    Chapter 17: Dormitory

The air conditioner in the security booth whirred to life. Cai Gu sat on the chair, still wrapped in Yue Jin’s school uniform jacket.

Yue Jin’s expression was complex. He tilted his head, briefly finding it absurd. The upward curve of his lips dropped into a straight line, and he said softly, “Yes, he will retaliate against me. I’m in so much pain.”

Cai Gu could sense the shift in the young man’s mood. He tightened his grip on Yue Jin’s hand, as if trying to comfort him, but his mouth opened and closed, unsure of what to say.

He knew he was cowardly and timid. If not for Yue Jin, he would have been pinned down and bullied by those Alphas in the bathroom today.

Cai Gu took a deep breath. “Then… do you want to sleep here?”

He racked his brain, earnestly trying to think. “If he wants to get back at you, he’ll definitely pick a time when no one’s around. When you get out of class, I’ll come pick you up, and he won’t have a chance.”

The moment he said it, the entire booth fell into silence. Yue Jin’s face showed shock, his golden eyes locked onto Cai Gu.

Cai Gu continued, “You can sleep on the bed. I’ll buy a folding cot and sleep on that.”

Hearing that they wouldn’t share a bed, Yue Jin clicked his tongue in disappointment but behaved considerately, urging Cai Gu, “No need to buy a folding cot. We can sleep together.”

The bed was small enough that two people couldn’t fit without one clinging to the other. If the old man didn’t want to fall off, he’d have to cling to Yue Jin, pressing his soft flesh against him.

Cai Gu mercilessly burst his beautiful bubble, insisting, “No, you’re still a student. If we crowd together and you don’t sleep well, it’ll affect your studies. What if you end up failing, like I did? That would be terrible.”

Yue Jin caught the “too” in his words and was about to ask, but the school bell rang. Cai Gu urgently grabbed his hand. “Hurry up and go to class now.”

“By the way, I’ll wash your uniform and return it. I’ll bring it to your dorm.”

Cai Gu had sweated a lot, and it was all over the jacket. He was embarrassed to give back a dirty uniform to Yue Jin.

He took out his phone and added Yue Jin as a contact. Their dorm was a two-person room that required a keycard to enter. Yue Jin handed his card to Cai Gu. “I sleep on bed one. I’ll submit my room cancellation form in a few days…”

Yue Jin paused, then considerately added, “If you’re busy, you don’t have to pick me up every day.”

“I’m not busy.” Cai Gu removed the school uniform from around himself, folded it in his arms, and smiled, showing fine lines around his eyes. “Go to class.”

Yue Jin nodded in satisfaction. After walking a distance, he couldn’t help but look back. Cai Gu was still standing at the door, watching him with a gentle look. Seeing him turn around, Cai Gu tilted his head, and a lock of hair fell across his face.

It was a strange feeling, but Yue Jin enjoyed it.

Cai Gu was worried Yue Jin needed the uniform urgently, so after washing it, he specifically dried it with a clothes dryer.

Students at Yasa Academy all had the same school uniform, but each uniform had a unique design. Yue Jin’s jacket had many tassels.

Cai Gu folded the uniform neatly, put it in a bag, and headed toward the dorm. It was near dusk, and orange light dyed the clouds.

The dormitory wasn’t far from the East Gate, and with Yue Jin’s card, he got in smoothly. But once inside, Cai Gu found the dormitory’s interior confusing and struggled to find the stairs.

“Excuse me, where is room 402?”

He had changed into clothes he’d worn for years, with a large collar. When he bent down, his chest muscles generously half-exposed, giving the dorm supervisor an eyeful.

The supervisor, who had been watching a show, was captivated by that wheat-colored chest. His gaze traveled upward to Cai Gu’s red lips, painted with lipstick, and he swallowed hard.

He immediately stood up, unable to take his eyes off Cai Gu. “Hello, ma’am, can I help you?”

Cai Gu didn’t notice the supervisor’s blatant stare. Embarrassed, he said, “I’m here to deliver clothes to a kid. I wanted to ask how to get to room 402.”

“Please come in and register. I’ll take you up later.”

The supervisor flatteringly opened the door. As Cai Gu passed him, he couldn’t help but take a deep breath, inhaling the rich fragrance coming from Cai Gu.

The supervisor’s room had a strange smell, but Cai Gu thought he might be imagining it. Just as he was about to sign, his hand accidentally hit the mouse. The screen, which had been off, lit up, revealing explicit content.

Cai Gu blushed and quickly looked down, quickly finished signing.

The supervisor was also embarrassed at first, but seeing Cai Gu’s shy demeanor, he grew bolder. “Madam, you’re even more beautiful than those on the screen. I envy your husband for marrying someone as beautiful as you.”

Cai Gu pursed his lips uncomfortably and said earnestly, “No, he’s younger than me, and his skin is fairer. I’m not good-looking.”

The supervisor had been prepared for Cai Gu to slap him, since rich people prized their pride and wouldn’t tolerate being compared to the Omegas in adult videos.

But he didn’t expect Cai Gu to be so docile. So docile that he felt he could get away with taking liberties right then and there.

The supervisor had the nerve but not the guts, only fantasizing about that scene in his mind, while mentally cursing the rich for getting to have such a good wife.

    “I’ll take you up now.”

Cai Gu quickly followed the supervisor, turning two or three corners before reaching the elevator. The supervisor intended to accompany him up, but Cai Gu shook his head. “No, I can go up alone.”

Disappointed at having missed a chance to take advantage, the supervisor gritted his teeth with a bitter smile. After Cai Gu entered the elevator, he listlessly returned to his room.

The explicit content on the screen no longer interested him. He picked up the pen Cai Gu had touched, held it carefully, and sniffed it obsessively.

    So sweet.

The elevator reached the fourth floor smoothly. Cai Gu stuck his head out. As soon as he stepped into the dormitory, the temperature seemed to drop.

Each door had a room number. He quickly found room 402. The door was unlocked, and it opened with a gentle push.

Room 402 had two beds. Although it was a dorm, it was much larger than Cai Gu had imagined. The two beds were far apart, with bed curtains providing privacy.

On one side, the desk was filled with religious books; on the other desk lay several Rubik’s cubes.

This setup was much nicer than the security booth. Cai Gu felt even guiltier. If not for him, Yue Jin wouldn’t have to stay in that cramped booth.

He hoped it wouldn’t hurt the kid’s grades.

Sighing, Cai Gu placed the bag with the school uniform on the desk. Just as he was about to head out, the bathroom door opened, and a red-haired youth walked out.

Jiang Yu was wearing a thin short-sleeve shirt, casually tossing a towel into the basin. He yawned lazily, blinking his eyes open, and upon seeing Cai Gu, his first reaction was to lift his leg, which was in a cast.

He stared at Cai Gu incredulously, hopping over on one leg, and grabbed Cai Gu’s shoulders with both hands. “So it’s real this time.”

He raised his chin arrogantly. “Hmph, you actually know where my dorm is. At least you had the decency to come see me.”

Cai Gu hadn’t expected Yue Jin’s roommate to be Jiang Yu.

But Jiang Yu looked terrible—pale face, lips without a trace of color. Cai Gu touched his wet hair and frowned. “Your rut isn’t finished, and you’re taking a cold shower? Your forehead is burning. Didn’t you take any suppressants?”

Hearing Cai Gu mention suppressants, Jiang Yu couldn’t help but pout. “It’s all your fault. The suppressants are useless.”

After what happened, Jiang Yu’s mind was a mess, but what really got to him was Cai Gu’s calmness and composure at the time.

In front of him, Jiang Yu had made a complete fool of himself, like a dog.

Seeing Cai Gu in the dorm today, Jiang Yu regained confidence, convinced that Cai Gu really cared about him and had specifically asked around to find his dorm. He dropped his chin onto Cai Gu’s shoulder and let out a contented hum.

“Help me out. I feel terrible.”
