    Chapter 26: The Dairy Cow

The residential building was dark and damp, with stains spreading across the walls, rusty handrails on the stairs, and a puddle of water on the cement floor in front of the door, emitting a nauseating odor.

Cai Gu crouched on the stairs, a pile of fruit in his arms, a plum still in his mouth, his cheek bulging as he leaned forward to gaze at the door downstairs, watching it intently.

Having squatted for a long time, his legs were a bit sore. Cai Gu adjusted his position and looked up. "How do we get in?"

He Yanxing frowned deeply. He had never been to the lower district before; the very air here felt suffocating to him. Only by staying close to Cai Gu, breathing in his scent, could he find some relief.

Without hesitation, He Yanxing said coldly, "Just go straight in and grab him."

Cai Gu shook his head in disagreement. "If we startle him, he might jump straight out the window."

He Yanxing sensed something off. He adjusted his glasses. "This is the seventh floor."

Cai Gu slowly gave an example. "Last night, that student in the basement bit through a stick as thick as this."

As he spoke, Cai Gu gestured with his hands to show He Yanxing. He couldn't help but remark, "So I think seven floors shouldn't be a problem for an Alpha."

For a moment, He Yanxing couldn't think of a counterargument. The two crouched together on the stairs, at a loss, until a clinking sound broke the silence.

A milkman came forward with a basket in his arms, glass bottles clinking against each other. He looked at the two on the ground with curiosity. "Want a bottle of milk?"

Cai Gu looked up, his dark eyes reflecting the milkman's figure. A brilliant idea popped into his head.

A blush spread across Cai Gu's cheeks. He quickly stood up, his eyes sparkling. "Could I borrow your basket and milk? I can pay you."

He Yanxing immediately understood Cai Gu's intention.

But the milkman shook his head. "This is company equipment. I can't have it damaged."

    "However..."

The milkman looked Cai Gu up and down, his gaze finally settling on the torn stockings on his legs. "You can swap them for your stockings."

"Hey." As soon as the milkman spoke, He Yanxing, who had been standing properly, suddenly slipped and stumbled forward. Cai Gu quickly grabbed the back of his collar and pulled him back.

He Yanxing suppressed his nausea, placed his hand on the rusty railing, and stood upright.

"These stockings are already damaged. If you want, I can give you a few new pairs."

The stockings clinging to Cai Gu's leg flesh shimmered under the light. The milkman, mesmerized, swallowed his saliva. "No, I want this pair."

The stockings pressed against his thighs would surely be imbued with Cai Gu's scent. If he pressed his face against them... it would be like pressing his face against Cai Gu's buttocks.

Determined to catch the swindler quickly, Cai Gu stopped hesitating. He nodded firmly, then walked to the corner of the stairwell to take off his tights.

The milkman ignored He Yanxing, impatiently peeking around the corner to watch.

Before he could see clearly, his neck was grabbed. He Yanxing tightened his grip, and the overwhelming scent of sea salt pheromones assaulted his mind. Veins bulged on the milkman's forehead, and the taste of iron spread in his throat.

Black spots appeared before the milkman's eyes. He flailed his limbs desperately, then was thrown to the ground, unable to move. He gasped silently, hands pressed against the floor.

He Yanxing looked down at him, the blue eyes behind his silver-rimmed glasses terrifying and menacing. The milkman no longer dared to think about the stockings; scared out of his wits, he fled.

He Yanxing withdrew his gaze, then leaned forward to peek around the corner from where the milkman had been. As soon as he stuck his head out, his face pressed against Cai Gu's warm thigh.

The firm, powerful thigh hit He Yanxing's nose bridge. Ignoring the pain, he took the chance to take a few deep breaths.

Cai Gu looked at He Yanxing in shock, who was crouching on the ground. He still held the stockings he had just taken off, looking around but seeing no sign of the milkman. "Where did he go?"

He Yanxing adjusted his glasses and stood up. "He got a call from his company. He must have gone to take care of something. Busy... busy is good."

Cai Gu glanced at the tool basket and milk placed on the ground, then couldn't help but sigh, "He's really a good person."

Cai Gu didn't doubt He Yanxing's words. Now he was torn about what to do with the stockings in his hand. He was reluctant to throw them away, thinking he could still wear them.

He Yanxing extended his hand seriously. "It's fine. Give them to me, and I'll hold onto them for you."

Cai Gu nodded, putting the stockings into He Yanxing's palm without suspicion. The stockings still carried Cai Gu's body heat, burning as if they could melt He Yanxing's hand.

Cai Gu bent down, picked up the basket from the ground, and secured it to his chest with a rope. He adjusted his full pectorals to make the basket fit snugly.

But even with that, he could only manage to sneak into the swindler's home.

    "Hmm."

Cai Gu looked around, picked up a takeout spoon, first poured the leftover oil from the takeout box into the milk bottle. Feeling it wasn't enough, he added a few spoonfuls of the dirty water on the ground, then picked up chopsticks and stirred it all together.

Having witnessed the whole process, He Yanxing's expression was grim, and he silently stepped back.

"Done!" Cai Gu screwed the bottle cap back on, holding it up like a trophy. "This will definitely take down the swindler!"

He Yanxing didn't dare get close, just put on a stern face and gave Cai Gu a thumbs up.

Cai Gu gave a shy smile, humbly accepting the praise. He placed the milk bottle back in its spot, took a deep breath, and instructed He Yanxing, "If I take too long in there, then come in."

"I'm going." Cai Gu's gaze was firm as he walked step by step down the stairs.

He Yanxing stayed put, looking around in disgust. He decisively pulled the stockings from his pocket and covered his face with them.

Yep, this one smells way better.

Cai Gu stood in front of the worn-out door, gathering his courage. He curled his fingers and knocked.

    "Knock, knock, knock."

After knocking for a while, there was no response. Cai Gu's confidence started to fade. He bit his lower lip, his eyes darting, hesitating whether to knock again—when the door was suddenly pulled open from inside.

Li Xiang irritably clenched his fist, pounding it against the door. "Who is it?!"

"Sir, excuse me, I'd like to introduce a new product from our company, if I may."

A timid voice sounded. Li Xiang paused mid-scratch of his head, looking up at the person blocking the doorway.

He was a strongly built man, wearing a pure white dress that accentuated his wheat-colored skin, making it look especially sexy. A milk basket hung from his chest, the hemp rope digging into his cleavage, highlighting the shape of his pectorals.

"Oh? Milk." Li Xiang stared intently at Cai Gu. Those chests are bigger than a cow's.

A suggestive smirk tugged at his lips. "Is it your milk?"

Cai Gu didn't pick up on the innuendo, simply nodding obediently. He looked at Li Xiang submissively, his voice soft, as if tempting him. "Sir, may I go inside and introduce it to you slowly?"

Li Xiang felt that Cai Gu's face looked familiar, but couldn't recall where he had seen it.

Upon hearing Cai Gu's request, Li Xiang stared at him with ill intent. In the lower district, it was common for people to come under the guise of milkmen to offer special services.

Li Xiang wasn't usually interested in Betas, but Cai Gu's curvy figure stirred the lust inside him. He could pour the milk over that body and taste it slowly.

Just thinking about it, Li Xiang couldn't help but get aroused. His breathing grew heavier, and he stepped aside to let Cai Gu in: “Come in, and give me a good introduction.”

Cai Gu nervously stepped into the scammer’s home. The room was cluttered, and the air carried a musky scent.

Cai Gu stepped over a crumpled paper ball on the floor and glanced at the dirty, faintly stained sofa. He chose to sit on a small stool instead.

Li Xiang hadn’t expected him to be so self-aware. Sitting on that stool, he could directly…

Li Xiang walked in front of Cai Gu, facing him directly. He hooked a couple of fingers around his belt and loosened it halfway.

“How long have you been at this?” Li Xiang asked slowly, eyeing the fine lines at the corner of Cai Gu’s eyes.

Cai Gu hadn’t expected such a detailed question. He shrank back and stammered, “T-ten, almost twenty years.”

He clutched the milk bottle with both hands, his red lips parting and closing as he spoke, revealing a sliver of a pink tongue.

After all these years working, sleeping with who knows how many Alphas, and yet he still acts so innocent.

“This is our company’s new product. Would you like to try it, sir?”

Cai Gu raised the milk-filled cup with a trembling voice.

Li Xiang took the milk, stroking the bottle, and suddenly asked, “Did you put something in this?”

Cai Gu shuddered. He hadn’t expected Li Xiang to see through it at a glance. He bit his lip, clenched his fists in despair—if the drug didn’t work, he’d have to use his fists!

To his surprise, Li Xiang unscrewed the cap and downed the milk in one go. Watching the oddly colored milk disappear, Cai Gu was stunned.

Li Xiang savored the taste of the milk, grinned, and unfastened his belt: “Don’t worry, I’m not like those clients you’ve had before. I don’t need drugs to get hard. I’ll rock your world.”

Cai Gu quickly stood up, dodging Li Xiang’s outstretched hand, but was too late. The cloth on his chest was torn, revealing his soft, bouncy chest wrapped in a tank top.

Li Xiang’s eyes were bloodshot, desperate to sink his teeth into him right then. He panted like a bull and spread his arms to embrace Cai Gu, but before he could act further, he suddenly clutched his stomach and collapsed to the ground in agony.

Cai Gu, hiding in the corner, opened his eyes and saw Li Xiang writhing on the floor. He crept closer.

He wanted to touch him but thought him too dirty, so he lightly kicked Li Xiang with his foot.

Li Xiang groaned in pain on the floor. He opened his eyes just in time to catch a glimpse of Cai Gu’s thigh beneath his skirt. His lust undiminished, he reached out to grab it.

Before he could touch it, a rat darted out, scaring Cai Gu so much that he jumped onto Li Xiang’s body.

Cai Gu clutched his chest, startled, and scanned the floor. The rat had disappeared somewhere.

After an unknown amount of time, Cai Gu realized he was still stepping on Li Xiang. He hunched his shoulders and lifted his foot from the man’s chest.

    Li Xiang was already half-dead.

Cai Gu grabbed a tissue and held it under Li Xiang’s nose, feeling for breath. He let out a long sigh of relief: “Good, good—he’s not dead.”

He only wanted to catch the scammer, not kill him. Killing was too terrifying.

Cai Gu grabbed both of Li Xiang’s arms, struggling to lift him by the shoulders, intending to drag him out, when a gust of wind blew in from outside.

The window had somehow been opened. A young man in a long robe knelt on the windowsill, holding a long staff, his golden hair flowing to the ground in the breeze.

Cai Gu was so startled that his first instinct was to let go. Li Xiang’s head hit the floor again with a distinct thud.

He spread his hands and shook his head urgently, trying to cover up: “It wasn’t me.”

He hadn’t even seen the face of the young man on the windowsill before he rushed to escape.

    “He…”

Before Cai Gu could finish, Yue Jin covered his mouth with one hand. A familiar voice whispered in his ear: “Shh, it’s me.”

Cai Gu’s eyes lit up, and he let out a muffled “mmm,” completely forgetting that his collar had been torn, exposing large swaths of his chest, which pressed intimately against Yue Jin’s hand.

    “What happened?”

Outside, He Yanxing heard Cai Gu calling his name and sensed something was wrong, but the door was locked from inside, and he couldn’t push it open.

Yue Jin squinted his golden eyes. Who was that outside the door? What was his relationship with mother?

    Countless questions filled his mind.

Could it be… that he was the “child” mother had been looking after?

    “Bang.”

The door was suddenly kicked open. Before Cai Gu could react, He Yanxing charged in and threw a punch at Yue Jin.

Yue Jin raised his staff to block the blow. Both men moved away from Cai Gu at the same time, clashing in the living room.

Both fought with deadly intent. Their pheromones nearly solidified in the air, and their powerful spiritual energy slammed into each other, throwing the entire room into chaos.

Watching them tussle in the filthy room, Cai Gu finally couldn’t take it anymore. He took a deep breath, put on an elder-like demeanor, and scowled: “Stop fighting!”

Standing between them, Cai Gu pushed them apart with his hands and said sternly: “Bickering like children—what kind of behavior is this, especially in someone else’s home?”

He pursed his lips to look severe. He first turned to scold Yue Jin: “Do you know what floor this is? The seventh! Standing on the windowsill—what if you fall?”

“You’d be a pulp,” He Yanxing muttered from the side.

“And you! So impulsive! Your body hasn’t even recovered, and you’re already picking fights again! Do you want to get well or not?” Cai Gu didn’t spare He Yanxing either. Neither of them was getting off easy.

Both Alphas stood frozen like quails, not daring to move, swallowing their defiance.

“And this place is swarming with rats! You’re both acting like filthy little children…”

As Cai Gu was scolding them, Li Xiang managed to sit up. The moment he opened his eyes, he saw Cai Gu and gritted his teeth, struggling to get up: “Slut, what’s with the innocence act? You’re just here to sell yourself!”

After the curse, Li Xiang suddenly felt two piercing gazes fixed on him, as if they could crush his bones.

Two S-level pheromones attacked Li Xiang at once, sealing his mouth shut—he couldn’t utter a word.

Cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He suddenly wished he could just lie back down and play dead.

Li Xiang’s eyes darted wildly as he desperately tried to think of an escape. Then he saw the wide-open window and, steeling himself, jumped out.

Cai Gu was stunned. He rushed to the window and looked down. The ground was empty—he didn’t see Li Xiang’s body.

    “Ouch!”

Just as panic set in, a familiar voice came from below: “Where did this guy fall from? How did he end up hanging on my balcony?”
