Shen Yu, after wrapping up his important discussion with Bai Yuanzhou, headed straight to the cafeteria to find Bai Yeye: "Where's YeYe?"

"It seems he went out for a late-night snack with the Deputy General."

Shen Yu frowned, feeling a bit uneasy: "Where did they go?"

"I'm not sure. Should I ask the Deputy General for you?"

"Yeah."

Shen Yu quickly found out where Bai Yeye and Gu Yuankai were and arrived swiftly. Gu Yuankai was crying miserably over the bill, while Bai Yeye was sprawled out, not moving an inch.

Seeing this, Shen Yu breathed a sigh of relief and stepped forward to ask, "What are you doing lying on the ground?"

Gu Yuankai stared blankly ahead: "General, I might need to find a side job."

Bai Yeye had eaten through two months of his salary. If he didn't find a side gig, he wouldn't even have money for food.

Bai Yeye suggested, "There's a nightclub next door. With your looks, you could probably be a headliner."

Shen Yu took the bill from Gu Yuankai's hand and glanced at it. Thirty King Crabs. Bai Yeye was ruthless.

"I'll cover it. Go back."

Gu Yuankai was so grateful he almost cried: "General, I'm yours in this life and the next!"

Shen Yu ignored him, walked over to Bai Yeye, and crouched down: "Stuffed?"

Bai Yeye patted his round belly: "A bit."

"Sir, should I help you carry him back?" Gu Yuankai thought Bai Yeye's weight must have doubled by now.

"No need." Shen Yu picked up Bai Yeye.

Bai Yeye rested his head on Shen Yu's shoulder, his tail wagging back and forth.

"I'll pay him back, I'll cover it."

Even though Gu Yuankai had treated him, Bai Yeye knew where to draw the line. He had just been messing with him because he'd said Bai Yeye only had the 'heavy' part of 'mature and steady'.

"It's fine. Just a little money." After saying this, Shen Yu paused, feeling like an alpha showing off to an omega.

"That's two months of Gu Yuankai's salary. He's a deputy general. How much more could your salary as a general be?"

"This is my room. Put me down." Bai Yeye noticed Shen Yu passing by his room without stopping, thinking he had forgotten.

Shen Yu carried him into his own room, "No rush. I want to show you something."

"What is it?" Bai Yeye tilted his head curiously.

Shen Yu didn't hide anything. In front of Bai Yeye, he pressed a button on the desk, and the bookshelf slowly moved aside, revealing a hidden chamber.

"What's this?" Bai Yeye stepped closer, almost blinded by the light shining from within.

So much gold and so many treasures!

Gold and treasures that others would kill for were strewn about in Shen Yu's room like worthless decorations. Bai Yeye didn't dare step carelessly, afraid of breaking something.

"Did you embezzle?!" Bai Yeye turned to look at Shen Yu. His salary was only a few hundred thousand. How could he afford all this?!

Shen Yu was exasperated. "These are all rewards given by the emperors of various planets after I pacified the wars."

Shen Yu had not only achieved great military achievements within his own planet but also intervened in interstellar conflicts where the strong bullied the weak. Every planet's emperor wanted to recruit him and made excuses to send him gifts.

Bai Yeye spun around happily: "Then I must be very cute. Tomorrow, I'll buy you a gift too."

"No need to buy me anything."

"I have to. Otherwise, I won't take your things." Bai Yeye valued reciprocation; he couldn't just take things for free.

Shen Yu didn't argue about such a small thing: "Alright, then buy it."

Bai Yeye wagged his tail: "Then tomorrow I'll have Gu Yuankai take me to buy the gift."

Shen Yu's tone turned serious: "Why him?"

"Because you're all busy. You've just got back and must have a lot on your plate, and Brother Ruoshui is busy too." Bai Yeye didn't want to disturb their work.

Shen Yu sighed: "I'm not busy. I'll take you tomorrow."

Shen Yu also rarely wore formal attire. His casual black T-shirt and long pants gave him a runway model vibe. He wore a mask that hid his face but not his charisma.

Bai Yeye circled him twice, his little mind imagining himself, in human form, holding Shen Yu's arm and strolling down the street.

"Want me to carry you?" Shen Yu opened his arms to him.

Bai Yeye wanted to say no, but his body leaned into Shen Yu on its own. "Yes!"

Better stay as a dog—otherwise, he might not even want to go shopping with me.

"Where do you want to go?"

"Let's go to the mall and pick out gifts first." Bai Yeye was afraid he'd forget about it if he started having fun.

Shen Yu took him into the mall. Bai Yeye, who rarely went shopping, was a bit overexcited and ran into every store. Shen Yu patiently stayed with him as he shopped, never rushing him.

"This, this, and this—I want all of them. Swipe it!" Bai Yeye pulled out his black card with a flourish and bought several gifts for Shen Yu in one go.

Shen Yu was about to stop him, but Bai Yeye scampered off excitedly to the next store.

"What kind of store is this? The decor is gorgeous—why is it empty?" Bai Yeye tilted his head, looking at the strange things on the shelves, unable to figure out what they were for.

Shen Yu's face reddened under his mask. He walked in and scooped him up, carrying him out: "This is not a place for you to visit."

That was a store for gay couples, which had nothing to do with a single dog like Bai Yeye.

Bai Yeye pouted: "Why can't I go in? Come on, just go in with me and look around!"

"No, behave."

"But I just want to go in and look!"

A furious voice rang out: "Do you want me to accompany you inside?"

Bai Yeye's dog body jolted—it was his big brother!
