Chapter 66: Unveiling
by 临光Chapter 66: Unveiling
Ji Jing was taken aback, still not reacting when he saw Luo Ke pull out a small jewelry box from somewhere and pretend to get down on one knee.
Realizing what Luo Ke was about to do, Ji Jing was startled and quickly pressed him back onto the sofa, stopping him, "Luo Ke, I haven't thought it through yet."
If Luo Ke were to propose and he refused, it would only make things more awkward and hurtful.
Luo Ke was also stunned.
He had already planned everything out—after a successful proposal, he would take a photo of himself and Ji Jing holding hands with their engagement rings on, along with their pheromone compatibility test report, and post it on his social media to show off, tagging Semaya, Doma, Long Su, and others to "share" his joy.
But now, this idea had to be put on hold.
The disappointment on Luo Ke's face was evident, and his silver hair seemed to droop.
Ji Jing felt a bit guilty and took the initiative to kiss him, comforting, "It's fine, I just got divorced recently, and I'm not ready for another marriage right now. It's not your fault, don't overthink it."
Hearing this, Luo Ke finally felt a bit better, supporting Ji Jing's head with one hand and deepening the kiss.
Then, everything happened naturally.
The Alpha, already in his sensitive period, became even more attached to Ji Jing, almost insatiable.
In the middle of the night, Ji Jing felt a bit uncomfortable in his stomach and pushed away Luo Ke, who was trying to get close again.
Feeling unsatisfied, Luo Ke was about to pounce again when he heard Ji Jing's hoarse voice, "My stomach feels a bit off, please stop teasing me."
Luo Ke was startled and immediately became anxious, "Should I take you to the treatment pod?"
Ji Jing waved his hand, "No need, I'm just tired. Let me rest, and I'll be fine."
With that, Ji Jing closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Luo Ke sat by the bed, staring at him helplessly for a while before quietly climbing into bed beside him and gently pulling him into his arms.
The next day, Ji Jing slept until nearly noon, waking up groggily when Luo Ke called him.
Luo Ke didn't want to wake Ji Jing since he was sleeping so soundly, but Doma had sent Long Su to call them for a meal.
Luo Ke didn't want to deal with it, but Long Su transformed into his original form and used his dragon claws to knock on the mech cockpit door, threatening to break it open if they didn't answer. Luo Ke had no choice but to agree.
However, after last night, Luo Ke's symptoms during his sensitive period had eased considerably, and he felt much calmer facing Long Su and Doma today.
—After all, Ji Jing now smelled of Luo Ke's pheromones, like an invisible exclusive label.
Ji Jing didn't pay attention to Luo Ke's thoughts. Although he was awake, his spirit was still in bed, making him look somewhat lethargic and clearly exhausted from overindulgence.
Today was Doma's coming-of-age celebration banquet, and all the nearby elves attended, with tables stretching for several kilometers.
Ji Jing, Luo Ke, and Long Su walked together to the table where Doma was seated. They were considered honored guests, and despite Doma's dislike of Luo Ke, she still reserved a seat for him on such an occasion.
When they arrived, Doma was already there. She stood up to greet them, then ignored Luo Ke and Long Su, pulling Ji Jing to sit beside her.
Fortunately, the seat on Ji Jing's other side was empty, and Luo Ke sat down without getting upset over such a minor issue.
"Domi, you look terrible," Doma said, looking at Ji Jing with concern and handing him a cup of spirit juice.
She then glanced at Luo Ke disapprovingly, "Some Alphas really don't know how to take care of people!"
Before Luo Ke could react, Ji Jing started dry heaving, "Ugh~"
He waved at Doma, "Take it away, take it away, ugh~"
Doma was stunned, but Luo Ke quickly snatched the cup from her, moved it away, and brought Ji Jing a glass of water.
With the sweet and metallic smell gone from his nose, Ji Jing managed to stop dry heaving, but his complexion looked even worse.
Luo Ke said unhappily, "Ji Jing has lost a lot of weight here, and it feels bony when I hold him. He even got injured here, as if some elves are capable of taking good care of him."
Doma, taken aback, was speechless.
After rinsing his mouth with water, Ji Jing rubbed his aching stomach and said helplessly, "Can you two get along? Stop being so sarcastic."
At that moment, an elderly shaman brought Ji Jing a bowl of dark purple fruits, which looked a bit like grapes and a bit like cherries.
"Eat some of these, Ji Jing, and you won't feel nauseous anymore."
Ji Jing, who could accept the fruits and vegetables of the elf race, thanked the shaman and popped a fruit into his mouth.
The sour and sweet taste, with a light fragrance, effectively suppressed the discomfort from the dry heaving.
Ji Jing thanked the shaman again, "Thank you, Great Shaman. They are indeed delicious; I really like these fruits."
The shaman smiled kindly, "I'm glad you like them. You can take some back to enjoy later."
"Sure!" Ji Jing replied with a smile.
For the rest of the time, everyone ate quietly. Doma and Luo Ke didn't say anything more, and Ji Jing enjoyed a brief moment of peace, slowly eating the fruits and listening to the conversations around him.
Until Zamba appeared.
Since the incident with the insect scout, Ji Jing had only visited Zamba once when he was bedridden with injuries. He hadn't expected Zamba to be able to walk around now.
"Teacher Zamba, are you feeling better?"
Zamba nodded, "Much better." Seeing the fruit in front of Ji Jing, he smiled, "Ji Jing, you like Wish Fruits?"
Noticing the unusual tone in Zamba's voice, Ji Jing paused mid-bite, "Is there something wrong with these Wish Fruits?"
Zamba smiled good-naturedly, "No problem, it's just that male elves don't usually like to eat it; only pregnant female elves do."
Ji Jing: …
What was he supposed to do now, continue eating or stop?
The awkward Ji Jing didn't notice that Doma's gaze darkened as he looked at him and Zamba.
After the banquet ended, Luo Ke wanted to take Ji Jing away but was stopped by Doma, "Ji Jing, I need to speak with you privately."
Luo Ke said unhappily, "Just say what you have to say here."
Doma gave him a meaningful look before shifting his gaze back to Ji Jing's face, "It's about the Hidden Spirits. I want to tell you a few things to keep in mind."
Hearing this, Ji Jing nodded immediately, "Alright."
Ji Jing followed Doma into her study, leaving Luo Ke outside.
Inside the study, just as Ji Jing was about to ask Doma what the precautions were, he heard Doma say, "Ji Jing, you and Luo Ke Tang En aren't a good match. It's best to distance yourself from him early on."
Ji Jing was taken aback. Although he indeed had no intention of marrying Luo Ke and even prevented him from proposing yesterday, hearing this from Doma made him feel uncomfortable.
"Why do you say that? You're not going to believe some random rumors you read online and start opposing my relationship with Luo Ke, are you?"
Doma stared straight at him and said lightly, "Ji Jing, have you been pretending for so long that you really think you're just an ordinary human Omega?"
Ji Jing was stunned.
Then he heard Doma add, "Human Omegas don't have wings."
Ji Jing froze.
