Chapter 67
by AdminChapter 67
On Emperor Star.
His Majesty had brought back the Queen's substitute for several days now.
Lu Wei's life these few days consisted of eating and lying down, and that mad Emperor seemed to have taken the wrong medication.
Anyway, he kept muttering incomprehensible things in Lu Wei's ear all the time.
Fortunately, despite his madness, Lu Wei had grown accustomed to it.
After all, he, an Earthling, was quite adaptable, and didn't find such situations unusual.
If His Majesty wanted to hug and pet him, let him be.
At first, he was uncomfortable and even considered resisting, but his body eventually yielded gradually.
Of course, this wasn't a case of saying one thing and doing another; Lu Wei was a straight man through and through. It was just that the Emperor was so out of his mind, and Lu Wei didn't know what consequences would arise from defying him.
Tsk.
After all, his own child was still in the hands of those dead people. If he acted recklessly, there was a chance that his brother Danjiao might get hurt.
The madman wasn't always affectionate with him; he was, after all, a king with numerous responsibilities, not always present by his side.
—His absence didn't imply his willingness to let Lu Wei go.
The Earthling was still confined within this dilapidated room.
As Lu Wei munched on sunflower seeds, he asked the attendant beside him, "Why do you think he's looking for me, huh? That guy doesn't seem like the delicate type, so why would he attract men's attention?"
The attendant remained silent. "…."
Although he had never met the previous queen, he had heard the rumors.
Wasn't that queen just like this? Rumor had it that he came from the countryside and was quite sociable, getting along well with everyone. Moreover, he didn't fit the typical aesthetic of Emperor Star's receptive partners; he was said to be more handsome and charismatic.
This substitute seemed even more similar when he spoke.
The attendant hesitated, seemingly with something on their mind but unable to speak.
Lu Wei offered him a candy: "From the look on your face, it seems you have something to say?"
The attendant stole a glance at him and then surveyed their surroundings, seemingly reassured by his amiable demeanor before speaking, "Yes, very much so."
Well, bloody hell.
This time, it was Earth Brother who fell silent.
"Remarkably similar, huh? Can't I change something to be less like him?"
Servant: "It's alike in every aspect."
One could only say that finding such an impeccable substitute in the Z galaxy is akin to striking gold. This individual astonishingly emulates the mannerisms of the renowned Queen almost perfectly.
The servant held onto the candy ball, hesitant to consume it. "Well... perhaps it's the linguistic refinement that resembles His Majesty the most."
Lu Wei was skeptical. "So the Queen has such refined taste? He even sought out someone of this particular disposition?"
It wasn't that he was boasting.
He was top-notch in not holding grudges, mature and accommodating. He had been skilled in cooking since he was young, and even the old lady downstairs said whoever married him would be blessed.
Servant: "Mm."
It was uncertain whether or not they had taste, but they certainly resembled each other.
Lu Wei grew curious. "Could it be that the Queen also likes to wear my black tank top?"
When he was "recruited" in the Z galaxy previously, the evaluators had mentioned that wearing the black tank top could add points to his evaluation.
Strange.
Servant: "I'm not aware of that, but the Queen does have a penchant for unusual attire. It was said that during the interstellar conference, they attended with their arms bare."
Lu Wei: "What the f*ck."
With bare arms, that would indeed be his black tank top, wouldn't it? No wonder it added points.
Lu Wei gave a thumbs up. "That does show the queen's excellent taste."
The attendant nodded.
Unbeknownst to them, every move they made was being reported to His Canine Majesty.
Upon learning the details of their conversation, Huo Jin's smile was anything but amiable.
"I really did forget."
Upon discovering Lu Wei's identity and whereabouts, he promptly questioned those around him one by one.
He had already heard about Lu Wei's amnesia.
Ha.
To forget that?
Regardless of the reason, Lu Wei could not be allowed to forget him.
No, no, no.
Huo Jin shut his eyes, concealing the fury beneath them.
"Bring that attendant here," he commanded.
The servant who had conversed with Lu Wei was promptly brought before him.
Kneeling down in panic, the attendant asked, "Your Majesty, what has happened? Have I made a mistake?"
This servant had no idea why he was summoned before the king.
Huo Jin extended his hand. "Give it to me."
Confused, the servant stammered, "W-What...?"
The king narrowed his eyes. "He gave it to you."
He... could only be referring to the substitute queen that he served.
The attendant suddenly recalled that the young man had indeed given him something—a single candy ball.
Just a single candy ball.
Nothing else.
With trembling hands, the attendant retrieved the candy ball from his pocket, his voice quivering as he asked, "Your Majesty, is this it?"
The emperor nodded, awaiting the offering of that tiny item.
After receiving the candy ball, His Majesty toyed with it in his hand, "You are not to accept anything from him."
The attendant obediently lowered his head, "Yes, Your Majesty."
Once the matter was settled, he was replaced, reportedly by an old lady to attend to the young man.
All because of that single candy ball.
Lu Wei watched helplessly as the only attendant who could converse with him was summoned away.
The star network refused to connect.
He was left with no choice but to idly recline in his armchair, counting the gaps in the tiles for amusement.
Just as he reached the seventy-ninth tile, the door opened once more.
Lu Wei turned eagerly. "Could you tell me more gossip?"
But instead of the familiar face he had anticipated, another person stood before him.
This face left Lu Wei momentarily breathless.
How could one describe it?
Some people truly were genetic lottery winners; with two eyes, a nose, and a mouth, they managed to create an irresistible combination. The individual standing before him was one such fortunate soul. His face was flawless, every curve perfectly balanced, his dark, profound eyes seemingly holding countless tales within them.
—If only the person weren't looking at him with an expressionless face.
Lu Wei struggled to regain his voice. "Your... Majesty?"
This was the first time Lu Wei had looked at him without being blindfolded, leaving his mind momentarily blank.
If the other party were female, they would have been his ideal type in terms of appearance, someone he'd fall for at first sight.
The person's face visibly sagged upon hearing this. "What did you call me?"
Lu Wei: "Huh?"
"Your Majesty."
What else could he call him? A mad dog?
Lu Wei still had some sense of propriety and maintained his fake smile.
Some titles were best kept in one's heart and not spoken aloud, lest one lose their head.
However, his address clearly didn't satisfy the mad king.
The other's pupils were as black as freshly ground ink. "You really don't remember anything?"
Lu Wei: "..."
He dared not respond to this question. The other party's expression was truly menacing, more akin to a murderer than an actual one. Answering such a query was even more life-threatening than when a girlfriend asks, "How many girlfriends have you had before?"
Lu Wei ventured cautiously, "I remember."
Sure enough, the madman exploded.
His Majesty the Dog clutched Lu Wei's neck, "You can never forget no matter what happens!"
The cool hand on Lu Wei's neck sent shivers down the spine of the Earthling.
"Did I forget something about you?"
"Hmph."
"..."
Silent, Lu Wei didn't dare probe further.
A mere grunt from the other party seemed to carry an abundance of unspeakable emotions.
Lu Wei asked earnestly, "Did I meet you before my amnesia?"
The canine monarch narrowed his eyes. "No."
In an instant, Lu Wei sensed that the other party was pouting.
"No" actually meant "yes."
Lu Wei, being an understanding and mature father, had spent two and a half years soothing children. He knew that with this kind of attitude, a soothing approach was needed.
So, he ventured a gentle question, "Hmm, I suppose we've known each other for quite some time."
The response was tepid, "Not really."
But in Lu Wei's interpretation, "not really" often equated to "yes".
Moreover, the tone suggested that their acquaintance might have spanned more than just a brief period.
Lu Wei blinked. "Are we good brothers?"
That was the only possibility Earthlings could come up with.
They were either friends or foes; there was no way he was some sort of queen to the alien king, right?
At the mere thought of it, Lu Wei scoffed.
How could that be? He was as straight as they came.
There was no way he would be in a relationship with a man, let alone adopt a child together.
The Canine Sovereign gazed at him with a sneer tugging at the corners of his lips. "No, we're not."
Those two words seemed to be spat out through gritted teeth.
Curiosity piqued, Lu Wei asked, "Then what kind of relationship are we in?"
The Canine Sovereign's irises darkened visibly. "Figure it out yourself."
In an instant, Lu Wei imagined his brother Danjiao.
Pang Qiu was the same when he was throwing a tantrum, especially when his emotions ran high; he tended to ask such petulant questions.
"You wouldn't have told me if I didn't ask, right?"
Unconsciously, Lu Wei reached out to rub the person in front of him on the head.
Only after completing the gesture did he realize what he had just done.
Lu Wei promptly retracted his hand.
However, His Majesty the Dog had already set his sights on him.
It was like a wolf with glowing green eyes eyeing a succulent piece of meat.
Indeed.
The other party wasn't an innocent and harmless child but a dark and distorted adult.
Still fixated on the dark and perverted desires of grown-ups, huh.
The Earth friend couldn't help but swear, "Damn it, calm down first. Take a cold shower in the restroom on your left."
His Majesty the Dog replied, "No."
Danger came unexpectedly, prompting one to curse, "Damn."
These successive curses finally coaxed a slight curve into Huo Jin's lips.
Excellent.
His temper was still the same.
Swearing like this suited him well.
Huo Jin lowered his eyelids.
Perhaps the mature personality he now possessed had been honed by the unfairness and grievances the other party had faced in his absence during those numerous perilous situations.
He simply wished to kill.
The temper he had cultivated had been greatly diminished.
Whoever tried to tame him would be tamed themselves.
Lu Wei raised a hand in a gesture to halt: "Dude, we all have physical needs, and we can understand that, but I don't recommend going for guys, okay?"
The emotionless dog king replied, "I only have my eyes on you."
Lu Wei: "...."
???
Well, if that's the case, you might as well go for other guys! Please, please do!
But how could an Earthling compete with an extraterrestrial? Their genes and strength were superhuman, making it impossible for Lu Wei to escape once they attempted to restrain him.
Thus, he was embraced and attended to once more.
All sound was swallowed, leaving only the sound of ragged breathing.
Huo Jin's gaze fell upon the person beneath him.
After two and a half years apart, he had become even more mature.
And more tolerant.
In other words, he exuded an even more alluring aura of a devoted husband.
His eyes darkened once more.
The night was stretched forcefully into a prolonged embrace.
