Pushu fell into his embrace, trembling violently in fear.
