Chapter 27 Imprisonment
byChapter 27 Imprisonment
Although it seemed he was in a difficult situation, Ji Jing showed no signs of panic.
When he came out of the bathroom, the man was still sitting in the room waiting for him, holding a paper book in his hands, looking quite patient.
Only then did Ji Jing take a good look at the man.
The suit revealed a tall and imposing figure. Without the scruffy beard and fake silicone scars, the man looked rather handsome, though not as strikingly attractive as Luo Ke, but with a decent demeanor.
He had the air of a refined rogue.
The man also sized up Ji Jing with a half-smile. Ji Jing wore traditional black Hanfu, with a crossed-collar top and a mamian skirt, both black with golden thread embroidery of auspicious clouds and dragons, making him look mysterious and noble.
The man nodded and said, "Not bad, this suits you well. Traditional Hanfu looks best on pure-blooded descendants of ancient Huaxia."
The man also had black hair, but his eyes were lighter in color, with sharp features and a high nose, suggesting a mix of ancient Huaxia and ancient European bloodlines.
Ji Jing ignored the man's compliment and simply stated, "I'm hungry; I want something delicious to eat."
He wasn't underestimating the danger posed by Omega Ji Jing, but he knew that since the man had healed him, he wouldn't kill him now.
Getting the man to send him back to Imperial Star was unlikely, but he was sure the man wouldn't make things difficult over a meal.
Once the man relaxed his guard, he might be able to gather some information about his current situation.
Sure enough, the man chuckled and said, "Alright, I'll take you to eat something delicious."
Ji Jing was led out of the room by the man, but they remained inside the building, which had no windows, so he couldn't see outside.
The man took him to what looked like a cafeteria, gave instructions to the chef, and then led Ji Jing into a private room to sit down.
Soon, dishes started arriving, mostly seafood and meat, with very few vegetables.
Ji Jing didn't complain and focused on eating, treating the man watching him as if he were invisible.
Finally, when Ji Jing was nearly full, the man couldn't help but ask, "Don't you want to know anything? Like who I am or why I brought you here?"
Ji Jing glanced at him indifferently and said, "Aren't you just the leader of the Wolf King Star Pirates, Grey Wolf?"
"As for why you brought me here, it's obvious. I'm so good-looking and charming; any Alpha would want to claim me. You're no different, right?"
The man was taken aback at first, then burst out laughing, "Hahaha! Knowing who I am, you're not even nervous. Little beauty, you're quite bold, unlike other Omegas."
Ji Jing nodded, "Yes, you have good taste."
The man choked, then laughed again, saying after a while, "My real name is Ask Xiuzhu. You can call me Xiuzhu or brother."
Xiuzhu smiled warmly at Ji Jing, coaxing him, "I prefer if you could be sweet and call me brother."
Ji Jing rolled his eyes, "Oh, Old Ask, nice to meet you. My name is Ji Jing. If you don't want to call me by my name, you can call me master."
Regardless of what Xiuzhu thought, in Ji Jing's mind, he was 24 years old, and Luo Ke was 28, so the age difference wasn't significant.
Without the young and handsome Luo Ke as a comparison, his impression of Xiuzhu might have been better, but comparisons always made a difference.
At over thirty, Xiuzhu looked somewhat... not exactly old, but definitely more mature than Luo Ke.
Xiuzhu choked again, this time not laughing, his lips twitching.
Though he was ten years older than Ji Jing, for a space dweller, a thirty-something Alpha was in their prime. Being called "Old Ask" by Ji Jing left him feeling...
peculiar.
He sneered, his tone no longer warm and indulgent, but cold and dangerous.
"You're quite bold, aren't you? Are you heartless or truly fearless?"
"Do you know where we are? Do you really think I won't harm you?"
Ji Jing swallowed the lobster meat in his mouth, wiped the sauce from his lips, and calmly replied, "When I ate at a three-star Michelin restaurant on Imperial Star, there were rarely any seafood dishes on the menu. The few that were available were very expensive and frozen, not fresh."
"But here, most of the dishes are seafood, and they are very fresh. From catching to serving, it shouldn't take more than six hours."
"This place isn't a high-end restaurant; it looks more like an employee cafeteria, so..."
"We must be somewhere very close to the source of the seafood, perhaps even its origin—the homeland of the merfolk, Narcissus Galaxy, Poseidon, right?"
Xiuzhu was surprised that Ji Jing could deduce their location based on a single meal.
But he still sneered, "Since you've guessed, you should know that this place is no longer within human territory. No matter how powerful Luo Ke and Tang En are, their reach doesn't extend here."
"So, you'd better behave. Here, I decide your fate, and no one can save you. Understand?"
Ji Jing shrugged nonchalantly, neither accepting nor rejecting the statement.
After finishing the meal, Xiuzhu took Ji Jing in an elevator to the surface.
Only then did Ji Jing realize that their previous activities had all been underwater.
Above was an island, seemingly small, with the coastline visible from a high vantage point.
The buildings on the island resembled a large indoor agricultural market, but Ji Jing hadn't had the chance to see the details inside, only glancing with his mental power as they passed by.
Xiuzhu led him to a courtyard a few hundred meters away from the market. The courtyard was surrounded by high walls, with a two-story house inside.
Outside the courtyard were a row of single-story houses, resembling employee dormitories.
Throughout the journey, Ji Jing didn't see anyone else. Xiuzhu appeared relaxed but kept a close watch on Ji Jing's every move.
Until he led Ji Jing into a suite on the second floor of the small building, he said, "You'll stay here temporarily. I'll bring you meals on time. If I forget, there's also nutrient fluid in the mini-fridge."
With that, Ask Xiuzhu left Ji Jing and departed.
The door was locked from the outside, and all the windows in the room were fitted with railings, including the small ventilation window in the bathroom.
The railings were made of some unknown material, incredibly sturdy. Even with Ji Jing's current strength, kicking them showed no sign of deformation.
The door was equally immovable.
Great, Ji Jing had become a caged bird. Unless he could actually turn into a little bird and fly away, there was no escaping from here.
Ji Jing: ...
"Author's Note"
Thank you to "City of Silence" and "Wind Shaking Candlelight" for the nutrient fluid. Thanks, my darlings~
