Chapter 009: A Lifetime of Deception
byChapter 009: A Lifetime of Deception
Granny Li was a very meticulous person. Seeing the subtle change in Li Pushu's expression and noticing Meng Ci lagging a few steps behind, she knew something had happened. She smiled and said, "It's getting late. This child just came back today and needs to rest well. Let's chat another day."
She stood up, carrying her small stool and fruit plate. Li Pushu helped her up, greeted the elders, and they went upstairs. Their departure naturally became a topic of conversation, with more talk about Li Pushu's boyfriend. Grandma Meng did not speak anymore.
Back home, Granny Li asked, "What happened between you and Meng Ci? Did he bully you?"
She was experienced and had looked after many children. She knew that some girls, if bullied, were too scared to speak up. She worried Li Pushu might be like that.
"Grandma, he didn't bully me. He just asked if I wanted to know who my biological parents are."
Li Pushu didn't hide it. Curiously, she asked, "Grandma, when you first brought me back, did you find anything on me, like a necklace or bracelet, like in TV dramas?"
As for birthmarks, there definitely weren't any. Not to mention that Granny Li bathed her as a baby, but now that she was with Ye Sui, if there were any, he would have seen them, given his habit of leaving marks all over her body.
"No, there was nothing. Back then, you were wrapped in a swaddling cloth that wasn't good material—just ordinary fabric, and it looked a bit dirty." Granny Li shook her head, remembering clearly. "I still have that swaddling cloth at home. Let me get it for you to see."
She went to her room, unlocked a wooden trunk with a key. Back in those days, elderly people liked to hide their valuables in such trunks. Granny Li was no different.
"Here, take a look. This is it. I washed it and kept it, thinking if you ever asked when you grew up, I'd give it to you." Granny Li handed it to her. She always kept the clothes of the children she picked up, but she had almost never seen any items left with them.
Li Pushu looked at it. It was indeed very ordinary—just common household fabric, not even new, but used by someone before and passed down. There were some mold spots on the cloth.
But judging by Meng Ci's attitude, her biological family must be very wealthy. Li Pushu was certain of that.
Because she also loved money! She understood the motive behind such an action. If there was no money to gain, why would Meng Ci kindly do something so uncertain? He wasn't a warm-hearted person.
"Grandma, if Meng Ci or his grandparents come to ask about me, just say that's how I was when you found me—nothing else, nothing more, you don't know anything else."
Li Pushu paused, then continued, "If they try to play the emotional card and pressure me into finding my biological parents, just say that my thoughts and decisions are my own, and you have no say in it."
"If they come and say anything to you, just tell me."
She didn't think Meng Ci could do much directly; he would use other methods to find out. But it was better to be safe.
"Alright, Grandma knows what to say and what not to say." Granny Li nodded, looking at Li Pushu. "Pushu, don't you really want to find them?"
Li Pushu shook her head. "Grandma, it's pointless. Besides, we don't know if what Meng Ci said is true or false. Anyway, don't overthink it. I'll handle it."
That man is so annoying. Although she didn't care about the so-called biological parents, if they were indeed wealthy, Meng Ci wouldn't give up just because of a few words from her.
And she didn't know what leverage Meng Ci had. She had clearly shown her dislike, yet he still wanted to help? Wasn't he worried she would take revenge on him if she returned? She should have cursed him out more.
"Grandma isn't worried. I just want you to live well. Whatever choice you make, Grandma supports you."
Granny Li was open-minded. Her child was grown up and had graduated from university, no longer needing care. She had sound judgment and now had a partner. What was there to worry about?
If Li Pushu were still a child, she might have worried about her being bullied if she returned home, because a family that abandoned a daughter likely had other children.
"Don't worry. When Ye Sui comes in two days, I'll have him put a sack over Meng Ci's head and give him a beating to vent my anger." Li Pushu said smugly.
This child really... Granny Li patted her arm with a smile. "What kind of crazy idea is that? What if you get caught? Let's just ignore him."
"I know, Grandma."
Li Pushu chatted with her for a while. Granny Li was old and tended to sleep early, though she also woke up very early every day.
Li Pushu returned to her room, about to get clothes for a bath and wash her hair, when she suddenly felt a pull and disappeared from where she was, reappearing in a familiar space and embrace.
"Shushu, I missed you so, so much. A whole day—I waited a whole day." Ye Sui clung to her like an addict, not letting go, breathing in her scent to calm himself.
He kissed her earlobe, soft and fleshy, which he especially loved, then moved to her cheek, the signal of desire strong. His eyes were deep and clingy. "I want Shushu..."
"...Ye Sui, act normal. You're like a pervert." Li Pushu got goosebumps. He was hugging her too tightly; she was already hanging on him.
Li Pushu pressed down on his restless hands, her face flushed, her charming eyes glaring angrily. "I have serious things to say! Let go of me, you pervert!"
"Shushu, you talk. I'm listening. It won't get in the way." Ye Sui picked her up and, with a thought, brought them to the spiritual spring. In a few moves, he stripped them both and stepped into the water.
The water wasn't deep. By the shore, there were cool, smooth jade stones that felt nice against the skin. As they touched her, Li Pushu shivered and pressed closer into Ye Sui's arms. He gave a sly grin and held her in his strong arms.
"So Shushu likes this position. No problem, whatever position Shushu likes, I can satisfy you." Ye Sui lowered his head and kissed her, only to get pinched on the waist.
It didn't hurt; it just tickled. Of course, he felt even more excited. It was no different from flirting. Ye Sui loved it. The water rippled in waves as they held each other tightly, both letting out a satisfied sigh.
"Shushu, baby, I love you." Ye Sui was eager, his long fingers gripping the soft flesh of her fair thigh, his eyes blazing with madness.
The calm surface of the spiritual spring erupted into turbulent waves, crashing repeatedly against the jade shore.
"You... go easy..." Li Pushu was startled by his reckless thrust, almost losing her breath.
After a few seconds of adaptation, Li Pushu angrily bit his Adam's apple. "How did you become like this! Are there any pants in the mall that fit you?"
She was both flushed and oddly focused. Suddenly she remembered on the plane when Ye Sui said he'd let her check, but she hadn't looked.
Now experiencing the change firsthand, it didn't seem humanly possible.
Li Pushu almost couldn't speak. Her red lips parted, letting out a moan that excited Ye Sui even more. The corners of his eyes reddened as he thrust deeply into his haven of tenderness.
"If not, I'll have them custom-made in a style Shushu likes. You can do it, baby. Take a bit more..."
Ye Sui missed her so much, and his longing was made clear through his actions.
"Ye Sui..." Li Pushu thought her endurance had reached its limit, but greedy desire was not so limited.
On the contrary, they were perfectly matched, able to adapt to any position. Their passion never waned.
Outside, only an hour had passed, but inside, a whole day had gone by. After the purification, Ye Sui's stamina was too strong. She felt like she was coming apart at the seams.
Li Pushu collapsed weakly on Ye Sui's chest. They lay quietly in each other's arms, not speaking, just enjoying the warmth of each other's bodies.
"You... pull out..." Li Pushu was too tired to move a single finger. Her voice was hoarse and soft, like she was acting spoiled. Ye Sui smiled and kissed her nose.
"That won't do, Shushu. I found a way to let you share the space." Ye Sui sat up, holding her in his arms, admiring the marks on her body.
Hearing this, Li Pushu perked up. Her eyes sparkled as she urged, "Don't keep me in suspense. What's the method?"
"The method is..." Ye Sui grinned mischievously, lowered his head, and whispered in her ear.
"..." Li Pushu was first stunned. Was the creator of this space a pervert? Forty-nine days...
Of course, the passage of time was different. Outside, it would be two days... At least they had to go back to the home in Jiangdong. It wasn't convenient here. If she vanished for two days, Granny Li would be worried to death.
The next second, Li Pushu crossed her arms, very suspicious that he was pulling her leg. "Ye Sui, you're lying to me."
"How could I? I'm not lying. This is the only method. I've gone through all the ancient texts." Ye Sui said sincerely. He had no reason to lie to her.
"Hmph, so it turns out they all recognize you as master—you're all perverts." Li Pushu was still feeling awkward. This was way too long, wasn't it?
Even though she could enjoy it, having too much of a good thing gets tiring too!
"Shushu, that's unfair to say. I'm only perverted for you. So it's not being a pervert—it's love." Ye Sui pinched her cheek, correcting her mistake.
He loved her so much that sometimes he needed this way to feel her presence. Only when she truly belonged to him could he have a sliver of security.
Li Pushu curled the corners of her mouth, but then she huffed angrily. "Fine, but it's not like this just started today. You've already 'delivered the goods,' so why don't you leave already?! You stubborn brat!"
She pushed against his chest with her hands, trying to leave, but Ye Sui's arm hooked around her, and they fell sideways into an embrace. Li Pushu let out a soft moan as she was filled again.
"Shushu, we haven't seen each other for days. Have pity on your little guy—it's dying of thirst and needs you to save it." Ye Sui intertwined his fingers with hers and kissed her everywhere.
Li Pushu rolled her eyes, but she was a sucker for his sweet-talking. She slapped his arm and said, "Don't go changing size on me, or get out of here."
It was obvious. She wasn't a block of wood—in fact, she'd gotten even more sensitive, as if she were naturally in sync with Ye Sui.
"...Alright, I'll try." Ye Sui looked at her with pitiful eyes, his increasingly handsome face utterly charming.
He rubbed his cheek against Li Pushu's like a little puppy and said gently, "How's everything at home, Shushu? Is Grandma in good health? When I get there, let's take her for a full checkup so we can really be at ease."
Ye Sui couldn't stop worrying about Li Pushu, always afraid that when she was away from him, she might suffer or get hurt.
"Grandma is fine, no worries. But today, a man named Meng Ci suddenly told me he knows who my biological parents are."
Li Pushu didn't intend to hide anything; she was the type to speak up when something happened. "I feel like he has bad intentions toward me."
Meng Ci, a man. Ye Sui's eyes turned cold. He gently stroked Li Pushu's back over and over. "Don't worry, I've got you. I'll have a friend check out his background and find out what this whole thing about your biological parents is."
He hadn't seen the man, but just from what Shushu said—that he said that the first time he saw her—this person was both insidious and overly arrogant, not hard to deal with.
"You have a friend capable of that?" Li Pushu asked in surprise.
Ye Sui said, "I just made his acquaintance today. While I was out on business, I ran into a car accident and saved his grandfather. This man's surname is Zhao, and his family has deep red connections. It's easy to check someone out."
"Whatever he said to you, don't engage or let it affect you. Once I get there, I'll talk to him."
Ye Sui understood that Li Pushu wouldn't be taken advantage of. This Meng Ci was far too arrogant, coming to Shushu with such nonsense; she probably chewed him out.
But he was still worried that Li Pushu might be upset by Meng Ci's words, even if the possibility was slim.
Li Pushu was shocked. Could it really be that simple to get to know people of that class? She felt like Ye Sui was living a charmed life—his luck was off the charts!
"Ye Sui, tell me the truth. Are you hiding your real identity? Are you actually the main character in those feel-good short dramas with cheats and a luck aura?!"
Li Pushu flipped over to sit on his abdomen, stroking her chin, her imagination going wild. "If that's the case, I'd definitely be the mean ex-girlfriend who dumped you. Then, after you make a comeback, I'd be severely retaliated against!"
"No, no, that ex-girlfriend of mine would be temperamental, gold-digging, and vain. After thoroughly humiliating you, I'd run off with a rich second-generation guy. You'd be heartbroken and never trust love again. There are two possibilities: either a lively, sunny female lead appears to heal your soul, or you meet all kinds of beauties and live a life of luxury with women on both arms." She was getting more and more excited.
Li Pushu moved excitedly and felt that thing rapidly change, like a balloon being pumped up. She immediately blinked obediently and dared not squirm anymore. How annoying—it had gotten lively again so quickly!
Ye Sui: "..." He really had to hand it to her—her imagination was something else.
Every day on her phone, she loved watching those bizarre short dramas: generals returning with 100,000 men to find their daughter in a doghouse, or a tender wife giving birth to septuplets and running off with the babies while CEO was busy, or a white moonlight who wanted to take a kidney—she runs, he chases, she can't escape.
Ye Sui held her slender waist. "If I were the male lead, you would be my only female lead."
"The little thief who stole my heart—once I catch you, your punishment is to keep fooling me forever. Or else..."
Ye Sui effortlessly switched positions, trapping her beneath him with nowhere to go, and possessed her again. His arms braced on either side of her, he lowered his head to kiss her deeply, their gaze intertwined. "Like this, trapping you here until the end of time, unable to go anywhere."
Li Pushu let out a blissful moan. Her curled toes brushed against his cheek. Her eyes rippled with temptation like spring water as she chided, "Ye Sui, you have no artistic sense. This is called plot, plot, understand?"
"I don't understand." Ye Sui chuckled, sliding his arm under her armpit and lifting her up by her back. "All I know is that only I can write the ending for us."
And that ending, no matter how I wrote it, would be only one: they would be together forever.
She loved money—that was fine. He would earn a lot of money. That meant she loved him, didn't it?
"Ye Sui, I never noticed, but you're really domineering."
Li Pushu smiled seductively, like a temptress. She licked the corner of his lips. "But, I like this domineering side of you."
Those words of liking made Ye Sui's eyes instantly brighten, his heart race, and his blood boil.
He completely lost control.
"Let's keep going, Shushu. There's still a lot of new stuff to try."
"You bastard, Ye Sui!"
