Chapter 131: Little Daddy Has Lost Weight

The villa was more than spacious enough for their group, and the interior was impeccably clean.

The little one snuggled in his daddy's arms, his tiny stomach rumbling.

"Kun Kun, You You's hungry," Su Youli said shyly, covering his tummy.

Qin Kun had already prepared food. He had originally planned to drop You You and the others at the hotel and then return for it, but now they could simply dish it out and eat right away.

Tang Dou was busy unpacking the little one's bags and followed Zhang Shun upstairs to the second floor.

With bright, curious eyes, the little one was carried to the dining table.

"Dad~" the little one pointed toward the second floor, turning to look at Qin Kun.

Qin Kun tried to get him to eat something first, but the little one pursed his lips tight, insisting on finding Su Siwen.

Su Youli was an angelic child, but he had a stubborn streak. If he said he wanted to see his little dad, he meant it.

He wouldn't eat until he saw his little dad.

Qin Kun and Shen Minyan exchanged a helpless glance. Seeing no other option, they carried him upstairs.

Inside the room on the second floor.

A slender young man stood behind the door, his ear pressed against it, carefully listening for sounds outside.

The room was bathed in a warm yellow light, casting a gentle glow on the man's profile.

To his right stood a light cane. The villa was thickly carpeted throughout, absorbing almost all footsteps.

Su Siwen had been standing for a while, and his recently operated knee began to throb. Picking up his cane, he walked back into the room with a hint of disappointment.

He smiled wryly. He was the one who didn’t want You You to see him like this, so why was he so upset that You You hadn’t come?

    "Dad, open the door~"

A muffled child's voice came from behind the door.

The voice was young and sweet, and the knocking was light.

Su Siwen froze, cane in hand, his heart swelling.

Was he hearing things? He thought he heard You You's voice.

You You was supposed to be at the hotel with Qin Kun. How could he be here?

"Dad, it's You You~ Open the door, please~"

The door was knocked harder this time, much louder than before.

"Your little dad might be resting. Let's wait a moment, okay?" Shen Minyan crouched down, taking Su Youli's small hand and blowing on it to soothe the redness from knocking too hard.

The little one sulked, drooping his head and refusing to say a word. Once Shen Dad finished soothing his hand, he lifted it again, ready to continue knocking.

With a soft click, the door opened, and the little one's small hands hung in mid-air.

Su Siwen’s eyes welled up the moment he saw Su Youli.

Children grow so quickly, changing day by day. The You You before him now seemed taller, every part of him showing signs of growth.

His leg was tightly hugged by a soft little bundle. Su Siwen looked down and met the little one's eyes.

    Tearful, pitiful, and utterly heartrending.

"Baby, how did you get here?"

The moment Su Youli saw Su Siwen, his tears spilled over.

Large teardrops fell to the floor as he clung to his daddy's pants, looking up with blurred, tear-filled eyes.

Beyond the overwhelming longing for his dad, what made him cry so hard was how much his dad had changed.

Su Siwen had always been slender, but after his illness, lack of exercise and his weakened state had taken a toll—though never to this extent.

Due to the medication, he had lost his appetite, growing increasingly thin. Clothes that once fit now hung baggy on him.

While his body could be hidden under clothing, the state of his face told the truth.

His cheeks were gaunt, his eye sockets slightly sunken, and he looked completely worn out.

The little one had never seen his dad like this. Anxiously, he hugged his dad, his voice choked with sobs as he called out to him.

Su Siwen’s heart ached. He leaned down, wanting to hold the little one in his arms and comfort him as he always had.

His baby was easy to calm down; a few gentle words were usually enough.

But these days, aside from rehabilitation training at the hospital, he couldn’t lift heavy objects or overexert his legs.

He rested his hand on the little one’s head, his voice as gentle as ever. "Baby, Dad is fine. Here, touch it if you don’t believe me."

He guided the little one’s hand to his knee. The bone there had healed, and the external wound was small—the internal pain was invisible from the outside.

The little one stopped crying, pouting and lowering his eyelids, hesitantly reaching out to touch his dad’s knee.

His dad had never let him touch it before.

Afraid of hurting his dad, the little one used the lightest touch, gently placing his palm on his dad’s knee.

"...Dad, it’s bone," the little one said tearfully, feeling his dad’s kneecap.

Su Siwen nodded. "It’s a healthy bone. Dad’s leg is getting better little by little."

Dad never lied, so You You easily believed him.

Qin Kun picked up the little one and brought him closer to Su Siwen.

"Be good, give your little dad a kiss."

The little one’s eyelashes were still dotted with glistening tears, his fair cheeks streaked with tear stains, his face flushed from crying.

He sniffled, puckering his lips and leaning forward: "Mua~ mua."

Su Siwen greeted Shen Minyan and invited them into the room.

Leaning on his cane, Su Siwen sat down on the sofa, while the little one, still in Kun Kun’s arms, began to fidget eagerly.

Qin Kun knew him best and handed him over to Su Siwen’s embrace.

The little one immediately grabbed onto Su Siwen's clothes, looked up, and called out "Daddy" twice in a sweet, childish voice.

Su Siwen's eyes welled up, tears blurring his vision, as he tightly wrapped his arms around the little one.

"You You, Daddy missed you so much."

The little one pressed his cheek against Daddy's chest, still sniffling: "Daddy's tricking me."

Su Siwen chuckled: "How did Daddy trick you?"

The little one lifted his face, speaking seriously: "Daddy told You You that Daddy was already better, but Daddy isn’t better at all."

He's still in pain, and Daddy has lost so much weight.

Yang Yang said that only people who don’t get enough to eat become very, very thin.

Thinking about Daddy not having enough to eat for so long, the little one got sad again, his eyes filling with tears that started falling.

Su Siwen took the tissue handed by Qin Kun and wiped away the little one’s tears.

Though he had lost a lot of weight, he was clearly in good spirits—his eyes were clear and bright, full of hope for the future.

"Baby, after we finish crying, let's stop, okay?"

Su Youli nodded, then heard his Dad continue: "Do you trust Daddy?"

The little one answered without hesitation: "You You does."

Su Siwen smiled, gently pinching his chubby cheek, speaking slowly and softly: "Daddy, I've already had two surgeries, and after one last one, Daddy will recover and can play with You You again."
