Chapter 19: Taking a Shower

The rain was heavy outside, and the wind drove raindrops against the umbrella, making a crackling sound. Cai Gu couldn't hear Yue Jin's words clearly, so he took his hand and led him toward the security booth.

But for some reason, Yue Jin stubbornly stood at the entrance, motionless, his wet blonde hair clinging to his cheeks. He repeated himself word by word: "Where did you go?"

Yue Jin waited for Cai Gu's answer, his eyes dark and sinister. He licked his lower lip, his sharp nails digging into his palm.

Cai Gu's dress fluttered in the wind, revealing his slender calf. The rain-soaked fabric clung to his legs, perfectly outlining the lines of his thighs.

"Hmm?" Cai Gu finally heard him. He struggled to hold the wobbling umbrella and explained to Yue Jin, "A kid wasn't feeling well, so I went to take care of him."

Yue Jin placed his hand over Cai Gu's to help steady the umbrella and asked casually, "Is he your child?"

Cai Gu let out a soft laugh, covering his mouth with his hand, his eyebrows arching. "How could that be?"

How could he have had such a vicious, perverse child like Jiang Yu? It would definitely drive him crazy.

Satisfied with the answer, the sinister look left Yue Jin's eyes. With a curl of his lips, he obediently followed Cai Gu into the security booth.

Though small, the security booth was warmly decorated by Cai Gu. The warm-toned light bathed him as he bent over to find a clean towel for Yue Jin.

The wet fabric was semi-transparent, and when he bent over, the soft, plump curve of his buttocks was visible. Cai Gu had just straightened up, towel in hand, when Yue Jin wrapped his arms around his waist from behind.

"I waited outside a long time. I thought you weren't coming." Yue Jin's tone was hurt, but his face remained blank as he gently brushed aside the hair at the nape of Cai Gu's neck to check his scent gland.

The skin on the back of his neck was smooth. Yue Jin lowered his head to sniff. Betas can't hold onto pheromones for long—after being drenched by the rain, the scent on him had already dissipated.

Cai Gu, held in a tight embrace, thought Yue Jin was scared. Turning around, he let Yue Jin rest his head on his chest, his fingers threading through Yue Jin's hair, stroking his head. "How could I not come? Were you scared staying outside alone? Next time, you must find a place to shelter from the rain."

When relaxed, Cai Gu's chest was incredibly soft. Yue Jin, lying on his chest, slowed his breathing. His eyes lowered as he asked, "So, I'm being good, right? Even better than that kid?"

Cai Gu didn't hesitate for a moment and gave an affirmative answer. "Of course."

Even though Yue Jin had done bad things before, like killing people, it must have been because others struck first. And with his little brother being so awful, he probably got bullied at home too.

"Yes, I'm so good..."

Satisfied with his victory, Yue Jin let out a contented sigh. He buried his face in Cai Gu's arms, feeling an immense sense of security. Just as he was about to make a move, a towel was draped over his head.

Cai Gu used the towel to wipe the water droplets falling from Yue Jin's forehead. Frowning slightly with concern, he said, "You need to take a shower now, or you'll catch a cold."

Taking Yue Jin by the hand, Cai Gu led him to the bathroom, which was stocked with various bottles and jars. He carefully explained how to use each one. But as he finished his explanation, he noticed Yue Jin standing beside him, smiling brightly as he stared.

Yue Jin's slender fingers twined around the strap at the back of Cai Gu's neck. His golden eyes were bright, reflecting Cai Gu's image. He leaned close to Cai Gu's ear and whispered, "I don't know how to use them. Can you teach me?"

His warm breath ghosted over Cai Gu's earlobe, and his tongue lightly grazed that soft spot. Cai Gu instinctively tried to move away, but Yue Jin encircled his slender waist, trapping him against the sink.

"Besides, you're wet from the rain too. If we shower together, we can save water, right?"

Cai Gu carefully considered Yue Jin's suggestion. Before he could answer, Yue Jin covered his mouth with his hand and coughed softly. When Cai Gu looked over, Yue Jin was misty-eyed and pitiful.

"Oh dear." Fearing Yue Jin would get sick, Cai Gu quickly nodded. "Alright, I'll help you shower tonight and show you how to use everything. By tomorrow, you'll know."

The moment Cai Gu finished speaking, Yue Jin's fingers unwound the strap and pulled it down. The halter-neck dress pooled at Cai Gu's feet, revealing his entire body.

It was a thoroughly mature body—plump, strong, with muscles no longer as hard as in youth but softer.

The oblivious Beta didn't notice the lily pheromones in the bathroom, nearly solidifying in the air, nor did he notice Yue Jin's increasingly heavy breathing.

As a saint, Yue Jin was supposed to dedicate everything to the divine—celibacy was a requirement.

But upon seeing Cai Gu's body, something inside Yue Jin seemed to break. He dropped his gaze and stepped closer. Just as his hand was about to reach for Cai Gu's shoulder, a stream of icy cold water sprayed into his face.

It doused the fire within him.

Cai Gu was adjusting the water temperature. The shower in the security booth was finicky; turning it slightly would change the temperature drastically.

After adjusting it and letting warm water flow from the showerhead, he turned around to find Yue Jin standing far away, huddled in a corner.

Cai Gu smiled and motioned for him to come over. The two stood together under the water. The warm water dripped down Cai Gu's wheat-colored skin, making his skin even smoother and slick.

"Turn right for hot water. These two bottles are for shampoo. The one next to it is..."

After the shower, Cai Gu kindly helped Yue Jin dry his hair. He tied the soft, floor-length blonde hair up and even pinned a hairpin in place. "Good boy. Go sit outside for a bit. I'll be right there."

Yue Jin left the bathroom somewhat flustered. He hadn't expected Cai Gu to be so completely at ease. Every time he closed his eyes, the voluptuous figure swayed before him.

Yue Jin placed his hand on the back of his neck, feeling his scent gland throbbing with heat. But he didn't know how to relieve it, so he could only stand facing the cold air to calm his inner fire.

Cai Gu changed into pajamas and used a claw clip to secure his dried hair, with a few stray strands falling loose, making him look even gentler.

"Why aren't you sitting on the bed?" Thinking Yue Jin was uncomfortable, Cai Gu quickly led him to sit on his own bed.

Kneeling at the edge of the bed, Cai Gu braced himself with his hands. "I didn't expect you to change dorm rooms so quickly. The folding bed hasn't arrived yet."

"And the security booth isn't fully set up either. Let's squeeze in for tonight, okay?"

At some point in the bathroom, Cai Gu must have applied something—his lips were coated with a light gloss, and his body exuded a faint fragrance.

Yue Jin couldn't look away. His Adam's apple bobbed as an unconscious look of infatuation appeared in his gaze.

"Mm."

"Good boy." Cai Gu smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly. He spread the blanket over both of them. The bed was too small, so to prevent Yue Jin from falling off, he had him lean close, leaving no gap between them.

Yue Jin's arms wrapped around Cai Gu's waist, the sweet scent lingering at the tip of his nose. He buried half his face in the blanket, finding it a little hard to breathe but also feeling an unprecedented sense of security.

"Go to sleep."

The wind howled outside, but inside the security booth, it was extraordinarily calm.

Fearing that Yue Xun might ambush Yue Jin on the way, Cai Gu made sure to bring a hammer along in his satchel, keeping a sharp eye on his surroundings.

Yue Jin had tied up his long hair, showing his face completely. He turned to look at Cai Gu, who was still wearing his security uniform—a thin shirt that hinted at his wheat-colored skin underneath. Cai Gu didn't tire of giving Yue Jin instructions: "Be careful. If anything feels off, you must message me."

Yue Jin accepted Cai Gu's concern without reservation. A smile curled on his lips as he leaned in, pressing his forehead against Cai Gu's. "Mm."

After saying goodbye to Cai Gu, Yue Jin returned alone to the classroom. The moment he sat down, his desk mate, who had been sitting by the window, leaned over and whispered mysteriously, "Hey, what's your relationship with him?"

"He's not your mother, is he?"

The desk mate, unaware of what had happened the day before, had only seen Cai Gu's desirable figure from a distance by the window.

Yue Jin paused in propping his chin on his hand, then curved his eyebrows and smiled. "Yeah, he's my... mother."

A mother he found for himself.

"By the way, I heard yesterday that a really beautiful security guard appeared in our teaching building. What a pity I missed it. The alphas in my dorm were dreaming of him all night last night."

The classmate lowered his voice and said, "I heard Yue Xun and his crew went to corner the security guard yesterday..."

"Bang."

Before the classmate finished speaking, a loud noise came from the side.

Yue Jin lazily opened his eyes to look over, only to see Yue Xun slam his backpack down onto the desk, then glare fiercely at them.

Yue Jin gave him a defiant grin, pressed his index finger to his lips, and slowly breathed one word: "Quiet."

As soon as class ended, Yue Jin walked through the crowd and headed downstairs, but didn't see Cai Gu. He pursed his lips and couldn't help quickening his pace towards the security booth.

When the security booth came into view, Yue Jin instinctively lowered his voice. He reached out and pushed open the door of the booth, revealing an unfamiliar man inside.

Yue Jin frowned, his eyes full of hostility. Before he could demand an explanation, Cai Gu came out from behind the man. Cai Gu didn't see Yue Jin; he was focused entirely on the man, holding a handkerchief and carefully wiping the sweat off his face.

Cai Gu and the man were standing very close to each other, looking very intimate.

Yue Jin inexplicably found it jarring, feeling as if his mother was introducing a boyfriend to him.

Just thinking about it made Yue Jin feel suffocated.
