Chapter 52: Request
by 临光Chapter 52: Request
Because of these dark secrets, Deputy Zhong once suspected that Luo Ke, this high-and-mighty flower on the cliff, would have to remain single all his life, as no Omega could ever win him over.
But now, unexpectedly, Ji Jing had easily plucked the high-and-mighty flower from its perch.
The in-depth report on the gland pheromone sample had already said it all.
"How... How did Ji Jing manage to do it?" Deputy Zhong asked, somewhat doubtful of life itself.
To be honest, if not for his own mental strength being at the 2S level and Luo Ke never having any ill intentions towards him, Deputy Zhong wouldn't dare to be alone with Luo Ke.
But Ji Jing was a delicate Omega. How did he manage to resist Luo Ke's influence?
Could an Omega's mental strength be higher than his own?
And was their intimate encounter truly consensual? Could it be that the boss took advantage of someone while they were unconscious?
After letting his thoughts wander, Deputy Zhong was even more shocked, breaking out in a cold sweat.
If he were to persuade them to break up, would Ji Jing accuse their boss of rape?
If that happened, there would be no need for further evidence; Ji Jing could just present the in-depth report on the gland pheromone sample.
Given the current public interest, if Ji Jing were to take such action, their boss would be finished.
Deputy Zhong was in a panic, but Luo Ke, eating his meal, said with a hint of pride, "Ji Jing can do it. From the first time he met me, he wasn't afraid of me, nor was he influenced by my pheromones."
"Is... Is that so?" Deputy Zhong laughed dryly, barely suppressing his suspicion of foul play by Luo Ke.
Then, Deputy Zhong's mind turned a corner—
If what Luo Ke said was true and he hadn't forced Ji Jing, then it meant Ji Jing was indeed a rare Omega suitable for Luo Ke, and his attitude towards Ji Jing should change.
One must understand that although Luo Ke was known as a war god, he wasn't without his weaknesses.
Once the sensitive period hit, even if he was controlling a mech in battle against the insectoids one second, the next second he would have to retreat to the rear for rest and recuperation.
Due to his immense power, Luo Ke's sensitive periods were more difficult to endure than those of other single Alphas, akin to a fierce beast being stripped of its sharp claws.
Not only did Luo Ke have to rest for a week during each sensitive period, but he also needed to receive large doses of suppressants and sedatives.
Long-term use of these drugs in large quantities had significant side effects, potentially shortening an Alpha's lifespan and greatly reducing their combat career.
If Luo Ke couldn't find a suitable Omega, he might have to retire from the front lines by the time he reached his fifties or sixties.
But if he had an Omega partner, things would be different.
It could be said that as long as an Omega partner was willing to provide regular pheromone comfort, an Alpha wouldn't experience sensitive periods. Even if they did occur unexpectedly, a soothing session with a soft and fragrant Omega wife would cure the condition.
Thinking about this, Deputy Zhong suddenly realized—
Ji Jing wasn't a troublemaker; he was clearly the esteemed First Legion Commander's wife!
Ji Jing, unaware that Deputy Zhong had already considered him Luo Ke's partner, browsed online messages after finishing his meal while grooming Dahua and Xiaohua.
Although it was a newly registered social media account, Ji Jing's followers had already reached half a million, and the private messages in his inbox were almost overflowing.
Among them were apologies to Ji Jing, support for his divorce from Ed, but most were urging him to break up with Luo Ke.
They all advised Ji Jing not to drag Luo Ke down and not to tarnish the reputation of the war god.
Ji Jing ignored all of these, but one message caught his attention.
It was a private message from an anonymous account, which read: "Hello Ji Jing, I am Carol. I would like to talk to you. If you're willing, please add my communication number: 57262047202."
Ji Jing raised an eyebrow. He actually had this communication number saved in his contact list, discovered and recorded by the original owner when snooping through Ed's optical brain contacts.
What surprised Ji Jing was that Carol would want to talk to him. What could they possibly discuss?
Was it because she had inadvertently become involved in his marriage with Ed and wanted to apologize?
Before returning to Imperial Star, Ji Jing had heard Luo Ke mention Carol briefly.
Apparently, after discovering she had been cheated on, she went to the hospital for an abortion and broke up with Ed.
This decisiveness earned Ji Jing some respect, so after thinking for a couple of seconds, he sent a message to Carol: "I'm Ji Jing. You can add me as a friend, and we can chat via video."
Soon, Ji Jing received a friend request from Carol, which he accepted, then initiated a video call.
The call connected quickly, and on the other end, Carol appeared in a dimly lit room, looking somewhat haggard and weary.
She spoke first, "Hello Ji Jing, I didn't expect to meet you this way."
Ji Jing shrugged, petting Dahua's head while saying, "Hello Carol, are you alone? Is Ed hiding somewhere out of camera view, listening in?"
Carol's face stiffened slightly, but she shook her head, "No, I've broken up with him."
Ji Jing shrugged again, not particularly interested in delving into Carol's relationship with Ed. He simply said, "Is that so? Then why did you contact me?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't know Ed was already married."
Carol apologized, "If I had known, I wouldn't have gotten involved with him at all."
"It doesn't matter, I'm already divorced from him," Ji Jing replied indifferently, not bothering to offer forgiveness on behalf of the original owner.
Carol was stunned for a moment, likely not expecting Ji Jing's calm and composed demeanor, which left her prepared words hanging in the air.
Seeing Ji Jing pet the dog and then lower his head to play with the cat, seemingly forgetting about the video call, Carol bit her lip and finally said, "Ji Jing, I know it's a bit shameless of me to say this, but..."
"Can you not expose my existence?"
Ji Jing raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
He had never intended to expose Carol in the first place. His post was aimed at Ed, simply because he didn't want the mud Ed threw at him to affect Luo Ke.
But hearing Carol voice this request still made him a bit unhappy.
"You shouldn't be asking me about this; you should be talking to Ed. After all, he's the one who knows you best and is most likely to expose you."
At his words, Carol's face flushed, but her expression was particularly unpleasant.
In Carol's view, no Omega would be indifferent to their Alpha's infidelity. Ji Jing's current calm demeanor was probably just an act.
So after taking a deep breath, she steeled herself and said, "Ji Jing, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to ruin your marriage with Ed. I had my reasons before."
