    Chapter 61: Slept Together

Ji Jing was unconscious for two days before he woke up, only to see Long Su sitting by his bedside, lost in thought, seemingly in a daze.

It wasn't until Ji Jing called out to him that Long Su snapped back to reality.

    "Ji Jing! You're awake?"

Ji Jing smiled, but just as he was about to sit up, Long Su stopped him, "Wait, you have a slight fracture in your left leg; you can't put too much pressure on it."

    "Ouch~"

As Long Su spoke, Ji Jing also felt the pain in his left leg. Accustomed to the advanced medical facilities of the Empire, Ji Jing had almost forgotten that without a treatment pod, some injuries might take a long time to heal.

Seeing Ji Jing frown, Long Su asked anxiously, "Does it hurt a lot?"

Ji Jing took a deep breath and said, "Not too bad, I'll get used to it."

For a moment, Long Su didn't know what to say. Just then, Ji Jing's stomach growled in protest.

    Ji Jing: ...

Alright, he was really hungry, and it seemed like he hadn't had a proper meal in a long time.

Soon, Long Su brought Ji Jing a bowl of medicinal porridge prepared by the shaman. Ji Jing wrinkled his nose as he smelled the herbs, but there was no suspicious odor, so he reluctantly drank the porridge.

Long Su, like a big red dog, silently guarded the bedside. Only after Ji Jing finished the porridge did he hand over the fox-head necklace he had been holding in his hand.

    "Ji Jing, is this yours?"

Ji Jing was taken aback, then nodded and took it, putting the necklace around his neck.

Long Su hesitated for a moment before asking, "Your power exoskeleton looks a lot like Luo Ke Tang En's?"

Ji Jing's pupils dilated in surprise, "Ah? You know Luo Ke Tang En?"

Long Su nodded, "Luo Ke Tang En, the Sword of the Empire, is very famous, many of us dragons know him."

    This was awkward.

Ji Jing laughed dryly, "You're right, this is Luo's."

Long Su was stunned. Although he had guessed as much, hearing it from Ji Jing himself was still hard to believe.

Luo Ke Tang En wouldn't casually give his power exoskeleton to anyone, and even if someone else got it, they couldn't use it unless Luo Ke Tang En granted them permission.

From the way Ji Jing fought the insectoid earlier, it was clear that his permissions were on par with Luo Ke Tang En's.

This could only mean that Ji Jing and Luo Ke Tang En had a special relationship.

"Are you and Luo Ke Tang En... very close?" Long Su asked hesitantly.

At that moment, a skirt hem appeared at the door, but neither Ji Jing nor Long Su noticed.

Ji Jing thought for two seconds. He and Luo were indeed close, much closer than ordinary friends, but they had never defined their relationship (Luo: ? I thought we were already an old married couple, NOT!).

After two seconds, Ji Jing gave his answer— "We've slept together."

"Huh?" Long Su thought he had misheard.

Ji Jing repeated, "Luo Ke Tang En and I have slept together."

    Long Su: ...

There was no need to be so direct.

Seeing Long Su's constipated expression, Ji Jing found it a bit amusing, "Why are you so surprised? I haven't even told you that I was married before and recently got divorced."

    Long Su: ………

Long Su was quite shaken and went outside to sulk.

Not long after Long Su left, Doma arrived.

By this time, Ji Jing had already gotten out of bed, using his right foot to hop since his left foot couldn't bear weight.

Doma quickly came forward to support him, "The shaman said your leg needs to rest for a while, try not to move around too much!"

Ji Jing, supported by Doma, hopped to the table and sat down, smiling, "Lying in bed all the time isn't comfortable either. I'm fine, don't worry."

Doma also smiled, "Thank you, Ji Jing. If it weren't for you, the consequences would have been unimaginable."

Ji Jing shook his head, not taking credit, and asked, "How is Zamba?"

"He broke four ribs, his injuries are more severe than yours, but he's not in danger. He woke up yesterday, and when I visited him, he asked me to thank you!"

Ji Jing was relieved, "That's good to hear."

"By the way, Ji Jing, didn't you say you wanted to attend my coming-of-age ceremony?" Doma asked with a smile.

Hearing this, Ji Jing was delighted, "Is it confirmed?"

Doma nodded with a smile, "Originally, the elders only agreed to let you observe from the outside, but now that you've saved us all, they recognize you and agree to let you enter the mother tree's shade with me, to receive the mother tree's blessing up close."

    "Really? That's wonderful."

Being able to approach the mother tree openly meant that Ji Jing had achieved his goal for this trip.

The shaman's medicinal porridge worked well. The next day, the pain in Ji Jing's left leg had significantly reduced, and he could even walk around the area with a cane.

Passing by an open field, Ji Jing saw Long Su teaching the elven guards how to deal with the insectoids. Ji Jing found it somewhat interesting and sat down on a nearby rock to listen.

When Long Su’s gaze fell on Ji Jing, his expression stiffened slightly for a moment, but he quickly regained his composure and continued with his prepared lesson.

Only the more observant elves might have noticed that much of what Long Su was saying had already been covered, and he was now repeating it.

However, no elf raised any objections, as this concerned the safety of their entire race. Even if Long Su repeated himself a hundred times, they would listen patiently.

"Basically, you elves are small in stature, which puts you at a disadvantage when dealing with insectoids. Consider using scents to repel them. Fortunately, your planet Spry has a diverse range of plants, some of which have odors that insectoids dislike, and two types can be used to poison them..."

An elf glanced at Ji Jing and then asked Long Su, "Can we use the weapon Ji Jing used that day against the insectoids?"

He didn’t know the term "powered exoskeleton."

The elves around him immediately chimed in, "Yes, if each of us could be equipped with such a weapon, we would stand a chance against the insectoids, right?"

While they were grateful to Ji Jing, they didn’t think it was due to Ji Jing’s inherent strength, but rather because of the powered exoskeleton he used.

Long Su paused for a moment. He first glanced at Ji Jing, whose smile remained unchanged, before saying, "Let me put it this way: the powered exoskeleton Ji Jing wore that day is one of the most advanced technologies of the Human Empire. Not only will they not agree to lend it to you, but even if they did, the cost of a single exoskeleton is comparable to that of a small starship. Are you sure you can afford it? We dragons certainly can't."

    The elves: ...

Suddenly, they felt the weight of poverty.

Previously, the elves lived comfortably because their desires were low, so they never felt poor.

But in this era of interstellar civilization, where multiple races interact, human technology is indeed impressive, yet it comes at a steep price.

Before, the elves dismissed this, but now they understood what it meant to be out of reach.

Not to mention starships, which they had to rent from humans since they didn’t have their own. So, there was no question of having powered exoskeletons.

    Poor, too poor!

    Painful, too painful!!!
