### Chapter 24: Getting Beaten

"Yue Xun?"

He Yanxing uttered the name, his blue eyes narrowing behind his glasses as he tapped the desk with his fingers. "Do you want to see him?"

Cai Gu hadn't forgotten what Yue Xun did to him in the cubicle. He bit his lip, hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yes."

Cai Gu pushed himself up on the desk, intending to stand on his own, but a sharp pain shot through his knees. He gasped and pitched forward, nearly falling, but He Yanxing caught him just in time.

The blanket slipped off Cai Gu and fell to the ground, and the torn vest barely covered his curvy figure. His alluring body flashed before the student at the door for a moment before He Yanxing blocked the view.

He Yanxing glanced at the wounds on Cai Gu's knees, then directly bent down and lifted him into his arms. "I'll take you to the isolation room."

Cai Gu placed his hands on his chest and nodded lightly. His feet slightly lifted, and as they passed the student at the door, his foot brushed against the other's chest.

The warm, soft sole of his foot made the student freeze in place, and even after He Yanxing walked away with Cai Gu, he placed his hand over his chest.

A strange thought surfaced in his mind.

If Cai Gu was really selling himself, that would be great.

The dim corridor was lined with cells like prison cages, separated by iron bars. When they saw He Yanxing walk past, the Alphas locked inside slammed against the bars with a loud crash, shouting insults.

"He Yanxing, you bastard! Let me out!"

"When I get out, I'll kill you!"

"He Yanxing! You better not fall into my hands!"

"... "

He Yanxing walked calmly, treating the Alphas on either side as if they were air, until a pair of warm hands covered his ears, blocking out the insults.

He looked down at Cai Gu in surprise. The Beta in his arms frowned, his lips pressed together in worry, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

He Yanxing carried him to the last isolation room. It was pitch black and empty, containing only a cold iron bed—sturdy yet icy.

Only when the Alphas' shouts faded away did Cai Gu let go of his hands. He hesitated for a moment, then set his hand on He Yanxing's head and stroked his soft blue hair.

He Yanxing knelt on one knee in front of Cai Gu. Thinking about the Alphas' insults, he—rarely—explained himself: "Only those who violate school rules or pose a threat to the academy are sent here."

"Alphas are all trash. Not a single one in the Blue Luo Religion is worth a damn."

He Yanxing didn't know the relationship between Cai Gu and Yue Xun, but the fact that Yue Xun showed up the second Cai Gu got caught meant they were pretty close.

But He Yanxing saw Cai Gu shake his head. His eyelid twitched, and irritation nearly consumed him. Countless thoughts flooded his mind.

What does he mean? Are he and Yue Xun really lovers?

Cai Gu, completely unaware of He Yanxing's chaotic thoughts, seriously refuted: "The Blue Luo Religion's eggs are very good."

Originally, Yue Jin had been a good kid in Cai Gu's mind, but since he had dismantled the folding bed Cai Gu bought with coupons, Cai Gu quietly categorized him as a bad one.

The sound of approaching footsteps in the corridor caught their attention. Cai Gu exchanged a glance with He Yanxing. The young man calmly stood up and hid in the corner of the isolation room, darkness covering him.

"Cai Gu."

A slimy voice, like a snake's tongue, licked at Cai Gu's body, reminding him of the damp, dark cubicle. He instinctively tightened the blanket, wrapping himself into a large ball.

Yue Xun grinned, his face momentarily twisted and terrifying. "How's the isolation room?"

Cai Gu gave him a suspicious glance, not believing Yue Xun actually cared about him. He continued to stay still like a mushroom, not moving an inch.

Seeing no response, Yue Xun didn't give up and continued, "You got caught selling stuff in the dorms by the student council. What do you think their punishment will be?"

"Do you know how dangerous the isolation room is? These are all crazed Alphas! When they break out of control, they'll pierce the back of your neck with their sharp fangs. You'll have to deal with a group of Alphas. Yue Jin won't be able to save you either. As the Saint, he has to prepare for the believers' trial these days. Only I can save you! Beg me! Beg me!"

Hearing the words "crazed Alphas," He Yanxing, hiding in the corner, lightly moved his gloved fingers and pressed the switch inside his school uniform jacket.

Cai Gu didn't catch most of Yue Xun's rambling, but he couldn't help thinking the guy had a good cadence—though it was a bit too noisy.

Like a frog croaking.

Yue Xun talked until his throat was dry, his eyes bloodshot. His face pressed against the iron bars as he stared intently at Cai Gu.

Cai Gu wanted to continue playing dead, but Yue Xun's gaze was too intense to ignore. He reluctantly shifted his plump bottom to face Yue Xun.

Only then did Yue Xun see how pathetic Cai Gu looked: messy, tightly wrapped in a blanket, with only his face and a hint of collarbone visible.

Yue Xun's breath caught. He couldn't help imagining what Cai Gu must have looked like when the student council caught him.

He must've been completely naked, dark skin flushed pink, red finger marks on his wrists and ankles, desperately trying to crawl to the door but being dragged back by the Alphas by the leg.

The dorm door finally opened. A group of student council members stood at the entrance, looking down at the sorry sight of Cai Gu. He thought he was saved, but instead, they treated him like a prostitute and tossed him into isolation.

A rustling sound came from the corridor, but Yue Xun was lost in his own world, excitedly gripping the iron bars, trying to catch a glimpse of what was under Cai Gu's blanket.

His pheromones spilled out, way above normal levels.

Cai Gu blinked, covering his red lips with his hand. Just as Yue Xun was puzzled, an Alpha popped out from the side and punched him. "Stop releasing pheromones! You trying to start something? Fight me!"

Yue Xun was stunned by the punch. Before he could react, several more Alphas appeared and joined the brawl. These Alphas were mentally unstable and overwhelmingly pummeled Yue Xun.

Cai Gu watched, mesmerized, not daring to breathe, his hands clasped over his chest, still with the blanket over his head. He leaned forward to see better.

Seeing him sway and about to fall, He Yanxing quickly came out of the corner, wrapped an arm around his waist, and set him down on the ground in front of the iron bars—a perfect ring-side seat.

Cai Gu's eyes sparkled. Although he was timid, he wasn't a pushover. He could get angry and scared, too.

The fists raining down on Yue Xun relieved his pent-up frustration and anxiety deep in his heart.

Some time later, the student council head finally arrived. They injected the Alphas with tranquilizers and dragged the escapees back to their cells. The corridor fell silent again, leaving only Yue Xun lying on the ground, gasping for breath.

Alphas recovered fast. Even though he'd looked half-dead moments ago, he'd recovered enough to sit up.

Yue Xun muttered a curse. His face was bruised, like a box of mixed paints. Remembering how Cai Gu had reacted, Yue Xun stared at him in disbelief. "So you... cough... saw the Alphas coming, but you didn't warn me!"

Cai Gu fiddled with his fingers. "I'm getting old. My reaction is a bit slow."

He mumbled softly, half-hiding his head in the blanket, looking guilty.

Seeing him act so pathetic, Yue Xun gritted his teeth but still couldn't bring himself to scold him. He turned his gaze to He Yanxing, who had seemingly materialized out of nowhere.

"You..."

"I'm blind." He Yanxing cut him off with two words, nearly making Yue Xun faint from anger.

"Get him out of here. His pheromones are affecting the other students."

The student council members immediately rushed over and grabbed Yue Xun's arms, ignoring his struggles, each took an arm and dragged him away.

"Cai Gu! I'll be back!"

"Without me, you'll never get out! Never!"

After he left, the echoes still hung in the hallway. Cai Gu couldn't help sighing, "Young people have such good voices."

Cai Gu remembered Yue Xun's words. Yue Jin had said this morning that he had something to do in the next couple of days and wouldn't be back.

Thinking about how crazy Yue Xun was, Cai Gu furrowed his brows and asked carefully, "Can I just stay in the detention room for now?"

Although the floor of the detention room had been cleaned, it was very cold. He Yanxing lifted Cai Gu off the floor and nodded cheerfully, "Of course, there's a lounge here."

"Once the student council finds the person who posted, they'll let you out, so don't bother begging Yue Xun."

When the forum came up, Cai Gu bit his lip, "What if a lot of students got scammed by that liar?"

"Should I post a clarification so they don't get cheated out of their money?"

He Yanxing looked confused: "Why? They were deceived because they were dumb and horny. Consider this a lesson for them."

"But yeah, we should clear that up."
