    Chapter 11: Help

The hooligan clung to the iron gate with a crazed look on his face: "You've got the nerve to run around with an Alpha behind my back, but no guts to come out?"

    "Come out!"

Cai Gu hunched his shoulders. He wasn't stupid—if he went out now, the thug would bully him. He still remembered getting bitten last time.

Besides, Cai Gu shot a worried glance at the drool dripping from the thug's mouth. What if he has some infectious disease and gives it to me?

Cai Gu smoothed down his skirt and whispered, keeping his eyes down, "You should just go back. I'm not coming out. I'm not stupid."

The thug gritted his teeth in frustration, pressing his whole face against the iron gate: "Have you been lying to me this whole time? You're actually an Omega. If you'd told me earlier, I wouldn't have bullied you or taken your money..."

He came from a poor family; his parents never looked after him, and he'd been hanging with the wrong crowd since he was a kid.

But Cai Gu was different. Even though he knew he was a thug, Cai Gu still helped him take care of his wounds and gave him a rice ball.

Cai Gu was confused. He tilted his head and couldn't help correcting the thug's way of thinking: "But that doesn't mean it's okay to bully Betas either. Bullying people is wrong."

He gathered his courage: "You'd better stop coming to find me."

Cai Gu had never fought back because he knew these young guys were also pitiful. The Federation's class system was harsh; low-class people just kept having kids to try to move up, but never bothered to teach them right from wrong.

He figured that maybe the money he gave them could help them live a little better.

But now that thug had changed completely—he was scarier.

The veins on the thug's hand bulged as he yelled, "Then who do you want to come find you? That Alpha in the luxury car? I saw him. He's a student here, right? Does he know how old you are? You're fucking an Alpha almost twenty years younger than you! Why can't you fuck me!"

With that, the thug grabbed the iron gate and started climbing over.

Being an Alpha, he was strong. He gripped the gate and hauled himself up.

Cai Gu was so startled his eyes went wide in disbelief. He silently grabbed a broom from the security booth, holding it with both hands, his arms pressing against his chest muscles. When the thug's head popped up, he quickly whacked him down with the broom.

    Like a game of whack-a-mole.

But the thug seemed dead set on getting in. Ignoring the pain, he swung one leg over.

Suddenly, he let out a scream and fell off the gate. Then Cai Gu heard the captain's voice behind him: "Who's there! Get out of here, or I'm calling the cops!"

Cai Gu realized the captain had turned on the electric current on the gate, and the thug who'd been clinging to it got shocked.

Cai Gu noticed a syringe fall out of the thug's pocket, but before he could get a good look, the thug quickly shoved it back in.

The thug struggled to his feet, eyes bloodshot, cheeks sunken, glaring viciously at the captain standing in front of Cai Gu.

The captain shook his fist and warned again: "Beat it!"

The thug stumbled back a few steps, then slowly twisted his lips into a terrifying smile. He left one last threat: "You'd better stay inside forever."

"Otherwise, I'll fuck you to death."

With that, he turned and ran, leaving only his retreating figure behind.

Once the thug was gone, the security guard wiped the sweat from his face: "Creepy. Kids these days are getting worse and worse."

The captain figured Cai Gu had been harassed by a thug on his way back.

He naturally took the broom from Cai Gu's hand and looked him up and down, complimenting his long dress: "That dress really suits you. Gorgeous."

The square neckline perfectly showed off the cleavage between his chest. Even though his frame was big, it didn't look awkward at all.

Cai Gu sighed. Wearing this dress meant he had to be somebody's stepmother. He just wasn't in the mood to answer the captain. "Captain, is there something you need?"

Only then did the captain remember why he'd come: "The training ground will be closed this Friday because of the Silence Fast at the church. You can have the day off. I happen to be off too. Want to hang out?"

If the captain were an Alpha, he would have smelled the bloody pheromones lingering on Cai Gu—even though they'd faded, they were still aggressively clinging to him, branding him as claimed.

Cai Gu shook his head, the ends of his hair swaying slightly: "I actually have plans that day, so I can't go."

"Oh, by the way." Cai Gu leaned in close to the captain, so close that the other man could see his curled eyelashes, the fine lines at the corners of his eyes, and his soft, smooth lips. "If you see that kid hanging around again, could you help me chase him off?"

Thinking of the thug's parting words, Cai Gu couldn't help but feel scared. He bit down on his lip, leaving teeth marks.

The captain couldn't resist reaching out and gently pulling Cai Gu's lip free from his teeth. When their dark eyes met, he seemed to snap out of it: "Alright, got it. Kids these days are getting out of hand. I've heard a bunch of them have been causing trouble all over lately."

    Causing trouble everywhere?

Cai Gu felt something was off, but he didn't dwell on it. He smiled warmly at the captain and said, "Thanks. You're a good man. If I've got time, we'll hang out another day."

His simple words instantly excited the captain. Watching Cai Gu walk into the security booth, he couldn't help lowering his head and licking the finger that had just touched Cai Gu's lips, savoring it.

    So oblivious.

It felt like you could do anything to him and he'd let you. Really?

The captain swallowed hard, a gulp sounding in his throat.

No matter how much Cai Gu dreaded it, the day of the Silence Fast came.

He wore a white dress that fell to his calves, white roses woven into the ends of his hair, soft strands brushing against his cheeks.

He applied a layer of moisturizing lip gloss, stuck a fake scent-blocking patch on the back of his neck, and carefully blended in with the crowd of older Omega wives.

His frame was larger than most Omegas, but with that face, he didn't seem out of place.

[Shan Yu: Just go inside and sit in the very front row, the middle seat. That's my spot. Once the prayer is over, you can come out. I'll be waiting at the door.]

[Shan Yu: Send me a photo of yourself now.]

    [Shan Yu: Bear checks.jpg]

Cai Gu held up his phone, feeling stealthy as he took a picture from below.

After sending it, Jiang Yu quickly replied with a link.

[Shan Yu: [Survey shows: 95% of Beta-Omega couples are unhappy]]

[Shan Yu: [Destroying someone else's family is a very immoral act]]

    (Previous message has been retracted)

[Shan Yu: Just sit there obediently. Don't talk to anyone else.]

Cai Gu slowly typed a reply. Before he could send it, someone grabbed his chin: "Wow, what a beautiful face."

"Your husband is so lucky." "Nice big hips too. Must be good at bearing children... Oh my, looks like you've got a solid place in the family."

Cai Gu's height made him stand out way too much, and the Omega wives nearby looked at him curiously. The Omega wives, dressed like colorful butterflies, gathered around him curiously.

Cai Gu wanted to keep his distance, but afraid of hurting them, he could only stand there timidly, letting them touch his face and hands.

    "No, no... I'm very fertile..."

The Omega wives didn't believe him and pinched his firm butt: "Then will your husband go out and find mistresses on the side?"

Cai Gu nodded vaguely as they ushered him into the church and sat him down. "Ah, with such a beauty at home, he still cheats?" one of them said. "Alphas are all alike."

"Maybe it's because they've been married so long and lost the spark?"

"Hey, want me to teach you some moves for the bedroom?"

The Omega wives chattered away enthusiastically. Cai Gu's eyes went wide in shock. He never expected that in a sacred place like a church, these Omega wives could talk about such spicy topics.

They even wanted to add Cai Gu as a friend to send him some study materials. Cai Gu couldn't take it anymore. He waved his hands in front of his broad chest: "I'll go out to get some fresh air. I'll come back when the prayer starts."

Watching Cai Gu hurry away, the Omega wives sighed again: "What a perky butt."

After walking out of the church, Cai Gu finally relaxed. His brow relaxed. They were way too lively for him to handle.

He had come too early—more Omega wives were still arriving at the church entrance. He felt awkward just standing at the door, so he looked around and went around to the back of the church.

The church was surrounded by a beautiful garden. Cai Gu twirled on the path, and the hem of his skirt flared out like butterfly wings.

For the past fifteen years, he had been working in the company, constantly saving money. It felt like he hadn't been this relaxed in years.

Cai Gu put his hands behind his back and looked at the flowers around him curiously. He bent down, his nose brushing the soft yellow stamens, pollen getting on his nose. The fresh floral scent masked the smell of blood on him.

    "Bang."

Cai Gu looked up in confusion. He subconsciously walked toward where the loud noise came from, and saw a nun standing there, looking worried, with a huge wooden box on the ground.

    "Um..."

Cai Gu walked up to her, his eyes sincere. A gentle breeze blew, making his skirt and black hair sway slightly. "Do you need any help?"

The nun, seeing his outfit, knew he must be one of the wives attending the prayer meeting. She shook her head: "Madam, no need. I'll get someone to come by later..."

But the anxiety in the nun's eyes was painfully obvious, not like someone who would be able to find help any time soon.

Cai Gu thought for a moment, then easily lifted the heavy wooden box into his arms, the muscles in his strong arms bulging.

He gave a shy smile: "It's okay."

Cai Gu's gentle voice instantly soothed the nun's anxiety. He gave a gentle smile: "Don't worry, things will work out."

The nun stared at Cai Gu, dazed, until he let out a questioning "Hmm?" Then she snapped back to reality.

"Th-thank you, madam. Just go along this corridor and put the box inside. Thank you, thank you."
