Chapter 013: Rich Lady, I’m Hungry!
byChapter 013: Rich Lady, I'm Hungry!
They got back to their place in Jiangdong in the afternoon.
Li Pushu headed straight for the guest room and saw that everything she had bought on June 18 had arrived, and Ye Sui had also bought everything in her shopping cart.
She liked to wait until everything arrived before opening them all together; opening packages was pure joy.
Ye Sui slid an arm around her waist and pulled her into the room before she could react. “Open them after you wake up. You need to sleep now. Weren’t you just complaining this morning that you missed your beauty sleep?”
“Ye Sui, that’s just an excuse! Everyone can see through that excuse!” Li Pushu sensed trouble and tried to escape in a panic. If this kept up for forty-nine days straight, she’d be completely worn out!
Unfortunately, she was still pulled into the space by Ye Sui. In the blink of an eye, they were soaking in the spirit spring.
“Shushu, bear with it. If it hurts too much, bite me.” Ye Sui fed her the spiritual water for cleansing the meridians and marrow. He had been through this pain before and knew how hard it was.
Li Pushu was actually looking forward to it. She drank it, and it tasted sweet. “Any more? Give me another sip.”
Ye Sui was surprised. He noticed that no impurities were being expelled from Li Pushu’s body; it was clean and fresh.
“There’s a bit more. Drink slowly.” Seeing Li Pushu finish it all, Ye Sui’s eyelids twitched. What if it reacted too strongly?
But Li Pushu didn’t have much of a reaction. It wasn’t the bone-splitting kind of pain—just a little hot, her body warming up. She rubbed against Ye Sui. “Hurry up and give it to me. Don’t just stand there.”
Ye Sui wanted to check on her condition, but she pushed him, and his back hit the cool stone. He sat down, the water reaching his waist before it rippled violently.
He quickly steadied Li Pushu’s waist to keep her from falling. Urgently, his powerful hips worked in unison, his fingers gently brushing a strand of hair from her cheek, tucking it behind her ear. He said dotingly, “Be careful.”
“You useless thing. It’s better to handle it myself.” Li Pushu sat on him, taking control of the rhythm herself. Her brows were relaxed in satisfaction, her dark hair floating on the rippling water.
She licked her lips, and Ye Sui was stirred by her passionate initiative. He turned the tables and kissed her.
...
For two days, they never separated. God knows how she got through it.
When they finally left the space, Li Pushu rolled around on the bed, wrapped herself in the blanket, and stuck only her head out, staring warily at Ye Sui.
“Don’t come near me! If you do, I’ll bite you to death!” She was wiped out, temporarily out of commission.
This guy had turned into a steel rod. Although she could take it without pain and enjoyed it, too much of it for too long was still exhausting. She ached all over; she could barely move!
Ignoring her struggles, Ye Sui pulled the blanket and rolled her into his arms. Seeing her look of certain doom, he chuckled. “I’m not going to bother you. See if you can get into the space by yourself.”
“Oh, right. I almost forgot about that. It’s all your fault.” For Li Pushu, snuggling into Ye Sui’s arms was as natural as breathing.
She closed her eyes and thought, “Enter the space.” She was in. Then she thought, “Exit the space.” She was out.
Li Pushu repeated this several times. Overjoyed, she burrowed into Ye Sui’s arms, wrapping herself around his strong waist. They were completely naked, pressed together, and she planted a kiss on his cheek, her smile radiant. “This is your reward, my big guy!”
“Then... what about your little guy?” Ye Sui smirked, pressing his forehead to hers, their gazes intertwined.
“Get lost!”
Li Pushu rolled her eyes and gave him just one word.
They fooled around for a while. After Ye Sui had made a delicious meal, he had to go to work. The past few days' work had been handled by the other three, but it wasn’t anything major—just renovations and paperwork. Once those were done, they could officially start.
After he left, Li Pushu lounged on the sofa playing on her phone. She spotted a livestream selling bags where the host looked like Wei Jiaya. Surprised, she sat up, took a screenshot, and sent it to the group chat with an @mention. There was no reply; the stream was still ongoing.
The other two, however, replied quickly. They were almost certain it was Wei Jiaya’s livestream.
They discussed it enthusiastically. Li Pushu finished unpacking all her packages. Around 4:30 PM, Wei Jiaya ended her stream and finally appeared in the group chat: “It’s me. Starting my own business, girls! I’m taking you all out to dinner tonight. I’ll explain everything then.” They decided on a restaurant and picked out the dishes. Li Pushu was fine with anything as long as it wasn’t bad.
They agreed to meet at 5:30 PM. Since they were all in the same area, it was easy to get there.
Li Pushu put away her packages, told Ye Sui where she was going, and got ready to leave.
During the days she was away, Ye Sui had bought two more cars for the garage, all according to her preferences. The keys were with her, and she could drive whichever she liked—it was a surprise for her homecoming. He himself drove a very ordinary car.
Li Pushu drove to pick up Wang Yuqing and Ding Ling. The restaurant was a bit farther away, requiring a walk from the subway station. The two had decided to rent a place together after discussing it, without inviting Li Pushu—she was obviously living with Ye Sui—while Wei Jiaya lived with her boyfriend.
Although they also had boyfriends and had already done the deed, they hadn’t decided to move in together yet. They wanted to see how things went. For now, the priority was work and jobs; relationships could take their course. They didn’t have the time or energy to overthink it.
The two were waiting outside their apartment complex, craning their necks. When they saw a black luxury car stop in front of them, they didn’t react. It wasn’t until Li Pushu honked the horn and rolled down the window that they recognized her. Shocked, they got into the car in a daze.
“Shushu, you’re driving a Rolls-Royce after just a few days?!” Wang Yuqing exclaimed, her heart racing with excitement.
She didn’t know much about cars, but her boyfriend was really into them. After being together for so long, she had picked up a thing or two.
Ding Ling also had a vague idea. “It looks like a Phantom or something. I don’t remember exactly.” She cared even less about cars. She could only recall the logos of a few common brands. Ask her about makeup and bags, and she could rattle them off.
“I think Ye Sui said so.” Li Pushu didn’t pay much attention to this. She just knew that anything Ye Sui gave her was good.
There were three or four cars in the garage, and she chose this one because it matched her mood today.
“Pfft—” Wang Yuqing took a sip of water to calm herself down, almost spitting it out. She swallowed quickly but choked, coughing several times with tears in her eyes. “You’re saying Ye Sui gave this to you?”
Her voice trembled. Ding Ling was also stunned, unable to believe it. “Shushu, we’re not doubting you, but isn’t Ye Sui just an ordinary poor guy? Where did he get the money to buy you a car like this?” Rumor had it that you needed to meet certain qualifications even to purchase one.
Both of them came from middle-class families, with a bit of money. But even the base price of the car alone would cost more than their entire family’s savings.
“I know, it’s fine.” Li Pushu understood why they would have doubts. Anyone would. “A friend of his gave it to him as a thank-you for helping him out. There were several to choose from, but he thought this one was best for me. A sports car wouldn’t be safe.”
Wang Yuqing: “...”
Ding Ling: “...”
They were just one friend like that away from getting rich overnight!
No, no, they already had one now. Stick to Shushu, and they’d be eating well and living well in the future!
“But maintenance and stuff are also really expensive. Wouldn’t it be better to buy a house first with that money?” Wang Yuqing meant it honestly, not trying to dictate how others should live.
She figured that lucky breaks in life were rare. If you had that money, you'd buy a nice house, a decent car, and save the rest for interest. Then Li Pushu could live without worries, with no financial pressure, already better off than most people.
Ding Ling nodded in agreement. “Yeah, Shushu. Having a nest egg means you won’t have to worry about the future and can live well.”
They weren't jealous or being bitchy; they genuinely cared about Li Pushu’s well-being.
Li Pushu and Ye Sui were both orphans with no family support. If they were to start a family in the future, the pressure would be intense. Unlike them, even though they had moved to Jiangdong, their families still gave them money for living expenses. Their salaries just needed to cover their own shopping, so the pressure was minimal.
For regular folks, a house and savings are what really count. Cars were depreciating assets; there was no need to invest too much. As long as it could run and protect you from the elements, it was fine. Not everyone can afford to mess around with cars, watches, and antiques like the rich do.
Li Pushu knew they meant well. Explaining would sound like a humblebrag. “It’s okay. Ye Sui isn’t short on money now. He’s already bought a house, and he discovered a few antiques from his hometown that turned out to be genuine. After being appraised, they were auctioned off for 500 million yuan. After deducting auction fees and taxes, he kept 100 million and put the rest in my account for me to spend.”
Of course, Ye Sui’s original words were that there were too many treasures in the space that he didn't consider valuable. He just needed a reason to sell one to give her some spending money, while also establishing a legitimate source of funds to cover their tracks. But what they saw as junk turned out to be priceless, selling for a sky-high price of 500 million at auction.
These are all procedures that are on record, so there’s no harm in sharing them.
Wang Yuqing: “…”
Ding Ling: “…”
This feeling is as thrilling as a roller coaster ride.
So, in just a few days, their friend had become a billionaire!
“Rich lady, please take us in!” The two pressed their hands over their hearts, blinked their eyes, and spoke in unison.
These days, who needs men? They just want their rich friend!
Li Pushu beamed with a radiant smile. “No big deal. If you can’t find a job, don’t bother. I’ll fund you to start a company for fun.”
After all, she lacked nothing. When Ye Sui was busy, she got bored, so finding something to do was fine.
Though everyone had their little quirks, they were outspoken. Over the past four years, they’d been really good to her. In freshman year, when they found out she was an orphan who’d been abandoned, they even cried. They worried she couldn’t afford food and would fight to pay for her meals.
If they weren’t good people, she wouldn’t have kept in touch with them or said such things. You’ve got to have a sense of judgment about people.
To be honest, she had a temper—a pretty big one—and wasn’t exactly easy to get along with. But they put up with her too. It was a two-way street.
“Wah wah, Shushu, we love you!”
The two, who were currently job-hunting, were so moved they almost cried.
Finally, heaven had mercy on them—they could enjoy the sweet life!
But seriously, Ye Sui was really something. Shushu really knew what she was doing. From now on, they wouldn’t secretly complain about that poor guy taking their gorgeous friend away!
When they got to the restaurant, Wei Jiaya was dressed in a sharp business outfit, still on the phone talking business, looking quite busy.
When she saw the car Li Pushu drove and learned the story, she was also dumbfounded, her jaw dropped to the floor.
“Amazing, you must be the goddess of luck in the flesh!” Wei Jiaya circled around Li Pushu, the more she thought about it, the more plausible it seemed.
“Then shouldn’t I be the god of wealth?” Li Pushu said with amusement. “Cut it out. How did you get the idea to start live-streaming handbag sales?”
At her question, the other two turned to look, and Wei Jiaya explained the reason.
Wei Jiaya came up with this idea out of the blue. Her family ran a factory that produced branded bags as an OEM, so she had the resources and connections in that area. After seeing someone sell bags via live-streaming, she got the idea and had been planning how to make it happen. Now that live-streaming sales were just taking off, she wanted a slice of the action.
She thought: what if I live-stream and sell these brand-name clearance bags? The price wouldn’t be high—they were all made by the OEM factory but had genuine anti-counterfeit tags. Through group buying in the live stream, each bag wouldn’t cost much. Go the affordable route, from 9.9 to over a hundred yuan, the purchasing power of ordinary people was huge—a win-win, you know?
Once she figured it out, Wei Jiaya started taking action. She considered not inviting her friends along because she didn’t want to ruin their friendship. In business, it's easy for people to turn on each other, even siblings, let alone friends.
If it succeeded, they’d argue over profit distribution. If it failed, they’d argue over responsibility.
Li Pushu thought it sounded good. “I think it’s feasible. If you need investment, just say the word—I have money.”
This kind of investment didn’t require much. It was just pocket change to her with her allowance. She’d just be supporting her friend’s venture. After all, she was sitting on a mountain of gold!
Come to think of it, she had very few female friends. Initially, people would admire her and want to hang out with her, but over time—whether at parties or going out—everyone’s attention was always on her, making everyone else feel like background decoration. And when they noticed guys did the same, it created distance. Those friendships would gradually fade away. Whenever Li Pushu sensed this happening, she understood that the friendship was no longer worth continuing.
After all, no one is a saint; not everyone can always be indifferent and happily brainwash themselves into just being friends with a beautiful woman. Anyone would have some resentment deep down.
Li Pushu understood. After all, she was born perfect like this, destined to stand alone under the spotlight on stage, the center of attention, impossible to stay low-key.
If people aren't on the same wavelength, there was no need to force them down the same path. Everyone has their own scenery.
Because she would always shine brightly and would never dim herself just to accommodate others.
Through these three roommates, she gradually formed friendships. Each of them had their own brilliance, and they didn’t feel overshadowed by her light. They were confident, shining in their own fields, so naturally they got along well.
“This is perfect timing!” Wei Jiaya raised her glass and said solemnly, “Do you guys want to join the team and form a four-person squad? But I have to say upfront: starting a business means both success and failure are possible. Make sure you’re ready mentally before you decide.”
No one dislikes the feeling of striving with friends, herself included. But she always worried about various issues.
Now she realized she was far from being as open-minded as Pushu. Who knows what the future holds? Living in the moment and enjoying the present is what matters most.
“Cheers!”
“Cheers!”
Wang Yuqing and Ding Ling stood up, the three of them clinked glasses, then looked at Li Pushu.
“Hmm… how about calling it ‘Four-Leaf Clover’? That fits.” Li Pushu smiled and gently clinked her glass.
The four of them chatted until about nine in the evening before heading home. They had arranged to start more detailed planning tomorrow.
Having drunk some alcohol, Li Pushu couldn’t drive. She had already told Ye Sui, and he was on his way and almost there.
They waited outside, chatting in the breeze, taking photos with their phones. The four beautiful women, laughing and talking, became the center of attention, with passersby turning to stare.
“Li Pushu, you took my business card but never called me. If you dump your broke boyfriend and get with me, cars and houses are guaranteed for you.”
It was that rich guy Guo, arm in arm with a new female companion, coming to the restaurant for dinner. When Guo saw Li Pushu, his eyes lit up. He immediately pushed his companion aside, straightened his clothes, walked over, and struck a cool pose.
Ever since that day at the school gate when he tried to pick her up and then parted ways, it had been a long time, and he hadn’t heard from Li Pushu.
What you can't have always tempts you. Guo had been obsessing over her. Recently, he’d been with several hot and fun-loving girls but felt nothing. He was about to go looking for her when he ran into her.
Hearing someone call her name, Li Pushu turned around. He looked familiar, but she couldn’t place him.
However, Ye Sui had already arrived, and his expression was a bit off.
Li Pushu blinked, feeling inexplicably guilty.
