Chapter 35: Expose
byChapter 35: Exposed
Yue Jin was flushed and burning up with fever. As soon as he opened his mouth, his voice came out hoarse. He pushed back the curtain beside his bed and saw Cai Gu sitting on the hospital bed, his shirt torn and hanging off one shoulder.
Yue Jin stumbled right into Cai Gu’s arms, pressing the edge of the bed down as he fell into his embrace. “Mom...”
Jiang Yu, trapped under the blanket, couldn’t see anything, but that didn’t stop him from silently mocking Yue Jin’s voice for sounding like a duck.
Cai Gu’s backside took up most of the space under the blanket, and Jiang Yu’s face was practically pressed against it. He struggled to breathe, surrounded by the scent of Cai Gu.
Jiang Yu tried to sneak his head out for air, but Cai Gu caught a glimpse of the red hair in his peripheral vision. Startled, he gasped and quickly pushed Jiang Yu’s head back under, pressing the blanket down tightly with his hand.
Dazed by the fever, Yue Jin didn’t notice anything unusual. He wrapped his arms around Cai Gu’s neck and whined, “Mom, kiss me...”
Afraid that Yue Jin would hear Jiang Yu, Cai Gu leaned in and kissed him on the lips. He willingly parted his reddened lips, letting the teen lick at them.
Half of Cai Gu’s body sank into the blanket, his legs crossed under him, and his breathing grew rapid.
Under the blanket, Jiang Yu clenched his fists so hard his fingernails dug into his palms, breaking the skin. He gritted his teeth, wanting nothing more than to burst out and beat up Cai Gu’s husband.
Why should he have to hide under the blanket like some mistress?
He wanted to kiss too.
Impulsive as always, Jiang Yu lifted the hem of Cai Gu’s shirt and bit down on his waist.
Cai Gu’s whole body stiffened. Yue Jin, who was still sucking at his tongue, tilted his head and pulled back from Cai Gu’s crimson lips. “Mom, are you feeling unwell?”
Cai Gu struggled to endure Jiang Yu’s harassment. The brat was going all out to compete with Cai Gu’s "husband."
Sticky saliva smeared all over Cai Gu’s waist. He shook his head, struggling to calm down. “No, it’s nothing. I’m just a little cold.”
Outside, rain was pounding down. Yue Jin sniffled and draped his feverish body over Cai Gu, forcing himself onto the bed.
Jiang Yu, under the blanket, was knocked to the floor by Cai Gu’s buttocks.
Cai Gu didn’t dare look back. Yue Jin lay in his arms, murmuring, “Mom, I’m so hot right now. Hold me, and you won’t be cold.”
Cai Gu’s heart went soft. He rubbed his cheek against Yue Jin’s hair. “Sleep. You’ll feel better when you wake up.”
This was the first time Yue Jin had someone caring for him when he was sick. The scent of Cai Gu filled his nose, and he nuzzled into Cai Gu’s chest and dozed off.
Once he was asleep, Cai Gu first covered his face with the blanket to make sure he couldn’t be recognized, then quietly turned around. He saw Jiang Yu still sitting on the floor, looking completely dazed.
Jiang Yu wiped his face with his hand, still feeling the soft sensation.
After experiencing it firsthand, he realized just how big and plump Cai Gu’s buttocks were—plump enough to swallow his whole face.
Even though he came in dead last in physiology, his shitty Alpha genes were acting up. Such a big rear end must serve some purpose at certain times...
Jiang Yu swallowed hard.
Seeing that he was still unresponsive, Cai Gu thought he’d smacked his head and gone dumb. He leaned half his body out of bed to feel Jiang Yu’s head.
“What’s wrong?” Cai Gu whispered.
Jiang Yu grabbed his wrist and shook his head dazedly. “I’m fine.”
Cai Gu sighed in relief. Just as Jiang Yu was about to climb back onto the bed, Cai Gu extended his hand to block him and proposed, “Why don’t you sleep on the other bed tonight?”
Jiang Yu had one leg already on the bed. Hearing Cai Gu’s words, his red eyes went wide in shock, and then his sleek red hair almost flared up.
“I’ll— waah...”
Before he could finish, Cai Gu covered his mouth.
Yue Jin’s brows furrowed slightly at the noise, but fortunately didn’t wake up.
Seeing how much Cai Gu cared for his husband, Jiang Yu sneered. With his personality, he should have just turned and left. But if he left, that would leave Cai Gu alone with his husband.
Jiang Yu clenched his molars, stubbornly staying put. He looked up to meet Cai Gu’s eyes.
Cai Gu felt guilty under his gaze. He gave a helpless sigh, leaned in, and whispered in Jiang Yu’s ear, “Then you have to behave. Don’t make any sound. I’m afraid my husband will hear.”
Jiang Yu choked back his anger and nodded.
Seeing his agreement, Cai Gu’s brows softened with relief, but before he could take Jiang Yu’s hand, the young man flipped over and pinned Cai Gu’s shoulders down.
Cai Gu was instantly immobilized. He looked back, puzzled, his downturned eyes wide.
Jiang Yu bit his ear, breathing warm air, and threatened, “You used my hospital bed—don’t you owe me something?”
Jiang Yu hadn’t forgotten how Cai Gu treated him earlier. He bit down on the beta’s shoulder, and right when a muffled groan was about to escape Cai Gu, Jiang Yu reminded him in his ear, “Quiet. Don’t wake your husband.”
Cai Gu’s dark eyes were rimmed with moisture. Scared stiff of waking sick Yue Jin, he could only bite his full lower lip and hold the same position.
The night was long. After what seemed like forever, Jiang Yu finally stopped. He pulled tissues from the side and deftly wiped Cai Gu’s thighs.
Once he was cleaned up, Jiang Yu curled his lip, buried his face in the blanket, and turned his back to Cai Gu.
Cai Gu rubbed his face in confusion and bit his lip, at a loss. He knew puberty-aged kids were a handful. Maybe Jiang Yu was upset about his grades.
Cai Gu’s head was also a total mess. He didn’t dare disturb Jiang Yu, so he quietly pulled up a corner of the blanket and covered him with it.
When Cai Gu woke up, he instinctively touched Yue Jin’s forehead. The fever had subsided for the boy in his arms, but he still hadn’t woken up.
He turned to look for Jiang Yu, but the boy beside him had already vanished. The spot where he had lain was cold. He must have left early for class.
Cai Gu got up just as the doctor pushed through the door. The curvy beauty sat on the bed, his arms couldn’t hide his full chest muscles, his muscular tan skin faintly visible, making him even more alluring.
Marks scattered over his body betrayed what had happened to him the night before.
The doctor’s gaze darkened. He knew a Beta targeted by a noble student like this was not someone he could lay a hand on.
The doctor cleared his throat, forcing himself to look away. “I have clean clothes here. Do you want to put them on?”
Last night, the two young men had torn at his clothes together, leaving his shirt in tatters. Hearing the doctor’s offer, Cai Gu’s eyes lit up, and he nodded obediently, waiting for the doctor to get the clothes.
The doctor returned to his break room and stood in front of the cabinet. Inside were clean clothes, but he hesitated. In the end, he didn’t touch them. Instead, he turned to grab a jacket draped over a chair.
Although he had only worn it for a short time, it was already carrying his scent. And since Cai Gu was a Beta, he wouldn’t realize he was being wrapped in an Alpha’s pheromones.
The thought alone got the doctor’s heart thumping. He handed the jacket to Cai Gu with shaking fingers, his pulse racing.
Cai Gu, as expected, didn’t notice anything unusual. He took the jacket gladly and slipped it on.
Cai Gu's build was a size larger than the doctor's, so he could barely squeeze into the coat, though the buttons were tricky to fasten.
The doctor stole a glance at Cai Gu's chest, which seemed to still radiate warmth, his throat dry. He forced himself to be patient and checked on Yue Jin's condition.
Cai Gu, however, leaned anxiously over the hospital bed: "Doctor, how is he?"
Kneeling, the buttons were straining against his chest. The doctor coughed lightly, didn't point it out: "He's fine, but his pheromones are unusual. Yue Jin seems to be on some medication. You can ask him yourself when he wakes up."
Afraid that if he stayed longer, he'd do something irrational, the doctor quickly lowered his head: "I have other things to attend to, so I'll be going now."
Before Cai Gu could even thank him, the doctor hurried off, leaving only his back.
Cai Gu placed his hand on Yue Jin's forehead, frowning: "Medication? Is he unwell?"
Regardless, Cai Gu decided to go back and prepare some soup to help Yue Jin recover.
He climbed out of bed, accidentally knocking something to the floor with a crisp sound.
Cai Gu quickly looked down, seeing a bottle roll under the bed.
He stretched his fingers to reach it, finally retrieving the medicine. Looking at the packaging, he suddenly remembered it was Jiang Yu's medicine for his leg pain.
"So careless. What will he do during the exam?"
Since he had nothing else to do, Cai Gu first returned to the security booth to change clothes, then headed off to deliver the medicine to Jiang Yu.
To avoid Jiang Yu discovering his identity as a security guard, he had previously asked the team leader for Jiang Yu's class schedule to avoid him. He didn't expect it to come in handy now.
When Cai Gu arrived at the teaching building, it was just between classes. Remembering how Yue Xun had bullied him last time, Cai Gu was extra cautious this time, keeping his back hunched, shoulders turned inward, and watching every move around him.
He didn't know if it was his imagination, but acting like this seemed to make more students look over.
Cai Gu had to brace himself and walk toward Jiang Yu's classroom. The room was half empty; Cai Gu peered in through the door.
He squinted but couldn't spot Jiang Yu's flashy red hair anywhere.
"Hey, it's you."
A head popped out from the seat by the door. Wang Wei hadn't expected to lift his head from the desk only to find a pair of pectorals nearly in his face.
Wang Wei stared at the sexy chest, then looked up and recognized a familiar face—wasn't that the boss's little stepmother?
"Are you looking for the boss?" Wang Wei blinked.
Cai Gu's mind was slow to catch up, but after a moment, he recognized the person as one of Jiang Yu's friends.
He quickly nodded, relieved at his luck: "Yes, I'm here to see him. This is Jiang Yu's medicine. Please give it to him when he returns, and remind him to take it as instructed."
Wang Wei took the medicine, completely confused. Wasn't the boss in good health?
Why would he need medicine?
When he saw the label, he blurted out, "You must have grabbed the wrong one. This is a pheromone regulator for A-level Alphas. The boss is S-level, he absolutely can't take this."
Cai Gu's heart thumped. He didn't understand what a regulator was, so he looked down, bewildered: "Isn't this for his leg? Like a strong recovery medicine for injuries?"
