064 She Wants to Get an Abortion

After returning from the holiday, Gu Pushu threw herself back into her busy work and once again became the notorious female tyrant in her department.

But she often had a dream at night—someone whose face she couldn’t see would visit her dreams every day, sometimes appearing as a giant snake, entwining with her and doing all sorts of passionate things.

Waking up the next day, Gu Pushu couldn’t help feeling a bit embarrassed. Could it be that she had reached an age where she really needed a man to regulate her hormones? But she didn’t want one.

Maybe it knew she had the next day off, so that night’s dream dragged on until dawn. She experienced a sweaty, wild affair in her dream before being coaxed to sleep.

She didn’t wake until noon. Her friend Jiang Feng brought over a box of seafood, saying it was a gift from a client and she couldn’t finish it all by herself. Since they both had the day off, they decided to eat together.

Gu Pushu had grown used to these dreams. After all, they were only known to her, so as long as she didn’t tell anyone, it was fine. Besides, she had a rosy complexion and slept well.

Compared to the hassle of finding a real man who might give her gynecological problems, she would rather opt for an erotic dream.

They decided to cook at her place around noon. After freshening up, Gu Pushu put on her loungewear and opened the door, letting the three of them in.

Her cooking skills were mediocre, but Jiang Feng, a hotel manager, was decent at it. She took over the kitchen while the others helped with prep.

“…Why are you all staring at me like that?” Gu Pushu, wearing gloves and washing crayfish, noticed the three of them scrutinizing her face. She felt a bit creeped out, and asked in confusion.

“Shushu, are you secretly dating someone?” Zhang Jiayi leaned in for a closer look and drew her conclusion.

Gu Pushu’s face was glowing, with a seductive look between her brows, as if she had been thoroughly satisfied by a man with serious stamina.

Men might not be worth keeping in mind, but if you bumped into a high-quality one, they could occasionally be a top-notch beauty boost.

Gu Pushu had changed. Since she came back from the beach, she wasn’t as domineering and irritable as before. When employees made mistakes at work, she could even refrain from yelling.

She hadn’t noticed the change herself, but those around her had. Her fiery temper had mellowed. Whoever the man was, he must be impressive.

“Boyfriend? Ridiculous. How could such a creature exist in my life?” Gu Pushu scoffed. There was no way she would date someone—it would interfere with her career.

“I’m naturally beautiful. And with the backlog of work settled, a new contract signed, and my dividends after the project closes will be enough to buy a house, I’m in a good mood. Naturally, I look better. Don’t jump to conclusions.”

Gu Pushu felt proud. Her work ability had always been commendable. Otherwise, given her explosive temper, her subordinates wouldn’t still respect her and loyally follow her in building the business.

When she got angry, it was about the work itself. If someone did a bad job and didn’t take criticism, they might as well go back home and nurse on mother’s milk.

In the professional world, you had to learn to face the pressures of work. If you wanted a promotion and a raise, you didn’t necessarily need to sweet-talk, but you had to show real ability. Flattery was useless under her; without competence, even the sweetest praise was all bullshit.

“Really no boyfriend? That doesn’t seem right. Your state doesn’t match someone without one. Are you secretly dating someone?” Nan Rong could also tell. She had been in a few relationships—not exactly experienced, but she had an eye for these things.

Gu Pushu rolled her eyes. “Why would I lie to you? If I really had one, I’d treat you all to a big meal. Besides, there aren’t many good men out there.”

That was their rule—if any of them got a boyfriend, the others, acting as her family, would have to be formally introduced.

Fortunately, none of the four were hopeless romantics. They prioritized career over men, and if one didn’t work out, they’d move on to the next.

“She’s either at the office or at home working overtime. I doubt she has time for a boyfriend,” Jiang Feng said, knowing Gu Pushu’s daily schedule well.

In fact, since she was a workaholic, there was no need to ask what she was doing. If she couldn’t be found, she was on a business trip.

“I don’t want to waste time on boring stuff like that. Dating means spending time dressing up, sending messages every day to maintain a superficial relationship, and worrying about various disagreements and conflicts. It’s annoying.”

Gu Pushu had always refused. She barely had enough time to enrich her own life; giving any of it to a man was absolutely out of the question.

“…That actually makes a lot of sense,” Zhang Jiayi nodded in agreement. “Every time I go on a date, only about sixty percent is enjoyable, and the remaining forty percent is unpleasant.”

“And dressing up is a hassle. Once, I went to the movies with a date. I dressed to the nines, but he showed up in casual clothes. He didn’t match my makeup and styling—it ruined my mood.”

“If we keep this up, we’ll all get sidetracked.”

“It’s not misleading; it’s the truth.”

    Gu Pushu smirked.

They chatted for a bit, and soon the kitchen was filled with aroma. The seafood feast was delicious, and they ate happily.

Gu Pushu usually didn’t eat much meat. She kept her intake low and relied on other nourishing foods. But recently, for some reason, she craved meat. She didn’t like vegetables; whenever she saw meat, she would salivate, her eyes would light up, and her appetite would be enormous.

They were all busy with their own careers, only getting together when free. This was the first time since the beach trip that the four of them had gathered, so they hadn’t known about Gu Pushu’s changed tastes. Now they saw it and were shocked.

“…Shushu, since when did you become such a carnivore?” Jiang Feng exclaimed. Today, Gu Pushu had eaten the most and still wasn’t full, so she fried a piece of beef.

Only after finishing the generous portion of beef did she set down her knife and fork with satisfaction, serving herself a post-meal dessert.

Ah, satisfied. If Gu Pushu didn’t eat until she was full, her body would send intense hunger signals, causing her to stuff whatever she could find into her mouth.

“If you eat that much meat, you’ll need a lot of exercise to burn those calories,” Nan Rong said, mindful of her figure and not daring to eat too much fatty food, as excessive oil would make her skin greasy and rough.

“Did I eat that much?” Gu Pushu was taken aback. She hadn’t noticed. She patted her belly. “It didn’t seem like much—only eighty percent full. But eating too much at once isn’t good. If I get hungry later, I can just eat more.”

The three were stunned by her statement. That wasn’t enough? Her single meal’s portion could rival their entire day’s worth.

“When you use your brain, it drains your energy the fastest. You can get hungry within half an hour,” Zhang Jiayi said, pouring a glass of water. “But eating too much when you’re hungry from overwork can easily lead to stress-related weight gain.”

Gu Pushu didn’t see it as a problem because she really wasn’t full, and her energy burned quickly. She wanted to eat; if she didn’t, she’d get strong cravings.

“It’s probably just because I’ve been so busy,” she said, not thinking of any other reason. Her latest physical exam from last month was healthy. “I’ll take a few days off to rest after I finish this busy period.”

She wasn’t a child and was very disciplined, so Jiang Feng and the others dropped the subject.

After chatting for a while, they noticed Gu Pushu yawning frequently and getting drowsy, so they got up to go home.

Gu Pushu saw them out, then sleepily shuffled back to the bedroom. She fell asleep almost as soon as she hit the pillow.

But she didn’t notice the little green snake coiled among the leaves of her balcony plant, blending in perfectly.

It blinked its tiny black eyes, slithered down, and crept along hidden corners into the living room, knowing humans had cameras.

Seeing the chips on the coffee table, it stealthily used its tail to scoop a few pieces and brought them back to the vase to eat. Crunchy and delicious—it loved them!

Every day, protecting its mistress was its daily routine, though it regretted not daring to sneak too many snacks.

Gu Pushu slept through the afternoon and didn’t wake until dusk, her mind still hazy.

She had a dream. She couldn’t see clearly, but two little snakes appeared in her palm—one black and one red. She was scared stiff and shook them off.

The next second, she heard sharp crying—a baby wailing, crying pitifully.

Annoyed, Gu Pushu couldn’t fall back asleep. Her head was still groggy, and she was hungry. She got up to find food, and only after eating most of her pantry stash did she feel better.

She also felt that she had eaten too much today, though she wasn't full yet, she restrained herself and just drank water.

In the evening, they didn't eat together. The others went on dates, leaving her as the only single person, enjoying the leisure and peace—life without men causing trouble was quite comfortable.

Gu Pushu opened her computer and handled some work for a while. By nine o'clock, she was very hungry and couldn't resist making a bowl of noodles. Without realizing it, she ate more than two bowls.

Among them were greens, eggs, and ham sausage. She especially loved the eggs, eating two fried eggs, but her stomach still wasn't satisfied, so she forced herself to stop.

"...So sleepy." Gu Pushu wanted to do some yoga after reading for a while, but she was too sleepy. She took a shower and went straight to bed.

In her dream, the indistinct figure came to hold her again. Gu Pushu was too drowsy to open her eyes.

"Stop it. I'm so sleepy, I need to sleep." She turned over and fell back into a deep sleep. Yin Zhu was startled.

He turned Gu Pushu over and held her face-to-face, moving carefully so as not to wake her.

"...No wonder." Yin Zhu pressed his palm against Gu Pushu's abdomen, sensing two faint sources of energy.

Xiao Lv had reported Gu Pushu's lifestyle changes in the past few days, and he had already suspected this. Now that it was confirmed, he was both thrilled and worried.

How would she react when she found out?

Yin Zhu looked at the sleeping woman in his arms, his eyes dark and unfathomable. Seeing her begin to stir from hunger, he poured spiritual energy into her abdomen, and she fell back into deep sleep.

"Be quiet. Don’t cause trouble. Your mother is weak and can't handle your antics." Yin Zhu stared at her still-flat belly and whispered a warning.

He needed to speed up his plans. He really couldn't trust Gu Pushu to take care of herself—something was bound to go wrong.

    .

Gu Pushu had no idea any of this was happening. She continued eating a lot every day, but she seemed to be eating a little less.

Ever since she stopped being pestered in her dreams one night, she woke up the next morning feeling completely light and refreshed.

She had signed the project herself, so she didn’t want anyone else to take credit for it.

However, after a week of busy work, she suddenly developed a sharp stomachache. At first, she thought it was gastroenteritis, but medicine didn’t help, and meat now tasted fishy to her, causing her to throw it all up.

    Then came fatigue and drowsiness.

"...Shushu, you look like you're pregnant," Jiang Feng and the others said with worried looks.

Gu Pushu felt as if she'd been struck by lightning. "Preg... pregnant?"

Memories of the seaside from over half a month ago flooded back—she had been intimate with a giant sea snake monster under the ocean for a long time, and there had been no precautions.

"No... it can't be..." Gu Pushu took a deep breath, but her stomach still ached. Suppressing her fear, she looked at Zhang Jiayi and said, "Jiayi, I remember your aunt is an obstetrician. Can you do me a favor?"

    .

Gu Pushu waited anxiously at the hospital. Thanks to Zhang Jiayi's help, only the three of them knew about this.

The test results came out. The answer was obvious: Gu Pushu was three weeks pregnant, and the ultrasound showed two small dark spots—she was carrying twins.

"...Shushu, you're going to be a mother?" Zhang Jiayi and the others worried that Gu Pushu couldn't handle it, so they accompanied her.

Hearing the news, they were not only shocked and surprised but also curious—Shushu didn't even have a boyfriend, so how could she be pregnant? Even the Virgin Mary got pregnant without a man, and she was a foreigner!

Gu Pushu's face turned pale. She stared at the report, her hands trembling. No one knew the truth better than she did: she was carrying a monster's children, not a human's.

"Dr. Luo, I want to have an abortion."

She closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, her look was resolute.

    .

At home, Xiao Lv was thrilled to learn that the mistress was carrying the king's children—the next heirs, Ah! He would get to witness the birth of the little masters!

He knew humans were fragile, and accidents like things falling from windows or car crashes could happen outside, so he immediately followed to the hospital.

Xiao Lv had some cultivation, but rarely used it. The hospital had plenty of greenery, so he climbed a tree and hid by the window, eavesdropping.

When he heard the mistress say she wanted to abort the two little masters, his bean-like eyes went wide, and he fell straight down, stiff as a green stick.

    Oh no, oh no!

Xiao Lv zoomed off at top speed, then stopped, summoning a subordinate to report the news to the king.

He stayed guard at the hospital, ready to stop the mistress at the first opportunity.
