Chapter 33: Fever
byChapter 33: Fever
The replies below immediately derailed, all demanding to see his face. Cai Gu thought it was a forum rule, so he picked up his phone, held it squarely, and took a photo.
He didn’t use any filters or edit the picture. After taking it, he posted it directly on the forum.

Photo.jpg.
The other forum members originally meant to scare Cai Gu off like that, and then mock him sarcastically—after all, theirs was a niche interest, and there’s always some Alpha or Omega barging in to lecture them with a patronizing tone.
But they hadn’t expected Cai Gu to actually send a photo. Ready to judge, they clicked on the image.
To be fair, the photo wasn’t good. The lighting was dim, the angle was poor, and it was almost a close-up face shot. Yet none of that diminished Cai Gu’s good looks.
The warm orange light covered his face like a thin veil. His eyes drooped at the corners, his thick lashes looked like drawn-on eyeliner. His nose bridge was high, his lips full—one bite and they’d pop like fruit. Though his skin was smooth, you could tell he wasn’t young. Further down, you could see half his chest, partly hidden by his arm, but it still looked pretty big.

Hold on, let me take a moment here.
17L
This isn’t really some mom coming here to ask how to discipline her kid, is it?
18L
Putting everything else aside, those pecs—I could just eat those up.
19L
Damn, I actually got turned on by someone around 40.
20L
You’re not alone up there—I already cranked one out.
Seeing that they had started chatting among themselves, Cai Gu couldn’t help feeling nervous.
56L (OP)
Um, can this help my child get better?
57L
Of course you can. You could literally cure anyone. Check your DMs—I’ll help you figure out how to help your kid.
When Cai Gu saw that comment, his eyes lit up. He didn’t notice the later replies like “You beast!” “Already making a move that fast?” or “Wait, Mommy, look at me.” After fumbling for a bit, he finally found the private messages.
[Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex] sent him a video call request.
Without a second thought, Cai Gu accepted it. The phone stand wasn’t stable, so as soon as he tapped the button, the phone wobbled and fell off the desk, landing beside his leg.
The hem of his nightgown lifted a little, and the phone ended up pointed right at his soft, plump thigh.
“Sorry,” Cai Gu said, flustered, picking up the phone. He set it back in place and pressed his palms together. “I didn’t hold it steady.”
When [Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex] saw Cai Gu’s face, his breathing slowed and he instantly turned bright red.
In the dim, cramped room, the mature Cai Gu looked even more like a sex worker waiting for a john—like any second a regular customer would knock, pin him to the bed, and take everything.
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex had originally thought Cai Gu was a fake, that the picture was stolen from someone else. He never expected the real guy to be even hotter.
Seeing he still wasn’t talking, Cai Gu asked softly, “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
As soon as Cai Gu spoke, Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex shuddered. He struggled to hold back his desire, afraid of scaring Cai Gu away. “No, nothing. It’s just—your kid is sick, right?”
Hearing him bring up the illness, Cai Gu immediately nodded. “Yes. He said the more he gets hit, the better he feels. And these past few days, his father passed away, so I’m worried his condition will get worse.”
“Actually, if he wants to be hit, I can help him. I’m just afraid I might hit too hard and hurt him.”
Cai Gu went on and on, but Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex only heard one thing: Cai Gu’s husband was dead.
After saying a lot, Cai Gu lowered his voice, his voice going all soft and syrupy. “Can you help me?”
He bent over. The thin fabric couldn’t hold his pecs—they nearly jumped out.
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex was head over heels. He nodded without hesitation, then took a wristband from his desk and shared a link with Cai Gu: “Click this link. There’s a button to adjust the current level. Watch my face carefully. If I really can’t take it anymore, I’ll ring the bell next to me to remind you.”
Cai Gu nodded, not really understanding. Nervously, he pressed down, and instantly he heard a buzzing current.
On the screen, he saw Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex arch his back, clench his teeth, and break into a cold sweat.
Cai Gu watched his face closely. Seeing nothing wrong, he turned the dial all the way up.
“Quick—turn it off…”
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex kept begging Cai Gu, but Cai Gu remembered what he had been told at the beginning: he had to wait until the bell rang.
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex gripped the desk tightly with both hands, raising his head in pain to look at Cai Gu. But Cai Gu, sitting in front of the screen, kept a smile on his face, unmoved by his suffering.
Unable to bear it any longer, Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex raised his hand and pressed the bell next to him, pushing down hard.
Hearing the sound, Cai Gu immediately turned off the current. His lashes fluttered, and he asked Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex curiously, “How do you feel now? Any better?”
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex was drenched in sweat. He had never experienced anything like this before. Cai Gu’s technique was clumsy, but the thought that his life was under Cai Gu’s control made him tremble uncontrollably.
He even began to envy Cai Gu’s child.
Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex forced out an “Mm.”
After conducting the experiment on him once, Cai Gu had a clearer idea. It seemed he needed to buy some gifts online for He Yanxing.
“Also…”
Cai Gu didn’t forget to comfort Mega Tyrannosaurus Rex: “Your illness will definitely get better too.”
Though Cai Gu didn’t know exactly what these illnesses were, he still hoped that the people on the forum would recover soon.
“Good night.”
After sleeping at home for one night, Cai Gu returned to the security booth the next day. He hadn’t been there for a few days, yet the booth was as clean as when he left.
Cai Gu stood there in a daze. The window of the booth couldn’t close properly, and even a single day away would let dust drift in.
Had Yue Jin cleaned it?
Cai Gu’s eyes were filled with relief, but he was also puzzled that Yue Jin hadn’t sent him any messages these past few days.
Is the church that busy? What if it affects the child's schoolwork?
Cai Gu nervously helped fold the quilt, while the wind outside picked up, making the leaves rustle.
Cai Gu glanced at the dark clouds outside; they were piled up, almost pressing down, making it hard to breathe.
Then, large raindrops began to fall, hitting the ground with a pitter-patter sound, and the air was filled with the smell of summer.
That kind of muggy heat was unbearable.
Just as Cai Gu was about to close the window, a gust of wind blew the hairband off his hair, scattering his dark hair, until a hand reached out and caught the hairband for him.
"Mom... Mom..."
The familiar voice made Cai Gu turn around, only to see Yue Jin holding an umbrella, standing in front of the window with a shocked expression, as if he couldn't believe the Cai Gu standing in front of him was real.
Cai Gu hadn't reacted yet; he didn't realize "mom" was being directed at him.
Seeing Cai Gu didn't respond, Yue Jin tossed aside his umbrella, pinched Cai Gu's cheek, and said, "So soft, is it really my imagination?"
Seeing him getting drenched by the rain, Cai Gu quickly pushed open the window: "Come in quick, why are you standing outside? It must be so uncomfortable getting soaked in the rain."
Cai Gu was about to open the security booth door, but as he was about to leave, Yue Jin reached out, trying to grab the hem of his shirt.
But he only caught a handful of air.
Cai Gu stumbled to open the door, but the person behind him pressed him against the door. The Alpha with an extremely high body temperature pinned him to the door, not allowing him to leave.
His scorching body made the whole space even more stifling. Unable to bear it, Cai Gu instinctively tried to push him away, but Yue Jin grabbed his hand instead, pressing a series of wet kisses into his palm.
Yue Jin climbed in through the window.
Cai Gu noticed his body temperature was unnaturally high, like hugging a furnace: "What's wrong? Do you have a fever?"
Yue Jin only whispered in his ear over and over: "Mom, mom..."
Yue Jin buried his face in the crook of Cai Gu's neck, afraid that Cai Gu might leave him.
Cai Gu hesitated for a moment. He wasn't sure who Yue Jin was calling "mom"; in his impression, Yue Jin's relationship with his mother seemed strained.
Cai Gu clenched his fist, but then gently patted Yue Jin's back: "Mom is here, don't be afraid, don't be afraid."
Yue Jin stopped moving. Cai Gu cautiously supported him, then dragged him little by little toward the stool.
Yue Jin was completely soaked, and Cai Gu worried he might dirty the bed.
Cai Gu originally wanted to get up and pour him a cup of hot water, but after searching the security booth's kettle, he couldn't find a single drop of water.
Cai Gu tapped Yue Jin's forehead, half-reproachfully: "You've been staying at the security booth these past few days, haven't you? Why haven't you boiled any hot water?"
"Wait for me a moment."
Seeing Cai Gu turn his back to him, the confusion in Yue Jin's eyes vanished completely. His brilliant golden eyes stared intently at Cai Gu's back, watching his slender waist wrapped in the shirt, his round buttocks straining against the fabric of his pants.
"Found it!" Cai Gu pulled out a bottle of mineral water from his bag and handed it to Yue Jin: "Drink this first, then take a shower later."
"I'll go get you some clothes..."
When Cai Gu turned around, Yue Jin had reverted to his earlier dejected expression. He cautiously held Cai Gu's hand, his eyes full of brokenness: "Mom, I'm sick... cough, cough, can you please not leave me?"
"I've missed you so much these past few days. I heard from others that you went to take care of He Yanxing."
That was a lie; there was no such person. Yue Jin had investigated and discovered that Cai Gu had been with He Yanxing these days.
Yue Jin's eyes sharpened, but he couldn't investigate further. Since He Yanxing was so sick, why didn't he just die sooner?
It would be best if he died, so he could stop competing for mom.
"I didn't dare disturb you... I've been waiting for you to come back at the security booth." Yue Jin effortlessly squeezed out two tears: "But now I'm sick too, can you not leave, mom?"
Yue Jin rambled on and on, but the slow-on-the-uptake Cai Gu hadn't caught on. However, seeing Yue Jin's current state, his expression turned serious: "No way. Look at you, you're starting to talk nonsense."
Yue Jin knew he would be back today, so he had waited early on the small path. When the rain came, he timed it perfectly to appear, looking as pitiful as possible, hoping to gain Cai Gu's sympathy and outshine that phony He Yanxing.
But Cai Gu didn't show the panic and urgency that Yue Jin had imagined. Instead, he stared at Yue Jin seriously.
Yue Jin's expression didn't change, but his heart was pounding, afraid of revealing any flaw.
No, that's impossible. To make it more convincing, he had bundled himself up and braved the scorching sun, purposely making his face red from the heat. Mom would never see through it.
Cai Gu pressed his hand to Yue Jin's forehead and drew in a sharp breath. Yue Jin's forehead was nearly burning his palm.
Cai Gu didn't hesitate; he pulled out his phone: "Hello, is this the school clinic? There's a student here whose brain is practically cooked from the fever!"
