Chapter 188 Secret Affair
by 喵总睡不醒Chapter 188: The Tryst
Ling Jue casually grabbed a blanket from the sofa, wrapped her up from head to toe, and carried her back next door.
Other people’s places cramped his style.
Once outside, the cold wind hit them, with just a few dim yellow streetlights cutting through the dark. Luckily, it was only a few steps, so he sped up.
Qin Shuyi pulled the blanket down from her head, her hand reaching up to touch his nose, giggling, “You’re so handsome.”
Ling Jue said nothing.
“I’m complimenting you.”
He just kept walking.
Getting no response, she got upset and started squirming.
“You’re ignoring me. I hate you. Put me down!”
The drunk woman was a handful, thrashing around, so he quickly pinned her down. “Be good, baby. When we get back, I’ll give you anything you want.”
He was about to explode from holding back, and she was teasing him the whole way—it was driving him crazy.
“No, no, I don’t wanna go home,” she whined. “I want kisses.”
She usually held her liquor well, but today, mixing drinks and being in a good mood, she was a handful.
Ling Jue was at his wit’s end with her.
“Fine, we’ll kiss now.”
He gritted out the words.
Just as they got to the door, he shifted her.
He switched from a princess carry to holding her upright like a kid, then suddenly captured her soft lips, kissing her hard.
After kissing her against the wall by the door for a bit, he held her with one arm and opened the door with the other.
The servants had been sent off, so he didn’t hold back.
All the pent-up longing from days of the cold war exploded at once.
“Baby, my good baby, let your husband kiss you.”
“You’re so heartless, not coming home for days. Your husband missed you like crazy.”
“Let’s sleep together tonight, okay? No answer means you agree.”
“Good girl… open your mouth.”
The house was pitch dark.
The blanket fell by the door, and they were all over each other on the living room sofa before even making it upstairs.
Qin Shuyi felt the heat in the house was too much, stifling, struggling to breathe, so she kicked at the heavy jerk on top of her.
Ling Jue laughed and coaxed her, his hands wandering.
Just as he reached to pull off her tangled sweater, he froze.
“Who’s there?”
He quickly covered Qin Shuyi with his coat, his voice dripping with fury.
“Come out now!”
Qin Shuyi pouted, about to cry again.
“You’re yelling at me.”
Ling Jue’s head was pounding. He scanned the doorway with a sharp, wary look while holding Qin Shuyi, patting her back to calm her down.
“Baby, I’m not yelling at you. There’s a mouse.”
He grabbed her hand as she tried to take off her clothes from the heat. “Be good, your husband will help you get undressed later.”
“Let’s play a game. Close your eyes, and when you open them, there’ll be a present.”
Drunk Qin Shuyi was easy to calm down, covering her eyes with her hands.
“Hurry up.”
“Okay, now cover your ears and count. When you get to a hundred, open your eyes.”
He kissed her forehead, set her down facing away from the door on the sofa to count, and stood up.
“Still not coming out?”
The thought that someone had been spying, hiding here with bad intentions, made him radiate a chilling vibe.
The person held their breath, too scared to move.
A fruit knife flew fiercely, scraping against the door with an ugly screech before sticking into it.
“Ah—” The hidden person let out a short, startled cry.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
A woman, crying with a face like a rain-soaked pear blossom, stepped out from the doorway.
Her eyes were full of terror. “Master Jue… we’ve met before, don’t you remember?”
The faint reflection of the snowy scene outside dimly lit the newcomer’s face—it was the girl in the light blue ski suit from the afternoon ski slope.
Ling Jue’s brows furrowed tightly, veins throbbing on his forehead.
“How did you get in here?”
The girl trembled, “I’ve been waiting at the door for you… you… you didn’t lock the door just now, so I followed you in.”
Her best friend had originally wanted her to latch onto Ling Jue.
But Ji Xiuhang was too alert.
Feifei had only helped her ask a few more questions, and Ji Xiuhang kicked them out of the ski resort, not even letting them stay for the promised dinner.
He was a flirt, but not a scoundrel—he wouldn’t drag a brother with a girlfriend or fiancée into his games.
If Qin Shuyi really ended up falling out with Ling Jue because of someone he brought along, he would never forgive himself.
He knew how hard it was for Ling Jue to fall for someone.
He hoped they would stay together, so Ling Jue wouldn’t go back to those life-risking games again.
It was just a way to kill time, so Ji Xiuhang gave up quickly.
Neither the girl nor her best friend had expected this outcome.
Not only did they fail to hook Ling Jue, but even Ji Xiuhang, that big catch, got away.
Fei Fei's heart was bleeding.
Ji Xiuhang was on a level she could only dream of, and it was pure luck she even got close to him.
The two returned to their rented villa in low spirits and told the others about the day’s events.
Among them was a rich kid from a wealthy family who, upon seeing the girl’s secretly taken photo of Ling Jue and hearing their description of the group, slapped his thigh in disbelief.
“Holy crap! What kind of luck is that?”
On one hand, it was bad luck—they’d run into such top-tier guys and even managed to get in.
On the other hand, it was good luck—but the fish that were practically in their mouths had all gotten away.
Knowing the true identities of those men, the girl and her best friend felt even worse about it.
How was this any different from missing out on a multi-million-dollar lottery?
The girl thought it over and, unwilling to give up, decided to take another shot.
Men were all the same—who didn't cheat? What if she actually managed to snag him?
She dressed up carefully, sneaked over to the vacation villa, and endured the cold, hiding outside for hours on end.
Just as she was about to give up, Ling Jue came out of another villa carrying Qin Shuyi in his arms.
His girlfriend was drunk.
The girl thought, this was a gift from the gods.
But they were so eager that they started kissing before even getting through the door, leaving her no chance to make a move.
Luckily, they forgot to lock the door when they came inside.
She slipped inside, swallowing her shame, already planning a cheating role-play scenario.
But Ling Jue was so sharp that he caught her right away.
Seeing the fruit knife glinting in the light from the snow outside, she swallowed hard, trying to suppress her fear.
“Master Jue.”
Hearing the soft counting voice from the sofa, where the person had their back to them, she gritted her teeth and shrugged off her long cotton coat.
Underneath, she was wearing only a skimpy, sexy slip dress.
The cold air from the open door sent a shiver through her, but the man’s status was too tempting.
Miss this chance, and she'd never meet a man like him in a thousand lifetimes.
“Your girlfriend's drunk. Don't you want to try something fun?”
“Just let her sleep, and we could…”
“Get out!!!” A furious roar rang out.
Ling Jue felt a sickening disgust, as if something filthy had invaded his personal space, even making him feel like throwing up.
“If you don't want to die, get out. Say one more word, and I'll make sure you never talk again.”
The girl wanted to say more, but his chilling presence shut her up.
She had a gut feeling—he really could kill her.
Failing to seduce him and getting cursed out, she fled in tears, a total mess.
Thinking about how this disgusting thing had been brought in by someone, Ling Jue wanted to drag the drunk Ji Xiuhang from next door and beat him up again.
Being coveted by something like this made him feel dirty.
In his position, temptations were constant.
He didn’t even need to show anything, and people would throw themselves at him.
But if novelty and physical allure could sway him, he wouldn’t have waited until Qin Shuyi appeared to give away his first time.
He had never craved novelty or excitement; he was searching for that elusive, mystical thing called “love,” which had tormented the previous generation.
Qin Shuyi was unique and irreplaceable.
