Chapter 20
byChapter 20
Then, the officials and nobles who had craned their necks saw the beloved little darling.
He was holding a frying pan with a displeased expression.
That frying pan didn't resemble a cooking utensil but more of a handy weapon, tossed up and down in his hand, producing a loud "bang" "bang" sound.
It was the little darling...right?
Most people present hadn't seen Lu Wei before, so those who hadn't fell silent.
"..."
No one in the entire Emperor Star had ever seen such a receptive partner.
His Majesty was quite composed, as if he was already used to it.
The haughty monarch said, "I'll be back tonight. There's no need to be so clingy."
Lu Wei shot him a sidelong glance, his face clearly conveying, "Do I look like someone who came here to talk about this?"
The king, known for talking to himself, responded, "You brought a pan to cook for me?"
Lu Wei scoffed and slammed the frying pan against the wall with increased vigor.
The watching nobles were speechless.
How could they put it? The expression on this person's face clearly didn't indicate any intention of cooking.
"I see you're still pretending. Do you think I brought my pan just for decoration?" Lu Wei slammed the pan onto the table.
The loud noise startled the onlookers.
Those witnessing this fiery display for the first time were dumbfounded. This man was rewriting their understanding of a "receiver."
Seeing that the king remained silent, Lu Wei continued, "The adjutant has already confessed. Are you still putting on an act? Didn't realize you were such a good actor before."
His voice was laced with sarcasm. The king, who seemed to be treading on thin ice, asked, "So much anger. Did you forget again which plot of land you planted vegetables in?"
Lu Wei: "..."
He admitted that he could get frustrated when he forgot which vegetable patch he had planted in or whose plants needed watering.
The Canine Majesty: "You're still angry over the honey fruit. It's quite pungent, isn't it?"
Lu Wei: "Don't try to divert the topic! You know very well what you've done!"
Pinching his own philtrum to force himself to calm down, Lu Wei said, "I already know about it!"
The Canine Majesty wore an expression that said, "Go on, tell me more."
Lu Wei really disliked communicating with this creature that didn't understand human language.
Lu Wei: "Damn it, I really want to smash both you and the Adjutant together!"
The Canine Majesty stared at the frying pan in Lu Wei's hand, still a bit intrigued. "So is it an issue with the Adjutant or with me?"
Lu Wei was driven to madness. "Of course, it's you!"
Puppy Emperor: "Oh."
Although His Majesty remained unperturbed, the others were anything but calm.
This was the first time they had witnessed someone daring to speak to the Emperor in such a manner throughout their lives.
Some nobles, who had been planning to present companions modeled after Lu Wei to the Emperor, now found themselves at a loss for words. "..."
Putting aside other considerations, there wasn't anyone else on the entire Emperor Star who could wield a frying pan as a weapon, behave so nonchalantly, and yet still dare to scold that Monarch.
The Monarch truly had an unusual taste.
At this moment, the adjutant hurriedly caught up.
Spotting Lu Wei brandishing the frying pan, the adjutant was speechless: "..."
Lu Wei raised the frying pan, pointing it at the two beings: "Ah, both of you are here! How nice!"
The adjutant felt guilty, while His Majesty appeared bewildered.
The aide waved dismissively. "Mr. Lu, put down… that pot first."
Not only did Lu Wei not put it down, he slammed it against the wall beside him, producing a muffled thud and leaving a mark.
Forget about an omega, even a regular male would find it difficult to leave such a deep impression.
Aide: "…" Holy shit, impressive.
The thought of his pregnancy fueled Lu Wei's anger. "Do you think I'm easy to push around just because I'm usually nice to you?!"
Aide and onlookers: Who thought he was easy to push around?
His Majesty the Dog: "Lu Wei, you're overdoing the coquettish behavior now."
Coquettish, him?
Aide and onlookers: "…"
Now they knew who had mistaken his temperament.
Lu Wei was fuming at this provocation. "Who told you I was being coy?!"
The Emperor's tone had fluctuated, and judging from the adjutant's experience, the ruler was clearly beginning to lose his temper.
The adjutant quickly interjected between the two. "Mr. Lu, please calm down first!"
Lu Wei raised the frying pan, causing the adjutant to instinctively shrink back. "Why are you so angry, Mr. Lu? Can you tell us?"
It wasn't just his curiosity but also that of everyone else present except for Lu Wei.
However, his question seemed to ignite a fuse. The fiery pepper transformed into a relentless pea shooter. "Do you have any idea how hard it is for me here? Did you ask my opinion before dumping me in this godforsaken place?"
"I even planned on exploring Emperor Star later, opening a chain of pre-cooked food shops to earn money for a galactic tour, and finding a fun spot to settle down! Now, thanks to you all, those plans are ruined!"
"I've realized now, not only you and the adjutant, but others were lying to me too! You said the chances were low. If it were really as you claimed, there's no way I would have fallen for it so quickly!"
Lu Wei's words came out in rapid fire, revealing pent-up frustration.
The onlookers could hardly catch or comprehend everything he was saying, but they knew one thing for sure – this man was incredibly enraged.
Lu Wei pinched the philtrum: "No way, it's obviously your damn planet's problem. Who the hell stares at others doing their intimate acts? Even mating doesn't involve such nonsense! It's all related to your stupid royal family; no one has had the wit to reform in all these years."
In that moment, he had become a god of frying pans in everyone's eyes.
This was the first time anyone dared to curse at the royal family right in front of the Emperor!
Adjutant: "…"
Audience: "…"
Lu Wei glared fiercely at the Dog Emperor: "Keep pretending, who can outdo you in that department!"
There was no more amusement on the Dog Emperor's face. "You've gone too far today."
The adjutant didn't dare interfere with their conversation at all.
One was a hot-headed chili pepper, and the other an irascible emperor; either could give him a good knock.
Moreover, the emperor had been eagerly awaiting Lu Wei's arrival. Instead, he was greeted with a scolding, in full view of everyone. The adjutant couldn't even imagine how delightful the emperor must feel now.
Even for Lu Wei, this time might be a bit of a challenge.
Lu Wei: "Prepare a starship for me! I can't spend another second on this planet!"
Huo Jin held his hand, his expression somewhat cryptic. "You want to leave?"
Lu Wei was on the verge of insanity. "What else? Who would want to stay here?!"
Huo Jin tightened his grip on Lu Wei's wrist, effortlessly dislodging the frying pan from his hand.
This extraordinary strength was no joke. Lu Wei gasped, retaliating, "What, are you threatening me?!"
The cold monarch replied, "Repeat what you just said."
Lu Wei stared into his eyes. "GARBAGE... PLANET!"
"You and your adjutant are both damned liars."
The adjutant noticed the veins bulging in His Majesty's forehead.
Aide: ...Even the Pot War God scolding him is one thing, but he dares to directly insult His Majesty!
Our Star Emperor is no lenient and magnanimous monarch.
- Whoever openly criticizes His Majesty shall be punished severely.
Huo Jin's expression darkened, but he maintained his composure as he stared at Lu Wei, "I'll give you a chance to take it back."
Today's Spicy Pepper was on a fiery fuse and didn't bother to show any deference, "You deceived and manipulated me, yet you still want me to apologize? Your audacity knows no bounds."
"Do not take advantage of your favor."
"Get lost."
"..."
In the entire hall, only their voices could be heard. No one else dared to utter a single word, even their breathing became softer, fearing that any provocation might implicate them in the two men's conflict.
The regal canine's eyes were pitch black as he turned his head, expressionless, and said, "Prepare a starship for him."
Lu Wei crossed his arms, not bothering to look at the other.
Caught in between the two, the aide could only offer a pleading smile. "Your Majesty, are you sure?"
Huo Jin raised an eyebrow at him. "Do I need to repeat myself?"
His voice was so cold it seemed to freeze the air.
The aide struggled to maintain his smile. "Y-Yes, of course."
Could it be that His Majesty had finally found out about Mr. Lu being pregnant with another man's child?
When someone of such royal status is publicly humiliated like this, even their most beloved would have a reaction. Otherwise, they wouldn't be the ruler they knew.
After all, the monarch was still a monarch.
--
The emperor's direct order accelerated the preparation of the starship to an extraordinary pace.
Not only was the vessel ready, but a full crew, including the pilot and cabin attendants, had been assembled promptly.
However, the monarch himself did not show up.
It was the adjutant who bade Lu Wei farewell.
Speaking in a hushed tone, the adjutant said, "Mr. Lu, why are you doing this to yourself? The emperor genuinely cares for you. Even if you... he would still find a way to keep you by his side. So, why did you lose your temper with him for no apparent reason?"
Even if... you were carrying another man's child, the emperor would likely just be furious and act impulsively—ahem, but they would eventually reconcile.
The adjutant couldn't comprehend why Lu Wei was the one seething now.
Fiery Pepper once threatened, "I'll teach that (royal) dog a lesson first, then deal with you (adjutant)." Those words weren't empty.
After Lu Wei cursed at the royal dog, the adjutant surprisingly sought out more abuse.
Lu Wei spoke with a sarcastic edge, "You didn't get to witness the might of my black belt in frying pan skills."
The aide hesitated, "…"
He touched his nose and asked, "Then which planet are you planning to go to?"
Lu Wei replied, "Somewhere as far away from this godforsaken place as possible."
The aide couldn't help but inquire, "Wouldn't that mean your child wouldn't have a father?"
There were no reports of Herman being transferred to another planet.
Lu Wei chuckled, "Some fathers are better off not having."
Like His Majesty the Dog?
Upon hearing this, the aide was somewhat surprised, "So you're not planning on getting an abortion?"
Lu Wei hadn't wanted the child in the first place. Damn it, he hadn't even expected himself to actually be able to get pregnant.
However, the child was already a part of his life.
He was also the only family Lu Wei had on this alien planet.
Lu Wei rubbed his stomach. "I don't need your lecturing."
Despite the sharp tone, there was an unusual tenderness in his eyes.
At that moment, the adjutant thought, perhaps this man would unexpectedly be a good father.
The adjutant couldn't understand why Lu Wei would maintain a relationship with a man outside and even have a child, but since things had already come to this, the man would now be a single parent raising a child on an alien planet. There was no point in being too harsh.
The adjutant bid him farewell. "Then I can only wish you a safe journey."
As Lu Wei was about to leave, a tinge of reluctance lingered in his heart.
"I understand. Take care of yourself too," Lu Wei couldn't help but ask, "What did he say?"
It was his child, yet this bastard didn't want to take any responsibility, just letting him go like that without even a word.
What an idiot.
Both of them knew who "he" was.
The aide said, "His Majesty must be aware by now… Not showing up here is already a statement of his stance."
Lu Wei sneered. "Fine."
Their meaningless conversation came to an end.
The starship's hatch closed.
The king indeed didn't come to take a look.
